Oh my, happiness to the extreme with this place ! We got there at just after 0800 (it opens at 0600) after following advise from a highly regarded foodie. 10 min wait and we were allowed into this very tiny sushi Heaven with the U shaped counter. I wish we could create tangible ways to memorialize tastes and scents the same way we treasure photos and audio recordings. Beautifully presented. Fresh, melt in your mouth pieces. Get the omakase, you will not regret it . Can get with or without wasabi. Staff are friendly, professional, and our chef was horrified to find out there were such creations in the U.S. that mixed sushi with cream cheese (ie the Philadelphia roll). We ordered a few more pieces (Aji) after the omakase so our bill was a bit higher. You will need to leave your suitcases and umbrellas outside. But, as this is Japan, no one was worried about theft. Hours are : 0600-1400 Closed on Tuesday. Some photos :

“The Best Sushi in Tokyo!” With the omakase course including several cups of sake, it cost around 10,000 yen per person. It was so delicious that I definitely want to visit again. If you’re coming to see the Tsukiji Market, this is a must-visit spot. Be sure to enjoy it with some chilled sake—sake really enhances the flavor of the sushi!

This is definitely the place to be for fresh and authentic sushi in the city, the omakase sushi set was excellent and with great variety, the tuna literally melts in your mouth and the sea urchin was really creamy and tasty. Despite the language barrier we a manage to exchange small conversation, the chef was really skillful and accommodating to my youngest who did not fancy shellfish and he plated her a fish replacement with a charring (from the torch) to enhance the flavor. Can see its a real hit with the locals too. Thanks everyone for the great time!

Who eats sushi at 6am? You should! Daiwa Sushi is hands down some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Each piece was packed with subtle flavors that left me wanting more. The chef took us on a taste bud adventure—fatty tuna, eel, sardine… and the list goes on. It was 40 minutes of pure culinary bliss. I’m already dreaming about my next visit.

There was already a queue when I arrived around 9:30am. I went for the omakase, and every piece of sushi was fresh with generous cuts of sashimi. The staff were attentive, even topping up the ginger regularly. I highly recommend ordering a few extra pieces à la carte, the sushi is so good, one round just isn’t enough.

Google
Just had sushi for breakfast for the first time, and it was amazing! Daiwa Sushi near Toyosu Market starts serving at 6am, but expect a line. The service is top-notch, and the sushi is super fresh. Definitely worth it for the quality. Highly recommended! 🍣

One of the highlights of our trip was having sushi for breakfast. We stayed overnight at the nearby Toyosu Manyo Onsen and checked out around 7 AM. It’s just a 5-minute walk from the onsen to the restaurant. When we arrived there was no line, but the place was almost full. We ordered the omakase set and added a few extra pieces—left completely satisfied. The meal came to about 10,000 yen per person.

Google
Excellent omakase! The first thing the chef said was that the fish was fresh and never frozen. Truly a whole different experience from other omakase I’ve had in America. No frills, just fresh fish. The set came with some miso soup and hot tea. It comprised of 7 nigiri and 6 small rolls. Our chef was very friendly and we were lucky to get in without much of a wait after the tuna auction at 7:15AM. When we left, the line was about 10 people long at around 8AM. It took us a while to find the place, but Toyosu workers were helpful in pointing us in the right direction.

Yelp
Worth the wait but come early! The chefs are super chatty and have a fun time making the sushi for you as well as tell you what each item is. The overall interior is really nice and you don't get a menu since it's a set course and then you can choose at the end to add on (extra cost)... you can try other things that were not given to you during the set course. It's fairly loud in there with people chatting and enjoying food.

Yelp
Thanks to our dear friend who woke us up so that we can lined up early in the morning (5:30am)! From most of the reviews, the anticipation overshadowed our sleepiness and we were excited to be part of this "ritual". Soon after they are ready, they started to let customers in ( they check the number in each party so to arrange the seats ) I love how organized they are and there seems to be no confusion at all! Staffs are no-nonsense and polite. After we were seated, we were offered hot green tea, and since our friend is Japanese, she had ordered for us. ( we had the Omakase ) Food came fast, almost like in a "Kaiten" sushi shop, one after another we were offered the pieces freshly made in front of us by the Chef. I feel that both the rice and the fish tasted very very ordinary and lack any kind of "heart", it can be from a department store and one would not even noticed. The only thing I recall was their ginger ... not even their miso soup was anything to write home about. I was truly looking forward to this experience but sad to say, it was a big disappointment! Anyways, onward and forward we go!!

Yelp
This sushi restaurant isn't near the main food area. It's literally a hidden gem on the bottom floor facing the Fruit & Vegetable Building of Toyosu Market. The service is very prompt and friendly. They even speak a decent amount of English. The seafood is amazing! There is nowhere else in the world to experience sushi as fresh and delicious as from Toyosu Market. Sushi Daiwa let's all that shine! Each piece is expertly cut and assembled to create simple individual masterpieces. This is the type of sushi quality that will change your life. We were fortunate enough arriving a little before 7am to avoid any line. The restaurant was quite full but there are a good amount of seats and everyone works so efficiently. This is definitely the top sushi I've had so far (and we eat a lot of sushi).

Yelp
Located in Toyosu fish market, Daiwa punches far above its price point in terms of flavor and the quality of the fish. The chef described every piece including where it came from and how fresh it was. The miso soup and fatty tuna especially stood out and it was excellent getting this for breakfast. The sushi chef was very friendly and made conversation with us and we felt welcome even with our English. The restaurant was very calm and felt like the quintessential sushi restaurant with an ambiance that you can't find anywhere else in the US.

Yelp
We checked out Daiwa sushi while killing some time at the Toyosu market before our reservation at Sushi Dai. The line was three people deep and we were seated at the bar in less than 15 minutes. Awesome! We sat down for sushi breakfast number one of two at 8am. My bf got the omikase (7 pieces, maki roll, soup) and I ordered a la carte (3 pieces). Unsure what the per piece price was because they just give you the total but it seems my a la carte was about equivalent to the set omikase. So yah, the way to go is definitely the omikase unless you're picky or have something specific in mind. Sushi Daiwa had some fresh, no frills, bells or whistles offerings. I'm thinking they let the seafood speak for itself. Sushi loving bf rates this 4 stars, I rate it 3. Total: $73USD

Yelp
Waiting outside under the sun is not convenient. They don't even offer a fan to cool down people. Giving the high end price, I expect better service. No menu is offered so you basically have to order blindly regardless how much it is. When paying the bill, you only know the total. They don't give a breakdown for each item. The Omakase contains about 7 pieces of nigiri and 6 pieces of rolls. Miso soup and one dessert is included. Almost all customers are tourists. They are here purely based on online reviews. Since they come here only once, they may not say anything about these inconveniences.

Yelp
A long wait but worth it. Get the omakase! Come near closing time...no long line. Long line and wait of 1-2 hours in the morning. Our sushi chef was extremely nice and attentive. Pretty quiet venue considering they are small yet larger than most old Tsukiji sushi places. I would come back again!

Yelp
We got there super early on a Wednesday (0630h). There was no line up going in. But by the time we left, a line started to form. We recently tried our first Omakase experience in Toronto, so we had to give it a try in Japan. We chose Sushi Daiwa for many reasons. Firstly, its right at the new fish market, so we figured why not go to the source! Secondly, it is known to have a quicker line than its counterpart in Sushi Dai (which was also close don this day). However, back to the food. I wish I can name all the fish, but what I can tell you each piece was very very good. You get miso soup to start with, along with a very very good green tea. Toro, Scallop, Uni, Eel are some of our favorites. Each piece was executed with efficiency. Very great experience here! Highly recommend.

Yelp
We woke up "late" and sushi dai was filled up for the day, so this was our second choice. We waited for maybe a little over an hour? I can't remember anymore, but we definitely waited. The line moves fairly quick I suppose. Mostly because it's usually like 4-6 people leaving at a time. Apparently, you can also make rsvp ahead of time, we did not get the rsvp. From when we sit down to paying, it was quicker than us waiting haha I was still getting used to eating raw sushi for breakfast so that was an adjustment. Everything moves fairly quickly once you sit down. It's a set omakase style so there really isn't any choosing? Or at least we were told that way. Each piece was very fresh and melts your mouth. The sushi rice wasn't too vinegar-y or sweet. I liked every piece minus the tomago. Something about sweet eggs that in just not a fan of. I tried it 2-3x when I was in Japan, still not a fan.

Yelp
Lucked out with the wait with only 10 mins on a Thursday morning (9am) before a scheduled teamLab planets visit. What you get is super fresh omakase nigiris with the option to add on. Everything served up was very tasty and comes in a very reasonable price ~$20 USD per person at the time of writing. You can't really go wrong with this place if you're a sushi enjoyer.

Yelp
Before all you sushi lovers reprimand me for giving Daiwa Sushi a 3-star review, please know that I generally do not like sushi...not the Japanese raw fish kind anyway, and definitely not for breakfast. I don't understand how anyone would want to line up for raw fish at 5AM. Having said that though, Toyosu Market is an iconic fish market, and everyone should stop here once. Once you are here, you should at least try one or two pieces of fresh sushi even if you are not a raw fish fan. I lined up at Daiwa Sushi around 9AM and got seated in about an hour. There were people in line with their luggage, coming straight from the airport. Again, this is not something I would do, but to each their own. There was no menu or prices posted anywhere, but I knew the 8-piece omakase menu would be around JPY4,400 based on other Yelp reviews. With an open mind, I got the omakase menu. I enjoyed the shrimp and tuna sushi. I did not like the hirame (flounder), which was too rubbery (1 star off). I did not like the red snapper for the same reason (1 star off). In general, I do taste the freshness and can see how sushi lovers would appreciate this. The entire experience lasted about 40 minutes. Raw fish is still not my meal of choice, but I gave it a shot!

Yelp
Amazing nigiri. Huge fish portions. We had one morning in Toyosu and opted for Daiwa over Dai because we have kids and it was a shorter wait. I was not disappointed. We showed up at 5:30am on a Thursday and were second in line. No menu for kids but they were fine with our kids sitting at the counter and watching us eat. Good service. They gave our toddler kids chopsticks to play with. It was a pretty quick experience, we were done by 6:30. It was about 6700 yen a person with 7+1 courses. At the time this was the best sushi I've ever had. It's still the best sushi I've ever had for the price. I'll be visiting again when I make it back to Japan.
google avatar

Yelp
Sushi Dai may have some spiffy reviews and be a bit cheaper, but this was well worth not having to get up at 3:30 to maybe get a reservation at 5. We were on a train by 8, explored a bit then got in line around 9:45 (it was a Thursday for context). We waited about an hour. There's a bathroom and a drink vending close by.

Yelp
Five star sushi in and out in 20 min! Michelin Star restaurant in the new fish market! Waiting is mandatory. But if you are waiting with fellow Japanese and not just tourists, then it is worth it! The way it worked is that it opens at 5:30 when the fish market opens. Then at 10 am the line really starts. We waited for 30 mins and got in. Once inside you are served with seafood miso soup, then the feeding begins. Freshest fish coming right at you, be sure to savor every piece. Super fresh. Cash only. Once the omakase sushi is done, you can have add-on's. We had tamago. Very good dessert. The cost of this meal is around $40. The time from sitting down to finish your meal? 20 minutes. Cash only. For a Michelin speed dining experience, this is a no brainer. Same Michelin experience in San Francisco sets you back $250. You almost earned your outbound flight cost by eating here!

Yelp
THIS OMAKASE FOREVER CHANGED MY LIFE. I used to think people were exaggerating when they told me that, but now I'm just going to add myself to that list. I can't get over how rich, buttery, and sweet the uni was as it melted in my mouth. Simply ...WOW. The uni was what stood out to me the most just because I have never been a huge fan of it. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. When I was served the uni here, I was mindblown from the taste to texture; it was unlike any uni I have ever tasted before. Aside from that, all of the fish was incredibly fresh. Considering this is located at the fish market, you can expect nothing but the best. Even something as simple as the tamago was utterly amazing with the fluffiness to the sweet notes of the drizzled sauce. Oh my goodness, I am never going to forget this meal; and I know every single time I return to Japan in the future, this will be a must. Do yourself a favor and eat the omakase at Daiwa Sushi. This is as good as it gets, seriously. I would book a flight to Japan for this alone. Also a couple notes to help you out, when you get off the Shin-Toyosu Station, head towards the Fruits and Vegetable Building. While you're walking along, you'll notice an elevator and stairs to go down while still outside the building; take those stairs down to the ground floor. Once on the first floor, you'll see a tempura restaurant and Daiwa. Welcome to the best sushi ever!

Yelp
It's not a complete Japan trip without experiencing the coveted Omakase sushi experience. And what's better than trying the freshest and highest quality sushi than at a restaurant that is located right beside the largest fish market in Tokyo! I was totally down for the challenge as I got up at 4am in the morning to catch the 5:30am first seating of Daiwa Sushi located at the Toyosu fish market. After a series of twist and turns navigating early morning public transit, I managed to arrive at Daiwa Sushi for their first seating without waiting in line! Definitely my lucky day! For 4320 Yen per person Daiwa Sushu offers 7 pieces of nigiri sushi + 1 roll + 1 miso soup as part of their Omakase experience, and you're welcome to order more pieces a la cart afterwards too. The items I got included the following, in the order of apparence: - Otoro (fatty tuna) - Ika (squid) - Ebi (shrimp) - Uni (sea urchin) - Hamachi (amberjack/yellowtail) - Salmon roll - Tamago (sweet egg) - Unagi (BBQ eel) - I also ordered a Scallop sushi and an extra Otoro at the end My personal favourites are the Otoro, Ebi, and Scallop sushi. The bill came down to total of 5050 Yen or about $60 CAD, which is completely reasonable given the great experience and the quality of the fish! We then walked around the Toyosu market a bit more and got to see the hustling market from the comfort of the viewing deck. Out of curiousity, we walked by Sushi Dai (another popular Omakase restaurant) at around 7am and there were 22 people in line, which is about 2-3 hours wait at that point, so it definitely pays off to come early and enjoy the freshest sushi!

Yelp
Another early morning wake up call for the live tuna auction and sushi breakfast at Daiwa Sushi. At least I got an extra 30 minutes of sleep this time around and woke up at 4:00am to make it to the live tuna auction by 5:15am to meet up with the rest of the tuna auction lottery winners and headed straight to Sushi Daiwa afterwards before there was a line. Only in Tokyo would people be crazy enough to wait in line before 3:00am for a sushi breakfast! Very good sushi and seafood variety but I would still choose Sushi Dai over Daiwa Sushi. Makes sense why the line for Sushi Dai starts way earlier. But Daiwa Sushi is not a bad alternative for just just about the same amount of wait time and just ever so slightly cheaper than Sushi Dai. We were lucky enough to be able to try both on consecutive days to make the comparison and not have to wait too long in line.

Yelp
This being my first meal in Japan, I thought it was okay! It's located near the wholesale markets downstairs in the corner. There was a line outside when we arrived but it went by smoothly and fast. The inside is rather small, but you don't feel too cramped when you sit down. The price is 4000 yen for a 7 course set, which the chef prepares in front of you. The chef also asked if we liked wasabi, so I thought it was a nice touch in case you don't prefer wasabi with your nigiri. Overall, the fish served was good! My favorite was the unagi, and you could honestly taste the freshness in all the dishes. The only thing that I wasn't satisfied with was the service. There's no menu and the price was listed anywhere, and my family and I don't know any Japanese at all. When I ended up asking for the price and explained to my father about how much it was, I saw some of the employees laughing and making fun of us for being confused.
google avatar

Breanna N.

Yelp
First official meal in Japan goes to sushi! This placed is located next to the wholesale markets. You can take a walk in to see how they distribute all the products. There was a line forming already at 10am! We thought we were crazy for eating sushi this early but I guess that's normal here. The inside is fairly small as everyone is facing towards the chef since they pick which rolls to serve you. It was a 7 course set, around 4,000 yen. The sushi served were good, especially the tuna. My only con would be the service. There were no menus so we weren't able to see the prices.. To top it off, some of the waiters smirked when we asked them about it. I thought it was rather rude especially it was clear we weren't from there.. oh well.
google avatar

Yelp
Daiwa Sushi was our first stop at 8:00 am for sushi right after visiting the fish market. We were relieved it wasn't crowded and lucked out with no wait or lines. We ordered the set menu which is approximately 3500 yen snd was way worth it. Sushi was do good we ordered more pieces after finishing the entire set. The chef made a red clam nigiri, tako octopus nigiri , anago nigiri was extraordinary. The anago was extremely delicious so we consumed extra few pieces and hobbled them all down. Totally satisfying! Ambiance: extra clean Sushi Chefs: very nice and ready to please Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Yelp
For some reason, there are two similarly-spelled Daiwa Sushi restaurants in the new Toyosu Fish Market, but my girlfriend and I checked out the one that was in the outside of the main warehouse. I've heard a lot of amazing things about Daiwa Sushi - including the potentially 2-3 hour wait. So we decided to come early in the morning for breakfast. And nope I've never had sushi for breakfast before, so why not have it be our first experience? Protip: If you actually come before 8am, there won't be a wait. We kinda struggled to find the location, but thank goodness for signs and Google Map. We arrived right around 7:30 and were able to find a seat by the counter. You pretty much are limited to their Omakase option, and it was about $40 per person. Seems like a lot, but remember this is LEGIT SUSHI. Food was prepared very fast, and my god it was AMAZING! Not sure if it was the best sushi we've ever had (there's a place in Osaka that will give Daiwa a run for its money), but ever piece was fresh and delicious. Even better, the service was top dollar. My girlfriend particularly loved how nice and sweet all the sushi chefs were. They made every extra effort to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Even though we were foreigners, we were treated like family. If you have the chance to try Daiwa Sushi, I really recommend it. It's totally worth the wait. I give it an "Omg, I'd travel 2 hours for this" rating. Eat well and prosper,

Yelp
This is the review for the new location of Daiwa sushi that recently relocated to the new Fish Market (in Odaiba Tokyo). It's about a 5 minute walk from the actual new fish market, I don't know why Daiwa is located with the other new sushi places, esp Sushi Dai, but the good part is that it's not in a busy area if you like to get away from the hustle and bustle environment. The menu is a preset menu, and the chef makes each nigiri individually for you. He was pretty entertaining and pretty friendly. The sushi itself was really delicious and everything tasted fresh! If you're not willing to wait the 2-3 hr wait at Sushi Dai, then I recommend coming here because it tastes amazing. Overall, I highly recommend it. In order to find this place, just google the new Fish market (Toyosu Fish Market), and right before you visit the "Fish Market section," head down the set of elevators which will lead you directly to the new location.

Yelp
Hands down the best sushi I've ever had Found it on Fosters Tokyo I ended up paying around 6000 yen because I got 2-3 extra pieces of sushi Recommend the Tuna!

Yelp
It took me 2 hours to find the new location! It's no longer located at Tsujiki Market but at Toyosu Fish Market - but when you get to the Toyosu Fish Market, it's located in Building 6 on the ground floor of the Toyosu Fruit and Vegetable Market. I've posted photos of my great scavenger hunt. Good Luck! If you've had Sushi Breakfast at Tsujiki Mkt, then you know how exciting it is to be in the heart of the fish market with shops and sellers in every nook while standing in a long line with other hungry sushi lovers. This new location has lost all the magical ambiance but the sushi itself is still awesome and on point. The last time I ate at Daiwa, my husband & I had to wait over an hour. This time, I walked right in and ate at a half empty counter. The sushi was excellent. We had the 10 piece (plus 1 free choice) Chef's Choice. After a 2 hr ordeal, it was almost anticlimactic to eat our breakfast alone in 15 minutes. I put in a request to Yelp to update the address for the new location. I imagine there have been less determined Yelpers who ended up eating breakfast at the many welcoming sushi counters I passed to get to my goal of re-experiencing Daiwa. Here's an article about the change in location that I never saw until too late! https://www.8days.sg/eatanddrink/newsandopening/you-can-still-eat-at-tsukiji-market-s-famous-sushi-dai-and-daiwa-10816826

Yelp
Bags under the seat! If you haven't been here before, that's the first thing to know! Pick the rolls up and eat them with your hands. That's the second. Situated by the fish market, Daiwa Sushi is known as one of the best sushi restaurants in Japan, which goes without saying also means the best in the world when it comes to sushi. We arrived in the afternoon and had around a twenty minute wait for 2 people. Once you enter, you're taken to your seat where you're told to put all your belongings under the chair. The chef then asks if you want to order anything specific or if you'd rather go with the chef's choice. Unless you've been here before or really want to micromanage your food, go for the chef's choice. He knows what he's doing. Each seat at the bar has a plate on a higher shelf. The chef will individually put each serving on the dish. It's expected that you'll eat it when he puts it out. I'm specifying this as one of the other patrons seemed to be waiting until all the food was out out. Don't do that. The food was presented along with hot tea and miso soup. This was the surprising part, as the miso soup had small clams in it which really enhances the flavor and gave the bowl a cool factor. For the sushi, the servings consisted of the following rolls: Otoro Sea Urchin Squid Ama Ebi (sweet/raw shrimp) Maguro And ikura Medium Tuna Skip Jack Eel Egg (extra gift) Along with me ordering Toro Yellow tail My favorites were definitely the otoro, skip jack, and yellow tail. While I'm not usually a fan of urchin in the US, it actually tasted good here! I feel like a lot of times it's just gooey salt water flavor, but here it had a creamy rich taste that I haven't found before, or since. That experience alone was worth it. The chef is also a nice guy. He will ask you where you're from, how your trip is, where you've been, but also had a lot of knowledge of places around the world and a lot of experience to talk about. The total cost for two people was around a hundred dollars, which also included extra orders. The base price for the chef's special was 4300 yen, which is a steal. The memorable parts are definitely changing my idea on urchin and the delicious skip jack! I highly recommend this place, and say it's worth the trip.

Yelp
Amazing fresh sushi. The sushi here is incomparable to any other. The sushi you'll used will not taste as close to as good. Large cut pieces of fresh, mouthwatering fish. They only serve omakase. But I ordered extra chutoro and otoro because it was just too good.

Alice M.

Yelp
Amazing omakase tasting at one of the best sushi restaurants in the Tsukiji fish market! This lovely gem was worth the jet lagged 3am awakening to queue for a 530am sashimi and sushi meal. The tuna, yellowtail, hamachi was the freshest I had ever tasted. My husband and I also sampled the raw shrimp and sea urchin. A wonderful culinary experience.

Yelp
This is by far the best sushi we had in Japan. The new location is super nice and very spacious. Our chef was great and very entertaining. We went on a Monday morning and there wasn't a wait.

Yelp
I would rather wait 4 hrs at sushi dai than be served instantly at Daiwa. Honestly the sushi at a standing room only sushi joint had better quality. Uni had frozen chunks. We were actually the first and only people in line when they opened. And during our meal only two other parties showed up, but our chef still served the sushi two at a time in rapid succession, while scowling at us the whole time for not being Japanese. We honestly weren't able to enjoy our meal,we never even had time to sip our clam soup. With four pieces of sushi still on our plates, we were told that the eel that he just placed down was the last piece and did we want to order additional items. We ordered bonito since we weren't able to order it at Sushi Dai the day before because it wasn't available. Now we know why sushi dai said it wasn't available, the bonito wasn't fresh at all. This was one of the worst meals we had in Japan, and we've eaten at all types of restaurants from three star Michelin RyuGin to Family restaurant-Jonathan's. If it wasn't for our schedule today, we would have gone back to Sushi Dai. What a big disappointment being he's dad's place.

Yelp
Sushi served to foreigners was mediocre at best and the establishment takes advantage of foreigners, especially who are not familiar with the language. Waste of time, money and belly space. Sushi served to locals was much better quality and selection.

Yelp
Quite frankly, I had no plans to go to Daiwa but did after arriving at 2:45 a.m. and not being able to get into Dai. Daiwa opens at 5:30 a.m. and if you are in line around 4:45/5 a.m., you will get into the first seating. It is roughly $40 for the meal (3800 yen) and you get a nice omakase that is wrapped up in 20 - 30 minutes. I came back three mornings in a row.

Yelp
I was very excited to eat this sushi. My son and I ate at this establishment and were very disappointed. We came early and did not have to wait in line. When we were seated, almost immediately after sushi began to flow to our plates. They were trying to get us in and out as quick as possible. This is similar to how my bowel movements are now feeling after this sushi. I have had sushi around the world but have never had such a problem. You may think well this is a fairly cheap option. However, after the numerous tums you will have to buy for the upcoming days, maybe not.

Yelp
We visited Daiwa on one of the first days of our trip. The rice was delicious and provided an excellent contrast to the cold and flavorful fish. All the textures melded perfectly, and it was one of our favorite meals during our honeymoon. So good in fact, that we woke up at 4:30am on our last day in Japan to have ur as our last meal before leaving. The staff was attentive and very nice, and it was not an issue with us knowing almost 0 japanese. 10/10 would recommend to anyone planning on visiting the new fish market. #TeamDaiwa

Yelp
Best sushi we've had. Amazingly fresh and friendly chefs behind the counter. They do speak some English. Came just before closing around 1pm and there were a few seats open with no line. Did omakase and enjoyed every bite. Favorite was uni so silky smooth and delicate flavor. Dunno if it's better earlier in the day but we had a great experience without a long wait after noon. I did see them turn people away after 1:30ish. So make sure you get there by 1 at the latest.

Yelp
Awesome , worth the wait and completely delicious, this is at least 90% as good as the $200-300 per head omekase places for a fraction of the cost. No wonder there is a queue of 100ish Japanese locals up front. But the line moves quickly. Sushi chefs are very friendly and the value for money is just unbeatable. I would come back on any trip to Tokyo. It's a bit of a pain going to toyusu market but it's worth it. FYI yelp location is currently wrong- this is no longer at Tsukiji. In general yelp is very out of date in japan.
