We went here for breakfast. Very quaint place. I ordered shrimp n grits, and my daughter ordered a seafood omelet that came with crawfish and shrimp. There was absolutely NO seasoning. My grits, had no cheese, salt. And I asked for bacon on top, why was it so burnt. My daughter liked her omelet and she thought it was fine but I tasted and there was absolutely no seasoning at all. The cooks are not authentic to New Orleans so keep that in mind.

WOW 😳 That was an AMAZING dinner. My Lady and I were staying at the Hotel Le Pavilion and walked over to try Daisy Maes, and it was everything you could have wanted in Louisiana Cuisine. She had chicken and waffles, and i had the 3 piece chicken with fries, and everything they brought out was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We got a side of Potato Salad and finished it off with bread pudding, and everything was as tasty as it could be. The Bloody Marys were voted best by some magazines, and they were also very good. I would not skip this place, especially if you're staying at any of the hotels within walking distance. This place was so good, and it deserves nothing less than 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Me and my girlfriend ate here our first night in New Orleans. It was her first time trying southern food and she enjoyed it so much. We got the seafood platter the friend chicken plate. We got the red beans and rice and it was amazing. And the fried chicken was the best I’ve had in a while. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I

I walked over from Homewood Suites bc it was a rainy day and the restaurant is right across the street. Cute place. It wasn’t crowded. The server was friendly. My chicken was fried too hard so the coating was crumbly instead of crispy., The breast was dry. I’ll admit the seasoning was pretty good. The serving of red beans and rice was small with a spoon of rice. 2 hush puppies were on the side. My daughter had a cheese steak poboy which she said was ok. I was hoping to experience the great food the other reviews described but unfortunately it was nothing to write home about. Just fair.

Google
Stopped here after seeing doing reviews on TikTok. I was not impressed. The chicken was only seasoned on the outside. The pancakes were good. My friend ordered the New Orleans sampler that can with small bowls of gumbo, red beans, and etouffee and it can with a side of green tomato. The red beans and etouffee were ok but could use more seasoning. The drinks were really good and the service was excellent.

My wife and I walked from the Omni Royal to Daisys. About a 20 min walk to the one we went to. The chicken and waffles were delicious, the atmosphere was cozy but fine. The food is well worth it and reasonably priced. You just need to head over and grab a good waffle sandwich breakfast!

Google
The prices for this reference comparable for the type of cuisine we selected. We were greeted immediately upon entrance and seated within seconds. Our server was very professional and attentive. They do have an automatic 3% credit card service fee; however I wasn't asked if I'd be paying cash or card and that percentage was already included. I had to wait for him to reprint a new check. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Google
My wife and I went to Daisy Mae's today for breakfast. The food was amazing! I got the Mae's breakfast sandwich with a side of hashbrowns and my wife got the chicken and waffles. Both were super flavorful and came out very quickly. Although the chicken and waffles were good, the Mae's breakfast sandwich was the star of the show. The hashbrowns were also cooked perfectly, they were crispy but not burnt. We also had a great waitress who was very sweet and attentive. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town!

Yelp
This was a small location with a bar that served traditional Southern dishes. The service was nice, and the food came out in a timely manner. I went with the chicken tenders and waffle ($16.25?). There were three huge chicken tenders to an order. These were extremely crispy and fried nicely. There was plenty of flavor on the skin while the chicken was tender and juicy. It was some of the best fried chicken tenders I had in awhile. The waffle was light and fluffy. They had just the right amount of sweetness present. The maple syrup that was provided just enhanced everything on the plate. Will I go back? I would, yes.

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic New Orleans breakfast, Daisy Mae's delivers the goods. It's a classic diner where you can enjoy breakfast around the clock. If I had more time, I would have ordered the signature Southern Fried Chicken & Waffles sandwich. It looked awesome! Instead, I ordered the Alligator Omelet. It was fresh off the grill and oh so filling. But for the life of me, I can't tell you the taste of Alligator Sausage after eating it. Their gumbo was a spicy eye-opener for breakfast as well. Sit at the counter if you want the best service!

Yelp
Not bad, but not something I would put on a tour of NOLA or anything. Laid back and friendly, quick and generous portions. Nothing fancy at all. I had the New Orleans sampler. The red beans and gumbo were pretty good, the etouffee was not my thing at all, and I love crawfish. My wife and daughter had the chicken tenders and waffles, which were good. Overall it was a serviceable meal, just nothing I'd drive across town for. Try it if you are close.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and we got the chicken strips and waffles. We also got fries to share. It was so good. The employees were super nice.

Yelp
Friendly service. Good food. Not super cheap but portions were huge. Very cute atmosphere. Cozy diner type.

Yelp
The food really good here, but what really stood out here was the service. Tessa, Leslie and Mohamed were amazing during out stay there. Very impressionable and friendly. Every time my wife and I ate here, it was like visiting old friends. Also, the shrimp po boy with red beans is a great deal when you're in a pinch. And crawfish etouffe if you wanna feel cozy. Lol

Yelp
My overall rating should've been 3.5 mainly because of the not-so-great service. However there are no 1/2 stars so I guess it's closer to 3. What I liked... 1. We were seated fast (place was a bit empty maybe coz it's not in the French Quarter) 2. The fried chicken was wow -- the batter was seasoned well and crispy, the chicken pieces were moist and delicious. 3. The alligator omelette was okay and lacked alligator sausage; the side of grits was tasty. 4. The place was clean. What I didn't like: 1. Service was lackluster. The server wasn't forthcoming when I ordered my omelette and requested a biscuit (an option on the menu). When my order was delivered to my table, it came with white toast. When I asked for my biscuit, she said that they didn't have any or they didn't offer it. That was disappointing. She also wasn't attentive in refilling our glasses and we had to call for someone's attention multiple times for anything.

Yelp
Food was tasty Service was on point Portions were huge Price was right Chicken was seasoned really good and my pancakes were yummy The tomatoes were ok.

Sham B.

Yelp
Zero quality of green salad and potato salad. The three pieces chicken order was missing thigh. Paid more than $40 and could only eat two pieces of fried chicken.

Yelp
While staying nearby I stopped in here for breakfast one morning, as I was seeking a country-style breakfast. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and engaging which I found very nice. The menu is loaded with many nice options, I chose their Mae's Breakfast Sandwich, which was fried chicken on a waffle with a side of sausage gravy. The waffle was incredible! Very tasty and made very fresh! The chicken in the sandwich was also awesome!! The sausage gravy was a basic, very white style which isn't really what I'm partial too, but it tasted ok. I also tried a side of their red beans and rice and that was pretty darn tasty! Overall, I really enjoyed this visit and would recommend stopping in!

Yelp
It was late and we needed food. A whole day of travel and tourism and we were tapped. The hotel staff told us Daisy Mae's was open until 5 am so we were in. We walked in and Megan greeted us and sat us right down. The vibe was nice. Local history in the walls, TVs on the Olympics and a hometown sit down bar. The menu said they are know for their chicken and waffles so all four us got a variation. I orders the all white. The menu photos lied, the food looked way better in person. Two wings and a humongous breast. Now I've eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life so take this with respect. This is second to NONE outside of my wife's chicken. I've had Kentucky fried chicken in Louisville and this blew it away. Crisp, juicy and hot. The skin had a slight garlic flavor and was spiced to perfection. The waffles were the perfect mix of crisp and moist. We clean plated all four plates. It was so good I came back for breakfast. Shrimp and grits are on point. Shrimp had a nice grilled crisp and creole spice. The rue that they uses was slightly sweet and savory. The grits were good, just not as creamy as I would make. I still wanted a second order though. Do yourself a favor and visit Daisy Mae's

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. I honestly had never heard of this little place so while waiting for our table I read over the reviews. Felt a little nervous since some reviews were not that good. Happy to say I was pleasantly surprised by my chicken and waffles. Those waffles were literally some of the best I've ever had. They could have been a touch crispier for me but since it's a personal preference I will not count it against them. I chose the chicken tenders and I felt they were seasoned well, very fresh and hot! Also a big portion of chicken! Our waitress was nice and efficient! They could spruce up the dining area a little. Most definitely hope to return soon!

Yelp
Gross. Chicken looked like it had been dropped into fryer a few times, soda had too much CO2, bathrooms unkept, mayo in packets? Then there was the 3% up charge on the bill? Nope. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
So while I was walking back from Mothers I was still hungry, so I stopped into Daisy Mae's since it was on my way back to the hotel, plus fried chicken sounded good. The place is smaller, clean and modern. The tables are close together and I was greeted with a smile by the server. I looked at the menu and picked the two piece fried chicken (breast and thigh) with onion rings. The menu said it could take 20 min since it is freshly fried but I received mine in 10 min. It was hot and fresh. The fried chicken was a super golden brown, the coating was a wet batter that coated the whole piece and got into all of the crevices. The batter was super crispy. It also was very well seasoned, it had a bit of spice to it, but not too much. Under that delicious fried coating was amazing chicken. The chicken was very juicy, and I suspect it was brined for the chicken itself tasted seasoned, and a bit salty, but in a good way. The breast, which is usually hard to keep moist was juicy and flavorful, mixed with the spiced coating and you have yourself an amazing dinner now I was stuffed. The other great part was the price, this place is very reasonable, and it's a must go to!

Yelp
Fantastic cooked to order fried chicken! It was hot and delicious! Definitely one of the better Bloody Mary's I've had- first with a crawfish! Service was good and efficient as the place was packed. Casual interior.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered at kiosk in restaurant Simple basic 3 piece chicken and side of onion rings Been waiting 40 mins so far with sense of concern or explanation of why it is taking so long Zero customer service I suggest you keep walking and go across the street to somewhere where they value customer's business 50 minutes before food arrives

Yelp
Chicken was unacceptably dry cooked earlier and just refried.. waffle full of cinnamon and dry, fried green tomatoes was hard and small. 2 Fried eggs over hard served in a bowl..Service was very poor as restaurant only had 7 people in it.. restaurant needs cleaning, table cloths has stained food on it.. I wouldn't recommend..

Yelp
So let's get this out the way, the food is good! I was headed to get beignets and I saw chicken and waffles and I had to stop. WHO DOESN'T LOVE CHICKEN AND WAffles?? It's a small locally owned place, and of course they have some Nola faves on the menu, but I can't pass up trying chicken and waffles! The waffles themselves were perfect! Fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside! Nice sweetness! The chicken was juicy! Crispy and greasy- in a good way! The service isn't what you are going for here! They are nice, but I'm assuming that they get busy with business peeps and Tourists! So gotta keep em fed and moving! The dining space is small but decorated with local flare and artist work! I say flock!

Yelp
The BEST Fried Chicken we've ever had. The owner was really attentive. Will be back next trip to NOLA!

Yelp
Great service and great fried green tomatoes. Thank you for the service and clean restaurant.

Yelp
Service was good. Very Friendly staff. Food ok at best. Breakfast sando was as plain Jane as can be. But, it was nothing to write home about. I had over hard egg with bacon and cheddar on a biscuit. Filled my stomach so it did the job but that's about it. Did not try any of their fried chicken. Maybe I need to, but at this point, from my experience, I'd take a pass.

Yelp
No complaints from this cute little spot. I was on vacation and looking for a good spot to have breakfast. Stumbled upon this place and was definitely satisfied. I got the chicken and waffles and the portion was huge! My guy got an omelette and it was stuffed! Layla helped us during our visit and she was extremely polite, helpful and overall created a pleasant experience. I liked the artwork on the walls also.

Yelp
Ate here twice during Essence. First night was a late night. Ordered shrimp with fries and a side of gumbo. Good was fresh and tasty. Gumbo was the best of it all. Shrimp were Cajun style, spicy but also a little salty. Day two - went back because the hubbs wanted red beans & rice. Ordered the Sampler with crawfish étouffée, red beans & rice, gumbo, 2 small fried green tomatoes and two hush puppies. Needless to say, very underwhelmed and unamused by the flavor and portions. It works if you're just hungry and in the location & need a quick bite to eat. Most likely won't be interested in going back anytime soon.

Yelp
Little diner with large portions. The food was good, they gave me a funny look when I asked if they had sugar free syrup. They don't, it's regular sugar, deep fried and buttered. While in Rome, do what the Romans do! :)

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I came in after seeing your yelp photos. no welcome or staff just two kiosks to self order. Near the kiosk was a piece of paper. It was not dated, but said "No Biscuits". There was no one to ask. Two staff came out but they were talking with each other. They saw me. But didn't say anything to me. I wanted to ask whether the biscuit sign was for today. So I just decided to order something else even though I came for chicken and biscuit. I chose cheeseburger. I did not want sides and was glad it doesn't come with sides. When I clicked for the next screen, I was promoted that you have to choose a side. Your choices $3 french fries. $3 onion rings or $3 potato salad if my memory serves me correctly. I was put off by that and not being treated like my business mattered. So I left. I do not like being forced to choose a side and then at an additional cost. I want to order what I want to order. Off putting. Poor business practice. The decor was dark and dim. Most of the photos on Yelp are corporate photos and not aftual customer photos so that for many is a red flag. Post real photos. Have staff greet people that walk in or that are at the kiosk. Don't force sides or added fees. Business will improve of you do right by people. Then you won't have to feel forced to make people buy what they don't want. They will buy it because they are being treated in good faith and fair dealing. All the best.

Yelp
Vibe- This is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. There's a lot of tables but it seems that they stay pretty busy so be prepared for a possible wait. Customer service- Amazing! Wendy was very attentive and helpful. Food/drinks- I got a waffle, grits, and hash brown. It was all good (nothing super amazing, but good) and satisfying. I would love to see vegan friendly options on their menu :) Parking- There's street parking. If you can, walking is probably easier.

Yelp
So our Uber driver suggested thos restaurant for fried chicken and claimed it was the best in town. So upon arrival we noticed that they close after 3pm. Luckily we got there an hour in advance of that. We were greeted in a friendly way and seated immediately. We ordered Bloody Mary's and I am happy to report that they were expertly crafted and topped with olives, pickled ocra and green beans. For lunch I ordered a bowl of gumbo and chicken and waffles. The gumbo came very quickly and it was full of sausage and chicken. The flavor was so far the best I have tasted on this visit. I spiced it up a bit with crystal but unless you like it really spicy it doesn't really need it. This chicken was two legs and two wings. The chicken was very crispy but to be honest a bit on the burned side. The flavor of the fried chicken was more like Popeyes, which I like but I have had better flavor chicken in town. The waffle was softer than I like it but it did have very good flavor. Real butter and maple syrup brought this tasty waffle together. Give it a try but maybe ask them to watch for burning the chicken. Definitely try the bloody and gumbo.

Yelp
Food was ok... Steak was a lil tough but over all a good experience. Had a great waitress!

Yelp
Customer service was subpar. Especially if you have a larger party. The manager seemed to want our business, but want us gone at the same time. The food was amazing, but nothings perfect I guess.

Yelp
While waiting to check into our hotel across the street, we decided to grab something to eat at Daisy Mae's. We apparently arrived in town on the wrong day, because not only was it a Sunday and brunch time, but the city was jam packed with fans for the LSU vs. FSU game, so the line was out the door and down the street. We probably waited a good hour before finally being seated. *Le' Sigh* The inside is small and a no thrills restaurant. I decided to order the chicken tenders and waffles. Our food took a while to arrive, but when it did, it was pipping hot! The chicken was crispy, crunch, and seasoned pretty well. The waffle was flavorful! My niece ordered the same as me, with the exception of getting chicken parts instead of tenders. She received a breast, leg and wing. The breast was literally as big as her head! So our food portions were definitely plentiful. Service was far, few, and between. Was the hour long wait worth the food - umm, probably not, but we were starving and ALL of the restaurants nearby were crowded for the reasons I explained earlier. Is this an authentic soul food restaurant, I highly doubt it. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but I've had better. Good option in a pinch!

Yelp
We usually go to Daisy Duke's when we are in town. We were pleasantly surprised to find this sister restaurant around the corner from our hotel. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating. We started out with Bloody Marys and Mimosas. The Bloody Marys were very spicy, so brace yourselves if you cannot handle some heat. I loved the presentation and extra veggies on the toothpick. It helps justify starting off the day with an alcoholic beverage. I usually get the Eggs Benedict, which is amazing, but I opted for a lighter meal. I got the 2 eggs your way with hash browns, wheat toast, and..... 3 pieces of bacon! It was a nice surprise, because most restaurants only dish out 2 measly slices. We'll be back at least 2 more times before we leave, so I'm tempted to try some other menu items.

Hunter C.

Yelp
Service is absolutely terrible. They will not take the order over the phone, online ordering is terribly flawed. When I went into the store to order I was told I can only order from a kiosk in which it tried to force me to tip (myself) and the kiosk payment system was broken. I was told to try other kiosks in the store instead of just having an employee take my order. 10/10 do not recommend. Much better options next door.

Yelp
I was looking to get some good breakfast food here in New Orleans so we decided to go to Daisy Mae's, which was right down the street from the hotel. I wish I hadn't. First sign of not good food in a restaurant is that if it's empty, turn around and go somewhere else. I got the Shrimp and grits and expected to be blown away. Yeah I was highly disappointed. Shrimp is small and that upsets me because for a city to be on the gulf, I'm expecting huge shrimp. Wife had chicken and waffles and the waffles were cakey. Like they used pancake batter to make these waffles. Chicken was decent though. Waitress was nice but I won't go back due to the food and the high price of $70+ for subpar shrimp.
google avatar

Clifton L.

Yelp
Nice ambience. Our waitress LaLah was nice. The gumbo was little watery that my club brother had and my alligator omelette was tasty BUT I wish they offered sour cream and salsa...

Yelp
This was a lovely lovely place! My son suggested we eat here for my birthday... the people were nice and the food was incredible!

Yelp
Great breakfast with huge portions! We ate here Mardi Gras morning, it wasn't too crowded. Our server was wonderful and the food was awesome! We especially loved the bottomless Bloody Mary.

Yelp
Y'all.... Frozen pancakes heated up and rubbery. Sausage pre-cooked and microwaved. The saddest chicken fried steak I've EVER SEEN. All breading, not even crispy, packaged gravy. The fried chicken? Delicious. But skip this - we should have gone to District All Day. Just awful.

Yelp
Great Restaurant! Food and Service was great (Marco). I gave 4 stars because it was extremely hot however, Marco put a fan in our direction. A must try!

Yelp
Chicken and waffles was great!!. Portions huge. Hamburgers were ok. Food was served fast. Great customer service.

Yelp
Food came out fairly quickly and was hot and fresh for a Sunday morning considering it was a "big" weekend in New Orleans. The bartender provided excellent service and was very attentive and quick. The ambiance matched that of a five or diner.

Yelp
Good food moderate pricing, Mohamed our server was hospitable, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious

Yelp
I had the shrimp po-boy and gumbo. It was delicious! The service was excellent! I love the decor inside. I couldn't more highly recommend this restaurant! I will most definitely be back!!

Yelp
My two kids and I were so impressed with the southern charm pf this restaurant. Our server sorry missed her name cut up..extra lemons and brought us extra cherries . She made us feel welcome with her smile and kindness. The food was tasty and brought in in timely manner. Resto. was clean with great vibe. YALL are doing it right. Ill be back! Doug C Canada

Yelp
It was trash and not even worth my time.... Very disappointing and picture don't look like food... chicken was burnt had to send back
google avatar

Yelp
Not too good, the chicken was not freshly cooked, seemed refried, so hard, and difficult to eat. Honestly was looking forward to it. The potato salad was good, the gravy and sausage.on the biscuits was not that good, something missing on the sauce. This is definitely a pass
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Not a bad intro to NOLA! We came here for lunch on a time crunch almost immediately after getting off our flight. Service was quick and friendly. I liked the local art that's for sale hanging on their walls. I got myself a sampler with a chicken breast. The sampler was just ok - not much flavor. The chicken was the highlight of the meal.

Landon D.

Yelp
Fantastic food and cool atmosphere inside the restaurant. I can't believe I haven't been to this place before now. The crab cake Benedict is soooo good.

Aisha M.

Yelp
Everything about this place was shit. Shit customer service, shit wait time, and even shittier services. Why does it take 20 minutes to get some fried chicken. Waited 45 min for some mid ass food. Don't ever go to this establishment. If I could I would buy it, just to fire the staff and close it down. Could've got better at Waffle House. And no vegetables, cmon. Cleanliness of the staff and business were horrible. Overall just a horrible experience, don't waste your money.

Allyn A.

Yelp
Great bloody mary's and the breakfast was delicious! Really fast service and everyone was so nice.
