Guy Fieri’s Casino Restaurant Temporarily Closes Less Than a Week After Opening | Eater Dallas

"Pivoting from its traditional Dallas All-Star Chef Classic in-person fundraiser, the Dallas 24 Hour Club produced a cookbook featuring home recipes from many of Dallas’s top chefs (including Tracy Miller of LOCAL, Janice Provos of Parigi, and Abraham Salum of Salum); with the pandemic making large gatherings risky and more people cooking at home, the cookbook is currently available for preorder and will be released November 1, with proceeds helping fund the Club’s work to help unhoused people recover from addiction." - Brittanie Shey

Historically, it’s usually been a good idea to offer small cash jobs to the people here that are working on changing their lives. Recently, I was moving and got some help from a couple of guys here. Aiden was really helpful, worked hard. I asked another guy “D” if he knew how to paint he said he did…. Long story short I paid him to do two days work and I’m having to redo everything he did. Paint splattered all over floors, appliances, large white spots, 4 hours on 2 shelves and 2 doors, literally looked like a 5 yo got paint and attempted. He was guided, and he lied, he did not know how to paint. The chairs he put together had directions and I’m guessing he felt “above” the basic directions as they were assembled without the washers that came in the pkg, and he left his trash and debris all over the floor. Took 3 hours to put together TWO chairs that have to be reassembled now. So… after this 2nd experience 🌸NO MAS!!! I paid $20/hr cash might as well threw it to the wind

Would be a lot more but that is the last place I had my cell phone on May 14 2024 and I am not anyone there's nickname. I lived there from August 12 2022 to January 23 2023 however when I moved to my mom's everyone called me crazy ghosted me. I thought better of this place. But it is just another nonprofit that hurt me. Then gaslighted me.

Yelp
I have driven by this place many times and had an idea as to what it was - a home for men and women who are in trouble because of alcohol and / or drugs and who have a desire to achieve sobriety. The 24 Hour Club provides transitional housing, support and guidance. Today, the 24 Hour Club was having a car wash so I stopped by. For $10, my car was washed and I learned a little more about this place. 60 people live in the small, converted hotel where, rumor has it, Bonnie and Clyde once stayed. Residents pay $8 a day and get help finding a job and other resources that they need to turn their lives around. The Director, Russ Vandeveerdonk, describes the place as "a college dorm without the homework or booze." The have a small restaurant inside ($1 pancakes) that is open 24 hours a day. Friday night is Steak Night and they have live music on their lawn. The 24 Hour Club gives hope to people who really need it. I encourage you to support this organization - stop by, go to their website and make a donation via Paypal or check out their Wish List and drop off some of the items that they need.

Yelp
Excellent place for those who want recovery but maybe do not have the means for expensive medical treatment. Lots of structure and guidance for those that are willing to take advantage of what is offered. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The $9.98 for steak night really is true, live music, well they had 1980's and 1990's country music superstar Janie Fricke singing there for free while residents dined. Just an awesome place, THE SPOT for cheap eats and valued entertainment on Friday nights!!

Yelp
The 24 has been such a blessing for my daughter and my family. She struggled with addiction for many years. While at the 24, she was the happiest and healthiest she had been her entire adult life.

Yelp
World's BIGGEST PANCAKE and was a mere $1 for so very long until some greedfreak showed up and raised the tradition to a pricey $1.50. Well, it' s still a lot cheaper than IHOP. All these years and these turkeys couldn't figure out what they had in pomo value with their pancake: A HUGE promotional piece they just never capitalized on. Go figure.
