14 Places to Find Tapas in Denver and Boulder | Eater Denver

"Dagabi Cucina has been around for decades, but it’s still an under-the-radar Boulder gem, serving shareable dishes like steamed mussels in tomato broth, wrapped and stuffed dates, and chorizo skewers. Notable is the nightly happy hour, featuring more than 30 items and spanning through the entire evening." - Rebecca Treon

The vintage decor, warm lighting, and cozy wooden interiors create a charming, old-world feel. You can enjoy dinner on their heated patio, perfect for relaxed nights out. Every bite is full of rich, authentic flavor. A perfect balance of tradition and creativity on the plate. Thank you !!

We ate at Dagabi for the first and last time last night. It has been on our radar for some time, but we live in south Denver and rarely get to Boulder for dinner, so we were happy to finally try it. What a disappointment! Let's start with the wine. We each ordered a glass of two different Spanish white wines from the modest list. The server returned with one, and reported that the other was out of stock. Fine, I'll try the Albarino instead. After another trip to the bar, the server reported that was out of stock too. There were no replacements on offer - just out-of-stocks. Reading other reviews, I see I'm not the only person who has reported this problem - but the menus are just printed sheets of paper that slide into plastic slots on the menu, so it would be very little work for the management to print up-to-date lists and replace them in the menu slots. But no.... On to the tapas... We ordered three seafood tapas and the Spanish tortilla for the two of us. The highlight of the meal was the Venus clams - served in a rich, garlic-laden broth, and quite delicious. Unfortunately no bread was served with this dish to sop up its delicious sauce. The Spanish tortilla was dried out, fairly tasteless, seemingly bready, and quite different than any tortilla I've had either in Spain or at other tapas joints. Fortunately the sauce from the clams came in handy here, and when poured over the tortilla it made this dish edible. The tuna tapas daily special turned out to be five cubes of cold fully cooked tuna with diced tomatoes served on one toast point - also boring and bland. The fried calamari was a small portion that arrived lukewarm, rubbery and very overcooked. After tasting it we pushed it aside to send it back. But our server never checked with us after the food was delivered, so fully halfway through the meal I finally flagged down someone in the not-busy restaurant, who finally returned it to the kitchen and eventually brought back a fresh and better but still small serving. Reading other reviews here, I now see that that this restaurant changed ownership in May 2025. The new owners seem to be doing a good job of driving this place into the ground. We'll be eating elsewhere the next time we make it to Boulder for dinner.

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and, unfortunately, were disappointed from start to finish. The evening began with a mix-up on our order — we asked for the chicken croquettes and were brought the fish ones instead. After pointing out the mistake, they brought us yet another order of fish croquettes. At that point, we just let it go. The paella was underwhelming, especially considering the premium prices. It was lacking for a dish that’s supposed to be a highlight. The biggest letdown, though, was when we tried to pay with a gift card we received in 2023. We were told they’re under new management and the card wouldn't be honored — and were even told to “just throw it away.” That felt like a really poor business practice and a super apathetic way to handle it. The atmosphere is also fairly unimpressive. Outdoor seating is always a nice option, but the tables were packed so closely together that it felt more crowded than comfortable. All in all, there are so many other great spots in the area — I’d recommend exploring those before coming here.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder. They offer an extensive selection of tapas, perfect for creating a meal from a few dishes or sharing with friends. Their main courses are equally excellent, and their specials never disappoint! I always finish with their delicious Tiramisu or creamy crème brûlée. In the summer, it’s lovely to sit in their outdoor section, enjoying the refreshing breeze while having dinner and drinks.

Google
My honest take is that it’s a lovely vibe and the people seem really good. Maybe we got a bad night but the food lacked the quality you’d expect at a restaurant. Ordered fish Croquettes, manchego Cesar salad, padron Peppers and coca Catalan Pizza. We sent the salad back as the lettuce was extremely tired, they seemed okay about it. The croquettes were fine, again the salad that it was served with wasn’t healthy and the croquettes themselves felt like something you’d cook from frozen. Padron Peppers were great, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The pizza was good. interesting toppings but really well made. Overall a fine experience. Weirdly I overheard a number of other tables having issues with their orders too so might have been a bad night.

Great Spanish/Italian food at very affordable prices. The Spanish shrimp is by far our favorite and the flowerless chocolate torte is a must have! Very fun in the summer/fall with their beautiful and airy deck. Nice and friendly staff. Carmen is awesome and always takes a very good care of us.

Google
This restaurant is slightly special in that it serves small dishes during happy hours, like an Italian dim sum place. The grilled green peppers were spicy enough, which I really like as an appetizer. The seafood stir fried rice was also satisfying. If you are looking for somewhere away from downtown, this would be an ideal place.

✨ An Absolute Gem in Boulder – Dagabi Cucina! ✨ If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Boulder, Dagabi Cucina is a must! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with the warm charm of a cozy European bistro and the genuine hospitality of a passionate team. The food is phenomenal — bursting with rich, Mediterranean flavors. Their paella is absolutely mouthwatering (don’t miss it, especially on Mondays when it’s $5 off!), and the tapas are perfect for sharing and savoring with friends or family. The sangria is refreshing and flavorful — it felt like a little vacation in a glass! The ambiance is romantic and relaxed, perfect for a special occasion or a casual night out. Whether you’re on the beautiful patio under the twinkling lights or inside surrounded by the rustic decor, it’s hard not to fall in love with this place. Dagabi isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Yelp
Just great Flavors great Staff drinks were very good. And a nice cozy atmosphere waiting for warmer weather to sit outside

Yelp
We used to love this place but it unfortunately seems to have gone really downhill. The food was quite bad. The chicken croquettes were $12 and SO small, it was like two bites. The pizza was doughy and had way too much cheese. We told the manager and he did not seem receptive to feedback. Huge bummer for a place we used to love!

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorite places, and sadly, it has evolved to be just mediocre at best. We visited on 6/22 and the service was very slow. We ordered the special salad and 3 items from the regular menu, along with a glass of the wine that was listed as a special. The special salad was no more than bagged greens with bottled dressing and sad unripe tomatoes. The food items from the regular menu were so-so; not terrific, but not bad. We were told by our server they were out of the wine special so we ordered 2 glasses of a different white wine. When it arrived (15 minutes later) it was room temp. We sent the warm wine back. When the bill came, after waiting and waiting, we were charged for both the wine we never received AND the wine that was sent back. The server then tried to tell us he could not remove the returned wine because the manager had already left for the night and there was no way to take it off the bill (it was 7:30 pm on Friday). After a few back & forth conversations, he somehow managed to give us discounts on other food items to make up for the error in charges. It pains me to give a locally-owned, much-needed and formerly-loved neighborhood establishment a poor review, because I would love them to succeed. Perhaps they are still working out the kinks from the ownership change, but this was a really disappointing experience. For the cost of the meal & drinks, I expect much more. I hope they can get it together - and when the reviews start reflecting so, perhaps we'll go back. Until then, it's off our list.

Yelp
We had a great dinner at Dagabi Cucina on 6/20. We focused on the tapas menu and enjoyed Spanish Shrimp, grilled greens, chicken croquettas, Serrano-wrapped dates and Moroccan pork skewers, among other things. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Mendoza Malbec for $40 and there were several other bottles at lower price points, plus many glasses, plus cocktails plus local beers on tap. Great happy hour menu and hours. Service by Jon was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended -- we will be back.

Yelp
I don't like to waste food so I finished my meal. But I have to say the food tastes awful.

Yelp
This is a great place for tapas. Parking is easy, and they is both a patio and a casual, inviting indoor atmosphere. As for the food, I absolutely loved the mushrooms; it's a delightful mix of sweet and salty flavors, perfectly caramelized, simply amazing! The Spanish shrimps were also good, although I wish they would offer bread to soak up that yummy garlicky sauce. A couple of my friends seemed to enjoy the Petit filet mignon. The sangria, while refreshing, leaned more towards a frozen drink style, and I personally prefer a more traditional one. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate tart. I do have to say that I wish the filling had been less compact; it was quite challenging to cut through it without a piece flying all over. However, my friends raved about the Crème brûlée. It's interesting to note that 8 years ago I wrote a review of that restaurant and it seems not much has changed, I had made some similar comments about the food. If tapas aren't your thing, the menu also offers pizza, paella, and other more substantial dishes. We all enjoyed our dinner, and I would definitely go back!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in North Boulder. The food is exceptional and consistent. The Specials vary and are always delicious. The food is Spanish, not Mexican. The service is spot-on; welcoming and attentive. I recommend reservations as it is a busy place.

Donna P.

Yelp
Service was great, we sat at the bar and she was very pleasant. We have been going to this restaurant over the years and know Noah. I hate to say this but the owners wife totally ignored us. She knows us. Never said hello or hi or thanks for coming in. Even if she didn't know us a worker especially an owner would say hello. Totally rude. It was like she purposely ignored us. She acknowledged everyone else at the bar and engaged. Plus the food was subpar. Do not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants. There are vegetarian and gluten free options, staff is always friendly and the food great. I don't think I've ever been disappointed. The restaurant is cozy and you can hear the people you are with.

Yelp
Dagabi Cucina is truly a hidden gem as I was beyond impressed with their service, food and ambiance. Can't think of a better Saturday night: scrumptious food, amazing drinks AND, as an extra special bonus, they had live music as well. It was definitely worth the drive to Boulder. Everything we had was really good: mushrooms, kebabs, pizza, and lobster bisque soup. I really want to try their home made linguini next time. The house cab was just ok but their lemon drop martini was one of the best ones I've ever had! Their special for dessert that night was chocolate covered pear (marinated in liquor), and it was so yummy!! I definitely recommend visiting Dagabi Cucina if you find yourself in Boulder!

Yelp
Went for my first time last week. Fabulous service from the staff and management and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Spanish/Mediterranean fun. Tapas, but also entress, plus also Happy Hour menu makes for lots of tastiness but as bit of confusion as well. Eclectic decor. Decent cocktail and wine menus. Service was bit frazzled tonight -- we went with several tapas plates, but also an entree and a salad to share, and the latter came out waaaaay after the others. Our water bottle was perennially empty, too. Overall, though, that good flavors make it worthwhile.

Yelp
My husband and I both got the salmon special and it was delicious! Already planning a trip back soon. Service was spot on and the cocktail menu looked great although we didn't try. Highly recommend if you're in the area

Yelp
A place in Boulder with actual parking! The staff is always friendly and attentive. Tapas are excellent, the drinks are good. This is a fun place for us to hit happy hour but oftentimes we stay and have dinner.

Yelp
We came Tuesday night which has a happy "hour" that lasts until closing. We started with a carafe of sangria that went down easy. We then shared the Margherita pizza. My wife and daughter had the paella which wasn't on HH but they loved it. We ordered the sautéed mushrooms, and greens also in the HH menu. We also had the cream of mushroom soup. Dessert included strawberry creme de brûlée, and the chocolate torte. Not a bad bite, and I did a double take at how inexpensive this awesome meal was.

Yelp
For the price, this is the best restaurant in Boulder. Exceptional service, DELICIOUS food, and an atmosphere that's a step up from casual sets it apart from the rest. I love Dagabi!!! (Try the Serrano wrapped dates!!! )

Yelp
What a disappointment! 1. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. Because paella takes time to cook, many restaurants I have been to ask to order right away or even pre-order it. Mussels and paella, and grouper (today;s special) all came out at the same time. It took probably 15 min. Mussels had no bread come with it to enjoy the sauce. Some photos here had a couple of pieces of bread on the plate. I had to ask for some bread. Without bread, what did they think we would do with the sauce? 2. Grouper came with mashed potato - yes, this is a Spanish restaurant. The menu mentioned "rice". So we asked the wait-staff. She went to the kitchen and told us that they ran out of rice. I thought restaurants usually asked if we were ok with any substitutions first. When the order went in, the kitchen should have told the wait staff that there was no rice. And the wait staff should have come to the table to ask if it was ok with mashed potato instead. They did not, and wait staff did not notice it at all. We pointed that out, but there was no apology. This is completely inexcusable. The plate was like an airline food on the economy class, and it tasted like one or even worse. No flavor. Tons of green peas hiding grouper. It was almost $30. Green peas and mashed potatoes. And this is a Spanish restaurant. 3. Paella came out on the plate, not on the paella pan. That means no burned rice that many people love. It was served so quick. Was it pre-cooked? We were simply disappointed. I only had Spanish food in NYC and Tokyo, and it was so flavorful. I do not understand why the restaurant had this high rating. We had no desire to try desserts. Very disappointed at the food and service. This was my birthday dinner that my son invited. He felt so bad that he said that he would take me somewhere better to make up.

Yelp
This was my second time at this Spanish-inspired tapas restaurant in north Boulder, and it was a memorable one. Particularly due to our wonderful hostess, named Seattle, whose charming manner and quick thinking helped us through some issues that would have otherwise marred this wonderful evening. She sat us in the patio as we requested, but noticing that the table was too small to fit our plates, she joined another table to make us more comfortable. She was also very helpful with our questions about the menu. We had their special mojitos which were large and very refreshing. We enjoyed the relaxing ambiance and the subdued patio lighting, and we had plenty of time to chat and enjoy our food. My sister and I shared their Monday paella special, which was a seafood paella, which although moderate in size, it packed a punch with plenty of seafood, including shrimp, mussels, octopus, and squid, and flavorful calasparra rice. I also sampled their spicy chicken soup, which was outstanding. Our only disappointment came when we found out they were out of flan en pijama, reportedly a delicious dessert with flan, pineapple, and whipped cream drizzled with caramel. But even more reason to return. And on Tuesdays they have happy hour specials until closing!

Steven G.

Yelp
Truly the worst restaurant experience of my life. The $11 margarita was terrible and I had one sip and sent it back. My Tapas Pizza was cold and when I asked for parmesan cheese, the server put most of it in my lap. My daughter's Ceasar salad with chicken was inexplicably on a 4" x 10" plate which meant that it could not be eaten without half of it spilling on to the table. My wife's Pasta Bolognese was a yellow-brownish color and had a fishy taste to it. If that was not bad enough, the service was even worse and management was nowhere to be found. Save your money and go somewhere that actually knows how to operate a restaurant and serve good food.

Yelp
With the Med disappearing Dagabi is the next best tapas and Mediterranean restaurant. Quality fresh ingredients, lovely large patio is perfect for summer evenings, reasonable prices and there is ample parking! Our family love's this place and their long standing place in Boulder.

Sam W.

Yelp
We had an outstanding meal. The fried peppers were delicious, and the margherita pizza had to be one of the best pizzas I ever had -- not too thin, not too thick, just right. We sat in the bar and the ambiance was perfect. The service was excellent too. I would return to the restaurant in a heartbeat.

Claire G.

Yelp
Found this place from a random google search, best find ever! Amazing service and food! The owner, along with all the staff, are so friendly and accommodating. The food is also to die for, definitely go!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a large group reservation, and as the weather got colder, not only did the group want to sit indoors, but the group had dwindled by half. Because it was a large group, we had to coordinate the reservation with the staff vs online. Kudos to Noah for his patience! We were seated at a perfect indoor table, and having arrived from another activity, we were delighted that the happy hour lasted until 6:30. Excellent food choices and good prices on drinks. Our waitperson was exceptional, and she seamlessly answered questions, organized separate checks and brought our food promptly. We had a great selection of dishes, our table was quiet enough for conversation, and the atmosphere was fun. This was a group of newcomers, so we were happy to introduce them to Dagabi!

Yelp
It's been a wonderful culinary journey. I have Spaniard in my DNA (I can't deny that) and I require the best Paella to please that need in my Life. One day I decided to search here in Yelp. Best Paella in Boulder or Denver. And I came across to Dagabi Cucina I called curious, I wanted to make sure. And that was all I needed in my life. The most extraordinary service, exquisite food, quality ingredients. And mostly the most attentive Chef and Host. Chef Antonio. Since I grew up eating Paella in almost every important occasion, I started to ask questions regarding the authenticity of the ingredients and I traveled through the best possible Spaniard Menu but in Boulder Colorado. One of my favorites the Sangria paired with the espectacular Paella, created by Chef Antonio. It's has been over 2 or 3 years. Visiting Dagabi was like visiting my Spaniard Brother who was always waiting with the best versions of Paella: Paella de Carnes, Paella de Mariscos, and the seafood and meat Paella with Verduras. Sometimes asked personally by me which is the absolutely best Paella. Sorry, I'm obsessed with Paella. And Chef Antonio and more authentic Paella that you'll find in Colorado and maybe in the 7 different States I had lived so far. The best in my humble opinion. Chef Antonio became our friend and Dagabi the best culinary experience in Boulder/Denver Area! Gracias Antonio!

Eveline D.

Yelp
Food had no salt (petit filet mignon, clams). Cesar salad came out with no dressing whatsoever. The calamari came out cold. Most watered down old fashioned my fiancé had ever had. The dates were good and mushrooms were tasty but looked like they came out PF Changs. Waitress forgot our drinks. Space was appealing and well lit, only redeeming quality actually. Waste of 130$ for two do not recommend

Yelp
Saturday March 4th 2017 DRW : 18:00hrs ish This quaint looking restaurant looks nice inside. It feels like you are dining inside someone's house. Its looks tiny and very cozy. I went here with my friends. One of my friend made the reservation for Dinner. Thankfully we had a reservation coz while we were there, this establishment was indeed packed to the brim aka VERY BUSY. Maybe for one its a Weekend, or maybe its Restaurant Week. Who knows?? We decide to share the small plates. At first we wanted to try the Denver Restaurant Week Menu, but what they offered for the Restaurant Week DO NOT appeal to us. Hence, we decide to order a la carte from their Menu itself. These are some of the items we shared : * Wood Oven Baked Bread with Balsamic Sauce ($3) * Paella Mariscos - Main Entrée ($22) * Ravioli ($10.50) * Clams ($8) * Steamed Mussels with tomato-chili broth ($5) * Mushroom Tapas ($6) * Cheese Selection Tapas ($6) * Fried Calamari Tapas ($6) * Croqueta Pescado ($4) - Fried Fish cakes of some kind. I forgot what kind of fish they put in this Croquetas My friends ordered these : * Stuffed Wrapped Dates ($8) * Linguini Bolognese ($7) My friends also ordered these as part of their beverages * Ice Tea ($2.50) * Draft Beer Happy Hour (3.50) Everything I had was OK. YES, the Paella contains Shrimp, Clams, Mussels and Calamari. The MAJOR disappointment dish personally from me, was the Paella Mariscos. From the conversations I had with our server, she mentioned the Chef likes Artichoke in his Paella. Those artichokes were OVER-POWERING, and hence made this dish less stellar I was hoping for. Our server also mentioned since the Chef is FROM SPAIN, this is how he cooks it etc.. Why?? Why??? Do you have to put Artichokes in the Paella?? This is the 1st time, I ever had Paella OVERPOWERED with Artichokes, making this dish UNDER-WHELMING! *MAJOR SIGH INDEED* *BIG MEGA BUMMER* Then when I reached home, search the MENU online, it seems ALL THE PAELLA at this establishment contain or have ARTICHOKES!! Oh well... my search for the SEAFOOD Paella which DOES NOT CONTAIN Artichokes shall carry on.. After our Dinner, we also opt for having some desserts such as : * Chocolate Tart ($7.50) * Chocolate Churros ($7.50) * Some kind of "French" Toast ($7.50) My friends enjoyed their Dinner here. They intend to return, by bringing a big group as such. There are PATIO seating outside when weather permits. All in all decent establishment in town. But in terms of DRIVING ALL THE WAY From Denver to be in this establishment, I have to think thoroughly about it. Or in this case to take PUBLIC Transport like the Bus... Nothing stood out. Nothing WOW me at all... NOT IN A HURRY to Return... Ohh well Dagabi Cucina, at least I tried the dishes I want to eat here hence this 3 STARS Generous Review. Dagabi Cucina 3970 N Broadway Boulder, CO 80305 Tel : (303) 786-9004

Yelp
Did they stop serving complimentary bread during HH at the bar? Even though u ordered a meal? Or did they stop all together? Just at the bar? Or just during HH?

Yelp
Best Tapas menu around and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. And they have the best wines by the glass to choose from.

Yelp
My absolute favorite place to eat ever in the entire ever world ever forever ever!!!!

Yelp
Awesome business! Great staff, super food, very consistent, cozy atmosphere, nice patio that is not on the street!

Yelp
Can"t speak to anything but the pizzas. We ordered 2 for take out and they each were a complete disappointment. The margarita pizza was bland tasting - no yummy tomato/cheese/fresh basil wow at all. As bad was the crust, which was soggy with uncooked pizza dough on the bottom yet burnt edges. Just bad.. The Coco Catalina pizza toppings were tasty and plentiful, however the crust was dry and blah - it looked and tasted more like pita bread. The place gets good reviews, but maybe it's for the tapas. Definitely not for pizza.

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Delicious spot for small plates and variety. A must try if you are from out of town and looking for a unique place for dinner.

Yelp
We ordered Degabi's delivery. Our Expectations were surpassed, excellent food and delivered on time. So delicious, thank you, Degabi's!

Yelp
I enjoy coming here to have their Paella. The owner is interesting and will chat with you about the superb saffron they use and the traditional way in which their Paella is prepared. I have tried some of their other dishes but we truly enjoy their Paella. The service is always on point and the Dagabi Cucina team makes you feel like your at home. If you want a fantastic Paella or some great Spanish food then check this place out and enjoy!

Yelp
Food was average. Very cute outdoor porch area. Service was a bit slow. The pizza was good for a pesto based pizza but someone else in my group got the prosciutto one which was very plain and fell off each piece. The pasta had a very nice sauce on it but was very simple.

Katy G.

Yelp
We hosted a rehearsal dinner for 70 people here last week and Tanya and her team were amazing! She was communicative through the whole planning process and the food was excellent (and plentiful). The kitchen handled the large number of orders hitting all at once perfectly and the tables were served with great timing. The ambiance was just what we were looking for and I highly recommend Dagabi for any private party needs! Thank you again Tanya!!

Yelp
Food was great! We got the pasta and it tasted good. Service was a little slow as it was busy, but overall a very nice place!

Yelp
The service was pretty slow as I believe there was a shift change, but everywhere is rough at the moment for good service. Food was killer and the bread, OMG.

Yelp
Our First time was on FRIDAY Josh the server was excellent, he was attentive with a great attitude. Food was fantastic, the two appetizers were yummy MUSHROOMS & FETA CHEESE, Josh recommended the STUFFED, WRAPPED DATES (excellent balance of sweet & salty flavors -crisp finishing on the ham) Entrees - Natalia had the PAELLAS MARISCOS (Rich in flavor and generous amount of Shellfish) and I had the POLLO MARSALA (nice portion and tasty) We went back on SUNDAY for HAPPY HOUR - Mikey was our server and once again excellent service and very attentive. You can tell after both our visits that the staff really cares about what they do and wants to provide a good dinning experience. I had a few cold Peroni's with a very tasty Margarita Pizza, Natalia had the FRESH STEAMED MUSSELS and a BEEF-CHICKEN MEATBALL with Marinara. Plates cleaned and glad we went both times. We Will be Back Soon, Thanks Dagabi Cucina Staff, well done! Bob & Natalia

Yelp
The food at Dagabi is top notch. I love their paellas and pastas but sometimes "force" myself to order something else. Last night, the special salad was the surprise hit and was the second-best salad I've ever had, after only the salade gourmande at the late (and much missed) Z Cuisine. Service is always excellent, they have some great cocktails and a solid, well-curated (but not expansive) wine list, and they have some great desserts as well. All of this at a very reasonable price point. What's not to like about this "neighborhood" eatery? I have literally no complaints.

Amy D.

Yelp
I went here with my family and we got several different tapas to share. Everything was delicious. Get the stuffed dates. They're up there on the "best things I've ever eaten" list.

Yelp
We used to get to this place frequently when we lived on that side of town. So it was great to find that the food and service is still good. Value was very good. We shared plates among 4 of us... And the paella . Paella and pasta dishes were a little on the bland side... but still good. They did forget one dish (scallops) that we had ordered, but with that it would have been too much food. So we never brought it up and it wasn't on the check. I had a lemon drop martini and it was excellent. Nice diverse crowd and glad we made a reservation for 6:30 as the place was full up.

Yelp
Been going for years! For sure a family favorite. The pizza is AMAZING, I always get the Margarita.

Yelp
I generally love the opportunity to sample highly rated Spanish food in any town I visit. Dagabi was a tantalizing option, predominantly because it offers paella, a personal favorite. It was, unfortunately, crushingly disappointing. The rice was mushy, under seasoned and there wasn't even a hint of saffron in the dish. On the positive side of the equation, plenty of seafood found it's way into this dish and the portion was large enough to satiate any appetite. My daughter had the seafood stew (Zarzuela de Mariscos), which again yielded a bounty of seafood. In a replay of the paella review, it was under seasoned, and wholly underwhelming. If another option for Spanish food presents itself, take it.

Yelp
We ordered takeout for the first time from Dagabi. Now, knowing it's takeout, I was keeping my expectations loose. It's a crazy time right now and during all the COVID stuff going on, I wasn't going to be too harsh on the food. But WOW, my expectations were SO surpassed. Everything was fresh and made with good quality ingredients. My appetizer, meal and dessert deal was only $30 (see their special menu) and everything was delicious! I'm a fairly harsh critic of Spanish food, and I mean it when I say I'd happily return here. I'd probably skip the dessert next time and try more of the tapas. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I was under impressed with the paella as the rice was over cooked. The calamari app was over breaded. The service was decent but the table next to us got much more attention due to chatting up Castilian with the staff. Needless to say, we were disappointed.

Yelp
I admit, I'm a sucker for cute little places like this. The food was excellent, patio seating was nice and the service was really great. We actually visited two nights in a row because while we were there on Monday night, we learned that Tuesday nights are tapas nights, so I insisted we return. The first night I tried their Monday night paella, I was not disappointed (see pic). Lobster, mussels and clams, oh my! Tuesday night we tried a sampling of the tapas menu, which there was plenty to choose from. All plates were devoured.

Yelp
I am not too familiar with Spanish food, but DaGabi Cucina was an excellent introduction. First off, the ambiance and location are great. It's sort of off the beaten path (tucked away behind Lucky's in North Boulder) so it's quiet and kind of secluded. The restaurant itself is so pretty too-we got to eat on the patio and they had it all decked out in twinkle lights and candles. Now, the important part: the food! They served us a pita type bread before our entrees with a really fantastic balsamic vinaigrette spread. I had a really difficult time choosing because everything sounded so good, but I chose the pollo vollery (a citrus tomato chicken with green beans and artichokes.) It was pitch perfect. It was definitely a memorable meal. I paired that with their house chardonnay (a steal for $6!) and it was very good. They also had a tempting tray of desserts, but we were all so stuffed from our meals, we couldn't do it!
