The Best Korean Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"An offshoot of a Toronto-based chain, Daldongnae’s Korean barbecue has quickly curried favour from locals. Alongside pork, vegetables and beef to cook up, the menu offers options like haemul pajeon, a fried pancake filled with greens and seafood, as well as bulgogi. It’s not all-you-can-eat like other options in town, however, so choose wisely while dining." - Holly Tousignant

The best korean bbq in town. The food is tasty, and the service is amazing. We tried a la carte with a refillable sides option. We chose beef short rib, chicken, and another beef item. What I really loved is they have a vegetarian platter too with good variety. We enjoyed the cooking, chatting, and eating and stayed there for almost 2 hours. They don't take reservations, and we had to wait around 30 minutes. But there are other restaurants around where you can snack while waiting. They are open until late at night. Would recommend not to drive as it's very hard to find parking. Being a K-food lover, would love to visit again. 🥰🤩🤤

Korean BBQ That Made Me Emotional The beef intestines? Life-changing. Crispy outside, creamy inside (probably filled with liver), cooked to perfection. I legit got emotional — because I knew I could never recreate this at home. The cast iron grill setup was brilliant: meat in the center, egg cooking on one side, cheesy corn melting on the other — every bite paired with warmth and richness. But honestly? The other meats, like the beef we ordered, were kind of disappointing. After tasting those intestines, I didn’t even care. From now on, I’m only coming back here for that. That’s the real star. 🫠

Google
This restaurant is an experience! From the concept itself and the decoration, to the variety and the service. This is definitely a place to eat and share with family and friends. When you order the meat, you will get the rest of things such as cucumbers, corn with cheese, lettuce, sprouts, etc. I have tried other bbq restaurants, but this one was outstanding. The quantities, the flavor, the freshness, the service... everything was just right! The only downside is that you will end up smelling like smoke afterwards, but it's worth it.

Google
Booked a table a week ahead and they were pretty busy when we arrived. The restaurant was cool and cozy. We got the table and quickly got taken care of My friend order 3 dishes because it was demanded but turned out the server got us an extra. I wasnt told til after I paid for it but anyway, it was a good service and good food. Still highly recommend to who loves Korean bbq in Montreal

Google
Food is good, really enjoyed the beef and banchan. Some seats have broken lights and is very dark, would recommend them adding a lamp. Unlimited refills on the banchan.

Google
One of the best Korean BBQ places we've ever been to. Food is excellent, side dishes in particular were better than most Korean places I've visited. Service was even better. But what really won us over was the great atmosphere and relatively low noise levels.

Google
My favorite Korean BBQ spot in Montreal! The place is beautiful, and the best part is the high-quality meat and generous portions of side dishes. I’ve been there many times, and they never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and I’d love to visit even more. Just a heads up: don’t go alone, as they have a policy that requires at least two portions of meat to be ordered per table. Highly recommended!

Google
This KBBQ has two locations downtown, both operating on the same concept. all-you-can-eat banchan, a soup to share, at least an order of meat per guest. The pork belly with skin was excellent and the beef tenderloin melted in the mouth. The staff frequently made their rounds to refill the banchan, and they showcased various flavors of soju. The inconvenience is that our coats smell like BBQ for a few days.

Yelp
Food was excellent the ordered meat cuts were of an expected quality The service was fine, no complaints about the people themselves just the method the restaurant chose to have there servers interact with customers was a bit odd and unreliable The whole restaurant was loud and quite busy, it made hearing others a bit difficult but not impossible. If I could rate this place more accurately it would be a 3.5/5 as it was great, but not amazing or fantastic. It is Korean bbq, it had nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd. Though I feel there is nothing wrong with a reliable place to eat.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Loved the boneless short rib (best choice) and the filet mignon (melt in your mouth!). The sides were delicious and plentiful, we ordered and reorder them- all for free, including the soup. The servers were quick, efficient and friendly. The ambience is warm, cozy and unique in the best way possible. Will always recommend.

Yelp
On a trip to Montreal a friend recommended this Korean bbq (KBBQ?) so we went. I've been to this particular variety of make your meats before. There's a big circular grill and you get sides (the cheesy corn is a delight, but they all are good) and you order raw meats to grill at your own leisure. Honestly, it's a hoot. The venue is kind of dark and crowded but I suspect that's for authenticity. Definitely worth a try. Thanks for the suggestion, Looch!

Yelp
Super grateful for a wonderful Xmas dinner. Cozy atmosphere n friendly print services. Extended operating hours are greatly appreciated:) All side dishes they provide were fresh, delicious and yummy, tyvm.

Yelp
Daldongnae is hands down the best Korean BBQ spot l've had the pleasure of visiting. I've been more than a dozen times now. It's authentic, great value for your money, kind and professional staff. I love coming here once a month; their heartwarming soup, sides and fresh meats are a 10/10. I love how Daldongnae has a large variety of soju flavours--some spots only have the original. Anyways, l highly recommend!

Yelp
We just got off the plane and put our bags away, and time for lunch. We were sat quickly, and given a refresher on how to order the menu which went well as we got the thinly sliced pork belly, and the ribeye, the sides come with it and a perfect accompaniment, cucumbers great, and the potato salad went nice, but the sweet corn was awesome, the omelette was light and fluffy like a soufflé. The kimchi fried rice is special.

Yelp
Came here on my last day in Montreal and this place was packed. Was told by a friend that unless you made a reservation, you either wouldn't get a spot or have to wait hours. There's a 2 hour limit to each table. We ended up just getting table bbq and ordered a bunch of meats and different cuts. They have a pretty great selection of cuts which was really nice. Each person is required to order 1 protein to satisfy the table bbq requirement. They have banchan and also some corn cheese and egg that melts on the grill itself. I think my only negative would be that the grill is too small for a large party. I think if you were eating by yourself or a party of 2, the grill size would be okay. However, we were a party of 6 and it took a while for everything to be fully cooked.

L T.

Yelp
This place should be 5 . It's the best KBBQ I have been to. And I've been to plenty in USA, Montreal, Vancouver etc .. any time I am in Montreal, I will be sure to dine here.

Yelp
This has to be one of my favorite Korean bbq places that I have ever eaten at (and I've tried so many)!!! Be prepared to wait!!!! This place can get busy and is very popular. If you like Melona, you must get the Melona cocktail, it's one of the best drinks/desserts I've ever had. The meat selection was fantastic, definitely go with a large group so you can try so many things!!! The banchan selection was absolutely amazing. They are unlimited, but you purchase your meats and other items by the order. (It is not all you can eat). Staff was really great too, even though it was so busy in here for dinner.

Sarah L.

Yelp
A very busy spot but we only had to wait 10 minutes. Reservation recommended! Menu was in French but staff were very helpful. Ingredients and dishes were excellent and very authentic. The only negative was we asked for extra romaine and it was never delivered.
google avatar

Lauri T.

Yelp
Authentic! We enjoyed everything! Service was awesome! We ate everything. We had the ribeye roll and pork butt. The prices were very good also.

Yelp
Let's just say Montreal is not known for their good Korean cuisine and this place will prove it. They have the highest rating among other Korean eateries, but to me it was just 3 stars. 1. Reservation: necessary. You will wait 45 mins on average otherwise 2. kBBQ: Meat was okay, the samgyobsal was too thin, it burned easily. What made the experience so mediocre is because of the sauce. You need good sauce to dip your meat! The WORST of all is the shape of their grill. If you've ever watched Korean documentary about kbbq Culture, you'd know there're so many different types of grills and the shape of it matters to the quality of the grilled meat. Anyway, they have the dumbest shaped grid for their grill.. when you grill oilier stuff like pork belly all its excess oil drips into the eggs and cheese & corn.. you can see the oil floating and makes the stuff taste horrible. Don't get me started on the unhealthiness of that fat.. In the state side, we use grills that drips the excess oil for waste.. way better that way.. just like in Korea. 3. Service: busy 4. Drinks: not much of a choice. beer mostly. I wish they had makku the best rice beer. Coming from DC and spoiled by Annandale, this was disappointing. But if you live in Montreal, this may be your best bet.

Eric L.

Yelp
I enjoy going there. Korean BBQ style where you grill your own food. Meat quality is good. Service is fine. Only bad side is that the restaurant is a bit dark.

Yelp
I would give daldongnae 4.5 stars if I could. The setting of the restaurant is great but ventilation is a little stale so make sure to change clothes if you go out afterwards as your clothes will smell of BBQ. Upon being seated, there were lots of banchan. Surrounding the grill are liquid eggs, corn cheese, kimchi, and garlic. Other banchan include japchae (noodles), bean sprouts, etc. I ordered the tenderloin and it was delicious. There's some sauces like sesame oil with salt and pepper and also ssamjang. There's also a soybean soup that comes to the table. All the banchan are refillable too! Overall, a solid great kbbq spot. There's lots of servers that are all around - the table I was at was asked by 3 different servers if we had ordered.

J M.

Yelp
Always excellent. Great bbq and atmosphere. Great chain and quality meat. Reasonably priced given the quality. You never leave hungry.

Yelp
Went for lunch when it wasn't very busy. We ordered 2 types of meat, but the waiter told us that they were sold out of one! How is this possible when they just opened an hour ago. It was still good, but bonchon was just ok. Seasoned bean sprouts were not good.

Yelp
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than to be early! After strolling downtown Montreal, we arrived at Daldongdae in time to shelter from impending rainfall. A larger group was asked to return later, but we lucked into a small booth. We were fired up, with our KBBQ grill. Daldongnae's dark nostalgic interior depicts the "moon villages" that became communal refuge post-Korean War. Having had a similar meal in Toronto, we knew to expect a large array of side dishes along with cheese corn & steamed egg to simmer on the grill. Soybean stew arrived later from the kitchen too. It's always fun to cook your own meat. The menu offers a selection of pork & beef cuts. Beef Boneless Short Ribs were worth it. The pre-marinated slices had a nice mix of meat & fat to round out the sweet & savoury seasoning by. We had Pork Belly again that was cut to three medium sized thick slices. It was tasty with a refreshing onion vinegar mix & the soybean paste sauce in lettuce wraps. Service was friendly yet to-the-point, although it became more sporadic as dinner became busy. After our meal, the wait time for even a small group was 1.5 hours! Rain or shine, it seems this Daldongdae provides fun & value that draws diners to the experience.
google avatar

Sandy T.

Yelp
Came here for dinner. Staff was friendly and service was okay. Couple of times we had to remind the server to bring extra side dishes. My favorite side dishes are the japchae and the potato salad. The meat was fresh. We ordered a fish cake soup and that was good. The egg on the side takes a while cook. The venting system is pretty good so when you leave you dont smell like bbq.

Yelp
We love Korean BBQ! Daldongnae did not disappoint. We loved Daldongnae so much we returned 2 days later to dine again! All tables have the built in gas grill in the center and they mostly have 2-4 seat booths - there are a few other larger tables. Daldongnae has a 1 page menu that you scan a QR code to get via your cell phone. There is an equal amount of beef and pork BBQ choices. Shrimp and assorted mushrooms are a side. We don't think chicken is an option. The kitchen appears teeny and the waiters/waitresses are hustling. We did find it odd that the beef was not marinated but it did not hinder our food experience. We ordered the beef short plate and boneless short rib. Daldongnae does not have bulgogi (usually made of rib-eye) so the waiter recommend the beef short plate as a substitute. We preferred the beef short plate as it's thin, cooks quickly and has great flavor. All the classic accompanying side dishes were there: lettuce leaves, standard dipping sauce (soy sauce with scallions), kim chi, potato/starch salad, seasoned bean sprouts, spicy pickled radishes/cucumbers, scrambled egg, garlic slices, etc. We did have to ask to order rice and pay for it but this is not unusual. Service was good. The first time we arrived at 5pm and were seated right away. The food came out rapidly and we were pleased that they refilled our water jug quickly but we did have to ask twice for the rice bowls. The place was packed when we left at 6pm. The second time we arrived around 5pm and were seated quickly but it took a while for the waiter to come over to take our initial order. It was a holiday Monday evening and it looked like most of the staff was just arriving around that time. We had an excellent dining experience and will return again! We are used to NYC Koreatown on 32nd St so here are our comparisons. We were surprised by the proliferation of pork choices - equal as many beef and pork choices - usually it's all beef with 1 choice of shrimp, chicken, maybe pork. Jap chae is a separate main dish. Same complimentary accompanying side dishes but the scrambled egg is cooked around the grill rim vs. NYC where it's served in a small individual pot as a complimentary side dish. In Montreal, we were left to grill our meat on our own - in NYC Koreatown the waitresses/waiter will grill the meat for you (makes sense as they want you out quicker and watching inexperienced grillers burn their beef has got to be both amusing and pitiful to watch) but Flushing Queens NYC restaurants they do also expect you to grill your own meat. Sometimes we get lucky and get the rice noodles to wrap the beef but most of the time it's lettuce leaves or for an extra charge a bowl of rice. Meat at Daldongnae is not marinated as mentioned before but the waiters indicated to use the standard dipping sauce (soy sauce with scallions or something similar). No plates are provided so when you need to remove excess meat or the scrambled egg, you have to empty an existing plate - we're probably meant to cook and eat as you go. Note: Daldongnae appears to be a mostly Korean BBQ restaurant - we aren't even clear if you wanted a dinner of non-BBQ items (without the BBQ) if this is allowed as they are listed as side dishes and quite limited varieties (e.g. only 1 bibimbap: kimchi bibimbap with fish roe).

Yelp
We found this cute underground Korean bbq spot in downtown Montreal and was so excited to give it a try. We were seated pretty quickly as we got there around 6 but as we were eating the place got pretty packed. We got the pork belly, the neck chain and the ribeye as well as the cold noodle soup. The meats were all pretty high quality meats and the presentation was great. Loved how delicious each cut was. It also come with eggs and cheese corn which you can refill until you finish the meats. The cold noodle coup was tasty and refreshing!! Our meal also came with a bunch of delicious banchan that worked well with the meat. Overall really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend you give it a try!

Yelp
We came here on a rainy day and the waiter recommended their spicy beef brisket soup. It was spicy and you can taste the beefy stock base. Generous portion of meet and veggies ( shredded beef briskets, eggs, and gosari, and bean sprouts). The only reason I took one star off because the soup flavor is lacking depth.

Adam S.

Yelp
The food is excellent and if good quality. The place is very busy , I suggest to make a reservation. The waiters are mostly young students and very friendly. It is very loud place but I recommend it

Yelp
It's the best Korean BBQ I've had in a while! The food was amazing, and the staff was very kind!

Yelp

Yelp
Perfect place for a date or dinner with friends! The process of cooking gives ample time to have conversations & drink! The food is absolutely delicious!! Quality of the meat, sides & vegetables is excellent! Great value for $$. Service is friendly & accommodating. Would definitely recommend this establishment and am already craving the food myself!

Yelp
If you are visiting Montreal this Kbbq place is a must have on your food list. The quality of meat was astounding. I live in NYC and no kbbq spot has matched this place. The quality of the meat was mouth watering, so delicious. The staff was also attentive and always there if you wanted more sides or even helpful meat suggestions. We ordered the beef boneless short rib and the beef chuck steak, both great meats however my favorite was the boneless short rib. The short rib was smooth like butter, perfectly cooked. To drink we had the Maksosa which was in the cute tea kettle. Maksosa is makgulli + soju + sprite. It was really good, deff a good drink to share with friends cause they give you a lot. Overall this is my favorite kbbq spot that i ever had, If you are traveling to Montreal or even live in Montreal please visit this place, you will not regret it. The lines may be long but it is worth the wait.
google avatar

Kathrina R.

Yelp
We had a bit of a wait just to be seated. The server took a while to come give us water and to even say hi to us. It's nice that you are able to get some refills on the sides which is on of my favourites. We got to try a bit of everything on the menu and shared between 6 people. It could be a bit pricey but worth it if you're any quality meats.

Yelp
Being from the states, its really hard to find an authentic Korean barbecue restaurant. Thus, we were very excited to find this location. We were in love with this restaurant! The food was soo delicious and as authentic as it gets to Korean barbecues! Having lived in Korea, the food and vibe of the restaurant made us feel like we were back in Korea. We had a table of four and had their famous table which was all we needed. It was PLENTY of food to feed the four of us. The pork belly and short rib were our favorite meats. All of their side dishes were fresh and delicious! Staff was also very accommodating and helpful with the menu, since the menu was mostly in French we had trouble understanding it. Overall, great food, great vibe and excellent customer service. We will definitely be returning here when we are in Montreal again.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here with high expectations from the reviews and popularity. We were told 1.5 hour wait on a Friday evening, so we decided to come back another day instead (they do not take any reservations). We came on a Monday afternoon, and the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated immediately and scanned the menu on our phones. The waiter gave us 6 side dishes: japchae, pickled cucumbers, sweet potato salad, seaweed, kimchi, and scallions. The pickled cucumbers and sweet potato salad were my favorite. You can also ask for unlimited refills on these as long as you have meat on the table. We ended up ordering one order of the pork belly ($18.99 CAD), one order of the boneless beef short rib ($28.99 CAD), and spicy cold noodles ($13.99 CAD). The meat arrived first to be self-grilled. The grill came with cheese corn, kimchi, egg, and garlic, all of which the unlimited refill policy also applies. I'm not a fan of pork belly, but eating it with the cheese corn was absolutely AMAZING. The meat was very tender and savory. And the addition of the sweetness of the corn enhanced such flavors. Highly recommend the pork belly. On the other hand, the boneless beef short rib was a huge disappointment. It was tough to the point where I was unable to bite/rip it apart, so I ate the pieces in one mouthful. They were tough and chewy rather than soft and tender. The meat itself lacked flavor. For the price, it was not worth it, and we wished we ordered pork belly instead. As for the spicy cold noodles, they were decent. I haven't had many in the past, but this one was a bit acidic for my taste. Not bad though. The service was decent as well. We had to remind our waiter of utensils and plates, but he was otherwise attentive. Overall, I would come back for the pork belly or perhaps a different cut of beef to try. The unlimited refills of side dishes is a plus. It was a good experience but quite pricy for the amount of meat you get.

Yelp
Very happy about their meticulousness when it comes to safety. You'll encounter a temperature and mask check at the door and they'll also take down your name and number in case they need to reach you for contact tracing. Wall the trimmings are promptly brought to your table and the grill is set up. There were so many options! From sweet cheesy corn to seaweed salad, marinated cucumbers, potato & apple salad (which was a favorite along with the corn), kim chi, tofu soup, lettuce leaves, glass noodles and my favorite was the salty dipping oil. Any of these can be refilled if you want! The meat came on a cutting board. We ordered the boneless short rib which were cut in slices and the beef rib eye roll which was like a 6oz slab of meat that came with a pair of kitchen shears to cut them up after cooking. Both cuts of meat were good. We tend to like them lean so this was perfect. The soup was brought at the end and we couldn't finish it. It was a little too salty and we were full. I have a similar comment about the place being a little too dark. You have a 2 hr time slot for your meal. Overall, a good place to eat!

Kaley M.

Yelp
Had some great Korean BBQ here! Service was a little slow but didn't mind too much. I wish the waiter had explained to the group a little bit more what to do (my family had never been to a place like this before) but I explained and they figured it out. Good portion sizes, come hungry!

Yasmine M.

Yelp
Good meat Good prices Ok drinks Ok staff CHEESE CORN out of this world Pretty quiet ambiance like there's barely anyone..

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic korean bbq, look no further - I'd say this is probably the best place in Montreal. It isn't all you can eat, but you definitely won't go home hungry. I'd say it's much more authentic than the all you can eat places, and the meat is higher quality. the meat isn't marinated so you can really tell that it's good quality meat. How it works is that you order minimum 1 meat per person (you should come with at least 1 friend, since the minimum is 2 meat orders! but if you're a real carnivore, feel free to go on your own!). They have a big assortment of pork and beef cuts to choose from. I would recommend the beef short rib - the marbling is amazing. I also really enjoyed the beef rib finger and the short plate. Good stuff! It's really amazing when eaten with the kimchi and condiments in a lettuce wrap. The pork bellly is good but nothing special, but the jowl is quite tasty. I really want to try the beef intestine but it needs two orders minimum sadly. The sides are refillable, and my absolute faves were the mashed squash - it has bits of apple in it for sweetness, and also the japchae. The cheesy corn was also really good too - it's grilled alongside the meat. I don't like that they charge 2$ for a single bowl of rice though - that's kind of ridiculous. But overall this is a great place for amazing bbq food.

Yelp
I love Daldongnae. I've had it Toronto and it's great. In fact, while visiting Montreal, I recommended it for a late dinner despite all the wonderful options surrounding us! The food was great still. However, the 3 stars is based on service unfortunately. We were told that we must order one meat dish per person (4 in total). We didn't think anything of it. We said yes, sat and started to decide based on the menu. We then find out that 3 of the beef options were sold out and we still had to order 4 dishes. We felt forced to make choices based on a restricted menu. It would have been nice to know about the sold out options, even as we sat downs. We felt "okay" about it and wanted to support the restaurant especially during this pandemic, so we did not complain. We have now found out that we only needed to order two dishes. This is the most disappointing. If this is incorrect, I would be happy to change my rating. But based on these two points, I would have to give this particular location 3/5.

Yelp
I've only been to this place twice so far and I like it each time! Reason for not returning as often is due to long lineup. Have to wait for over an hour each time and no reservations as we have less than 5 people. But overall I highly recommend this place if you don't want to do all you can each! The meats are good, many good and interesting dishes such as the kimchi fried rice is good! But slightly a bit small portion. The beef tartar is top notch! My favorite is their potato apple side dish! Free refills of it even better! Their cheese corn on the side of bbq is very flavorful also! We had a good time there and walk out full and bloated!

Yelp
Just found my favorite Korean BBQ in downtown Montreal that does Not break the bank! Partner and I strolled in on a packed Sunday evening at 7:30pm sans reservation. The lovely host initially advised a minimum 1.5 hour wait but if we could finish dinner in less than 1 hour 15 minutes, then we could be seated right away. We agreed! We knew exactly what to order: short ribs and ribeye so ordering was quick and easy. 200g of a nice thick cut ribeye for only CAD 23.99. We did a double take because hailing from NYC and LA, price was beyond reasonable. The beef did not disappoint. Food was delicious and staff incredibly friendly: two big thumbs up.

Nicole B.

Yelp
very good , price quality . perfect ambiance . The staff is very professional with a good service

Yelp
First of all seating area is not spacious, very cramped. The meat quality isn't too rate. Especially, do not eat rib eyes roll. It's like you are chowing rubber tires. That tough. (Very important. Do not order that rib eye roll) unless you want to feel like chow down rubber tire. Very disappointed. Rather go with short ribs, better wit Meat. The server doesn't grill meat. It's self service grilling. You will have to grill it. The tip starts at 18%, 20%, and 22%.

Yelp
Korean BBQ here is stellar. We ordered the short ribs and beef tenderloin. We also had the kimchi fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. My husband who has visited Korea said the food was authentic. We went for a late lunch on Saturday, and it was delicious.

Yelp
Ok, finally finally... Korean BBQ has arrived in MTL. In my humble opinion this is both the authentic BBQ experience and also the best Korean bbq I've had in MTL. It's not all you can eat, but a normal order of meat and side of paejun comes out to about 30$ per person if you're two. It's filling. The meat quality here is a cut above the all you can eat BBQ places. It comes with raw garlic (I think) which you grill and eat with the meat. You get some samjang which is the bean dipping sauce for Korean BBQ, a lot if places don't serve it in mtl. The bbq marinade is tasty it is good BBQ. The highlight for me is the sides, specifically the creamy cheese corn. It's gooey rich and sooooooo delish Can't wait to go back. Go now there usually is no lineup but there will be when enough ppl know about this place.

Yelp
I am a bit disappointed to write this review as I do believe that Montreal lacks good, authentic Korean BBQ compared to other major cities in North America and I thought Daldongnae had a chance at being one. Unlike some other authentic Korean BBQ places where the servers cook the meat for you at the table side, at Daldongnae, you're expected to cook your own. I particularly liked the ribeye cut, I thought it was the best selection out of their beef choices. However, I think due to the lack of competition they have for authentic Korean BBQ in downtown Montréal, the quality and service here has gotten extremely poor. They are *very* slow and not attentive. You can get unlimited refills of the side dishes but the portions are extremely small and quality is not that great. And you'll hav to wait a long time for each dish to be refilled since they're slow. Moreover, you will have to make quite the effort to get their attention to get service. They have several locations in Toronto (where it originated) and my experiences there have all been above average. I've also frequented the Montréal location a few times but my most recent visit was shockingly poor that I'm afraid I will not return and cannot recommend this place anymore. On my latest visit, I ordered the beef tartare as appetizer. I often like ordering tartares at most restaurants I visit, and I love korean beef tartare so I was excited. However, this was probably the worst dining experience I experienced; it arrived completely frozen. We couldn't eat it, the texture was awful and it was like chewing rubbery ice. I know that often the meat is frozen very lightly to aid with the thin slicing, but this was just plain bad. I normally hate sending food back or asking to speak to the manager, but for the first time in my life I asked to speak to the manager, who never came out of the back room. All of the servers were relayed the message to let me know that " it is supposed to be frozen ". I couldn't believe it. Then they also charged me fully for the item even though I did not eat it. Needless to say, I'm disappointed that this is the reality as this was the *one* place in town that I frequently recommended to my friends for best Korean BBQ in town but will no longer be doing so.

Yelp
This place offers a more authentic kbbq experience than other places in Montréal, it was quite enjoyable! The price for the meat is definitely not cheap, but you do get a lot of side dishes. Although the meat is not "à volonté", all the side dishes are, so you can have as much as you want. All the side dishes were great, except the tofu soup which was ok. Overall, I recommend the place if you want an authentic kbbq experience!

Yelp
I was so excited about I found beef intestines in this restaurant. But the taste was unlikely to be the same as original. And no tables service. No seasoning and no oil is a fatal deduction for barbecue. Kinda disappointed.

Yelp
New Korean BBQ in downtown Montreal! During this pandemic, it's so great to finally be able to dine in some restaurant. I happened to pass by this new place and decided to give it a try. 1st I want to point out this restaurant is doing all their best to keep us safe and healthy. They have a no mask no service rules, I literally saw them refusing customer because one of them didn't wear a mask! They also ensure social distancing where they keep empty tables where its to close to another. Well done! This is not a AYCE BBQ place so the food is on another level. You'll be treated with A class meat and ingredients. You can see the picture yourself. The meat are not marinated to which you can actually taste the freshness. Would it be flavourless? No, they added some little spice on it and most importantly it comes with side dishes and sauce. When you get there and if you're unsure what and how many to order, just ask the waiter for advice, they will recommend you their top choices. I find the portion and price are fair, especially in downtown areas. I kind of wish they have more hot appetizers to order, unfortunately choices are much. I ordered seafood pancake (who doesn't when you go to a Korean restaurant, right?) umm.. It was okay. We also ordered a Kim Chi fried rice, honestly I was never a fan of Kim Chi, let along Kim Chi fried rice... But OMG, it was so good, the rice is nicely cooked, no to saugy and with big chunk of pork as well. MUST TRY! Overall, I had an amazing experience, had fun and enjoy a very tasty meal with the wife. Will I go back? What do you think? The question is WHEN will I go back lol. Don't forget to call in advance to make a reservation!

Yelp
I'm so glad they opened in Montreal! No need to travel all the way to Toronto to have a bite of authentic K-bbq. This place is the real deal! I always order the pork belly and boneless short rib, fresh, juicy and sizzling, yum! The side dishes are really good as well and they're free & refillable. The waiters are very friendly, I love the ambiance of the restaurant too, it looks like a retro style Korean restaurant. They play k-pop music which I like too. I'll be coming back every month for sure!

Yelp
Highly recommend. It is a korean bbq chain from Toronto : they have several stores in the Greater Toronto area but this one is their first restaurant in Montreal. It is fairly pricey comparing to other spots in Montreal (we took pork belly 16.99$ & beef boneless short ribs 26.99$) but you get more than 10 varieties of side dishes (with free refills) including soft tofu soup, silky egg, cheese corn, garlic, marinated onions, 3 kinds of kimchi, japchae, lettuce, seaweed, etc. Overall, I think it's worth it to pay a bit more since you get the quality and quantity with it. They don't just serve kbbq, you can also order korean classics such as kimchi fried rice, stew, korean pancakes, stir-fried pork and rice (and more) to eat with your grilled meats. The only thing I didn't like was that the place is very dark, little lighting, but I understand it was for the mood and ambiance of the traditionnal kbbq restaurant. Highly recommend you try this place with your family and friends.
