12 Hottest Restaurants in the Triangle, February 2025

"Hand roll-style sushi and bowls of piping hot ramen are the name of the game at Daijobu. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu has selections like scallop with yukari furikake or toro tuna with green onion hand rolls, bowls of tonkotsu, spicy tan tan, and miso ramen, and a selection of shareable small plates. This is a mix and match kind of spot, perfect for a date night or evening out with friends." - Matt Lardie

Edit May 20: I loved this place so much, I made sure on my birthday trip to NC, we came back to it. Brought my group of friends and they all loved it so much. And it was a nice crowd on a Tuesday night!! They even gave me a complimentary dessert of Italian ice with honey. Best ramen ever!! Found this place when wandering around. This ramen is very different from what I’ve had before but I was BLOWN AWAY!! Everything was perfect from the broth to the noddles to the meat and fixings. It was also a very classy atmosphere that also felt cozy and inviting. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend and I can’t wait to come back and try some hand rolls!

Loved this so much! Super yummy and great atmosphere! Very good for a date night. A bit smaller on the inside than expected but the food was incredible. We got the Spicy Miso Ramen and absolutely loved it! We also tried the Truffle Edamame and it was so delicious

Wow, so good. The menu was different and simple. I love how they focus on the quality of the flavors more than just putting a bunch of stuff on their. I especially enjoyed the sushi bar. The chef was a delight to talk to. We will be back with our teens.

This is one of the places that has the best service and food around Raleigh. It was our first time coming here to celebrate a birthday and we left feeling warm from the soup and happy about the service we received. Thank you DAIJOBU! We will be back soon !

Loved the ramen and hand rolls. So glad we have a new spot in the area. I tried the trio (salmon, yellowtail and crab). I enjoyed them all except the crab hand roll. Felt a bit fishy imo.

Google
This place was absolutely AMAZING! Some of the best Ramen in Raleigh! The ambiance was very secluded and the decor was very modern. I’m returning for a date night with my hubby. The waiter was very attentive and friendly! Each time she arrived at my table she had a smile on her face. If you wonder if you should try this restaurant, don’t worry any longer hurry and try NOW!

Yelp
Service was great! The foods came out quickly. One small thing for me was the small space. You need to try to get there early to have a table. Overall, we really enjoyed the foods from appetizers to main dishes to desserts. As far as the menu goes, you also need to scan the QR code to review it. Appetizers: Salmon and crab handrolls: delicious and fresh. Menchi katsu: crispy fried ground beef patty with curry sauce. It was very delicious as well. Came out steamy hot so we had to wait a few mins before devouring it. Ramen bowl: my husband and I ordered the Daijobu Tonkotsu bowls. The broth was milky like. It was smooth and rich. Everything that came in the bowl complimented each other very well. Dessert: we had black sesame creme brûlée. It was my favorite though my husband was not really impressed by it.

Yelp
Wow! This place... where do I begin! The location and ambiance of the establishment was PERFECT!!! The service was exceptional, the food was out of this world. Super fresh and flavorful. I can't wait to go back! This place is good for a date night, girls night or lunchtime. We had the salmon and crab hand-rolls, crispy enoki, Tonkotsu ramen and the spicy miso ramen.

Yelp
Daijobu was such a great dining experience! We were so excited that a new ramen spot opened up in Raleigh. We got the crispy enoki to start and then ordered the daijobu tonkatsu and spicy tan tan. both dishes were delicious and the service was great. the food came out in a timely manner. The restaurant was on the smaller side but felt very cozy. We came for lunch on a weekday and had no wait. I would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Delicious food! Came here for a birthday celebration with a party of 6 and we were seated immediately on a weekday evening. We were seated in the middle table so there was another party next to us, but this wasn't an issue. We got multiple orders of the crispy enoki and crispy rice with spicy salmon and it was delicious! I got the tori shio ramen and it was very yummy. Perfect spot for a night out with friends or date night

Yelp
DAIJOBU had some excellent ramen and they hand rolls were fresh and delicious. The ramen was well flavored, traditional egg noodles. I ordered the spicy tan tan. Service was great as well. We had just got there before the lunch rush so we were sat and served right of way. It's a smaller restaurant, so keep that in mind. I think it'd be a nice place for a date and to kick off a night out in downtown Raleigh. We stopped in at Sir Walters Coffee across the street afterwards.

Yelp
Pretty top tier new ramen joint in town. Great atmosphere and service. We had the spicy tan tan and the tonkastu, along with the octopus appetizer and their hand rolls. Everything was fresh and flavorful, noodles were al dente. Hand rolls were fresh. It was pretty filled and seaweed crunchy. Will definitely return. :)

Yelp
Very quiet and intimate setting downtown Raleigh. The Handrolls were delicious starters, our favorite was the Yellowtail. We enjoyed the Tonkotso Ramen and the Spicy Tan Tan which was properly spicy! The Ramen was some of the best we have ever experienced and will definitely return to try the other Handrolls and starters. We also ordered the Spicy Tako Wasabi and unfortunately are not fans of raw octopus.

Yelp
Place is small, so there isn't a lot of seating. We were lucky enough to get right in. The food was really good. Servers were friendly. We really enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
This is Raleigh's most underrated gem. Although I kind of hope it stays that way so I can always get a table by walking in, it's just too good to keep secret. Came here on a Tuesday night for a hot bowl of ramen and some handrolls. My favorite handroll bars are in NYC and it's been a few months since I've traveled and I was desperately craving them. I googled to see if there were any handrolls nearby in the RDU area and I was surprised to find Daijobu. It looked to be pretty new with not that many reviews so I was a little skeptical. We were seated promptly and the inside of the restaurant is smaller but very nice. The service was great and the food came out quickly. We got the menchi katsu to start and it was fried perfectly and the katsu sauce was delicious. I went for the 4 handroll set and was blown away. The fish was incredibly fresh and tasty. I love the crispy seaweed paper and the scallop and crab were my favorite of all the handrolls. We also wanted to try their ramen so we got the daijobu tonkatsu and considering it started blizzarding outside, it was just what we needed. The broth was an umami bomb--garlic, salt, savory, very rich and tasty. The chasu was cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth. The soft boiled egg, mushrooms and veggies were a welcome addition and the noodles had the perfect bite and chew to them. Safe to say, I've found my new favorite restaurant and handroll spot that I won't have to take a flight to get to! The prices are also pretty decent for the outstanding quality you get. I can't wait to be back.

Yelp
Highly recommend this spot! I'm not a huge sushi fan but the ramen and appetizers were fantastic. I moved from NYC and miss the vibes of the restaurants there and this felt very similar. It's a smaller space but it's beautiful and very well organized. We didn't have to wait and the service was good. I would definitely come back

Yelp
A pleasant surprise to find this while looking for ramen in downtown Raleigh. We were able to get seated right away at the bar and were served quickly. It's a cute little space that is cozy and intimate for a date or meal together.

Yelp
Best bowl of ramen in Raleigh. I ordered the spicy miso. The cuts of meat were quality, the noodles were chewy and tasty, and the broth was excellent. I will be going again soon!

Yelp
Was excited to try this new Ramen place but was disappointed! I ordered their Tonkotsu Ramen, but the noodles were too soggy, it ruined the experience for me!

Hannah S.

Yelp
This is now our new favorite ramen place in Raleigh and perhaps NC. Usually we would drive all the way to Charlotte for Menya ramen, but this place is even better. The chasu is sliced thin. The broth is rich and creamy, but not too oily. The noodles have the perfect texture and cling to the broth nicely. The tonkotsu also has menma which is fermented bamboo shoots and completed the dish as a whole. Lastly, the egg was nicely marinated but not too sweet (which I prefer). Overall, their tonkotsu ramen is definitely a proper ramen and despite their name being "Daijobu," which means "it's okay," I think this place is quite beyond with both the food and atmosphere.

Yelp
Phenomenal place. Ambiance was excellent, service was excellent, and the ramen was the best I've had since Japan. Without a doubt the best ramen I've had on the east coast.

Yelp
Best ramen in Raleigh. Hand roll also killer. Don't sleesleep on on the fried enoki mushrooms.
