Walk by and go in to compare the price of the price of food to other supermarket. This supermarket is quiet, clean and decent. But when I look to daily food like coffee and fruit, It seem much more expensive than the supermarket I always visit in Brooklyn area.

Patronizing this facility despite their exorbitant prices and substandard presentation is on me, but the abysmal service and surly attitudes is all them. Disgusting

Avoid at all costs - poor quality food at high price. Bought ground turkey that was within the “sell by” range. Opened it at home and it was rancid. Dagastino won’t refund us because we didn’t bring the spoiled turkey back to their store. The employee was so rude and unrealistic about the entire thing - she wanted us to bring the spoiled turkey in hand back to her to get the refund and wouldn’t take our word for it..

I went in to get a sandwich, it was very good. Staff was very nice and helpful. It seemed that the owners are having some renovations done to the store. The reason for the 2 stars, is that I bought a salmon and it had gone bad. It looked good but when I opened it to cook it for dinner the smell was horrendous. It's still a good store, very friendly & helpful staff. I didn't return it because I live far and I'm not going to go back there for 10$. I threw it in the trash & learned a valuable lesson. Always smell the fish before you leave the store. 😅🥴

worst grocery store around. They never have anything on the shelfs and the prices are more expensive than whole foods!! You are better off going to Duane Read next door.

Most of items in fruits are not fresh. Cherry was very bad. Don’t buy cherry’s from this store

Lovely as always. Extremely helpful during Covid with great, easy, fast and accurate home delivery. I had always wondered why D'Agostino and other local markets had not embraced the online shopping and delivery model. Much better alternative to Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and fresh direct etc

Pretty sure their produce scale is way off. One red bell pepper weighs .54 pounds and cost 2.96? Ummm no. When I feel like being ripped off I prefer to go to a movie theater and get the works.

I just checked and they no longer have a coin stat machine. The manager who answered the phone was very professional and very helpful and gave other suggestions locally.

I have to admit I don't Shop here often. When we needed coins counted my daughter saw on line that they have a Coin Counting Machine. Finally yesterday I took the coins from my daughter that she's been accumulating for years. I counted out $15 in nickels and dimes. I told her I would give her the cash for that amount. The pennies I decided I would bring to the machine to count as a test case. I was curious to see the process. Today I had Success and found it's very easy. Just note there's a charge if you want cash. I figured it's worth it. Now for the store. It's clean and tidy. The people I've spoken to on the phone and the cashier today were professional and engaging in a friendly manner. I feel comfortable shopping here. It's no different than the other grocery stores on the Upper East Side as far as price. You have to shop the sales. I think it's great they participate with CoinStar. It's such a convenience now that banks no longer offer this service. Thank you D'Agostino! I'll be back to look deeper into your grocery isles.

Meh. I really want to like this NYC grocery chain but each time I go to one I find them overpriced on the items I need. Seems clean and organized though. The one redeeming factor is they have a Coinstar machine which are almost impossible to find nowadays. So if you have a ton of change laying around in cans and jars bring it here. There's a small charge but worth it to have some extra cash for shopping here.

Their employees are wonderful, helpful and kind. This means everyone from the manager to the cashiers and everyone in between. The items to buy are fresh, and if something is not yet on the shelf, whenever possible someone will go the extra mile to bring it out.

I only come here for the Coinstar and the very nice deli, everything else is wildly overpriced but those two things alone are worth the trip for me. The butcher always has really fresh cuts and sales. The Coinstar is one of the only I've found that works in the city so even the once a year I need it, it's nice to have a convenient place close to home.

Saddest little market with apathetic and rude employees and even customers to match. I never frequent this overpriced, dingy store but came here out of desperation during the Coronavirus panic in search of distilled water which was the only store in the neighborhood that still had it on their shelves. Hmm, I wonder why. I will, however, never return ever again.

This is really an awful and very expensive grocery store that represents the absence of reasonably priced food in this part of the UES. There are no good restaurants , cafes, or food stores when one wants to have lunch or dinner near the Met Museum. I won't buy anything at this grocery because I don't want to be gouged by prices that are nearly double Downtown prices. The Upper East Side is a food desert! How sad!

Bleh, you seriously need to be an attorney from a top ten school to shop here. Their "deals" have so many catches that the average person will not be able to take advantage of them. Their advertising is so freaking misleading that if you don't get tricked in one way or another, you messed up. I bought a bag of shrimp from a freezer container that had the sign $9.99. Of course, I grabbed a 1 pound bag from in there and made my way to the cash register. To my surprise, the total was $25. It turns out there were many different types of bags of shrimp in the same container that had the ONE sign saying $9.99. I feel like I'm a senior citizen in a store full of used car salesmen.

I placed an order to be delivered Monday between 3:30 and 3:45. I arranged for someone to be here with me because I have difficulty in walking and standing. I called after 3:45 and was assured the order was on its way (approximately 11 blocks.) After 5:08 when I called a second time, the "gentleman" who answered began to dial the phone in my ear. I have always been treated with courtesy and I do the same. I find your actions today beyond explanation. If I did not need this order, I would stop payment on it. As it is, it will be the last time I order from you. After about 30 years of patronage, I deserve better treatment. Anybody does.

I had a nasty cashier who stopped in the middle of my transaction to count money and put it aside. Then she made a mistake. I was only buying a box of eggs. She was the only cashier working. Then she gave me attitude, claiming that the cash register gets stuck. She was in a terrible mood, and tried to take it out on me. The male mgr. Standing about 6 feet away, had a bemused smile on his face. He kept smiling, and said nothing. I remember when this store opened. Evidently. This cashier felt free to talk back to me, as well. She refused to scan my rewards card correctly. I told her if she didn't like working at Dag, she should go somewhere else. I stand by that.

Walked in at 9:55 to get ice cream. At 10:00 I was surrounded by 3 workers screaming, "we're closed" and looking at me with rage like I urinated in the isle. I've received more subtle hints to hurry up at truck stops in Eastern Europe. Walked a block home and my phone says 10:05. The 2 stars is for the checkout clerk who accepted my profuse apologizes.

This place is weird. For starters it has a bad layout. It's never that crowded, yet there's always a ridiculous line. It's a combination of them never having enough cashiers when it's busy and the checkout people being extremely slow. The fact that many of their shoppers are senior citizens who can barely move compounds the issue and makes checkout a complete nightmare. Avoid this store all together until they decide to streamline the entire process. There are many better and faster options in the neighborhood.

Service and product in this store slowly improving. I think losing business due to the opening of Fairway had an impact where customer complaints didn't. Love the new addition of sushi & fresher products from the bakery. Wish the fruit & veg were fresher & staff more proactive in removing lesser quality produce.

They have a new woman in charge of the delicatesssen dept. She nickels and dimes you.If you ask for a quarter of a pound. She then provides three eights. Not only that, she is nasty and abrasive. The last time I bought from her, she insulted the customer that preceded me and then insulted me when I questioned the extra amount of food. I was in the supermarket Friday and she questioned why she hadn't received the F----n bills to the store manager. What a hooror. Nobody needs to be mistreated and abused.

After living on the east side for 15 years, I usually get great deals from both Dag and Morton Williams. All I can say is I spent one hour cooking a veal parmigiana meal for my husband and the veal was tough and disgusting! People do not buy Marcho Farms veal scallopini!!!!!

The Fairway opening, soon to be followed by an incoming Whole Foods, has presented a serious threat to this location, and the management has responded in the best way: the store is now bright, clean, easily navigated, all the fruits and veg neatly and attractively displayed, the staff friendly and helpful. Altogether a much more enjoyable market experience than the frenzied behemoths in the neighborhood.
