It's definitely a fun place to hang! Great drinks and wonderful atmosphere!

Super friendly staff, great music, friendly crowd, nice atmosphere. All-around great neighborhood sports bar. Definitely a top place to go!

I was just there on a Sunday afternoon , just arrived, visiting from France for two months. I came with my assistance dog (but forgot her proper harness and assistance dog tags back at my Airbnb). Nevertheless, the guy at the door, super welcoming, was super nice to let us both in. Of course my dog is trained to be well behaved and ultra clean at all times in public, and she does look after me - she’s a medical alert dog. Some of us have occasional health problems and this type of dog can save your life…It was great to be able to get in there with her, much less stressful for me, and everyone said hello, super welcome…. There was great atmosphere everywhere, but for some reason a dog just lights the place up even more… just magic… :) Great ambiance everywhere, super nice people and great bartender, lovely drinks

Another Ace gaybar in Dallas. What treat it was to go here. It's filled with sweet people who treated us like family from the get-go. Pool table, very clean and well decorated. Drinks were refreshing and inexpensive. The barkeep was particularly kind and handsome. At all costs go here!

Iggy gave us exceptional service, very kind. He was a true example of a scholar and a gentleman

Thank you Stu for rescuing us from the heat! Flew into town early for the flight attendant graduation at Southwest Airlines training facility and had several hours to kill. It was so hot! Stu let us crash without complaint, only ordering water and sprite ... Didn't even charge us for the drinks! This seems like a very friendly place with locals hanging out. Nice atmosphere and obviously amazing staff. Thank you for making our experience comfortable and fun!

Google
It was a nice vibe. Me my boyfriend and my friend and her husband went. Super welcoming, the bouncers were nice they were dancing with us as we came in the bar. Music was good, it was all the latest hip hop, r&b, and pop. They made the best drinks my fave sex on the beach. Great experience, will go again! I love how there was videos with every song.

Google
Strong drinks on the cheap. They have several spaces in a large building along with a nice, large covered patio. If you are visiting the various gay bars in Dallas than Woody's is a must-see. The bartenders were all friendly and accommodating. The strong cocktails make this a great place to start your evening.

Jessica L.

Yelp
Now don't get me wrong, the bartenders and the doorman were SUPER friendly but look at my picture - that glass of wine was $5.50. I feel like that's a bit crazy seeing that it's not even half full. When I asked for, "one more before I go", that glass was actually filled half way but nonetheless, I'm glad I stopped in - it was karaoke night and it created such a welcoming and fun atmosphere, everyone was having a great time!

Yelp
I've been here numerous times and usually during happy hour during the week and really like both Stewart as Harold they are both super nice people and always treat people well. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I've been there a couple of times at night and the staff isn't as friendly

Tawny A.

Yelp
The best bar in the gayborhood! Casual, fun, sports-oriented...everything I'm looking for. The staff could not be more friendly and welcoming. This is the spot!

Yelp
Woody's is a fun little spot on the Cedar Springs strip. Kind of one of those places that has a little something for everyone. First, whether you're looking to sit at a bar, sit on a busy patio and people watch, sit on a quiet patio with friends or chill at a table, Woody's has it all. There is a smallish patio facing Cedar Springs on the main level, booths and tables on the main level along with a 360 degree bar, a bar upstairs and a wrap around patio on the upper level with quiet seating out back. Staff-wise, this place is great. I've never gotten an ounce of attitude and genuinely enjoy their team. They're always friendly, professional and accommodating. The drinks are a pretty standard full-bar selection and they definitely don't skimp on the pours. Pricing is really about what you'd expect for a place like this on the strip. When we head down to Cedar Springs, Woody's tends to be high on my list when we decide where to stop for a drink.

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Great, chill and relaxing bar to have a drink at on the patio. Usually it's not as crowded as round up but still has a nice feel to it. The back patio is covered and perfect for a chill night out.

James D.

Yelp
Atmosphere is perfect for an enjoyable or chill bar vibe. It's clean, well managed and the staff is the best in the strip.

Daniel W.

Yelp
Great bar with good vibes, nice indoor and outdoor seating options as well as some friendly and welcoming staff.

Alesia A.

Yelp
Came here for drinks after work and it was really cool. I was able to get a seat at the bar because it wasn't too crowded. Real cool bar and staff. Made my Friday night pretty awesome

Jason J.

Yelp
I love this place but you always have to wait 15 mins in line at the bar for a drink. They need more help to handle there large volume. Still on my list.

Darrin C.

Yelp
By far the best staff, drinks and atmosphere in Oaklawn. The owner is a very giving man who supports our community in many ways. If you like sports or just music videos this bar is your place. Two patios also. Love me some WOODYS

Vic G.

Yelp
The only reason for 2 stars is pretty 'straight' forward. On their website - and given the flags in the bar, they are supposed to be a sports bar. But they don't have any channels other than basic cable. So if you are looking to catch one of the many games going on during the weekend or weeknights for an out of region team - it would be a no go. Won't happen. Whatever's playing on the regular channels will be on. Second star because it has 2 levels. A wrap around patio. And am sure other daily events are fun for locals. For out of towners? I don't know..... Actually should give 1 star period. Gonna change now. ** No beer on tap ** and hence because of that - Really not a sports bar.

Yelp
Jonah took care of my whole group, quickly and with a smile. Best service we've had as group EVER! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I love this place! Woody's is an awesome bar to watch football. I have been watching the Dallas Cowboys games here for years. It's great with your group of friends. Always a great time. Cheap drinks and great company. You could check out the boys on the first or second floors. Yes, Kiwon make the best drinks in my book. The bartenders here are so cute. Kiwon are so funny. We have so much fun with Matt while he's working. He also sings as well on Karaoke night. They have pool tables and it's great playing when your drunk but all in fun. They have big LCD Screens to watch the latest dance music and sports videos. I would recommend this bar if you are a sports fanatic. You always have an awesome time here with the friendly staff, cheap drinks and all the boys in town that come in to have a drink. Great for friends and visitors.

Jeremy W.

Yelp
Woody's is a great place to grab a drink with friends. We recently coordinated a happy hour there and the GM, Chris, was a huge help. They set aside an area for us, let us put a sign out on the balcony, and added our happy hour to their events page. Thanks again for being a great option on Cedar Springs. Will definitely continue to go back!

Austin L.

Yelp
Move the TV screen at the front. Woody's has, what, a dozen TV screens around the whole freakin' bar? I was there on a Tuesday when they were running show tune video singalong. I'm watching video at one of the monitors - the one in front of the DJ booth - when some a******* - one of the patrons - runs up to me. "You're right in the middle of the screen," he simply says. No "excuse me", no "hey bud", just...move. So I moved. In fact, I left. The other guy couldn't just turn his head and look at one of the other 11 screens? No, he just wanted me to move. I am fully aware that bars are no place to expect, well, manners. And most readers of this will hoot and holler in derision. Or amusement. And I don't give a f*ck. Woody's isn't a great place to begin with. It's not one of the stronger places on the drag. They don't have character like The Roundup. They don't have eye candy like TMC. And they don't have space like S4. But if they want to improve themselves a notch, they can remove the d*** TV mounted in front of the DJ booth so every patron - including the rude ones - can have an unimpeded view. (drops mic)

Yelp
Stopped in during the pride parade this past weekend. The entire staff was super friendly. We got drinks at both bars (upstairs and downstairs). The gentleman working in the middle downstairs was very efficient. He even remembered us from the night before even though it was pretty busy. There were two bartenders working at the upstairs bar: unfortunately we picked the wrong one to go too. One was practically running laps around the other and being social while doing it; ours just couldn't keep up. The patio was a great place to check out a portion of the parade. There were fans with misters set up to keep people comfortable while watching. Definitely an awesome place, and I will be back next time I am in Dallas.

Sam E.

Yelp
Gayborhood bar. It has a Sports bar feel with a gay bar twist. So lots of preppy jock types and I spotted a few admirers however on this one particular occasion they were playing a video throughout the whole bar of Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals and EVERYONE was singing. Yes, including me through the belly laugh that was inaudible from the music and singing. I am sure this is not typical, however I do believe that pretty much sums up the tone of this place for anyone needing to be with their people.

Tom C.

Yelp
Woody's is way cool. Never too crowded so its easy to get to the bar and make friends with the bartenders. Great staff and management; excellent indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking the comings and goings of the boyz on the strip.. Video bar and more casual sports bar space as well. In the heart of it all on Cedar Springs. Worth checking out. If you drop by, see which bar Kiwon is working. He is sexy, fun, and pours a mean drink.

Chris T.

Yelp
We normally love to go to this place. They have great drink specials on Tuesday's for ShowTunes. But tonight I had a really bad experience with the door person of all people. It was this skinny dude with a yellow shirt on, on October 12, 1:00 am. We were blown away by how rude he was to us and we didn't even say a word to him until we were leaving. I told him thank you for holding the door for us and he went off on us, telling us that we should find another place to be. I was absolutely blown away by that because we weren't being rude or out of line. He came out of nowhere and talked bs about us for no reason. I do not appreciate that and will make sure that the proper people hear about this terrible door person.

Rae C.

Yelp
So, the thing is that it really sucks to be a straight girl alone in this bar, waiting for your friend to show up. Because you have no social currency and will be left watching the very strange dance music videos (a woman shooting fire out of her vagina at an Obama look alike is something that actually happened on film, if you were curious). The karaoke here was sort of a sad affair - there were only a couple of people, so you got to hear the same sad singers over and over and over again. I like getting to sing fairly often when I do karaoke, but not every third song. Even I get tired of my own voice at that rate. It is a nice clean bar that has a nice clean ladies room (a rare find!), so that's a good thing. With no dancing and karaoke that doesn't come close the experience at the Round Up, there's not a whole lot of appeal for me. However, it seemed like the mens were having a great time and that's really what the bar is about. Also, randomly, there was a small buffet of food. And who doesn't like free food??

Kyle W.

Yelp
The interior of this bar feels a bit poorly designed and dull to me, but the staff is friendly and they do a great job at hosting a good variety of nightly events. My husband and I recently discovered Showtune Tuesday and have since returned weekly. We get our drinks from Dillon, who is always outgoing and inviting. Drinks range from average to pricy, but the pour is usually pretty generous from all of the staff. I also appreciate that Woody's offers private parking, as parking on the strip can be a hassle at times.

Chip C.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday night a few weeks ago and really liked the spot. The upstairs patio is really nice and the upstairs bar had almost no wait. The drinks were made with a generous pour and the dart board next to the bar was seeing alot of action. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and seemed to be having a good time. The TVs were all playing music videos-most of which I hadn't seen-and the volume was at just about the right level. All in all a pretty fun place to spend some time on your rounds-I will return.

Jen V.

Yelp
I joined a volleyball league that is primarily homosexual, the volleyball season kickoff was here where they were announcing teams. This place got packed! Since it was more of a specific event I can't speak to how busy it normally gets but I would suspect that it could draw a crowd easily. They had a good crowd, friendly bartenders, sports and music videos on the tvs and played dance music the entire time I was there. Downsides for me were is that I hadn't heard of most of the music (not all bad though) and that it's a gay bar and I am not gay. I personally enjoy the more relaxed chill environment with a mix of all people. I parked on the street but there was apparently a free lot right around the corner. This place has a balcony for nice night as well as two bars, one upstairs and one down.

Eric W.

Yelp
This a great bar just to hang out in and watch sports or showtunes. The bartenders are very cute and sweet. If your there in the afternoon look-for the handsome daddy, Steve , upstairs. The drinks are affordable and poured a little on the heavy side. My only complaint is where are the F'ing bar stools downstairs. Some of us would like to sit down after a long day at work. "I'm sure Mr Woody could afford to buy barstools !" This Bar is a great supporter of the softball scene. So drop in and check it out.

Greg C.

Yelp
Interesting attempt to go after two crowds with the same bar. Upstairs is the first attempt I know of for a gay "sports" bar on Cedar Springs. Big TV's and a big, burly bartender might make the next Cowboys game that much more interesting. Also, the upstairs is one of the few "smoke-free" environments in gay Dallas. Yee-haw, indeed. The downstairs is a video bar (think old "Revolver" in WeHo) showing the latest music clips as well as some comedy. You know the drill, lots of men nursing drinks staring numb at the video screens as they sneak glances at anything single walking by. At least the selection of videos is normally fresh and up-to-date. Pool tables, more cute bartenders and booths fill up the space nicely. The crowd is kinda-JR's but with a friendlier "let's all get drunk together" kind of vibe. On Tuesdays they have a KILLER show tunes sing-a-long hosted by the one and only, Miss Charity Case (Miss Gay America 2001). Come on down and let your diva out for the evening.

Connor M.

Yelp
This place is great! The bartender was really nice (flirty too (; ) the drinks are reasonably priced and there was a pretty good music selection. Overall if you're looking for a place to dance or drink and relax, this is a great place to go!

Liam W.

Yelp
This is a pretty cool bar. Upstairs is pretty cool. Open during the day, you have life sized Jenga and a few games. Downstairs, you have the essentials: Karoake, a pool table, and sports. The crowd is always pretty low-key, and people tend to be friendly, if not too friendly, like usual here in Dallas. The staff are always welcoming and they greet me with hugs. Dylan and Brian are top of the line. They're savvy enough to treat me like a human. They know better to not. They could potentially ramp up the sophistication a bit, but that's not why they're there. They're there for us dudes who just got done with a game, or who want to watch one; for us who like to belt out show tunes to the videos on Tuesdays; for us who like to get away from the monotonous cycle that is Cedar Springs. Drink with heart. We are men!

Travis X.

Yelp
a 2 story bar with a patio out the second floor as well as multiple bars. Downstairs was packed to the point where I had to push my way through to go upstairs, this isn't a bad thing, I like a packed bar more than a ghost town bar. They had a video bar upstairs which played music videos to various remixes of your typical gay bar artists which was mildly entertaining. The bars both upstairs and downstairs were easy to get to. When I drink at bars I only drink shots so I can't comment on the quality of mixed drinks etc. but the prices are on par with other bars. The enjoyed the patio on the second floor, I'm a fan of patios off of the street especially at a location like this. Makes for great people watching. The patrons were well behaved and didn't smell like ass [I'm looking at you Dallas Eagle!] I can see why people enjoy this place. There are very few bars that I would say I would go to again as I'm not a bar guy but this is definitely one of them.

Phillip N.

Yelp
Its cool here if you want to get a drink before you hit the club up. Note, I was probably the only straight guy in this place at the time, but I felt comfortable and the bartenders already know who is and isn't... so don't worry. Just have some drinks and have a great time with your friends. Great place with a great vibe.

Ty P.

Yelp
Where to begin? Harold. He's the bartender working downstairs during the afternoons Monday through Friday. He's either smoking on the patio with the other customers, or he's behind the bar pouring your drink when you walk in. He reads people very well and is always up for doing a shot. He's also really good about playing music on request if you want to bring in a CD. Then there's Showtunes Tuesday, the hallmark of drunken gay people having a good time. By popular demand, they play Glee from 7-8 then Showtunes starts at 9. Tristan, the DJ, takes requests as well as shots if you're feeling generous. Kiwon is the lead bartender at night and you can spot him twirling around like Wonder Woman or doing karaoke from behind the bar. He's got a witty attitude and can make anyone laugh. The owner, Matt Miller, is a great guy and sponsors several fundraisers and sports teams. I once mentioned to him that I would love it if he had Gatorade as a mixer-- he had it on tap the next day. There's lots of places you can go to drink, but if you want to enjoy it with people on both sides of the bar, Woody's is the place to be.

James M.

Yelp
Loved having all of our DIVA meetings here as well as awards shows after every season. Sports bar feel, great staff and TV' to watch great dance videos. Drag queens are always there hosting too!! Super fun time, for sure.

Matthew K.

Yelp
Dominique Lujan is the bartender to see here!!!!Hottest bartender in Dallas and he makes a mean ...strong...quick drink.....Woodys struck gold with this one!!He will keep the shots and great conversation coming!!!

Aaron E.

Yelp
Dude... seriously. Woody's pours their cocktails like you pour 'em at home (the way you pour 'em AFTER you've had a coupla rounds... ifyouknowwhat'msayin). You DEFINITELY get yer money's worth -- the bartenders are amazing. Tons of sports on tons of TVs - so even the butchest of the bunch could keep up with their March Madness brackets, but don't forget - there's also Showtune Karaoke on Tuesdays! Heyyyyy! Woody's is bear-y bear-y AWESOME :) (or maybe that was just thanks to my company!)

R M.

Yelp
I recently started coming here because a good friend of mine started working here. I have to say that I have found the only bar on the Strip that I actually enjoy. The crowds are always friends and the service is always top notch. None of that Dallitude you find in most the bars on Cedar Springs.

Ryan T.

Yelp
Just had a drink here on my visit to the Gayborhood in April, found the space rather inviting. Great spot to go people watching overlooking Cedar Springs via the upstairs deck. I would definitely come back for another visit!

Frances H.

Yelp
Among the various bars along Cedar Springs, this might be in top 3 favorite. The two story bar is less ostentatious than what the exterior would portray. A cozy bottom floor with a wrap around bar and a pool table make for a fun environment and great greeting area. The second floor offers a wonderful wrap around balcony with views of Uptown and Cedar Springs from all angles. Though, I had my drinks paid for, their Greyhound was strong and delicious - made with real grapefruit juice, not the crappy canned sugar water. I can't wait to return!

Steve W.

Yelp
I left Woody's 24 minutes ago without ever drinking a beer. The bartender ignoered me, then looked me in the eye & asked what I wanted, then ignorred me. Maybe if you're not a regular at this bar, you don't deserve service! Nuff said. Ain't going back.

Tevin S.

Yelp
The bartender that worked at their bar with the "lone star bar" was drunk as hell. He does not need to work here. Her was spilling drinks. Didn't understand people and falling over. He was wearing a cowboy hat and striped shirt. The other bar tender said "you should go to another bar" lol like 5 people walked away. Stay away.

Preston C.

Yelp
Visiting from Phoenix (enough said) the bartenders and the people were very nice here... It wasn't very packed for 10pm but it's a nice place and I enjoyed the upstairs patio with my margarita... The men here were very different, and I felt pretty feminine but I loved it... One of the bartenders was really nice and we talked for a bit, such a good guy. I hadn't been to the Dallas gay scene so I tried to visit every bar with an open mind and I enjoyed this one... :)

Gabriel S.

Yelp
Gay sports bar it is. Cool people, fun layout, and some cool music videos are always on tap. Call me a lush, but anyplace that the bartenders buy drinks for their guest out of kindness will make me a fan. Tuesday nights, showtune night! See you there. Or be square.

David G.

Yelp
Great Place to meet friends after Work Steve The Bartender is a GOD

M P.

Yelp
Came in for the first time and was immediately greeted by drunks yelling who were clearly over served while the bar staff continues serving them and laughing about it. Real professional. Secondly the drinks were crazy expensive versus other bars on the strip. $9.50 for a well vodka and redbull? No thanks. It gets two stars for a nice upper deck patio.

Paulymeatballs T.

Yelp
Was in town visiting and although I haven't' been to a lot of gay sports bars they tend to take the sports lightly. Now I'm not a crazy sports fanatic and it was a saturday night - but they have pretty good music and lots of sports on the tube - nice mix of people.

David M.

Yelp
Great gay sports bar... Super patios confront and back... Great happy hour... Older crowd on Fridays!!!

Joseph L.

Yelp
As far as it goes. Woody's my favorite in Dallas. Staff very friendly, always clean and plays good music and video's.

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Nice and clean.had an afternoon beer and chatted with the bartender about night life. Friendly place. Went back that Friday night and had a blast. Was a mixed crowd of people and cheap drinks until around midnight. Great place

Jacque C.

Yelp
Fun, fun, fun!!! Great service and cocktails!! LOVE Steve in the upstairs bar, and cutsy bartenders below!! I love having such a fun, non drama place on the strip!

Arnab M.

Yelp
Barhopping stop three was Woody's. It looked rather empty from the outside, but once we walked in, we noticed it extended back and there was a reasonable crowd but not one that was nearly as large as one would like. The bartender downstairs was HILARIOUS, he kept saying the funniest thinks and making ridiculous gestures, and to top it all, he made us really strong and good drinks. We went upstairs where they have a balcony as well, which is where we were headed but the bartender there caught us first and decided we needed shots. He made us three watermelon jollyrancher shots with Redbull, and let me tell you that these are not shots, there were drinks without ice, and we chugged them in one go and it was delishhh!!! Oh and it cost us only $14. CRAZY! Oh, they had pool tables too, which always sounds like fun!

jeroen k.

Yelp
i would love to boink steve the upstairs bartender. he is so hot and word is he does. heh. also makes cool drinks too. go upstairs and cruise him.

Devin O.

Yelp
Warm and friendly crowd. We attended the Pride Parade and took in a few bars and found Woody's to be among the best!
