If you're not local, stay far away from this place unless you enjoy feeling like an unwelcome outsider and being treated with blatant disregard.
We went on a Roman friend’s recommendation, thinking we were in for a great dining experience. What a mistake. We initially tried to go without a reservation on a Wednesday at 8:30 PM (they open at 8:00 PM), but they turned us away, claiming they were fully booked. Fine. We booked for the next day at the same time.
Fast forward to Thursday. We arrive, nobody at the door to greet us, so we step inside. The moment the waitstaff laid eyes on us, it was as if we had personally offended them by existing. No smiles, no welcome—just cold, unfriendly stares. We were seated in a corner at the back of the room, which felt a bit isolated from the rest of the space
Sitting down, I immediately noticed cobwebs hanging from the lamps above our table—a nice touch, really. Then comes the bearded waiter, who, with a dry and indifferent tone, pointed at the menu and told us to "scan the QR for the English menu." No effort, no warmth. He deliberately took his time before even acknowledging our drink order, despite the fact that in the room we were seated in, there were only two tables occupied. Meanwhile, the only other diners—a clearly local Italian family—received smiles, conversation, and constant attention, while we were met with disinterest at best, annoyance at worst.
When he finally took our order, we weren’t super hungry, so we just got a starter to share, mains, and a couple of sides. His response? A condescending "Only this to share?", making it clear he found it odd. The food arrived, and while it was good, the experience was so sour that we just wanted to leave. We skipped dessert and asked for the bill.
Then, just as we were ready to put this disappointing experience behind us, the waiter made a point to remind us that "tips aren’t included" (even though a 12% service charge was already included, if I'm not mistaken) and that they only accept cash tips. At that point, it just felt like the perfect ending to an already unpleasant evening.
This place is an absolute joke, and if you’re not Italian, don’t expect to be treated with basic decency. Avoid at all costs.
