"Hand roll-style sushi and bowls of piping hot ramen are the name of the game at Daijobu. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu has selections like scallop with yukari furikake or toro tuna with green onion hand rolls, bowls of tonkotsu, spicy tan tan, and miso ramen, and a selection of shareable small plates. This is a mix and match kind of spot, perfect for a date night or evening out with friends." - Matt Lardie

"Kaiju Bowl and Bao made its way onto the dining scene at the inaugural Thrive NC food festival headlined by award-winning chefs Ashley Christensen and Vivian Howard in May. The eatery will finally open its brick and mortar at 170 E. Davie St. for lunch Friday, July 6. It will only be open for lunch for the entirety of the month." - Katie Toussaint

As longtime denizens of the neighborhood, we have seen many try and fall short of creating noteworthy dining. Daijobu is a welcome exception, far exceeding any expectations we had, as well as exceeding any dining experience in Raleigh. The quality and attention to detail in everything they have created has no peer in this region. My only concern is that the presence of this superlative restaurant will increase the rent in the neighborhood.

Found this place when wandering around. This ramen is very different from what I’ve had before but I was BLOWN AWAY!! Everything was perfect from the broth to the noddles to the meat and fixings. It was also a very classy atmosphere that also felt cozy and inviting. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend and I can’t wait to come back and try some hand rolls!

Daijobu is a welcome addition to the downtown food scene. A tastefully decorated, moody ambiance, modern furniture, and a friendly “Hello” greet you as you enter the door. The menu is simple in the best way, guiding you to a delicious dining experience. The hand rolls are elegant and pure, and we were encouraged to eat immediately after being delivered to our table so that the nori was as crunchy as possible. Small plates like spicy octopus and tempura mushrooms whet the palate before the triumph of the evening: their ramen bowls. You will not be disappointed if you’re looking for a hearty, fatty broth with melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork, a lean chicken broth with tender noodles, or spicy miso with tender beef strips.

The vibe here is so cool—think cozy decor that’s perfect for a date night. I’m not too sure about their sushi bc i haven’t tried the sushi, but I’ve had their ramen twice, and both times it was amazing. The white broth, Daijobu Tonkotsu, is rich and flavorful, and the Spicy Miso was ao good. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of the ramen I had in Japan. If you’re a ramen lover, you definitely need to check this place out. I also tried the Crispy Rice with Tuna! So good! Plus, the customer service is top-notch. The staff is always super welcoming and friendly. ✨🍜

Raleigh's best kept secret and hope it stays that way so the wait times don't skyrocket. I love ramen and have always prayed that Raleigh gets a place that knows how to make Ramen well. From the broth to the meat and noddles, they have perfected everything. Better than every ramen place in the area (I have tried all). Get the spicy tan tan if you love spicy. If you don't eat pork they will sub the pork chasu for chicken chasu or strip and also has chicken broth. I went on a Friday night at 7 and had to wait about 15ish minutes to get a table. Very small and cozy place so be prepared to wait. No reservations and the entire party must be present to be seated.

This place was absolutely AMAZING! Some of the best Ramen in Raleigh! The ambiance was very secluded and the decor was very modern. I’m returning for a date night with my hubby. The waiter was very attentive and friendly! Each time she arrived at my table she had a smile on her face. If you wonder if you should try this restaurant, don’t worry any longer hurry and try NOW!

So happy that we have another option for sushi lovers in Raleigh! They offer the hand roll experience which i love ❤️ i sat at the bar and ordered 2 hand rolls - 1 toro and 1 scallop. The chef served it on the plate right in front of me and after i finished the first one, he started making the 2nd hand roll. I loved the scallop hand roll better than the toro. I feel like usually the toro just melts in your mouth but i didn’t quite have that experience today (but it’s still good 👍🏻) the tempura enoki is good with some sweet and savory sauce at the bottom of the bowl. The cripsy rice with salmon is also great - the rice is crispy with a little kicks of spice from the spicy mayo. The service is also great as the server, Brian, who makes sure to refill drinks, check on the foods etc. I’ll def come back to try their ramen next time 🍜

I mostly miss this restaurant because it has little reviews. I wish the signage of the restaurant would be more visible. The food is amazing and delicate! I ordered the Ramen and hand roll. I have to add dessert to know the overall experience. Everything is amazing. Highly recommend!
