Dahlia SF

I recently tried Dahlia Lounge for the first time before going to an event at Public Works around the corner. It’s honestly such a vibe with bold statement decor, unique cocktails, and a decently sized floor with lots of comfortable seating. Also, the music wasn’t too loud, so the environment was good for having conversations, which was ideal for my group.

I recently discovered this place, and I am in a positive shock. The way they are making the drinks and cocktails is absolutely professional and on point! However, for this number of guests you have, you shouldn't make them that way cause it takes so much time, and I ended up waiting for a round of round of drinks for 30 minutes. My advice to you is either to hire more bartenders or to change the way of making the drinks, in other words, to simplify it. Decorations are interesting, I love pictures of Frida, by the way. ✨️

Has a lot of potential, but trying too hard to be a club rather than a neighborhood cocktail bar. Staff waving a flashlight to force a path through dancing people to clean the tables killed the vibe more than a few times. Friday night DJ was great and bartenders were nice. Drinks were mediocre especially for the price; would probably just get a beer next time.

Went for a drink with friends. Based on google recommendations the bar is top rated but my experience wasn’t. They had none of the great bourbons like whistlepig, knob creek, bulleit or rittenhouse. I had to settle for the high west. The bar tender also wasn’t friendly. Won’t recommend on a busy night maybe less busy time is a good time to go.

Arrived to this place about 9:45 last night it was kind of empty. There was a private party downstairs and another price party in the back room so pretty much the main room was open. My group got a seat on some couches near the door. The place started to fill up we were drinking having a good time. The waitress we coming over checking on us all was good. Until around 11:15 pm we were asked to move down a space because there was a space next to us was reserved for 3 people which we moved and on the other side of us there were white men "the finance bro type" and a white female that were next to us when we got there. So soon after I guess the owner or manager went and got security and had us removed saying that were were in a reserved section. ( let me put this in context my group was 3 black people, a Latina, and an Arab person. 3 women and 2 guys) there was another couple on the other side looked to be Asian. They didn't ask anyone else to move just us and went and got security at that. That guy (see photo below the man with blonde hair) was definitely racist. We asked another waitress how much is the section and she said it was basically bottle service only. Which we knew was a lie, the finance bros nor the other couple next to us ordered any bottles also we asked the people if they reserved and they said no. Even if it was bottle service we were never offered the opportunity to even order a bottle. They immediately sat some older white people in our area when we got got up. We asked one of the ladies in the party if they reserved the space and she was like I don’t think so. There is an “white bro aesthetic” they are trying to have in that place. The drinks were good music could be better. But with that experience I’ll never recommend this place nor go back to this place ever again. People should learn not to judge a book by its cover.

Fantastic lounge and bar. The atmosphere is inviting and upscale. The staff is attentive and mix some famous drinks. Definetly recommend for a happy hour drink, night out or private event. Really enjoyed!

GREAT vibes and cocktails. Super friendly staff. Nice music and atmosphere. I got a really cool cocktail with a lil smoking sage joint. Very strong drinks here but if that’s your thing then you’ll be happy. 9/10

The best bar in San Francisco it has beautiful music all the alcohol you can name. The barman are very professional, and I had a very good time there. I recommend it.

TLDR; This place is a joke!! Cocktails taste more like mock-tails, Security is sitting at the bar drinking on the job and the guy with glasses with previous bad reviews (the owner) thinks he's entitled to a tip after being rude and disrespectful. San Francisco is such a beautiful and vibrant city. Skip this place! If you want a good time, good service and good drinks. GO ELSEWHERE. Honestly, wasn't gonna review until I did some digging and realized the shitty/rude service I received here isn't that uncommon. As a restaurant worker myself, tips are not obligatory, they're based on hospitality and service. So if you feel confident enough to provide shitty service with a side of rudeness and attitude; please be ready to receive the same type of tip. $0. *Save yourself the discomfort and skip this place* To the owner: don't get butt hurt and petty when you provide shitty and rude service and don't get a tip. Hope you never receive the same type of treatment at any establishment when you go out. Based off of reviews, find help and figure out your personal problems. Stop taking it out on your customers.

Love this place, first time here and it started off kind of slow but at around 9:30pm everything picks up. The music was great, the vibes were great, the ambiance is great, & the owner was awesome. I used to go to a lot of lounges back home and this one is equivalent to my favorite one back home. I'm definitely going to come back & highly recommend checking it out also.

Came by on Sunday for Cinco De Mayo around 5-6pm for an hour-ish and vibes were overall chill but the DRINKS were the highlight!!! First round of drinks, I wanted to try some of the fun ones on the menu. I got the Purple Rain which had such cute presentation, you poured the "Purple" syrup on top of the drink for that rain effect. It was not to sweet, but not too strong. Then, we saw some people next to us enjoying margaritas that had those mini Don Julio 1942 shots in them...I curiously asked them what they got. Me expecting these drinks to be like $40 each, I was shocked to hear them say "These were $20 each!" WOW. So worth it. We weren't able to stay for the live band, but I must say these were some of the best drinks I've had and that margarita made the whole day worth it. This place is on the smaller side, street parking for the most part, and located next to a brewery as well so keep that in mind!

Came by on a Thursday evening with a group of five close to closing. The owner, Rob, was in the process of cleaning the bar up, as I'm sure last call had probably been given, but was very welcoming and kind enough to still let us order a round of cocktails. Despite being the only one working and a number of the ingredients packed away, Rob expeditiously, prepared each of the cocktails we ordered with a high level of attention and care. Reggae - Jamaican rum, Zaya rum, coconut, orgeat, lime, pineapple, Jamaican bitters - strong and delicious tiki cocktail. I'm in my rum era and this drink was definitely for me. Not overly strong in flavor and not overly sweet either. Great presentation. Been to Dahlia a number of times and it's definitely a go to bar for me. Three different rooms with three different aesthetic styles. Friendly staff, good live DJ music, and dope vibes.

I recently celebrated my birthday here! It's a newer tequila lounge that just opened up in the mission district. There's two parts to the lounge - the front area is where they play more Hispanic music and their bottom room played hip hop and throwbacks! Which was my groups vibe - we had a lot of fun dancing and enjoying their variety of tequila infused cocktails. I worked with the owner Rob on arranging bottle service and a table section for my group since we were such a large party (around 30 people) and the process was very smooth!

When it comes to lounges, I try to be as understandable and respectful as I can with the bartenders. I understand they deal with many energy throughout the day. That is something I consider before ordering a drink up in front. Was over here during a show for the homies. Ambience is sick, love it down here actually. Bartender ruined the night for me though. Brother with the glasses. Much love man, you probably had a rough day or week, I get it, we all get those days too. But it don't cost much to be patient and understanding with others during your rough days. Throughout the night, I struggled with my voice because of the day before, so I couldn't speak up. The bartender didn't hesitate but to be rude and misunderstanding. I kept trying to get his attention through my phone notes (best way to communicate with him that night), but paid no attention. And when he would, he would just come through with a negative energy. Couldn't keep his cool together. Wish I could say the opposite about that experience, but I can't make this up. Yup, the night got weird after that.

This location is fire!!! We always have an awesome time at this place. The entire staff is friendly and service is on point.

I had to officially check out Dahlia's after visiting for a yelp elite event. Great vibes and good atmosphere. The DJ was grooving and knew exactly how to keep the vibes going. I got two margaritas which rounded out to $30 dollars. They were very very good! Overall, I love that the bar is black owned and they are staying true to themselves. Good R&B nights in SF are hit and miss but Dahlias knows how right do it. I for sure plan on going back soon.

Went for Reggae night on Sunday. Ended up hanging with the owner and bartender and had a great night! Drinks were delicious! Heavy pour so make sure you have a ride.

This place is cool. Came here for a couple of drinks after dinner on a Friday night around ~10pm. It wasn't so full and we got a table. They have a DJ and were playing good electronic music. Their cocktails were good too. Later on in the night, the lounge seems to turn more into a club vibe and you can buy bottles/tables. The music changed to more hip hop which is not really my vibe and it got crowded in there. But by that time we had already had a couple of drinks and we decided to leave. Check this place out if you like a good cocktail bar with a good vibe and some music!

Drink favorites: purple rain, reggae (strong tropical cocktail, comes in a fun tiki cup) - in general I think they have a good range of cocktails but they lean on the stronger side Service: good, quick Vibes: it's quite grungy and gilded which I didn't expect from the name of the bar but i like it! I really want to love Dahlia. It's obvious the owners put a lot of work into building a classy and fun space. The folks at the door are very friendly. I can't tell if it's the clientele or the service but there's something about this space that feels unwelcoming.

This is a nice establishment, the music was good but the vibes didn't do it for me. Luckily I was able to get a table for my group but looking around, it was a lot of young f*ckboy energy. I also witnessed a bouncer on Friday, May 31, 2024, be very disrespectful to a young woman, saying how men don't want her. Yes, she was wildin out, yelling cuz she was upset about being kicked out and being disrespected. I don't know the situation but I think as an extension of the establishment, you should be professional and not cuss out some young woman. It felt like a ghetto spot that I may not want to come back to in the future.

I haven't been back to this space since it was the Armory Club...that was owned by a BDSM p*rn company. The fifty shades of things I was hoping to see never happened because it was a bar BUT just cross the street to the "kink castle"...and prepare to *clutch your pearls*. Those days of the Armory are long gone but walking into Dahlia Lounge, you still get that dark and sexy vibe with the tin tile ceilings and red neon IG signs. Visited Dahlia Lounge for afterwork drinks. You can reserve a table on Yelp but after 9 pm, there's a $250 minimum. M E N U Craft cocktails with an extensive spirit list. Bottle service available. The craft cocktails ($16) are photogenic...we're talking foam art, butterfly adorned, and smoke bubble crowned cocktails. HH Specials, 5 pm - 8 pm: Beer, wine, and well drinks. A M B I A N C E Dark and sexy with IG walls - front illuminated bar area has a handful of lounge tables and there's also back room pass the hallway. Love the EDM playlist - David Guetta, Illenium, Marshmello, Robin Schulz, etc. There's a DJ later in the evenings. P A R K I N G Tough street parking but there's a lot just up the block on 14th towards Valencia ($20 flat fee). Def recommend taking an Uber or Lyft tho. Overall, Dahlia Lounge is great cocktail bar with awesome service and vibe during HH. Def a hot date place for dranks before... ;)

On 12/8/24 around 1:30am, I stood with the owner and his group of his friends to stay after hours. This was the second time I had entered the space and the lightskin security guard, around 6'5", recognized me and granted me entrance inside. At closing time the same security guard, yelled in my face. I tried to plead with him that I was with the people right behind the security guard. After I stood still, trying to call over my group of people, the security guard put both hands on my torso and threw me to the floor. I tried to get up again and he shoved me again. As I tried to stand up, he grabbed me by my clothes and yanked me onto the side walk. He then, quickly led the scene. I did not put up a physical fight outside but claimed that the situation was discrimination and homophobia (I was one of the only predominantly Gay presenting customers present). Then, suddenly an employee runs outside to apologize. I silenced them with my reply of" you are not allowed to talk now, after your security decided to get physical first". this same security guard, shortly left with two women inside the bar. my knee is currently bleeding in my Uber.

Come for the insta photos not the alcohol. Service- 3.5/5 you have to go up to the bar even though they have menus on the individual tables. The staff is standard. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about Ambiance- 4.5/5 very cute and IG worthy. Their drinks are also very pretty. Music can be loud but fits the vibe well. I think they were setting up for live music ? Not super crowded when we went (Friday night) Drinks- 2/5 they weren't bad but they just tasted like juice. Very standard for non-alcoholic drinks except that we ordered alcohol haha. They are also standard SF prices and for that amount of money I expect to at least feel a little buzzed after. Overall won't be coming back since there are so many other options that surpass this one

Ambiance, ambiance, ambiance! This place sure hits the target. Came in for a quick drink while waiting for our Uber. Bartender was very friendly with great conversation. Came on a Wednesday evening so the vibes were very laid back. Def a place to check out for a date night.

Dahlia Lounge was a cute cocktail bar that my friends and I stopped at while waiting for our dinner reservations. We made it in time for their happy hour menu and I got the "Bossa Nova" for $10. I had no complaints about the drink at all. Their interior was sooo cute, see photo attached. I loved the skull and red rose theme! It was very chill vibes when we went at around 7:30. However, from reading previous reviews, it seems that it gets much more fun the later the night gets. I'll have to come back and check it out at a later time to see the nighttime vibes! Will visit again soon!

TLDR: Great drinks, fabulous decor, and super easy to work with for planning a party! I was looking for a spot to host a friend's "death-to-their-twenties" 30th birthday party and found Dahlia through a venue rental site. I called and was put in touch with the owner, Rob, who was super friendly and responsive, and gave us a few options that could work for our group of ~15 people. We ended up reserving the small back room for a Sunday and it was the perfect fit and price for our budget. The decor was right on point for our theme and I brought some of our own party decorations to personalize the space. Rob set up a table for us to stage our food and cake (since they don't serve food, we were able to bring in what we liked!) and we ordered drinks from Chloe at the front bar. Cocktails were tasty and the $5 beer special was a nice bonus. The layout worked well for our plans - we played a murder mystery game and it felt like we had our own space to do our thing, but also weren't totally isolated from the rest of the venue, which wasn't too crowded. It filled up a bit more towards the later part of the evening when they have a live reggae band and a DJ. Overall, a great experience start to finish! I coordinate all sorts of events and conventions, so I really appreciate when it's easy to work with someone on planning. Rob and his staff were relaxed, flexible, and friendly. Definitely recommend Dahlia as a place to host your party or event, or just to stop in for a drink!

I went there and bought two drinks around 34 ish dollars ... I tipped as I normally would around 15% and two days later my card had a notification saying I tipped 115% so I called and asked a manager who claimed he would help me he even had me text him his information because he was too busy to talk to me... and then claimed to give me some of my money back and that never happened. I am extremely disappointed with the way this was handled. I wish I could leave a review with not even one star for not being honest.

Went here for a private event and Niko was awesome behind the bar! Quick and delicious drinks and a whole ass vibe to be honest. 11/10 would recommend.

Went on a Saturday night. Reminded me of all my favorite places that didn't come back after Covid. Cool without being pretentious, great music, good service, good drinks, ability to lounge if you want to lounge upstairs, or dance up a pool of sweat if you want to dance in the basement. Diverse crowd, 26-36 (+/-) age group. Looking forward to seeing what the other nights are all about.

Dahlia Lounge is a great place to grab drinks, especially during happy hour. The specialty drinks were so unique and the price range for their cocktails were around $14-$16 outside of happy hour. Service was also good, I didn't wait long for my drink. I ordered purple rain and it came with a lychee butterfly tea syrup you pour into the drink for a creative color effect. The drinks were also STRONG (which could be good or bad depending on the person haha). There is also some seating by the bar and open area. Overall I had a great time, the interior was decorated well, drinks were good, and service was great!

Drinks are decent, space is really good, interior is good etc but music is atrocious. Last time we were here, dj mikey was playing it was really good. Brought my froends here we were all disappointed.

What a fantastic experience. Dahlia has the best deco of any bar in San Francisco. And the cocktails were fantastic as well. The only miss is they are short handed on bartenders. Highly recommended for interesting and innovative cocktails. We had the Ipanema, Cumbia, and Blues.

Stumbled in here on the way to the Victoria Theatre and I ended up loving it more than I thought! The vibe in here is the best. The decor is super cute! The drinks are also super yummy! Rob our bartender was super knowledgable about the drinks and what is best for your tastes!

I used to come to this spot when it was the armory club, and overall it has a very similar vibe, with a refreshing update to the cocktail menu. I ordered the crooner, which was a coffee/chocolate drink and it was fabulous! My friends and I all got different drinks and it was a real spectacle watching the bartenders do their magic. They really put a lot of thought and details into each and every drink, and I respect that! Highly recommend checking this place out!

Super fun cozy bar. Drinks are delicious, vibe is great. Love that there is a DJ- music is fun and high energy. I'd highly recommend coming here for the start of your night out in Mission. Haven't experienced the late night vibe but I can see this possibly becoming dance-y and exciting!

I am a woman of a certain age, not glamorous, not hip. I have reached the age when it becomes easy to be invisible in society. The bartenders at Dahlia's were uniformly friendly, attentive, and...just interested in the human sitting in front of them. The decor is fresh and gothic (if something can be both at the same time), the music was great, and I am excited that this place is within walking distance of home.

They have been open for about 8 months, but have only been doing soft openings. I loved the vibe, energy, and aesthetic of this bar/lounger. Definitely, going to make Dahlia Lounge a new go to of mine when either ending or starting the night. Their drinks were all amazing, strong, and high quality which I definitely appreciate! Staff and bartenders were kind and very helpful -- They provided great service. They also have a live band and music which makes this place so cool and unique. Cannot wait when this place's official grand opening! Ya'll pass by for a drink and see for yourself. I love the layout of this place basically there's a down stairs area, back area, and front. Great place for everyone to either dance, chill, or change of environment or mood ---- We actually went the other night and the music in the back room was so BAY (More Hip Hop + R&B + 2000s R&B Throwbacks and Bay Area songs) -- Lounges don't have good music like this anymore so my girls and I definitely appreciated that! I would highly recommend this place and cannot wait until the grand opening and wouldn't mind coming here to chill and have a few drinks then go to the back room to dance and enjoy!

Great spot for beautiful and tasty drinks! Chloe was above and beyond with her drinks very perfectionist! I will definitely become a regular at this lounge!

A great vibe, pretty place and plenty of seating! The drinks are also really good and decently priced. The bartenders were friendly and were attentive. Look forward to coming here for the live music and dj in the evenings!

I popped in here on my way to the Eagle to see my husband. The vibe was so energetic. People were here to have a good time , and the bartenders where here to make that happen. They have a great selection of whiskeys and a fairly concise list of specialty cocktails, which I like. Don't give me 100 choices. I had a whiskey Rocks. And enjoyed my time here. This is a great way to keep the energy of the old armory Bar going. 100% if you're at the Kink armory for any events - pop in here before or after.

One of my favorite after work hangouts. The ambiance is so inviting and the drinks are amazing. I was served today by the beautiful Kimani and really had the best time. Music is upbeat without drowning out conversations. 10/10 recommend even thought Rob is a Cowboys fan. Being new to the city this establishment has always made me feel welcome.

Dahlia is amazing little place with a downstairs dance floor when you want to sweat off a couple pounds :-) The Ambience is amazing and the Bartenders are Mixologists because they care about the satisfaction of their customers. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is welcoming and warm. You can meet people or you can just chill and enjoy the music and catch a vibe

Dark, late night spot with pretty standard drink selection. This bar has fun bartenders who are very accommodating and helpful. They have live music which really makes this bar a bit more lively.

JM is an amazing drink artist, a fast bartender and all around great guy. It feels like I'm hanging out with a (very talented) friend whenever I visit.

An amazing place to have a celebration or just enjoy a nice cocktail. Organized a birthday celebration here with the manager Rob. He is a pro and took care of all the details. Everyone had a memorable evening and I look forward to more celebrations at Dahlia!
