Had a really nice late dinner at Daebak! It's a little expensive (~$45 per person), but we were very pleased with the quantity and quality of the food! I would absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a good Korean BBQ meal. Just note that the staff does the cooking for you (at your table), so you don't do the cooking yourself.

The food was pretty good, and they had excellent service. My favorite was the brisket wrapped in lettuce and the dumplings. I didn’t like the rice cakes and fish cakes much. Besides that my family LOVED the fish!!

Had a very enjoyable and interesting lunch at the @bistecbargrill Bistec Bar and Grill. Thanks @sherriesavorsthecity It's not just a meal, but it's an experience! What could be better than cooking your own fresh ingredients on the grill in the middle of the table in front of you? I recommend checking out their Bistec on the Grill for 2. They start you off with chips and salsa. You get your choice of 2 proteins (shrimp, salmon, cecina, flank steak, skirt steak, petite tender or chicken breast). We opted for the skirt steak and the petite tender. The skirt steak comes sliced and the petite tender comes in an 8 oz piece. We were brought 3 different marinades, ancho chile bbq (my favorite), chimichurri, and tamarind. You get your choice of 6 different sides from 13 different ones. We chose mexican rice, beans, asparagus, avocado, bell peppers, and mushrooms. You also get your choice of corn or flour tortillas (these are unlimited) and we decided to get a mix of both. For dessert we had a delicious tres leches dish. We also enjoyed a Hibiscus Margarita (my favorite), a Mango Margarita, and a French Martini. All ingredient's were fresh and delicious. It's surprisingly easy to cook your food on the grill and it's a fun way to enjoy a meal even for inexperienced cooks like me. We even got to meet Monique, the co-owner/manager, she is a lovely and friendly person. My only suggestion is that the sides and tortillas should be served after the proteins are brought to the table. They were served first, so the tortillas and rice were cold by the time we cooked our ingredients. It's a different take on Koren BBQ, a wonderful experience and delicious meal.

I went to Deabak in Chinatown before and am excited this spot opened up in Lincoln Park. I didn't want to go to Chinatown to eat Korean food so now I can enjoy in a closer location. Having gone on a Friday night, it wasn't a full house, but a good amount of people were there. We ordered Pork Combo. It comes with C1 (Premium Seared Pork Belly), C2 (Premium pork jowl), and either C3,4, or 5. We chose C4 (thinly sliced pork belly marinated with special chili sauce). I liked my selection. I love a good Korean BBQ spot and what I love about this place is that they cook the meat for you! When I mentioned to my friend about having to cook your own food at the table, she goes "you want me to pay to cook my own food? What's the point of eating at a restaurant?" Growing up with Korean bbq concept on a regular basis, this never crossed my mind, but now, I can take my friend here and not have to worry about pay to cook. haha! Starting off with C1 pork belly was great because you get the thickness of pork bacon, a Korean classic. Then C2 was ok, a bit on the salty side, but my C4 thin meat with spicy flavor was good. Paired this up with chadol dwenjang (beef brisket in soybean paste stew), corn cheese, and steamed egg? MMMM.... the best!

Great spot to get your grub on. I had the BBQ wings which were phenomenal and then grilled up some steak. I like the concept of cooking your food at the table, especially since they marinate the meat for you, but be sure to allow yourself some time if you choose that option. Great overall vibes at the lunch hr with Ozuna playing in the background. Check my IG @T_lovesfood for more tasty eats.

Jay, the manager was great and so was our waiter Mao. We did the large beef combo, seafood pancake, and the dumplings. Everything was great!

Sadly disappointed by the overpriced and bland meal. While authentic Korean bbq isn’t exactly easy to find in this part of Chicago, the quality and amount of meat served was unreasonable for the price. A beef combo meal for 2 people was $85 — for 3 SMALL plates of meat with little to no flavor. While the banchan (side dishes) were decent, I’d rather spend the $150 we spent on the beef combo, one appetizer and 2 diet cokes on a steak dinner downtown. Really bummed out because I love Korean bbq and was looking forward to having the option in this part of town. I wonder if the Chinatown location is different/better. But it was just a huge miss on flavors and value for what they’re charging. Side note: it was super weird that they had the servers cook the meat for us — I’ve been to Korean bbq all over Asia and other states and the whole joy of Korean bbq is being able to cook the meat yourself. It was really awkward to have our server stand there and cook our meat at the table.

bistec has such an incredible concept (an interactive Mexican dining experience) that delivers on authenticity and flavor! It was so fun to cook on the table side grills. The cocktails are also created with natural ingredients so they’re super fresh and tasty! Make sure you get the churros with caramel dipping sauce for dessert- you won’t be disappointed!
