What a nice find. Leaving the Social Security office, my beautiful life companion stated she was hungry and asked if we could stop for a bite. I had no idea where to stop. There are no shortages of places to eat in the MetroMess. I was not familiar with the area, so I headed home. I soon realized the standard route would not take me anywhere near a restaurant. I made a quick right and headed to a different part of town. I was surprised by the turn I would have normally taken and ended up heading in the opposite direction. Within a block, the Dallas Diner appeared out of nowhere--of course, it was somewhere. Let's give these guys a shot; I told Tish. She agreed, and it was a done deal.
The place was small. It was not crowded. It was a little late for breakfast and a little early for lunch. Our waitress made us be welcome.
I liked the feel of the place. Knowing Spanish would be a good thing but not necessary. I think the menu is diverse. I selected a hash and egg breakfast. Tish ordered the chicken fried steak.
The food came promptly. It was good, old fashion diner food. Tish said her CFS was not the best she'd ever eaten, but it was tasty and well worth the price. One way or the other, it was a thumbs up. I enjoyed my hash and eggs very much. Not every dining establishment serves hash for breakfast. I considered Dallas Diner to be a go-to for breakfast. We'll have to come back for a lunch and see how that is. The people next to us had a lunch plate, and it looked delicious. I bet their lunches are equally as good as their breakfast.
I say, give them a shot. I think you'll like the place.
