"A ramen spot on the Sunset Strip, Daikokuya is one of the area’s more affordable options, and it’s an especially cheap place to drink during Happy Hour, with $10 Asahi pitchers and discounted sake. The Deal: $3 draft beers, bottled beers, and sake, $10 pitchers, food specials. When: Daily 3-6pm." - Brett Keating

"Maybe you’re not looking for fancy food and/or pools with DJs. If you’re just cutting across town and need a quick and affordable meal, go eat some soup at Daikokuya. The classic ramen spot opened fairly recently on Sunset, but the quality is just as high as the original in Little Tokyo. Also, the interior is dark and quiet, making it the perfect place to hide away and eat a bowl of noodles by yourself." - Brant Cox

"When it comes to eating on the Sunset Strip, your options are generally overpriced hotel restaurants and bacon-wrapped hot dogs from street carts. But one place that finds the middle ground is Daikokuya. One of LA’s best ramen spots, Daikokuya has expanded rapidly around town, but their quality hasn’t dropped a bit. Plus, their Sunset location is dark and intimate, with the same level of kitschiness as their original Sawtelle location. All the ramen hovers around the $12 mark." - Brant Cox

Great food for decent price! I got the noodles, salad, and rice combo. I ordered the dipping style and the noodles were so good. While I wish the soup was warmer, I loved how the noodles had perfect bite! Eggs were slightly over cooked. I ordered the salmon rice bowl. Fish was fresh!

They have vegan ramen! Yum! I was surprised at how slow it was when I went for dinner one night. There were only 2 other tables. Service is good and fast. There is parking on the roof, accesible vía the side street up the hill. The restaurant will provide validation if you ask. Lots of cool vintage-looking Japanese decor.

Nothing special. It tastes good. But I find it wierd they dont give you garlic and they dont have white onions. Every ramen place Ive ever been to has onions.

My first bowl of ramen in LA did not disappoint. Bowl was packed with flavor and pork fat. Not a complex bowl but solid bold flavors with great noodles.

Great ramen and fast service! My friend and I came on a Monday night and it started getting busy around 7:15. The gyoza and ramen were both very good, had a very distinct pork taste if you like pork.

I had the tsukemen. Wanted to love it but it was actually just okay. Good quantity but the flavor is not strong. Kai Ramen on La Cienega has better tsukemen in my opinion.

Great ramen joint in sunset blvd. Tonkotsu ramen get the one with more flavor if you want strong pork flavor or extra noodle.

Ordered this ramen and split shared half as it’s HUGE!! Also, ordered yellowtail sashimi and a spicy tuna roll. The rolls and sashimi were fresh and tasty as I would expect from a place but the ramen just won out! It was spicy (I added even more sriracha and chilli oil) and it tasted so good!!! Definitely worth eating. Wished I took pic of the dishes. Was so hungry and I just devoured it!! Lol
