The Best New Under-the-Radar Restaurant Openings in Loss Angeles, May 2025 | Eater LA

"A dessert cafe that replaced the Coin De Rue location at 125 N. Western Avenue (Coin De Rue’s other bakery/cafe on Western and Eleventh Street remains open). Seated service invites patrons to enjoy injeolmi cream buns, Hokkaido cheesecake, matcha cookies, and cream-filled maritozzo. Drink options include a cream-topped cold brew, a yuzu slush, and a dirty chai latte with a shot of espresso." - Rebecca Roland

Pretty good pastries. Weak iced matcha lattes. Great service. Parking in the lot becomes valet at times. I had a berry tart and tried the almond croissant and both were very good. Sadly the matcha latte was weak in matcha so the flavor was off. Upstairs they have a cool ambiance.

My friend and I bought 4 slices of cake from this place. One had a chocolate dip strawberry. When I took a bite the strawberry smelled bad I checked and found mold on it. We called the shop right away to let them know, hoping they would stop selling it to others. But the person on the phone sounded annoyed and told us to come back if we wanted a refund. We explained we were already back at our accommodation and too far to return. It wasn’t about the $3 we just wanted to inform them. They told us to send a photo but after we did ,we got no reply. Most upsetting, they never even said sorry. Very poor customer service. I don’t recommend this place at all.

I am so surprised by the reviews. Either management listened and retrained staff or I went on a good day because the customer service was exceptional. I was greeted as soon as I walked in with a welcome and a smile. The entire time, the staff was friendly. Answered my questions and was accommodating. I ordered the carrot cake, pistachio cream latte, and a strawberry tart. Very delicious! I would definitely come back.

I would first educate staff to be friendly. I get the impression that the staff is giving me attitude for a simple question. Being nice to a customer is a simple gesture and should be basic customer service. There are a lot of coffee shops in Ktown. why do business here at all if you’re not gonna treat your customers in a rude tone

I visited on a Sunday night and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. When I walked in, no greetings or welcome. Honestly, I don't really expect over-the-top welcomes, but at least say a simple "hi" when a customer walks up to the counter. The young woman with glasses in a ponytail taking orders was very rude. She looked visibly unhappy to be there, and it obviously showed through her rude and unprofessional attitude. No basic manners and zero customer service skills. This has happened with the same woman during my previous visit as well. She was quiet the whole time and didn't even say a single word to me. I felt like I was talking to a wall. I ordered some bread and drinks. The bread was average at best and overpriced for the quality. Also, why is there loud rap music with slurs playing at a study cafe? The vibes were not it. There were a lot of seats upstairs, which was nice. However, I would never come back due to poor customer service. It's hard to support a business that doesn't prioritize training its staff to treat customers with basic respect. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of other cafes where you can enjoy better service and food that feels worth your money. The place seems newly renovated - now they just need to renovate their staff while they're at it.

My friend and I arrived at 1 stayed for 3 and a half hours and then went out for 10 minutes because we needed a break. After we came back, the workers chased us up the stairs telling us that the cafe only allows up to 2 hours per table. They told us to either leave or buy another item in the menu, but we have seen other customers stay for longer without needing to get another drink. Although we don’t know as to why we were the only ones to get kicked out, we will not be coming back and I do not recommend this to people who are looking for a place to study.

I usually come here every Friday before the open mic down the street. Normally I get coffee. So they told me I have to get something or get out. I get it’s a business but I get something every week and the one day I don’t they throw me out.

The staff is nice and the drinks are delicious. They are a great hidden gem in Ktown. I highly recommend the Butter Scotch Latte!

Yelp
Ambiance: A spacious, modern café that works equally well for both working and socializing/something rare to find. There are plenty of outlets and WiFi, plus private nooks and booths for quieter work sessions or more private conversations. The second-story layout gives it a unique, open vibe where you can enjoy your time without the usual background noise of people ordering at the counter. Clean, comfortable, and versatile--perfect for almost any occasion. Coffee & Food: Solid coffee spot Smooth, flavorful, and thoughtfully made. They also have a great selection of pastries and a savory menu that goes beyond typical café fare (I'm excited to try more of it!). Everything I've had so far has been solid, making it just as good for a light bite as it is for coffee. Service: Super! Henry and Patrice, the baristas, are amazing! They're incredibly helpful in navigating the menu, always know which coffee to suggest, and bring such a fun, hospitable energy to the café. Their warmth and enthusiasm elevate the whole experience. Why I Love It: Super clean and well-kept. Tons of options for both work and casual meetups. Open later than most coffee shops, which makes it perfect for evening hangouts or late-night productivity. Parking: Plenty of options--street, metered, residential, and even a lot nearby. Since it's on a main street, parking is generally not too difficult to find. Overall: Dalkom Café checks all the boxes. Great coffee, good food, welcoming staff, clean and spacious seating, and flexible enough for work, study, or catching up with friends. Definitely one of the best all-around coffee spots in K-Town.

Yelp
It used to be Coin de Rue Bakery, and it was pretty good place with great selection of pastries and plenty of options to choose from. Now, after the name change, all the pastries are gone and the menu is completely different... there are no good options anymore. On top of that, the customer service is awful. When we walked in and said "hi," nobody even replied. Two workers were standing there talking to each other, completely ignoring customers. No eye contact, no greetings, nothing. I didn't even bother ordering anything. It's really sad that the old bakery is gone because it used to be worth coming to. This new version? Definitely not coming back.

Yelp
8/10/2025 - I was told this store offers a freshly pressed beets juice, which can clean liver. I visited the store for that purpose. Yes, the taste is very good. Recommend to arrive earlier and relax by enjoying your drink at the lounge on the second floor. The staff I met is friendly. The free parking is available in front of the store.

Yelp
Overall I would say the pastries were a 3/5. We ordered the peach danish pastry, custard turnover and a strawberry Nutella croissant. The peach danish tasted the best out of all of the options we selected. The custard turnover and the strawberry Nutella croissant were just ok, would recommend skipping. On the other hand, service was really good! The cashier was informative and kind, which is why I gave this cafe a 4/5 instead of a 3. This place replaced coin de rue, and honestly I feel like coin de rue was better and had more variety with their pastries. Dalkom had a wide variety of cakes though. Not sure if I would recommend, I honestly would recommend going to Paris baguette directly across from this cafe instead.

Yelp
I ordered a Chai Latte and got a Strawberry Cheesecake from the owner of Dalkom. Amazing food, amazing quiet study spot, and great cleanliness of the place. Update: mold on the strawberry cake. Avoid pastries.

Yelp
Came in one night for a sweet treat. Man was it a treat! We wanted something light so we got the chocolate strawberries. Not knowing there was MOLD in it. I tried calling them after to tell them. And they hung up on me. never coming here again

Yelp
Came here to buy a last minute birthday cake for a friend's bday. We thought the cake selection is decent and we proceeded to buy a chocolate cake with raspberries on top. As we were cutting it up and eating it, someone pointed to the raspberries and noticed fuzz underneath all of them. There was mold all over the raspberries. One person from the group ate it already without noticing it in the light. We went back and received a refund. But this is absolutely disgusting for a shop that specializes in desserts and cakes.

Yelp
It's really sad that there is no review for this cafe when it deserves so much more!! I guess it makes sense because apparently the owner changed recently(previously Coin de Rue) but most of their menu is the same(thank god). What I like the most is the SPACIOUS second floor where you and your friends can come together to talk or study lol. You have to order 1 dessert or drink per person but it's valid cuz their seats are comfy unlike other cafes keeping petty, hard chairs that are intended to make you feel uncomfortable sitting for a long time haha. AND YES YOU GOTTA TRY THEIR SCRUMPTIOUS TARTS, CREAM BUNS AND COLD BREW CREAM LATTE OMG!!! The fruits are FULLY STACKED on top of their tarts and you won't regret getting those! Definitely coming back for their caramel banana tarts cuz I think they are new in this location. TL;DR - Wifi and bathroom provided on the receipt so keep it! - Free parking I think...? I think it was around 4 bucks when the valet guy is there - Vibey second floor to hangout with friends - Strict rule for no outside food and stuff - Some seats don't have outlets. Big booths do, but they are for 5 people and more. - Service is much better than the Paris Baguette facing across - YUMMY YUMMY DESSERTS AND BREADS

Yelp
Went here for a cream bun yesterday--most of the Korean baked goods were gone? It looked like an American cafe. I left and went to Paris Baguette instead.

Yelp
Ordered a matcha latte and got a drink I couldn't even drink because it was so chunky and bitter

Stephen K.

Yelp
I got what looked like a day old croissant for a new pastry price. Their coffee was good, though. I will give them one more try.

Yelp
Awesome bakery. They have Italian maritozzi/maritozzo and it's delicious. There's a big, open space upstairs that is very nice and chill.
