Dallas Diner

I stopped by earlier this morning for the first time. This is a great spot that I wish hadn't overlooked several times before. The food was delicious and the service by Aida was spot on. She is very kind, welcoming, and attentive. You get a very good sized portion for the price and the coffee was hot and fresh with free refills. I will definitely be back!

My husband and visited this diner and where greeted by friendly faces! We ordered the cafe special and the big man breakfast. Everything was absolutely delicious and affordable for all we received. We will definitely be going back!

Simple and fast place to eat a late day breakfast with all the traditional fixings. They refill your coffee often and fresh. They couldn’t break a hundred dollar bill but they were very easy going on me getting more cash from my car. I will keep going back.

Customer service was fast and easy, and clean. Food was fresh and good. Atmosphere was beautiful. Small place, but the people there make it feel like home and also worth the wait.

Very nice retro diner. Has that cozy country style diner atmosphere. Service was good, the food was very good. I had the quesadillas, and they were hot and served with a very nice sauce. I would recommend this establishment and will be making return trips in the very near future. Throwback through and through. Great food h service.

If you have not been here, GO!! We had brunch plans with family and a party of 13 people. We had originally planned on going to another place about 15 minutes down the road. However, they decided at the last minute they would not seat a party of our size. SOOOOO, Google to the rescue!! This place is 100000% amazing and the service is amazing!! The food is amazing, and we will be back!

Biggest compliment one could give is, we WILL be going back in the near future. Only notch is that they only had one lady taking orders. Maybe some understaffing, but food came out as soon as order was taken. Thank You

A good, basic breakfast diner. Service is friendly, good coffee, even a seniors selection. We had the sausage, but the bacon looked really good, too. Next time will try the breakfast tacos.

A throwback diner. Not a ton of seating but that adds to the appeal. Bar seating was great. Food was great. Very attentive staff. Most certainly will come back.

Solid breakfast game with all the typical breakfast foods one would expect in Dallas including basics and TexMex options. Today we tried something completely different ...lunch. Enchiladas verdes were perfectly fiery with homemade salsa verde and the beans and rice were "old school" tasty. Chicken finger basket was the other order for our party which came out crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside with a side a hand cut fries. Service was on point today. Sometimes they can get a little "in the weeds" when everyone comes at once like on Sundays, but it's worth the wait and all those people clearly think so too. East Dallas neighborhood staple. This place has been around for over 30 years in some form. A few years ago, new management made lots of improvements in the decor. But some of it needs some refreshing now. Overall, it's a great neighborhood place with lots of regulars including me and my hubby.

There's nothing fancy about Dallas Diner. A small place with a few tables on the inside, patio tables outside, and several stools at the counter. The menu is classic diner fare with daily specials. In addition to the extensive regular menu there are menus for kids and seniors. My friend and I ordered off the senior menu. We both had eggs over easy and pancakes. She had bacon, I had the sausage patty. We both had coffee. Everything was prepared as ordered and tasty. And, to my surprise, filling. Service was cheerful, attentive, and helpful. Parking directly in front can be tight but there is adequate parking close by. A great place for breakfast. I'll try lunch another day.

Great home cooked breakfast with very low prices. Friendly staff. I love their chorizo taco, egg, chorizo, potato and cheese with their homemade salsa.

I won't be back. GOOD - eggs, sausage, hash browns AVERAGE - service, biscuit BAD - waitress charged me for switching out biscuit to corn tortilla after she said there would not be an additional charge. Was charged an additional 4% fee at checkout since I was using a debit card and not cash

Visited this establishment a little over 3 weeks ago and ordered the pork chop breakfast. About 3 hours later came down with a fever and began vomiting violently along with diarrhea. Was deathly sick for over a week with non stop diarrhea and vomiting. Almost 4 weeks later and still have diarrhea and just beginning to heal. Apparently the pork chop was rancid and they tried to conceal this fact with extra seasoning and by offering sausage gravy. Please be aware. I believe they knowingly served rancid pork because of the diabolical smirk on the cooks face as she asked, "did you enjoy?" In extremely broken English as I was leaving to pay. I have to assume that I am not the only person this has happened to. Worst experience ever. Will never be back.

Great diner with little fanfare but good food. Key is they listen to your order. If you ask for crisp bacon you get crisp bacon. if you ask for onions in your hash brown you get onions in your hash browns. so the attention to detail is what makes the place worth coming back. It's not hard to fry eggs, bacon and hash browns BUT so many places ignore the special requests. Nice to know i'll be getting exactly what i ordered. Oh and the wait staff is friendly and courteous. i think its a family affair. My new go-to place for weekend breakfast.

Once again, a good morning at The Dallas Diner. Really, what made our experience is the wait staff. Everyone is so kind. Bringing my mom in is a bit of a challenge and they were so patient with us. My coffee cup was NEVER empty and our water glasses were kept full. I ordered the migas and it was good! Other orders at our table; tacos, pork chop, pancakes, breakfast burrito... all good! This is just a good, solid place for hospitality, tasty diner food and bottomless coffee. We will be back.

Both items off the menu that was ordered by our table came with hash browns, they both were cold. Nothing we ordered was fresh. I would not recommend. i'm hopeful this is a bad day for them. our waitress was kind!

What a nice find. Leaving the Social Security office, my beautiful life companion stated she was hungry and asked if we could stop for a bite. I had no idea where to stop. There are no shortages of places to eat in the MetroMess. I was not familiar with the area, so I headed home. I soon realized the standard route would not take me anywhere near a restaurant. I made a quick right and headed to a different part of town. I was surprised by the turn I would have normally taken and ended up heading in the opposite direction. Within a block, the Dallas Diner appeared out of nowhere--of course, it was somewhere. Let's give these guys a shot; I told Tish. She agreed, and it was a done deal. The place was small. It was not crowded. It was a little late for breakfast and a little early for lunch. Our waitress made us be welcome. I liked the feel of the place. Knowing Spanish would be a good thing but not necessary. I think the menu is diverse. I selected a hash and egg breakfast. Tish ordered the chicken fried steak. The food came promptly. It was good, old fashion diner food. Tish said her CFS was not the best she'd ever eaten, but it was tasty and well worth the price. One way or the other, it was a thumbs up. I enjoyed my hash and eggs very much. Not every dining establishment serves hash for breakfast. I considered Dallas Diner to be a go-to for breakfast. We'll have to come back for a lunch and see how that is. The people next to us had a lunch plate, and it looked delicious. I bet their lunches are equally as good as their breakfast. I say, give them a shot. I think you'll like the place.

Staff was very sweet and attended us timely and with care. Food was good and pancakes reminded me of a home cooked breakfast. Quaint and not too big and a good vibe overall for a diner. I would recommend

Busy place small area food is good service can be kind of slow if crowded. Wait staff very nice. Not as expensive as other restaurants.

If you want to feel like you're at a family home- then stop by Dallas Diner! They'll treat you just like family with some great service. The food comes out quickly and very delicious. It is smaller on the inside- but they have great outdoor seating areas as well.

All the food is great, with a down home Mexican flare to many favorites dishes for breakfast and lunch. The coffee is always delicious, and in the summer months friends and I will sit outside on wooden benches in the covered patio.

Big serving of good breakfast food, with nice crisp-- not floppy, thank god-- bacon strips. Decent coffee's a big deal to me, & theirs satisfied. The lady figured out the best deal for me when my eyes were bigger than my stomach.... I wanted everything-- eggs /cheese, bacon, grits, and biscuits with gravy, haha. She saved me some money & was super kind. A nice little diner that has history.

Great breakfast at great prices. Donuts are the ole Dunkin Donuts as they were when that place was actually a Dunkin Donuts shop. Friendly manager. Good service.

Was up way to early for work and not being from the DFW area I found this diner on Yelp. The is a small diner with tables inside and some on a covered patio. They also have 10+ stools if you want to sit at the counter. The place has a old school being at home feel. The staff is friendly & attentive and your coffee will be refilled often. The food was fresh and the eggs were cooked just the way they were ordered. The diner is clean and they also have a bakery for pastries. Recommend this diner for sure.

Maybe it's only a 5 star if you've been going there for 17 years and you've had the same super kind and friendly service from the wait staff who have watched your kids grow through the years and always ask about them. But it's more than that- I've only been going back all this time for straight up, better than the simple ingredients should comprise, delicious breakfasts. And your mug is endlessly refilled with good ole drip coffee. A true treasure.

Happen to come into this establishment on a Sunday after our first choice had a 30 minute wait. Small place tucked away in between a bank and a shopping center. They offer patio seating and inside seating, came with the family of 4 and were seated immediately. Waitress came over took our drinks and shortly after for our food not too long. I went for the abuelitas special, which consist of a fried corn tortilla topped off with refried beans and with a fried egg and there ranchero sauce. Tex med twist on a Mexican dish iam familiar with. I have to say it was pretty good. Not oily, tortilla was warm and crisp. Ranchero sauce was good I tend to stay away from it but decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. Would and will go back sometime in future hood food, decent prices and great staff is what they offer so definitely come support.

A quaint dinner with a home style feel!! Yelp picked a good one this morning!! It's easy to find, parking in front, huge signage facing the road and a gorgeous patio inviting you in! The wrapped pastry behind the counter welcomes you in. The chalk menu board on the wall is only part of their offering so wait for the menu! On my last visit, I was at the counter and was enjoying the bee hive of activity behind it as food and beverages was carried to customers in the tight aisle. Orchestration at its finest! I had the Wagon Wheel special with eggs over easy, sausage, and pancakes. It was great taste and well made. The price was quite nice. I'll be back.

I'm so torn because we live so close and have been coming here so long. I liked it more when donuts were on the menu, but those days are long gone. The food, prices and service are all ok, and that's what you want in a diner. Usually it's quick and reliable, but some days service is so bad. But the people are kind - so don't have high expectations, and you'll like it.

I love Dallas Diner. On weekends, I'd go for a bike ride w/ wife and then visit Dallas Diner for brunch. I usually get the same breakfast plate and it is delicious. The meal certainly hits the spot. I highly recommend Dallas Diner. Check it out!

Old school dinner. Excellent service and the food met my expectations. Somewhat average, but good.

Really enjoyed my meal. Good diner food with a Latin flair! And, lower prices than most with our Taxana Southern Fare. For a Sunday lunch, I came with family. All 3 thought their meal was good and just the right-sized portions. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken, mom had the Chicken Fried Steak, and auntie had a Homemade Cheeseburger. My 2 fried chicken breasts were small but delish. And together made the perfect amount. The cream gravy covering them and the mashed potatoes was good, and just the right amount of pepper! And the grilled mixed veggies were also fantastic, with a hint of Latin flair. Mom's Chicken Fried Steak was also just right! Auntie's Cheeseburger was as fresh as advertised! The homemade bun was unexpectedly actually "homemade"! Everything was fresh-tasting and simple. The Staff: was extremely friendly and all shared in the experience. The only drawback was their use of English was difficult to understand -- especially thru their Covid masks. And that was the *only* drawback from our July Sunday Brunch.

The food was so-so. Expected a traditional diner but more of a Mexican diner. Service was just "okay".

This cozy little place in will remind you of a smaller,seemingly family owned Waffle House.They have a great,friendly staff that cook your food fresh to order! They also offer hot coffee,cinnamon rolls,donuts and a variety of other treats.I thoroughly enjoyed it!

We've been by this place a million times but never thought to try it until today when we were busy with errands and did not have time to drive far. We got there about 9am and tables were still available inside. It's a small place. Prices are very reasonable and the menu is pretty large. I went with the Western omelet ($5.99 I think) and I was not sorry. It's a three egg omelet with onion, green pepper, tomato, and ham. The ingredients tasted very fresh and it comes with a side of homemade salsa which put it over the top. Hash browns and toast come with it. A delicious breakfast and I would get it again for sure. The wife got the Big Man breakfast ($6.99) because she wanted to try a bunch of different things. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Hash browns, good; bacon, good. Biscuit, good. She did not like pancakes at all. Said they were too dense. I think this place is an undiscovered gem in East Dallas. It's not gourmet but the service is good and the food is way above average. We will return.

Looks like this was an old Dunkin' Donuts store. Interesting design but it works for this little restaurant. They seem to have a local following- quite a few people enjoying morning breakfast. Staff was efficient and food delicious. Friendly atmosphere. They kept my coffee mug full! First time here and would definitely return.

So, one has to want to go back in time when they come here. The prices are fair and the food is good. But it is not the flamboyant New Dallas experience that most have learned to expect. This converted Dunkin' Mexican leaning restaurant made my morning and I look forward to coming back.

I must have driven past this place a million times on my way to get food.. One day I decided to stop in and try it out.. Boy, was I amazed at how delicious the food was and even more surprised at how friendly the staff was. Everyone was friendly, fast, warm and inviting... the food was delicious, hot, and seasoned just right. I frequent this place now and have fallen in love with the staff and truly, that's the main reason why I go and the food is a boner. Win Win!! ;-)

Another bad lake highlands eatery. Foolishly ordered huevos rancheros. I assumed since the entire staff was Hispanic they might have a clue. No such luck. The potatoes were cold and old and by old I mean rancid. The beans were watery as was the excuse of a sauce. The eggs were ordered over-easy but were do undercooked that the whites were still liquid. No tostados were served under the eggs. This was akin to my dearly-departed and very white mother cooking "Mexican", no clue. The waitresses stood directly in front of me wondering why I only ate two bites and asked for my check. They were being derisive and either blatantly rude or assuming I didn't speak Spanish. I made sure to look them in the eye when I spoke "no me Gusto", signed the check and won't go back

I stopped by Dallas Diner for a quick bite to eat and I absolutely LOVED it. The waitress was sweet as could be and the food was delicious. Let me tell you, you CANNOT beat that homey/oldstyle feeling this place makes you feel. (Don't let the outside full you)....... it is a lovely place.

Not a big fan of diners , they are ok , but this one is very different and unique I really really like the space I will definitely come back once a week or once every two weeks :) Food is so delicious and everyine are super nice , I really like the man super clean . And the prices are amazing . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great little diner! Excellent service. Food was good. I had the chorizo omelet with beans, hash browns and corn tortillas. A little greasy but you should expect that with 3 eggs stuffed with chorizo. My wife had the french toast. She was happy. Coffee was good (typical diner coffee not some fancy Starbucks latte). I'd definitely go back.
