"Dalrock Diner is a must. Between the fun retro-themed atmosphere and budget-friendly menus, this spot is great for families. Kids can enjoy a crispy, Texas-shaped waffle, while parents can order a hearty meal of chicken fried steak and hash browns. To top it off, add a creamy milkshake or a slice of their daily selection of pies and cakes." - Victoria Holmes

Definitely one of my favorite diners I've ever been to. The Dalrock skillet was an absolute treat! They don't oversalt their food either, which is a plus. I even bought a glass for the trip home! Would definitely eat here again next time I'm in Dallas!

I've been passing this place for years and not until a friend asked to meet there for breakfast that I went, and it was a fun visit 😊 Stepping into Dalrock Diner feels like coming home, with its inviting ambiance and the promise of a hearty meal awaiting you. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that this diner prides itself not only on the quality of its food but also on the excellence of its service. The staff greeted us with warm smiles, attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. The menu, brimming with classic diner favorites, made it hard to choose, but every dish we selected was satisfyingly delicious, perfectly cooked, and served with a homely touch that added to the overall comfort food experience. The portions at Dalrock Diner are generous, to say the least, ensuring that you leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face. My plate was a delightful presentation, from the good bacon, to the sausages and even to my the fluffy pancakes 😊Every bite was awesome! The exceptional service, coupled with the satisfying food, made our experience at Dalrock Diner not just a meal, but a memorable visit. I'll take my wife some time.

This diner is excellent! We discovered this place when deciding where to eat dinner. I'm so glad we did! The menu has many great options, and the atmosphere is a retro 1950s-era diner vibe. The food is delicious, and the owner is friendly and welcoming. I love the Mediterranean Chicken and Rowlett Breakfast, and my husband loves the gyro sandwich. The sides and chocolate pie are excellent. Service can be slow, so don't be in a hurry when you come. Highly recommend!

Visited for the 1st time on New Year’s Eve for breakfast. Both my wife and I had an excellent breakfast. The staff was very courteous and attentive. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and love the old-school diner, decor, as well as the old-school Coca-Cola small items at the tables. Both my wife and I enjoyed a hearty breakfast of two eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, and a delicious Belgian waffle in the shape of Texas Will definitely come back. You can also purchase their glasses with their logo on it.

This place was so good, I immediately reviewed upon leaving. Today was our first time here, and it was such a great experience from the moment we walked in. Came around 3:30pm on a Friday, and it wasn’t crowded at all. Seated immediately. Restaurant was impeccably clean, not too cold or too hot, and the music was 50s inspired. Felt very comfortable and cozy. The food was absolutely amazing and super well priced. We got to try fried corn on the cob for the first time which was excellent. Fried seafood combo was amazing, and the Mediterranean haddock was tender and flavorful. We will definitely be back again for some fresh food and a good classic diner experience.

Google
Googled for a new place to try. First time here. This place is a great little Retro Diner. I like the black and white checkered floor with the Red and Silver booths. Place seemed to be busy for 11 am, but I was seated quickly. Tomas was there pretty quick to get my beverage and food order. I ordered a 3 meat omelette with hash browns and biscuit and gravy plus toast. Very good stuffed omelet , hash browns are just hash browns it was pretty tasty. The coffee is very strong I liked that.

Google
The service was great! I came in and was greeted and quickly seated. The place is small so just keep that in mind. I had been there once before and gotten pancakes and wasn't a huge fan of those. This time I got the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and boy I tell you it was bomb! Straight 🔥🔥🔥 would definitely recommend. I also got my eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon, and hashbrowns all of which was delicious. I will definitely keep this place in my breakfast restaurant rotations!

Google
This place is a great little diner! Very charming and had some great food. My girlfriend got the meatloaf and I was very impressed with how good their gravy was. I got a 3 meat omelette with hash browns and a waffle. All 3 were just a hair overcooked but all and all it was pretty tasty and I look forward to coming back and trying the chicken and waffles!

Yelp
We have been here a few times now and I am confident in giving it a 5 star again! Service is amazing as it feels like a small Diner indeed! Chicken fried chicken, has browns, eggs and French toast are all phenomenal! Pancakes are sweet so beware in case you don't want to add fruit on the top. Fried Zucchini was so hot and delicious with what seemed to be homemade ranch! Every time I come here I think to myself "why don't I come here more?!" Gotta try it!

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped in at Dalrock Diner around 10:30 on a Monday morning. It was quite busy, but we were seated immediately. Our order was taken promptly, and our food was out in a decent amount of time. The food was okay, but nothing special. Once our food was out, it felt as if our server abandoned us. We had to ask twice for syrup. Our server didn't bring our ticket, so I just went up to the register without it. As I was checking out, our server was bringing me a drink refill. I could have used it while I was still eating. I doubt we'll be returning.

Yelp
Dalrock Diner was good...I don't know if I was wow'd by the food, but it was a solid meal. It is your typical breakfast diner atmosphere with the types of food you would expect at a diner. The service and food were good. If I was in the area again I would definitely stop in, but it is not a destination.

Yelp
I tried Dalrock Diner out yesterday for the first time with a friend. Overall, I was pretty pleased with my experience. While the inside is pretty crowded and probably smaller than your average diner, the wait on a busy Sunday morning was only 15 minutes. I ordered the Border Skillet with biscuits and enjoyed it. Great flavor, and very fresh. Our server was attentive and helpful. Certainly give this a try if you're in the area and looking for an inexpensive brunch!

Yelp
Everything about this place is excellent! Food, service, ambiance. Staff is awesome! Food is always hot and fresh. The biscuits and gravy will knock your socks off! So thankful we have this place in Rowlett. :-)

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Classic diner with delicious food. Great breakfast and dinner. Cute 50's decor and friendly waitstaff.

Darrell R.

Yelp
Good home cooking . Service was spit on. Kids friendly. Close to highway. Food came out fast and and fresh

Yelp
I saw this was a local spot in Rowlett and wanted to give it a try. We got there an hour before the closing of Dalrock Diner, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. We had ordered pancakes and hashbrowns, and the pancakes were not cooked all the way through. It was like eating cake batter in the middle when I first bit into the pancakes. We notified the waiter, and they exchanged the pancakes with waffles. The waffle was good. The employees were nice through our stay. The dinner looked like you walked into a 1960s setting. Overall the staff was friendly and nice.

James B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. We had the chorizo skillet and tortillas. Also two pancakes. 5 stars!! Nice 50's cafe!! Definitely will be back!

Sarah R.

Yelp
What an adorable place! And the food is EXCEPTIONAL! My friend and I had the turkey and dressing, and it was an especially interesting and extremely tasty version of this familiar meal. The green beans I chose to go with it were literally the best I've ever had. We also had the cinnamon French toast. All I can say is: "JUST DO IT!" It was amazing! Our waiter was so friendly and attentive, too. Will definitely be returning!

Anne C.

Yelp
Good local spot for comfort food. It's not fancy, but the diner aesthetic is charming and warm. The wait staff is always pleasant and the wait is never more than 15 mins. And their pie is tasty.

Tempest B.

Yelp
Great food and service, price is most reasonable! Ambience is very nice for the purpose of good home cooking.

Drake B.

Yelp
This is exactly the kind of place you come to when you want to feel home. From the sweet greens to the steak fingers, each bite was more flavorful than the next! What was fried wasn't greasy, the flavors are familiar and done right! Just the kind of meal that makes you smile! The price was solid, The establishment was clean as they come, and Thomas took incredible care of us! Lunch was Incredible can't wait to come back for breakfast!

Shelbi W.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. I tried the cinnamon roll French toast special and it did not disappoint! The grits were perfect and the bacon & ham were great as well. Everyone was very happy after eating here! Great portion sizes and reasonable prices! Will be returning soon!

Holly M.

Yelp
The food was great for breakfast, the service was fantastic and the ambiance was super fun! Felt like an old car shop.

T J.

Yelp
The food is always great. The wait staff is amazing and friendly. The place is small but looks like a real diner and clean! Nice plants inside and outside. They even have a garden growing for fresh herbs and peppers. I love this place.. My mouth is watering writing this review. Now I need to go have one of their amazing Greek salads with grilled shrimp!!!

D'Tawan P.

Yelp
I called in an order for a grill cheese sandwich and a coke. I requested my sandwich to be crispy with no pickle and light ham. Sandwich came out wet and soggy with a pickle on top of it. I pulled the waitress to the side and advised, look at my sandwich and explained. She takes the sandwich and come back with an attitude we can't give you a refund we can give you a store credit. No Ma'am give me my money back I need to eat now. She caused a big ruckus when all she had to do was refund me... How sad? I'm a Dr. In the city I'm in their everyday and you just mistreat me. I demand respect.... Folk didn't want to refund me on a failed service...

Yelp
This is the cutest diner I've ever been to! The food was delicious and made quickly. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Our family will be back soon.

Yelp
Loved this little place! Heard about it forever and finally decided to go. Cute little place and they make use of every bit of their space! The food was good! Great prices! The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive! We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I arrived at 9:04 and was immediately seated by the older hispanic woman in the front. I waited patiently for 5 minutes in my seat when an older white lady came in after smoking a cigarette during rush hour breakfast. The older hispanic woman told the older white lady that she's been seated and she didn't respond. The older hispanic lady went on to say you've been seated two more times and the older white lady screamed in the middle of the restaurant "I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME!" She decided to do the older hispanic woman's job instead out of anger. I continued to wait for 7 more minutes and the older white lady still didn't even acknowledge me. I decided to leave. She doesn't belong in the service industry -- she's a better fit for the frontman at a towing company.

Yelp
Me and my bf are suckers for classic diners and while we were in the Dallas area we came across Dalrock on Yelp. The atmosphere is decked out in vintage Coca Cola paraphernalia and checkerboard-esque floors. It definitely gave us the old school vibe we wanted to experience. The hostess and our server were extremely kind. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced. First off, can't go wrong with their coffee. Next we split the strawberry banana pancakes and the veggie skillet. The pancakes were so decadent and my bf (who's normally not a pancake fan) was impressed. As for the skillet, we added the gyro meat to it (based off what another yelper suggested) and it was the perfect blend of flavors. Highly recommend. Our friends got classic breakfast items (bacon, eggs, hash browns etc) and had no complaints. We all left with our bellies full and hearts happy. Definitely will be back when we're in the area

Gayla B.

Yelp
Definitely a real diner! The breakfast is great and the prices are low. I had the cinnamon roll French toast which melted in your mouth. It was amazing. All around, we were very happy.

Sue W.

Yelp
We come here quite often as we live down the street and although small in size their food is fantastic. I love that you can add Greek flair to any of your dishes. The veggie skillet with gyro meat added is FIRE. Only downside is the service can be lacking and unorganized at times but they are on point about coming around with coffee.

Brent H.

Yelp
I had the House omelet and chose the grits & gravy biscuits as the side options. Both were delicious. My wife had the Rowlette's favorite. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Yelp
I usually order breakfast when I eat there and it's top notch. Service has always been great as well! Highly recommend!

Samantha W.

Yelp
Good homey food with Greek inclusions. Staff is friendly and works well together. Love the retro atmosphere and while small is kept up really nice.

Marquita W.

Yelp
I like my salad. But I don't feel the most welcomed there. I've actually had a salad from there a few times. Only dined in once though.

Hayley P.

Yelp
We just came here for the first time and we had such a great experience! The food was so yummy, I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and my husband ordered the jalapeño skillet. All the food and sides were delicious. Our waiter was awesome and he was very knowledgeable of the menu. We will come back often, we loved it here and had the best time and great food!

Amy S.

Yelp
We go to Dalrock Diner all the time. Love the place. But today was terrible. The staff was not friendly, no 'hello, welcome...' 'how was your meal'. My daughter immediately noticed the how they entire place seemed unhappy and stressed. The crew we used to see wasn't there either. Makes me wonder if the place has new owners? Smaller portions than usual. The Belgian Waffle is one of my favorites, today it was terrible. Like they made it with pancake batter... not how it usually is made. I usually recommend this place, not anymore.

Dianne R.

Yelp
The cutest little cafe/diner. The food was excellent. I ordered the Hamburger Steak, mashed potatoes and pinto beans. It was delicious. My husband said the same thing about his Chicken Fried Steak. The service was absolutely the best. So,so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and we will go back.

Yelp
Thursday, Sep 9, 2021. Been a while since eating here. I always see the parking lot full, so I know they are doing good. I go find other places to help out. So, suddenly a Greek Salad sounded good, I said Dalrock Diner! Really? Yes, Really, owned by a Greek family. We got over there quickly, and it was 50% full at 3:30 PM. Staff had been eating their meal, but cleared a table we wanted. I spotted the Thursday Special $10.99 Half a Greek Chicken + Greek Salad, why not? My partner in crime went Greek Salad + grilled shrimp a la carte. Wow, 50's be-bop songs I had not heard in a while. The retro decor, with some Southern home touches sets the mood. The baked Greek chicken was lemon & herb rubbed, oven-roasted golden. It came with roasted herbed thick-sliced potatoes. I jumped on it like a termite on a wooden porch! Juice was dripping on each bite. That Greek Salad was staring at me, getting jealous. You're next, I said. I got a refill on my iced tea. This was a generous serving, I was getting full, but could not stop. And this is why the parking lot around Dalrock Diner is always full. Because you get full of good food here! The desserts display was looking at me now. A giant carrot cake was in there, promising me a good time. Next time, you are mine! Next Thursday? 3:30 PM when there's an open parking space. They serve breakfast here that is great, also.

Gary W.

Yelp
Food is great, great waitstaff. Only issue I have is it really isn't suitable for wheelchair ( electric or manual. )

C S.

Yelp
Tried for the first time yesterday and it won't be the last! We were greeted & seated towards the back of the "nostalgic" small diner. First, placed drink ordered drinks and after looking at the menu, decided on chicken fried steak fingers with mashed potato & grilled veggies and the Greek dinner. Both were very tasty! Because of the size, it might be best to go on an off hour to avoid a wait. (Try between breakfast & lunchtime or an early dinner.)

Andy K.

Yelp
Elvis would love the decor. My family and I loved the food. You will too unless you are a grump.

Amber M.

Yelp
This place is now on my "regular" places to go. The menu is large but not too big that they do things wrong. I had the skillet and it was more than enough for 2 people! The prices were great and the service was impeccable. The whole atmosphere is just so warm and friendly.

Neil B.

Yelp
Great food, great staff, great environment! One of our favorite places for breakfast!

Beverly D.

Yelp
Small restaurant but great service and excellent cook at this establishment. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the future.

Sherry S.

Yelp
Great food & good service! The Greek omelette was a very good low carb choice, and salad with breakfast seemed odd but was yummy.

Cristi E.

Yelp
Order to go: hubby and I both ordered the chicken fried steak fingers. They are so good. The crust is flavorful and does not crumble off even with this being a to-go order. The white gravy is delicious. Their rolls are homemade and so yummy dipped in their gravy. We have ordered these several times and always love them but wanted to spread the word.

Nancy J.

Yelp
The Food was great!! I had a catfish/shrimp plate and it was a large portion of catfish and very nice large shrimp perfectly cooked! We Enjoyed the experience. Good prices too. Will totally go back when I'm in that area.

Elise E.

Yelp
We LOVE Dalrock Diner! My goal is to try everything on their menu. It'll take awhile because there is so much to choose from. Love the turkey and dressing special! The TX waffle is one of my daughters favorite. Breakfast served all day! And can't go wrong with their salad if you're not too hungry. There is definitely something for everyone! Everyone is so friendly and attentive. Even when it's standing room only waiting for an available table, which is pretty much all the time.

Quentin W.

Yelp
Great place. The only drawback is it's size. There are not many seats during the peak hours.

John S.

Yelp
good home cooking. service is mid. ambiance is old school which i enjoy when visiting a diner.

Muang P.

Yelp
Old school diner with all the nostalgic Coca-Cola memorabilia and music to match. Super cozy place and super friendly staff. Coffee came out piping hot and you just can't go wrong with a waffle in the shape of Texas. It was fluffy, warm, buttery, and delicious. I got one of the specials, the jalapeño, sausage, and egg skillet. I didn't taste any jalapeños in there but it was still a decent scramble. Worth a stop if you're in the area. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Lohgan S.

Yelp
Very nice diner! I love, love, LOVE the fried pickles here! So glad that I found this place. It's pretty small however the flow is consistent and the service is amazing.

Tapestry S.

Yelp
Food is good and the service is great. Their downside is the parking lot is very limited and the booths are on the small side.

Kris C.

Yelp
Good food, good service, gets busy in peak times, 50's-60's themed. Good breakfast and lunch.

Chris M.

Yelp
Hokey down to earth comfort diner food. Enjoyable, gets packed easy. If you're in Rowlett, worth giving it a try.

Liam B.

Yelp
The service was amazing food was delicious very clean I would recommend for a birthday breakfast
