The Best Restaurant Desserts in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"The Triple Coconut Cream Pie is truly a Seattle institution — Tom Douglas has been making it for more than 25 years, and it has Barack Obama’s seal of approval. With coconut in its crust, in its smooth custard filling, and resting atop its whipped cream as toasted flakes, this pie is a must-try at the end of a meal at any Douglas restaurant, even if it’s not listed on the menu (the restaurateur keeps a back-up in every kitchen)." - Harry Cheadle

Dahlia Lounge No Longer Has Lunch or Brunch Service | Eater Seattle

"A longtime standby on 4th Avenue, I see Dahlia Lounge as the restaurant that launched Tom Douglas and his restaurant empire into fame; it has served Pacific Northwest classics since 1989, and the triple coconut cream pie is a particular crowd-pleaser. Earlier this month the restaurant stopped serving lunch and brunch — a message on the official website and a sign on the door alerted diners — and a representative said Tom and chef Brock Johnson are proud of their efforts but that "changing dynamics" have made those two services untenable, so they’re focusing their culinary passion on making Dahlia Lounge the best place for dinner. Brunch and lunch had been steady for years with dishes like biscuit Benedicts, French toast, and crab cakes, and the shift, along with Douglas’s recent closures of three nearby properties, may signal a broader scaling back; the lounge has also added a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. specializing in martinis and toasts." - Gabe Guarente

An Oral History of the Food Behind Seattle’s ’90s Grunge Scene | Eater

"The original neighborhood outpost from a noted Seattle chef that became the small, feisty, hip alternative to stuffy fine dining—a place to take visiting guests and expense-account dinners while still feeling lively and unpretentious." - Bruce Pavitt

Coronado Springs Resort is “Spanish influenced” with cultures of American southwest, Mexico, & Spain. (Even though they do play a lot of the flamenco music 🥰) This time since I stayed in a club-access room putting me right underneath the Dahlia Lounge I noticed they had ‘churros’ paired with “spiced chocolate”? 🤔 it peeked my interest. And I had no excuse to not go this time 👀 Despite its grand floor to ceiling windows it is dimly lit with mainly yellow lighting that makes this Salvador Dali & Walt Disney lounge feel super cozy. The vibe is home like regardless of the white recessed lighting fixtures over the bar you are comforted walking into this space. I only experienced this place at night I can’t imagine what it might look like during the day 💖 Very few times I’ve had churros and chocolate that remind me of Spain and THESE!?! We’re 99% close! 🫢 the spiced chocolate was as it should be chocolate with churros just a little too runny, it’s usually thicker in consistency. But otherwise?! WOW 9/10 👏👏👏😌 highly recommend.

This is on top of the tower building at Disneys Coronado Springs Resort. Our service was not very good as well as the drinks. I think they were having an off night. It was warm in there. Dessert was good. The great part of this place is you can go outside and get a beautiful view of Disney for miles.

Very nice rooftop lounge at Disney's Coronado Springs resort. Has a romantic view of the 9pm fireworks and decent cocktails. Okay Appetizer & Tapas selection, bottles 40$+. Great place to wait if you have a long wait for reservations to Toledos (in front) or three Rivers(on lake). We always enjoy our visits here.

We had a great time grabbing a drink at Dahlia. It was cozy and the views are awesome. If you go in the evening you can see both Epcot and Hollywood Studios evening fireworks shows. The bar's TV was playing a Dali short film which really added to the vibe (way more interesting than regular TV/sports most places have).

This place turned out to be quite a surprise, hidden lounge to getaway on a rainy night. Especially, on the 16th Floor, and outdoor, relaxed atmosphere, overlooking the Disney theme parks & resorts surrounding the Coronado Resort. We just picked off 1 item each off the menu, going from the top down the list (See the attached pictures & videos), minus the desserts. Plus the "Fruit Punch" was nicely sweet & tart to compliment the foods well, alongside, a glad of red 🍷.

I actually prefer this lounge to the sit down restaurant, Toledo, on the same level. Great food, drinks, service and views from the top of Coronado Springs resort! The food is more affordable than Toledo and you don’t need a reservation to eat here. The Ham and Cheese Bocadillo is delicious!

We absolutely loved the service, view, and atmosphere here! I know it's meant to be a lounge. I'm sure the cocktails are very good here. It was the tapas that left a lot to be desired. We selected it for a light dinner based on all the great reviews. Unfortunately, the food was "no muy bueno." Shrimp Pil Pil - I appreciated the size of the shrimp. The sauce had a bitter taste that we couldn't discern. It just wasn't even close to being authentic. Dahlia Sliders - They were presented well. The burger itself had this fake charcoal taste. The burger buns were perfectly toasted. The toppings had mixed reviews between us. The patatas bravas served with the sliders were just french fries with a drizzle of sauce on them. The sauce wasn't smoky, nor spicy. It was filling. We will go back one day when the menu changes, or just for drinks. It really has a beautiful view. The food was just not what we were expecting.
