We've learned that, if you're going to do a big Roman meal, do it for lunch instead of dinner. We hit this place, which was recommended by an Italian friend, and were not disappointed by the food or portions. We started with the beans in olive oil and a selection of salume. We could have stopped there - they were both filling - but didn't of course. For mains, we had the pappardelle alla toscana (very flavorful boar sauce) and the filet steak with balsamic vinegar. Both highly recommended. The place has been in operation since the 30s, so they know what they're doing. Based on its location, it's a great stop after seeing the Vatican Museum.
