No idea why this place averages 3.4 stars. ...Just left with a big ass blizzard, food is good and the people were pleasant. Really can't beat that for fast food! I'll be back, thanks guys for busting as* so we can eat out here! God is so so good!

Waited in line at the drive through for an hour, got so upset I just got out and ordered in the store at that itself lead to more waiting, horrible experience will probably never come to this location again, employees were slow, acknowledging of their OBVIOUS issues/lack of training/attitudes. Moving at snails pace to make one cone and one blizzard. Hour and almost 30 minute wait is absolutely unforgivable and ridiculous .These employees clearly have ZERO idea what they are doing and need to be trained/retrained or SOMETHING.

The guy was rushing but not listening to my order. I get to the window and he ask me my order again many times as he made the order. The banana split that I ordered had more toppings then ice cream. Very little icecream and looked like it had been setting for awhile. For a small Confetti dipped cone, banana split and a large drink (which was the wrong drink after asking at least 4 times at the window) was $15.65 which is way over priced according to the prices I saw. And this is the type service I get after waiting in the drive thru for 45 minutes.

On 4/19/2025 at around 4:30 I came with a group to have dinner.we have handicap plates. However the only handicap parking was taken by a truck that didn't have a blue handicap tag or plates. I went in the store to ask if it can be moved but no one responded. So I went back out and pulled back around and parked at a different place. After ordering I asked the cashier again if she knew who it belonged to. She then told me it belonged to the cook in the back. The lady then proceeded to tell me that they had already brought this up to the CEO's attention about moving th handicap spots because the place that their in makes it hard for people to get in and out. So because the handicap spots are in bad spots in the parking lot and people dont use them the employees park their cars there. If you're handicapped and really need the ramp DON'T come here. Lady at register was really nice for answering my questions though BUT I didn't appreciate them lying at first to cover a coworker. I was about to call the police and get the truck towed for that but I was really trying to get the CEO's info so we wouldn't take it there.

After spending 30 minutes in line at this DQ and having them repeat the order twice to assure that it was correct by the time I got it home it was wrong. Terrible service terrible waiting time through the window. I will never go back there again!

Stopped by for the first time in 18yrs and though the service was a little slow, the food was amazing and the staff was friendly. I had the best Dude sandwich ever! Well worth the wait! Can’t wait to stop by again!

This location is supposed to be open until 10pm but it closes the dining room at 9:25 pm. No signage to indicate this. We ordered our food at 8:50pm an employee constantly complaining of being tired said “Just to let you know the dining room closes at 9:25”😳 after we paid for the food…every other Dairy Queen closes at 11pm on Fridays. A gentleman rode his bike to DQ and the Tired Employee told him the dining room closed at 9:30pm and he had already served his last customer. The Gentleman asked, So I can’t get a burger or anything? Tired employee shook his head no. The customer left unserved and then we left. We observed from our car the tired employee tell sitting customers enjoying ice cream that they had to leave this was around 9:40pm instead of just locking the door. If this is a franchise it’s making DQ look bad.

I was disappointed. Fries were very oily from being dumped twice, hot and old. Burger was dry, not freshly cooked. Service was bland, no hello, by, or verified order. Ask for fresh cooked food!!

Worst location I've ever seen. I love DQ, but this makes me want to drive to the other side of the city to the other location. Over the past year I have had nothing but slow service and multiple times where "the kitchen is closed" too early. I arrived 40 minutes before closing and all I could get was ice cream. With three visible employees I still had to wait over 20 minutes to get it. I even saw the employee start, walk away for several minutes, and return to finish my blizzard.

Customer service is absolutely terrible. Went there today, I'm not a regular so i am not familiar with the menu. Was asked what I wanted to order and I asked for a minute while I took a look at the menu. The lady taking my order was rushing me the entire time. From the time I pulled up to the time I completed my order, may have been 5 minutes and there was no line until a few moments after I finished placing my order. She kept saying "what else, is that it?" & sighing, before I was able to finish my order. I only ordered 6 things. 2 ice creams 4 drinks and a burger. Before I ordered the last item that completed my order, she sighed a big sigh as if I was inconveniencing her. I get it may have not been ideal for her, but I too have been working in the customer service industry for 13 yrs and 6/7of those years, specifically In the food industry. There is absolutely NO reason for her to have been this impatient and rude with me. Even if I had been rude with her, which I wasn't, everyone knows the customer is always to be treated with respect. Trust me, I have had plenty of situations where the customer was not so pretty with me & I just swallowed what I had to say and did my best to de escalate the situation. If I had taken to much of her time or for any reason held up the line I could have been asked to pull back around, but in my case there were no cars until I completed my order and you could see inside that there were maybe 2-3 customers, none of which were in line ordering, all sitting down eating. I did wait until she finished handling my order and told her if she is that impatient when taking an order & doing what she was hired to do, she may need to look for another job. (Yes this comment could have been kept to myself, but she was just so rude with me & I had to let her know this was not okay. This was big for me as very rarely say anything, even if I'm dissatisfied with my service. You took too long, missing an item I ordered, etc., I let it go and take the loss, no big deal especially if it was inexpensive in which I will kindly point whatever it is out and ask if it's possible I get the item replaced or my order get refunded, but even then I don't even eat out much so this has rarely ever happened. ) Anyways, She responded with "well it depends on who orders" Isn't that exactly what discrimination is ?? Anyways, love the food but customer service is awful! Thanks

Food is great but the owners need to invest more money on the building! Oh my goodness! The vents are so dirty you can see something growing on them and the mirror in the ladies bathroom is cracked and not replaced. I was eating my sandwich and all of the sudden cockroach flew out from the air and landed on the table! Provide a good work environment so the workers feel proud of their workplace. So much potential

you may drive up to find all their lights on & a line of cars at the drive through, but the doors will be locked. so you wait in the drive though line burning gas until you finally get to the speaker & they'll ask to take your order, but then say, "sorry, were closed." it's happened to me a few times. their hours aren't posted & if you ask when a good time would be to get food, they'll say, "idk, it depends." I'd say you'd have to be lucky to actually get food here, but honestly it's not that good. the DQ on the other side of town is great. go there for your blizzards. this one isn't worth it. just let it die so something good can replace it.

God. Gross. For one they are slow and I get it. They have one cook. The food is here is mediocre. This is not the DQ of old. The quality is just not there. The staff here is always new. Obviously turn over is very high. They apparently don't pay enough for an employee to care about their job and it shows as soon as you order. The store is also always dirty and run down. And tonight I ordered a blizzard and ate one bite. On the second bite there was a LONG strand of blonde hair on my spoon. Why?!!! Come on. Disgusting. Will never go back and cannot recommend this location at all. The employees are not very well groomed at all. The guy and girl working both had long hair. No hairnets or anything. Ok it's DQ....not In and Out. But a girl had braids swinging all over the place. The sad thing is this location could be really great if the employee just cared a little more. I mean forget any kind of good customer service. You are lucky to just get your food. And hopefully there is no hair in yours. I wish there was a zero Star rating because that is what I would give this DQ. Zero stars.

Literally the cleanest DQ I have ever been to! Yes it looks old but my goodness it sparkles. You can smell the bleach when you walk it, but it isn't overpowering. The service is great, the food is fresh, hot, and delicious, and the ice cream is on point! Literally going to be my go to DQ for now on.

I have only recently reviews on companies due to poor poor customer service. Our forefathers built there businesses on customer service because they cared about the face of their business. There was internet, social media, cell phones etc... Just plain old good caring and appreciation of their customers who traded with them. Today, these companies like this dairy queen could not care less of the service, just give me your hard earned money. I stopped today and ordered a steak finger as I've not had one in a long and saw the passing by and decided get one. I see why the reviews are terrible, I received my meal and went on to my office and I could gravy oozing out of the side of the crate and wondered why until opened the meal I so wanted. First, I've had this meal in the past and the gravy is typically in a container. The fact that someone their handed me my meal and it was slatted in the bag and no biggie till opened it. The woman who handed me my meal was a mature woman with dark hair. There is no way this mature woman did not know better, they actually put the gravy in the slots in the crate and handed to me. I opened my meal and gravy was all over the place, all over my onion rings and just drenched, disgusting right? I simply closed it and threw it in the trash, I'm not a dog. I'm a business owner here in Denton and these complaints I see make sense. I don't know if this one is corporate owned or individually owned, but I will call there corporate office because it's simply wrong to treat the public in such a way. Think twice before choosing this location. So after seeing the other reviews, which I'm sure whoever owns this Dairy Queen doesn't give a shit because they've been paid and won't address it's issues, they keep on taking money until we stop visiting and giving our money to them. I did not bother to shoot a photo at that moment because I was pissed and simply trashed it.

We have been to this location a handful of times in the past with pretty mixed results. Pretty much every time was a Sunday afternoon trip through the drive thru. Several visits in a row showed us inappropriately dressed teens (short shorts and bare stomachs while making food?) eating ice cream while taking orders. So we had not been back in a while. Someone had told me about the new Pumpkin Pie blizzard on Friday, so of course I was on a mission Saturday! We had gone to the location on University but when we caught them trying to stay closed and dodging customers, we decided they didn't need our business. Upon entering, we were both shocked at how clean the place was! We had not expected that from our drive thru trips. The floors, walls and tables were extremely clean. Everything was spotless, except for the stained ceiling tiles and the ice cream freezer, which had an old rundown appearance. I was kind of bummed this location didn't offer the $5 lunch deals or the $6 lunch deals, that made for an $18+ lunch. They did have the blizzard of the month, and THAT'S what mattered! My husband went with a Hunger Buster and fries, his hunger was indeed busted and he enjoyed his meal. My chicken strip basket did not come in a basket, but in a Styrofoam container... womp, womp! Perhaps they realized (correctly) that I wouldn't finish it? Maybe... but I wanted the nostalgia of my red plastic basket! Also, the food was hot, so my chicken actually melted several holes in the container near the gravy and I had to get a new container. You can't say they don't make the food to order! Well, you couldn't say that anyway... because the wait was pretty long, but that's cool with me if I'm getting hot, fresh food. My food was actually really good, I liked the chicken best with their honey mustard dipping sauce. The fries were fresh and I've always adored their Texas Toast. The three ladies that were working were very friendly too. This location doesn't seem to do uniforms, but the older woman running the shift was acting in a professional manner. A customer spilled some water and they were on that fast, no wonder the place is so clean! I guess they are turning this place around, or at least the Saturday lunch crew did a great job. Can we get on to the blizzard now?? Since I was ordering a larger meal than I initially expected to, I went with the mini for $2.99. You know, it really does look small, but it really is enough glorious, sugary, sweet Thanksgivingness to hit the spot and satisfy your craving, so I felt like I went with the right choice. Oh yeah, that Pumpkin Pie blizzard DOES taste like Thanksgiving! It has legit chunks of pumpkin pie mixed in! Say what??? The crust on that pie was amazing! Huh?? I spent way more time devoted to getting every lick of that blizzard than paying attention to my (hot and delicious) food. Well... yeah... that sounds like a typical trip to DQ actually. They did not hold my blizzard upside down, they just placed it on the counter. Probably smart since the whipped cream looked like it could slide off. They added a dash of nutmeg, nice finishing touch! This place exceeded my expectations in friendliness, cleanliness and food. They are on the slow side, so try to avoid being in a rush. The ice cream is legit delicious and I may have to rough some people up to keep getting that Pumpkin Pie blizzard during the off season. It's REALLY good, you should definitely stop by and try one out! You don't have to be a hardcore pumpkin lover to like this blizzard, I promise. I want to share the great news with others, but if they run out... I'm going to have to seriously consider closing my Yelp account. Check them out, just leave some for me! :)

My second visit to this establishment. It has maybe been a year since I last came here. The first impression was not good. I ordered food from a not so happy cashier lady. It made me feel uncomfortable to even order. The appearance has not changed nor improved inside and out. I came from a state where there were many DQ'S and none looked as in the sub-par condition as this one. The food was what you expect from a fast food joint. It was good but nothing to rant and rave about. Unfortunately, I cannot say anymore because there is nothing more to say about this place. I do not plan on visiting this particular DQ again.

Worst service ever, today I ordered a small snickerdoodle cookie dough and a LARGE SPRITE after I was about to pay I pulled out a rewards through the dq app and she just gave me an ugly attitude at me and I paid after that when I got my snickerdoodle it was taking awhile to get my LARGE SPRITE and I asked the lady "hey you forgot my large sprite" and she replied saying "it's cooking right now" I found that weird because I told her clearly it was a large sprite not fries, and whenever she brought out the fries I said I said LARGE SPRITE NOT FRIES she was giving me a attitude saying I swear you said fires but whatever and gave me an ugly look. If she hate this job just quit lol nobody is forcing her to work here.

They actually have a tip jar at the drive thru window. I can't imagine why anyone would tip when they don't even say 'hello' or 'thank you'. They are not welcoming or friendly. They all just dress however they want, no uniforms, which is a bit odd for a restaurant. Gravy is put in a to-go container WITHOUT lids, so careful if you order steak fingers or chicken strips. I certainly don't expect 5 star service from a fast food place, but could they at least pretend customers aren't interupting their day. I mean, they get paid because the business has customers paying to eat there, right?

Doesn't even deserve one star. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I waited ten minutes in line behind ONE car. I pull up to the window and the lady asked me what I ordered. I was frustrated because I was on my lunch break and needed to head back to work soon and I couldn't wait another ten minutes for a fucking junior cheeseburger and a water. I gave some attitude, the lady goes "why you make that face?!? Why you give me attitude?!? We're busy!!" Busy my ass. One fucking car you had to deal with and you didn't even get my order. I just drove off cause fuck that service. Waste of my time.

If I could rate this place no stars I would. It is the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been to. They are always so rude, no one wears gloves, they all look like they fell out of bed. They touch money then touch product. They never fully complete an item. It comes half done. The owner has the worst attitude I've ever seen. Not to mention I've been in line and they turned away cars after we were sitting there since well before 10pm. This place needs new ownership. Manage your store better and maybe you won't have such horrible reviews

Employees here have the worst attitude I've ever encountered. Very rude and very unfriendly. I hate my job and I hate you written all over their faces. It used to be pleasant to order food here but now you will leave upset. I'll go elsewhere from now on. The attitude is so bad here that the next time we want a blizzard, we will drive to the other side of Denton to the other more friendly Dairy Queen. This place needs new management/owner. I'm giving it two stars only because our food was good.

It clearly states they stay open til 10 yet I pull up at 9:30 and they already have the doors locked and the drive thru screen off. Be better ...It's unfortunate you've now lost yet another paying customer.

I go to DQ's for a Oreo blizzard with brownies. I can't express how much I had been wanting this blizzard all week and now that I had some free time on Saturday night I was sure to get one. I usually go to the Frisco location but I decided to take a nice drive and go to the DQ in Denton. This was the worst mistake I made last night. When I arrived there was indeed a long line, but I didn't mind because I wasn't in any rush and really wanted the blizzard. It took me about 15 minutes to get the intercom to order. When I was asked what I wanted I stated "I would like an Oreo blizzard with" and then was rudely cut off with "what size." I politely said "oh, I wasn't finished". I started to repeat myself and she did the exact same thing. I looked up at her, as I could see her through the window and she clearly had attitude and was doing hand gesture's for me to hurry up and answer her question and rolling her eyes. I took a deep breath and got through my three orders one of which was vanilla ice cream in a cup with sprinkles on top. I pulled up to the window and handed her my debit card. She didn't greet me or say anything. Now, I'm watching through the window the 3 workers fill orders slower than I've ever seen anyone work, with the young lady who took my order making mines. She comes back to the window with the vanilla ice cream in a cup WITHOUT sprinkles. I kindly advise "I ordered this with sprinkles" and with much more attitude she says "I'll get you a side of sprinkles and you can put it on yourself." So at this point I took another deep breath and I'm watching like a hawk as she is SLOPPILY throwing my blizzard together. I've watched my blizzards made before and she barely blended it including my other blizzard. She brings it to me "doesn't do the flip test" and when I I looked at my poorly made blizzards I stated "I would like a refund." She rolls her eyes and say "well, you're going to have to give me the stuff back." I stated "that's no problem." As I handed her the first two items back she snatches them out of me hand very aggressively. Before I handed her the final item I advised "please do NOT snatch this out of my hand. I've been extremely tactful, patient, and nice throughout this terrible customer service experience but if you snatch this last one from me I will lose all tact and will be right inside." She took heed to good advice and did not snatch the last blizzard from me. It took about 5 minutes to get the refund processed and since she didn't want to deal with me she had my card and receipt returned by another employee. I asked for the managers name and the young ladies name who took my order and I will make time to file a complaint with DQ headquarters about this location, as I can see this horrible experience I had is not unique to just me. Going to the location was a complete waste of time and a disappointment. I ended up driving to a Braums location in Frisco since the DQ Frisco location had closed for the night. The lines were longer but the service was so kind and professional and lifted my spirits back up. I will never go back to the DQ Denton location again.

This place is NASTY! I've never dealt with such rude disrespectful employees in my life. Non of them obviously want to be there and they act really annoyed and almost mad that you're there. Theirs a heavy set dark skinned women who seems like the manager and she has the worst attitude out of all of them. Blizzards are never blended and are about a third of the way full. If you order food expect to wait a good half hour. I've never had hot fresh fries from there so not sure what takes so long every time. I kept going because in general I love Dairy Queen, but this location is an embarrassment to the brand. I will now drive further to any other one but this place. Fire everyone, especially the manager and start over. Otherwise this place is a lost cause.

The boy working the window actually snapped his fingers at me when I pointed out that maybe he should write our order down this time. It is a shame how bad this place has gotten and corporate doesn't care.

The drive thru here is super slow and you are better off just going inside to order. If not, you will have to park and wait a good 15 minutes for someone to bring out your order. I tried the chicken strip country basket. The chicken strips were actually very good, and so was the Texas toast it came with. But the country gravy was not in a container, they just ladled it into the to-go container. It made everything super messy plus the gravy wasn't good at all, bland and flavorless. DQ still makes great food, but for this particular location, your better off going inside to eat.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. Yes this is an old building, but I found that quite charming. The employee that took our order was polite and it didn't take long for our order to be complete. I did notice that the employees don't wear uniforms, but no one was dressed unprofessionally. The inside was very well kept and very clean. It was nice for a Saturday treat.

I'd give zero stars if I could. I ordered a chocolate brownie extreme. Clearly the workers don't care enough to even give you the right thing. It's not even remotely mixed. They should just shutdown. I used to love DQ but it's no wonder Braums is kicking their butts. Do yourself a favor and don't stop at this location.

If you want horrible service and someone that can follow instructions come here . I said I only wanted Mayo and ketup no mustard as I'm allergic to mustard . Made that very clear . But ended up with a burger with only mustard .. ‍ I tried calling back several times but no answer . Didn't check it till I got home . They were not that busy so clearly don't understand . Will never come here again ..

Service here is in slow mo. They win the award for the slowest service of any fast food, hands down. Seriously, if you are in a hurry, don't stop here. They don't care how slow they are. We have stopped here several times and it is the same way time. SLOW! There is a Sonic next door. They have about the same type of food. We will go there or to the Jack in the Box in the next block next time.

If I could give zero stars I would! Do not come here! Service is so terrible and takes 25 min to get a blizzard through the drive thru. Tried to go in to order but they locked the doors 45 minutes early. Don't say your open until 10 if you lock the doors at 9:15. They really should shut this place down.

This is not "The Stop Sign In Texas" DQ. They do not honor any of the DQ specials and service is SO slow. No uniforms just any old T-Shirt will do. Tried to order a couple of items that are standard at MOST DQ's and all I received was no, we don't have that either. Even very limited on their ice cream menu. If you want a hamburger, nothing fancy, or blizzard (but not the special that is advertised all over Texas TV) then come here. Very dirty. When I went to pick up a couple of packets of ketchup for french fries, the packets are so gooey they stuck to my fingers. The workers just looked at me like "oh well". Not a very clean place. Will probably drive past this one from now one like I have done in the past!!

I went through the drive thru, the burger was good. The fries were really good even after driving home (about 15 mins). However, they "didn't have" the blizzard flavor that was listed literally first on the menu, and I had to pull into a spot and wait for them to come out with my order.

I have been to this location once before and it was ok. The lady at the counter never looks happy. With that being said, on the 2nd visit, we get there at 10:55am, thinking they will open at 11 for lunch? Nope. We see, from what I assume are her kids, watching phones and tablets at dining tables, with the woman (mom/employee) nowhere to be found. Its now 11:05, the woman employee comes from the back, looks at us standing there, then turns back around. Its now 11:10, and she never came back out to open the door. So with that being said, we just hopped in the car and left because she obviously didn't want to open the door for us. She looked like she didn't want to be there at all. Wont be coming back to this location.

I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. Where do I began. The drive thru wait was a long wait. We sat at the intercom for 15 min and nobody ever came to take our order. Then when we drive to the window to place an order then staff wanted us to drive back around and get in line again behind several other cars. Then we go in and I ask the staff why couldn't we just order at the window why do you want me to get at the end of the line after waiting 15 min for you never to come to intercom. The staff got into a huge argument with me stating they were busy and I'm disrespecting him/ her. That staff stated he/her was gonna come around the counter. I told them please do it. They never did but this was the most unprofessional fast did establishment ever. Another staff told me not to come back. Don't worry i won't. You choose to work at this establishment. At least have some integrity and pride about where you work. Everytime I've gone here the wait is ridiculously long, something is always wrong with my order, and all these workers are so rude. Other customers were walking out complaining about the service as well.

This place is filthy, the workers are all wearing their pjs, and they have absolutely no customer service no matter how nice I was!!! I always give them the benefit of the doubt but this is the 5th time! My family and I will not be returning. I really hope the manager or owner reads all of the comments on here because they need to help this establishment.

I dont know why this DQ doesn't get better ratings. Every time we have visited, we have been completely satisfied. Take out or eat in orders are always the way we order. Drive thru is always backed up. Just what you need to accept for GOOD fast food.

Horrible service! I ordered a Royal Blizzard and asked if they could substitute the peanut butter topping with a chocolate topping, and they refused! Every other Dairy Queen I've been to has never had a problem doing this. That's ok, there are plenty of other Dairy Queens that I can give my business to.

Traditional DQ in design, so the store could use some updating. They do a good job keeping the store clean though. We visit often when we are in the area and have lays found good food and fast, friendly service.

A customer was in this location cussing in front of children and employees and manager did nothing. Had to call the police to have it taken care of. I spoke w the manager and she said there was nothing she could do. Not acceptable.
