A cozy cafe dishing out exceptional breakfast sandwiches, crullers, and tasty coffee, perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed hangout.
"The creamy hot cocoa from Daily Provisions is made with chocolate ganache, which makes it notably smooth and velvety. They also have a vanilla marshmallow you can add to your cup for an extra dollar, which is a little annoying, but you should do it nonetheless. It’s so soft you’ll wonder if what you’re tasting can legally be considered food." - will hartman, carina finn koeppicus, nikko duren
"Breakfast Gougères "That breakfast gougère is just genius. I have a gougère recipe in my first cookbook, which I wrote in 1972, because they're magical and easy to make. But the idea of filling them with warm scrambled eggs with a little bit of cheese in it is such a genius notion. The gougère itself is basically eggs and a little water that you're mixing up and then making into, basically, a popover. But at Daily Provisions, it's eggs made into completely different textures—a perfect way to start the day." - brennan carley
"If you’ve never had a cruller from Daily Provisions, let the miracle of Hanukkah be your sign to get one ASAP. Their Sufganiyot Crullers are filled with strawberry jam and rolled in lemon-infused sugar, and you can pre-order them here in boxes of 6 or 12 until the 19th. " - carina finn koeppicus
"In a perfect world, there would be a Daily Provisions in every neighborhood (and not just by Union Square and on the UWS). This all-day counter-service spot has a few high tops on their sidewalk where you can bring your excellent pastries, juicy rotisserie chickens, and simple but delicious sandwiches. Make sure to come early if you’re set on trying the crullers, and no matter what time of day, get a sandwich - the BEC, the BLT, and the roast beef are our favorites." - hannah albertine
"If you haven’t been to the original Daily Provisions in Union Square, know that the excitement around it is more than justified (and not just for the crullers). Their new uptown location has the same juicy rotisserie chicken, incredible sandwiches, and pastries, with the added bonus of more seating. To get a cruller, you’ll have to come early, but otherwise you should use this spot whenever you want something light and quick on a weeknight, or at 11am on a Sunday when the only thing that can get you out of your apartment is a bacon, egg, and cheese (and your dog)." - hannah albertine, matt tervooren
