Dale Zine - Review - Design District - Miami - The Infatuation

"You can’t eat at Dale Zine, but this zine shop and bookstore is one of our favorite places to spend a rainy day reading and drinking coffee. They don’t actually sell coffee, but it’s easy to grab an iced latte nearby (there’s good coffee inside MIA Market). Walk it over and sip while you flick through books dedicated to Miami ventanitas and zines documenting the final day of Dandy Bear." - Mariana Trabanino

Dale Zine is an absolute gem in Miami! The moment I walked in, I was blown away by the carefully handpicked and curated selection of books, zines, trinkets and galactic treasures. Every corner of the store is full of vibrant energy. You can feel the love and creativity that went into building this space. The staff was incredibly helpful, welcoming and made the experience even more special. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Interesting bookstore; they also have an art exhibition at the end of the store, a really nice stop while shopping in the design district.

I ❤️ DALE ZINE! The world needs more independent book stores, and this place is one of a kind, so so special!!! The owners Lilli & Steve are some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, they are committed to creating an inclusive space for print & art to thrive in Miami! When you step inside you can tell that so much thought & love went into every detail. Spending time here is always so much fun & bringing home a book or zine is inevitable, there’s so many unique finds! Truly something for everyone, all ages, & many mediums to choose from. Art, photography, novels, poetry, tote bags, candles, dogs, & cards to write love letters! Thank you Dalé Zine for bringing together the community at your many events, the hard work does not go unnoticed…endless praise!!!

This place is a really cool spot for art lovers! They have a great selection of art books, and you can even chill and read at the tables and chairs inside. Plus, they put out free newspapers every month with updates on events, exhibitions, and other art news. Definitely worth checking out 🙃

We passed this store during an art tour of the Design District and it looked so cute! We circled back afterwards and were so happy we did. It's an adorable store with great vibes, great art, local zines, bespoke gifts... just AWESOME. The cashier was super nice and friendly. Don't miss this amazing store, support local art!

Yelp
Dale Zine is a gem like no other in Miami. I've just recently visited their new location in the Miami Design District. They were previously in a smaller location in Little River but have moved and expanded in this location. They sell unique and interesting zines, books, prints, and accessories. A great place to discover independent artists and buy cool gifts. Their new space even has a gallery area so it was a treat to explore their current exhibition. Staff is always so kind and helpful. They also have various events throughout the year and bring together the Miami community. Can't wait to come by again soon!

Yelp
I needed to pick up my old, broken machines from an art gallery on Miami Beach so I decided to take advantage of the trip down with a visit to the NEW new Dale (like the racecar driver) Zine (slang for little magazine) shop. In a city infamous for its vapid plastic surgery disasters, superfluous BROdent infestations, fentynal fatalities, grubby opportunists, and babies on boards, a legit book store like Dale's Zines is a breath of fresh, dulce de leche vape-laced air amongst a cultural desert. The new location is in hustling bustling Design District; (check my Yelp from 2016 for the full scoop on that place). It's across the street from the old Piccadilly Garden; the first place I ever heard underground hip-hop outside of my walkman as a young buck in the early noughties. I agreed to do a Yelp review of the new shop, so not only was I coming in to spend money I don't have on obscure art books I don't need, I was there for some market research as well. The electricity seemed to be working correctly and the AC was blowing cold! The servant at the sales counter was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the items in the store. She was playing tasteful, ambient music which made for an enjoyable experience whilst browsing. The guy from Jacuzzi Boys currently has an art show there. They have chairs and tables now so you can come in and just read a bunch of stuff for free without buying anything. I ended up purchasing a book about Underground 80's cassette artwork and another about Bauhaus Künste-master Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Eat yer heart out Barnes and Nobles! Let's all enjoy the magnificent cultural institution that is Dale's Zines (book emoji, worm emoji, wistful watery eyes emoji, heart emoji). Pros: On-point book selection, signature checkerboard floor. Lots of light. I brought my camera and took some artsy photos in and around the store. Cons: It took me one hour and 10 minutes to drive home due to Miami Music Week traffic (melty face emoji). * Not Dále's Fault* Follow me on Yelp for more delicious reviews
