The Best New Under-the-Radar Restaurant Openings in Loss Angeles, May 2025 | Eater LA

"A dessert cafe that replaced the Coin De Rue location at 125 N. Western Avenue (Coin De Rue’s other bakery/cafe on Western and Eleventh Street remains open). Seated service invites patrons to enjoy injeolmi cream buns, Hokkaido cheesecake, matcha cookies, and cream-filled maritozzo. Drink options include a cream-topped cold brew, a yuzu slush, and a dirty chai latte with a shot of espresso." - Rebecca Roland

Ashi at Dalkom is friendly and provides great service! She greeted me with a smile and took the time to make sure my order was just right. She even gave us recommendations what to get. When a group of us were struggling to take a pic, she has what we Koreans call *noonchi* and came right away to take it for us. She even made sure our table was clean and photo friendly LOLL. Spanish latte is definitely a must! Definitely will go back again and try other drinks she recommends~

Pretty good pastries. Weak iced matcha lattes. Great service. Parking in the lot becomes valet at times. I had a berry tart and tried the almond croissant and both were very good. Sadly the matcha latte was weak in matcha so the flavor was off. Upstairs they have a cool ambiance.

They managed to achieve a rich, decadent profile without being overbearing. That 'melt-in-your-mouth' quality is exactly what you want in a high-end treat.

I am so surprised by the reviews. Either management listened and retrained staff or I went on a good day because the customer service was exceptional. I was greeted as soon as I walked in with a welcome and a smile. The entire time, the staff was friendly. Answered my questions and was accommodating. I ordered the carrot cake, pistachio cream latte, and a strawberry tart. Very delicious! I would definitely come back.

My friend and I bought 4 slices of cake from this place. One had a chocolate dip strawberry. When I took a bite the strawberry smelled bad I checked and found mold on it. We called the shop right away to let them know, hoping they would stop selling it to others. But the person on the phone sounded annoyed and told us to come back if we wanted a refund. We explained we were already back at our accommodation and too far to return. It wasn’t about the $3 we just wanted to inform them. They told us to send a photo but after we did ,we got no reply. Most upsetting, they never even said sorry. Very poor customer service. I don’t recommend this place at all.

My babe and I were in the area and wanted a cozy spot for a snack and a sit and Dalkom provided! The Kiwi Cake was exceptional, the hospitality was fabulous, and the upstairs seating area was cozy and quiet. We will absolutely be back to try more of the lovely deserts and enjoy a lovely oasis for conversation!

Google
Yummy desserts and good parking, upstairs so so beautiful. A lot of spots to eat, rest, study, a lot of rooms! Definitely coming back, we got the chocolate cake and strawberry cake and they were fresh and yummy! 😋

Google
Got the pear pie and holy hot damn is it amazing. Genuinely so good. They also have a parking lot and massive upstairs study/eating area. Coming back 100% to try everything they got

Yelp
Came here to study on a friends suggestion. I love it here. It's on the quieter side and they do have a small parking lot. They also have study rooms but they do need to be reserved in advance, which I'm not sure how. WiFi was a little tricky in the beginning. It wasn't working even though I was connected to it. After a few minutes, it was working smoothly. Definitely was not due to a volume of people because I went in around 9 AM and there were like 6 people at most. Seemed to have a good amount of outlets, so you don't have to pray to get a seat with an outlet nearby. The seats are comfortable to sit in too, which is amazing. I had an iced vanilla latte, iced chocolate latte, citron canele, and Lemon Tart. Vanilla latte was not anything special, it's your typical vanilla latte. I really liked the iced chocolate latte, it was rich and creamy. I'm also obsessed with the citron canele. The lemon tart ok, there was a little too much whipped cream on top and the baked part at the bottom was a little hard. Staff is super friendly and mainly stay downstairs. Definitely will come back again for another long study session.

Yelp
I stopped by on a Thursday evening and was happy to find that it's a pet friendly place after passing by on my stroll with my dog. I tried the yuzu lemon tea with a pumpkin cheesecake and everything was sooo delicious! I can't stop thinking about that tea even now. And the customer service was top notch. The guy at the counter was attentive and very friendly. Plus the seating upstairs is quite spacious and perfect for any time! Truly a gem and will be coming back!

Yelp
My friends and I had stopped here for a bit. We ordered ham and cheese croissants. Drinks: Earl Grey, Matcha, and a Strawberry Matcha. Matcha is on the stronger side. The seating is awesome. 1st story has limited seating but the 2nd story is spacious and filled with outlets. Perfect for hanging out or for studying. It was empty when we were there around 11am on a Fri morning but I'm sure it gets crowded during the evening times. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Ambiance: A spacious, modern café that works equally well for both working and socializing/something rare to find. There are plenty of outlets and WiFi, plus private nooks and booths for quieter work sessions or more private conversations. The second-story layout gives it a unique, open vibe where you can enjoy your time without the usual background noise of people ordering at the counter. Clean, comfortable, and versatile--perfect for almost any occasion. Coffee & Food: Solid coffee spot Smooth, flavorful, and thoughtfully made. They also have a great selection of pastries and a savory menu that goes beyond typical café fare (I'm excited to try more of it!). Everything I've had so far has been solid, making it just as good for a light bite as it is for coffee. Service: Super! Henry and Patrice, the baristas, are amazing! They're incredibly helpful in navigating the menu, always know which coffee to suggest, and bring such a fun, hospitable energy to the café. Their warmth and enthusiasm elevate the whole experience. Why I Love It: Super clean and well-kept. Tons of options for both work and casual meetups. Open later than most coffee shops, which makes it perfect for evening hangouts or late-night productivity. Parking: Plenty of options--street, metered, residential, and even a lot nearby. Since it's on a main street, parking is generally not too difficult to find. Overall: Dalkom Café checks all the boxes. Great coffee, good food, welcoming staff, clean and spacious seating, and flexible enough for work, study, or catching up with friends. Definitely one of the best all-around coffee spots in K-Town.

Yelp
8/10/2025 - I was told this store offers a freshly pressed beets juice, which can clean liver. I visited the store for that purpose. Yes, the taste is very good. Recommend to arrive earlier and relax by enjoying your drink at the lounge on the second floor. The staff I met is friendly. The free parking is available in front of the store.

Yelp
Pastries are so fresh!! Light, cant feel that guilty! Also realllllly blown away on how friendly the staff was- to everyone! It was our first time, and will return. Thank you!!!

Yelp
Overall I would say the pastries were a 3/5. We ordered the peach danish pastry, custard turnover and a strawberry Nutella croissant. The peach danish tasted the best out of all of the options we selected. The custard turnover and the strawberry Nutella croissant were just ok, would recommend skipping. On the other hand, service was really good! The cashier was informative and kind, which is why I gave this cafe a 4/5 instead of a 3. This place replaced coin de rue, and honestly I feel like coin de rue was better and had more variety with their pastries. Dalkom had a wide variety of cakes though. Not sure if I would recommend, I honestly would recommend going to Paris baguette directly across from this cafe instead.

Yelp
A group of us came on a Saturday. It was quite busy but we all managed to find parking easily. I got the iced mocha which was quite sweet. I also got the cheese danish which was the best I've ever had 'y friends liked their drinks too. It's such a cute place and it's also dog friendly!!!

Yelp
Honestly laughable how bad the food is at this place. It has a fantastic upstairs to work, but the pastries and sweets are so bad I'm not even sure it's worth it to get something just to work up there. Random assortment of fruits on the tart (melon? grape? slices of oranges?). It was funny.

Yelp
I ordered a Chai Latte and got a Strawberry Cheesecake from the owner of Dalkom. Amazing food, amazing quiet study spot, and great cleanliness of the place. Update: mold on the strawberry cake. Avoid pastries.

Yelp
Favorite coffee shop in LA! The ambiance is great - plenty of seating upstairs with comfortable seating to chat or study. Lady at the front was super friendly and gave me great recommendations. First time trying a canele dessert and it was the perfect sweetness and texture! I know this coffee shop just opened a few months ago and seems like so many great improvements have been made since the first few months of the business starting. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Yelp
Very nice place for quiet hangout by yourself or with friends. Tried their matcha red beans dessert and yuzu cream latte. Rich dessert and unique tasty drink. A bit on the richer side. Place is kept clean and carries contemporary vibeOverall highly recommended!

Yelp
It used to be Coin de Rue Bakery, and it was pretty good place with great selection of pastries and plenty of options to choose from. Now, after the name change, all the pastries are gone and the menu is completely different... there are no good options anymore. On top of that, the customer service is awful. When we walked in and said "hi," nobody even replied. Two workers were standing there talking to each other, completely ignoring customers. No eye contact, no greetings, nothing. I didn't even bother ordering anything. It's really sad that the old bakery is gone because it used to be worth coming to. This new version? Definitely not coming back.

Yelp
Came here to buy a last minute birthday cake for a friend's bday. We thought the cake selection is decent and we proceeded to buy a chocolate cake with raspberries on top. As we were cutting it up and eating it, someone pointed to the raspberries and noticed fuzz underneath all of them. There was mold all over the raspberries. One person from the group ate it already without noticing it in the light. We went back and received a refund. But this is absolutely disgusting for a shop that specializes in desserts and cakes.

Yelp
Their customer service was amazing!! I met up with a couple of friends here and we were undecided of which desserts to try and the guy working their made a few suggestions and even gave us a complimentary bean dessert (not sure what it's called) but I loved it! Desserts tasted great, my favorite was the tiramisu!! There is an upstairs area that's great for studying. There are also small rooms (open concept) great for small groups. If you're wondering about parking, it's in a parking lot that offers valet ($4 not bad).

Robbie R.

Yelp
Came in one night for a sweet treat. Man was it a treat! We wanted something light so we got the chocolate strawberries. Not knowing there was MOLD in it. I tried calling them after to tell them. And they hung up on me. never coming here again

Christian H.

Yelp
Like several other customers have already posted, we ordered a slice of cake with berries and noticed they were moldy. It is very concerning that this is apparently a pattern! The worker was very kind and apologetic and he refunded us, but this was pretty gross.

kassy k.

Yelp
Ordered a matcha latte and got a drink I couldn't even drink because it was so chunky and bitter

Stephen K.

Yelp
I got what looked like a day old croissant for a new pastry price. Their coffee was good, though. I will give them one more try.

Charley S.

Yelp
Went here for a cream bun yesterday--most of the Korean baked goods were gone? It looked like an American cafe. I left and went to Paris Baguette instead.

Rich L.

Yelp
Awesome bakery. They have Italian maritozzi/maritozzo and it's delicious. There's a big, open space upstairs that is very nice and chill.
