Had a great chicken fried steak. Wasn't heavily breaded. Was more steak. Hush puppies were good too. Got the Apple pie and crushed... definitely bring your friends from the south here!

Google
I gave it a 2-star rating because this is not a place I feel compelled to return to. I ordered the chicken fried steak (with red eye gravy and greens) and the hora de verano cocktail (mezcal, spiced syrup and grapefruit oil.) The cocktail tasted "synthetic". The steak was not pounded down and came served rare/medium-rare with no warning. I prefer my steaks medium-rare, but didn't think I needed to specify since generally a true country fried steak is cooked well and smothered in white gravy. This is "fusion" southern, but I can't tell if it's southeast or southwest. The cornbread literally had no flavor. Where's the salt? I'm from Virginia, so I guess I'm a BBQ snob, but the beef brisket was meh at best. The mac n cheese was OK. All that said though! The service was great. Our waitress answered all of our questions honestly and the food came fairly quickly. Worth checking out, but don't come here expecting real southern or country food.

Google
Really, I'm a fan of their tapped cocktails. For 8 dollars you get your choice of 4 different cocktails, all very delicious! The salads and potato chips are great! Haven't had any other food - yet :) Looking forward to my next visit for cocktails on the patio. Maybe will try some food next time. Only two complaints: Wish they had better parking and a better view from their patio!

Katie

Google
Amazing whiskey collection and cocktails! The food selection and patio area are perfect for a casual dinner out date night. Sharing plates available with customizable meat and side options which rotate throughout the week.

I've always operated under the maxim of "when you go to a restaurant for the first time, always order the food they are best known for. If that's good then come back another time and order something deeper down on the menu." My wife and I disobeyed that rule last night but it couldn't have led to better results. We ordered 4 starters and a side (none of which were recommended by the server) and everything was delicious. The real surprise was the garden plate of pickled veggies. Every element was extremely flavorful and beautifully arranged. High quality food, no pretence ambiance, and great drinks made it a great night!

Google
Good whiskey and bourbon selection, but they did not have several top-shelf items listed on their menu, including Pappy. It sounded like they hadn't had them available for some time and did not know when they would be getting more. Limited flights available, unfortunately - only a couple pre-selected options. Everything else is limited to 1oz or 2oz pours. Love the idea of a bourbon bar, just needs a couple touches to make it great.

Google
Got our drinks right away but then had to wait 30 minutes to order food. Was really excited because the menu looked great but unfortunately the food wasn't very good. We tried the Bison & Elk Meatloaf- tasted average and forgettable. The chicken fried steak was not flatted like usual making the steak/ batter ratio not work in its favor and it was served with bland greens. The cream corn didn't seem to have any cream in it- was watery and gross. I could only eat 1 bite. The apple smoked roast chicken was moist and has good flavor but of everything we ordered the only thing I would bother ordering again is the mac & cheese.

Google
Most everything was great - food, beer, whiskey cocktails, even the ambiance. This is a really cool place. It feels like a brewery, but obviously operates as a restaurant with super good food!! Unfortunately, I had to take a star off because our waiter -while great- was given too large of a section and was really busy, and because of this we had to flag him down to order and he wasn’t able to check in so we just kind of sat around for big chunks of time.

Yelp
Dario in Minneapolis served up a truly exceptional dining experience! From the start, every dish delivered a unique blend of flavors that felt both innovative and comforting. We began with the hiramasa crudo, which was delicate and fresh, with flavors like yuzu and gooseberry that beautifully highlighted the fish without overpowering it. Next came a fennel and apple salad with a maple crumble - a perfect balance of crisp, tangy, and subtly sweet that felt refreshing and seasonal. Moving on to the pasta courses, the doppio pasta was a standout. Filled with sunchoke, ricotta, and topped with honey, hazelnuts, and rosemary, it had an incredible depth of flavor, with the honey adding a slight sweetness that played so well with the nuttiness of the hazelnuts. The textures in each bite were satisfying and delightful. Finally, the short rib and polenta agnolotti was rich and hearty, with the polenta adding a creamy, earthy note that paired perfectly with the tender short rib filling. The cocktails complemented everything wonderfully, with balanced flavors that didn't overshadow the food but elevated the entire experience. From start to finish, Dario left an impression of thoughtful, beautifully executed dishes. If you're looking for a memorable meal in Minneapolis, Dario is a place you won't want to miss!

Yelp
Knowing that there's a relatively new Italian restaurant, I had to make an effort to visit, and overall I thought that the establishment had pretty solid tasty food that would allow me to recommend it to others. The portion sizes were a bit small, though, especially for the price. Some dishes were good while others were more on the mediocre side. To start, I was excited about the king crab spaghetti, but I thought that it was only okay, mostly because the crab meat flavor did not mesh with the saffron chili sauce that provided the spaghetti with flavor. The pasta was al dente which was great. I enjoyed all the other pasta, from the rigatoni to the agnolotti. Specifically, the rigatoni definitely had a spicy flavor that contained fennel and basil, as I could taste them within the spiciness. The agnolotti was very well-made with a good amount of short rib and polenta in it, and the sauce ingredients, red wine jus and parmesan crema, were very fitting. I packed the cappellacci for my spouse to go, and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The caramel apple budino was a good dessert with various types of texture and various kinds of sweetness, since it had cookie, apple, and caramel. I wouldn't call it the highlight of my meal or of the establishment, but it was solid and I would recommend it. Overall, this is a great place for dates as the atmosphere allowed it, and it wasn't a noisy environment. Prices could accumulate very fast if one orders a lot of food, so to me, this is a "once a while" type of establishment to visit.

Yelp
Visited 9/26/24. Made a reservation multiple weeks in advance for Dario and while it wasn't too crazy busy the night that we were there, this is what I would still recommend. Prepare in advance to have to look for parking otherwise they do have valet as a sort of "last resort." First off, shout out to the sweetest staff member Shawna who consistently made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. She had amazing recommendations and I think that's a big part of why we had the great experience that we did. The whole place is adorable and decked out with pink tones and cute booths. They had some nice patio seating available while the weather was nice as well. To start, the three of us ordered the Gardener's break drink. Fragrant and delicious, I'm always skeptical of paying more than $15 for a cocktail but this one was more than worth it. We were encouraged to share which is a good call for this restaurant especially with the pastas because they are richer in flavor. We got: local gem lettuces, flowering cauliflower, doppio, mushroom tortellini, and a caramel apple budino for dessert. Reviews of these below. My biggest qualm with the place would likely be price point based on portion sizes however everything was so solid that it wouldn't keep me from visiting on another occasion. Faves: -Gardener's break drink. A must get if you like gin -Doppio. Delicious pasta that is flavorful and really fun to eat. The crunchy rosemary on top feels intentional and adds to depth of flavor -Local Gem Lettuces. Has to be a really good salad/lettuce for it to be one of my favorite things. The cacio e Pepe vinaigrette and the puffed farro as an additional garnish kept me reaching for more. Give me all the cheese! Solid picks: -Tortellini. Very flavorful with a lovely sauce and mushroom filling. If between this and Doppio I would pick Doppio but this was still lovely. -Flowering Cauliflower. This seems to be having a moment right now as I've seen it pop up on a few different menus. Good flavor, especially the sauce -Caramel apple budino. If you love a pudding type dessert wow this is the one for you. Rich and packed with awesome different textures and flavors.

Yelp
First dinner out since having our baby and Dairo has been on our list! Had reservations and was still very busy and were seated 10 minutes after our reservation time. We started with chopped salad the dressing we found acidic and lettuce cheap least favorite of our meals 2/5. The spicy rigatoni had a great kick and great flavor 4/5. The fusilli burrata paired perfectly with the pasta. Meatballs found to be dry, liked pepperoni topping. 4/5 would def come back

Yelp
This restaurant was fantastic. The ambiance inside was cute and hip. Our waitress was absolutely fabulous and super accommodating to our vegetarian at the table. She helped us pick out a bottle of champagne and wine that were 10/10. We had a variety of warm apps, and our favorite was the Fall Vegetable Salad with an amazing brown butter fondue. Our favorite pastas were the Doppio and Spicy Rigatoni. Would recommend this place for a nice date night.

Yelp
Went back after them having been open for awhile longer and holy cow this place has figured it out and the pasta is stupid good. Had a reservation and got seated with service right away! We split four different pasta dishes and loved them all. My personal favorite was the Doppio ravioli which has the perfect blend of flavors, you want to lick the plate!! I also love the short rib ravioli if you want something heartier and rich. The burrata fusilli was amazing - acidic tomato sauce with yummy burrata spread throughout. Love how the fusilli is more like a trofie noodle and is perfectly al dente. The corn and mushroom ravioli was our least favorite but still very very good. Highly recommend a stop to this cute and delicious spot!

Yelp
My first sampling of Dario was at the Children's Hospital WineFest. Dario had samplings of some of their menu items, including the Beef Short Rib & Polenta Agnolotti. It was the bomb! I made it back last week and sat at the bar (a great way to do a walk-in for two people) and tried it again. Still-amazing! It's definitely a must-try dish of theirs. We also had the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka, which was also great. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Best pasta we've had in the Twin Cities! Random location, it's really tucked out of sight, but worth the trip! We tried the sun-choke ravioli and have never seen, or tasted, anything like it. I could have eaten the whole plate of brown butter broccolini! It was really fun to sit at the bar and be part of all the action!

Yelp
Great new restaurant. They did a fantastic job with the creative decor and menu items. Me and a friend came here on a Saturday night w/o a reservation. We got seated at the bar immediately. 10/10 service from the bartender. We will be returning

Yelp
Stopped into Dario in the North Loop area of Minneapolis on a Saturday, and the experience was amazing! The staff was super friendly, the service was great, and the R&B vibes playing in the background really set the mood. For drinks, I had the Pinot Noir rosé, which was refreshing, and for my entrée, I tried the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka. The dish was delicious! While this spot can be a bit on the pricey side, the food, drinks, and overall atmosphere made it worth it, and I will definitely be back for the vibes. Parking can be a bit challenging, though, since it's a paid lot and the area gets very busy, especially during sporting events or concerts. But all in all, this spot is a great find!

Yelp
Dario is a wonderful gem of a restaurant in the North Loop area of Minneapolis. The pink retro atmosphere is fun yet classy, perfect for a birthday or special event . My husband and I came here for an early dinner before watching a show at the Guthrie theater. Service was spot-on and our dishes were remarkable! We started with the beef tartare and asparagus side which were surprisingly unique due to the rice crispies on top of the tartare and ham and Parmesan complementing the asparagus so well. Then came my Doppio pasta entree which melted in my mouth with the honey and artichoke flavors. The brick chicken was also moist and flavorful. Both my husband and I were blown away by this restaurant and will definitely be back again soon!

Yelp
Food and drinks here are good! We got the grilled zucchini, fusilli, and agnolotti. By the time the food got to us, two of the dishes weren't warm anymore. The fusilli was my favorite. Delicious and simple flavors - and homemade pasta is always a plus! Drinks were also great! The gardener's break was the standout. Ambiance was a vibe - very light, airy, and trendy. Super loud though. Service was a little slow. It took upwards of 10 minutes to get drinks.

Yelp
Food was yummy, dessert was the best, but slow service. It might've been because we were sat at the bar? But it took us a while to order. Or to get the dessert menu. The food itself was delicious. I got the paccheri which was wonderful. $28 for the dish, but high quality ingredients. The dessert was the best. I would come back just for the caramel apple budino. Reservations are almost required with how busy it gets. And they fill up quick! Cute vibes and a great place to get dressed up. They do not validate parking, despite their Instagram explaining to park at Ramp C :/ we ended up paying $20 for parking when we could've done valet for $15. When I asked if they validate (since I followed the parking instructions), the hosts didn't know what I was talking about. A little disappointed with that experience. To be honest, I was expecting more. I'd maybe give it a second chance later. Check it out for yourself!

Yelp
Dario has been on my list of restaurants to check out for months! I was finally able to see what all the hype was about. First impressions: this place is DREAMY! It gave me classy Barbie vibes with the perfect lighting. I was completely swoon over the ambiance. I'd recommend reservations because this place was BUSY! The parking situation is less than ideal and I'd recommend giving yourself ample time to find street parking and expect to walk over. They do offer valet as an option. Service: the hostess was lovely. Friendly, warm, and patient. However, our server once we weee seated was a much different experience. She seemed.... Uncomfortable? Rarely spoke, rarely checked in, and we felt rushed to order and make decisions without having enough time to check the menu. I was not very pleased. Food: we started with a salad, which was a take on a Caesar and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the puffed farro, which was a twist on traditional croutons. It was dressed with the right amount of dressings and the lettuce was fresh. Not sure if I believe it's worth $18 for a few pieces of dressed bibb lettuce. The ravioli was BY FAR the tastiest thing we ordered all night. The sauce was good enough to drink and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It had exceptional flavor and I loved everything about it. EXCEPT, this dish is was not enough to feed a small child. $38 for 6 ravioli is kind of wild. The zucchini was inedible (due to a sour taste) and the chicken was very underwhelming. Overall review: Dario is beautiful. I think I like this place just for the ambiance, but I'm not sure it's enough to have me running back for more.

Yelp
4.5/5 Very impressed with Dario. Not only is the restaurant so cute, but the staff is exceptional and the food is certainly worth sharing. We didn't have a reservation and were able to be sat right away. Our server was knowledgeable and helped up pick drinks and food. We ordered the beef tartare for our raw course. It's the best any of us have ever had. This will be a must order anytime I visit Dario. The flowering cauliflower was good, and paired well with the beef tartare. I wouldn't necessarily have to order this dish again. I'd want to try other vegetable dishes instead. For pasta we ordered the wild mushroom and fonduta tortellini. It was the perfect balance of sweet corn and truffle. And the spicy rigatoni allá vodka. It had a good kick but wasn't over powering. For our meat course we had the special, pepper crusted filet. It cut like butter We rounded out the meal with caramel apple budino (basically fall in a cup). We spend 3+ hours eating and catching up and never felt pressured to leave. At the very end I was slightly full but overall thought it was a good amount of food for three people. .5 stars off for how loud it got in the restaurant. It was hard to hear the people at your own table. Note this is metered parking $3/hour or valet parking $15 available outside the restaurant.

Yelp
We visited Dario on a Saturday night for date night and overall had a good experience. Although we didn't make a reservation, we were seated right away -- awesome! The restaurant is open, light, very aesthetic, and has indoor seating, bar seating, and an outdoor patio. The good: The food is 10/10! The 3 pasta dishes we ordered were flavorful and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The local gem lettuce was crispy and had just the right amount of salad dressing on it. The not-so-great: When we were seated, it took about 5-8 minutes for our waitress to greet us. We had plenty of time to look over the menu so we knew what we wanted within about 2 minutes. We were thirsty so we wished someone greeted us to get our drink order a little sooner. The restaurant is in an apartment or condo complex so the restroom is shared with the building and requires a code to get in. Not ideal that there's not a restroom right in the restaurant. Overall, we had a good experience at Dario and we'll likely be back for more delicious food.

Yelp
I had a mixed experience here. The pasta (I got the spicy rigatoni) was very tasty, but outside of that the experience could have been better. We sat at the bar and the service was quick as the people behind the bar were bouncing around a lot. We asked for some food recommendations and they helped us choose our entrees. We also ordered zucchini as an app, which was fine but really didn't seem like it had much flavor to it. A little disappointing. As I mentioned above, the pasta was really good and I have no regrets with my choice there. Not very spicy, but good flavor nonetheless. Tasted fresh. When it came around to dessert, the menu did not provide much detail as to what each item was. I ordered the "pineapple and passionfruit", unsure what to expect. My assumption was some kind of warm fruit display on a plate with some garnishing. Instead, I was served gelato. Don't get me wrong, I like gelato. But I like gelato better when I want gelato and intentionally ordered gelato. Here it was just a bit unexpected. Should I have clarified? Sure. But the menu should more clearly describe the dish. It simply said "coconut, macadamia nut" as the description for this dish leaving it very ambiguous. Confusing the customer does no good for anyone. Finally, sitting at the bar we had the pleasure of watching the bartender make drinks. Meaning, we also had the displeasure of watching them repeatedly use their bare hands to grab ice from the chest and place into customer drinks. On one occasion, a block of ice even fell onto the spillover mat on the bar and they picked it up and placed it into the glass for a customer's drink. Just gross, and made me glad I ordered wine. Maybe next time I'll just get some pasta to go from here. That seems to be the best choice here as the overall experience just didn't match the prices.

Yelp
Saw a list that had the top restaurants in the twin cities and this was the only one I hadn't been to so we decided to check it out for the wife's birthday with a couple of friends. Reservation was not easy to get but we managed to get in on her birthday which happened to be a Saturday. The place is not terribly easy to find as you have to turn into an ally and its kind of hard to find parking nearby unless you valet. We were seated right away and the place was busy. Lively place with lots of natural light and a very cheerful atmosphere. Loud, but cheerful. Our server came over and asked us for drinks. She was helpful to point out and help with picking the drinks. We ordered a few non alcoholic beverages and a cocktail. On tot he food, we ordered the beef tartare for appetizer. We decided to do it family style so we could try a few different things. We ordered the crunchy vegetable salad and potatoes as well. For the pasta, we ordered the Doppio, the Potato Gnocchi, Beef Short Rid & Polenta Agnolotti and the Doppio. Also ordered the Halibut and the Chicken to share. The server really helped in figuring out what to get for us and was forthcoming with recommendations. The beef tartare was good and fresh. Good mix of salty and the lettuce really added that extra crunch. We did ask for extra lettuce since the order came with four and two of them were very small. The potatoes were very unique with the cheese almost hiding the potatoes. The tabasco was sprinkled on top and in powder form which I don't believe I have seen before. The salad was very fresh and tasty and had good flavor and crunch. Now to the pastas, the stars of the show. They were all very good and fresh, you could tell they were made in house. The doppio was the star with the sunchoke and ricotta filling. A ting of sweetness with the savory. The potato gnocchi was soft and pillowy with the subtle pesto and the crunchy asparagus. The short rib agnolotti was also very good though not everyone's favorite. I really enjoyed it because of the smoky taste of the meat filling which is the exact reason the others didn't like it as much. Overall we enjoyed the pastas and I would come back to try the others. The weakest thing for us was the chicken. It was highly recommended by the server and we wanted to try it. It was cooked very well and decent serving size, just not a lot of flavor. The halibut on the other hand has good flavor with subtlety and was cooked to perfection. I would do that again. Overall, a good dining experience and I am glad we were able to try it. Is it in the top 5 restaurants in the cities, I am not sure. Is it worth trying, absolutely.

Yelp
I was a little hesitant of this restaurant due to the mixed reviews but I'm pleased to say my hesitance was unfounded and I really enjoyed my meal! I think I found my favorite pasta restaurant in the Twin Cities, and I don't say that lightly. I met up with a friend for a late dinner on a weekday, and it was fairly busy but I still found a spot in the parking lot next to the restaurant. They have their own system where they can text you when the parking is about to expire, which was nice! The only downside was it was a bit pricey, but expected for the area - $6 to park for 2 hours. Whenever my friend and I meet up, we have to try multiple items. We got the potatoes as an appetizer, Spicy Rigatoni and Doppio as entrees, and the caramel apple budino for dessert. Everything was just an absolute flavor explosion in my mouth. The potatoes were kind of like a hash brown with cream sauce on top. The rigatoni was actually spicy which I loved. And the Doppio was just phenomenal. Tasted a bit like browned butter as a sauce and had hints of rosemary and I absolutely loved the filling. Dessert with the caramel apple budino was just phenomenal. Rich, creamy, and so delicious. Lots of apple pieces at the bottom. The service was relatively quick as well and he helped us get out on time before our parking expired. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant - the watermelon vibes with the pink and green throughout the restaurant was just too picture perfect and reminiscent of an old diner. The only downside I thought of was it was very loud despite it being in the evening, past 8pm. The seats are pretty close together so I think that didn't help. I'm sure the table next to us heard our whole conversation. Haha! It was also very expensive with the addition of a service charge + tip. But, it was a great experience overall and I would definitely come again for a date night !

Yelp
We did my birthday dinner here and I loved it. We were seated on the patio on a perfect summer night. It was much quieter than inside and allowed for conversation. They encourage you to share everything (which is my fav) so we started with the cucumbers, marinated, served cold. They were crispy, fresh and flavorful. Next was cauliflower served hot. Again crispy, fresh. Nice starting dishes. The two entrees we shared were halibut and fusilli pasta. Both were excellent. Pasta is freshly made and had a nice flavor and texture. Finally, I chose the Carmel Apple dessert it was so good. They threw in some fruit sorbet as well so we left feeling comfortably full. Service was great. Valet parking made it easy. Such a great experience.

Yelp
The atmosphere is so fun! Pink is my favorite color and I love how they add that color into their restaurant. The food was also amazing! It was pricey and the portions were on the small side, but it was tasty! I did not love the starters we ordered. It was good, but not mind blowing. We ordered: Hiramasa Crudo: 7/10 Potatoes: 7/10 French white asparagus: 7/10 Spicy Rigatoni: 10/10 - this was hands down one of the best I've had! Doppio: 10/10 - SO creamy and such a unique flavor Spaghetti alla Nerano: 8/10 Paccheri: 7/10

Yelp
Dario is a find!! Who knew this little corner of the North Loop even existed?? It is worth searching for. Enjoyed a great dinner with my wife and daughter. Beautiful space with light colored woods and many windows. Unfortunately, it was a humid and hot day outside and a hot and humid dinner inside. The AC wasn't able to cool the dining room adequately and sweating at the table was a real bummer. We ordered a nice bottle of Nebbiolo and some shareables. We had the cold cucumbers in a peanut sauce and the hot charred pea pods. The cucumbers were fantastic! The sauce was a revelation. The pea pods were good. We ordered 3 pastas and were so happy with each of them. First, the Spring Pea Ravioli in Brodo. Light and delicate pasta surrounded fresh and sweet pea filling in a rich and savory Parmesan broth with spring onions. So delicious. I wish there was some bread to soak up the extra broth. Next was the Short Rib stuffed pasta in a luscious sauce almost a gravy. The filling was smooth and rich. I wish there was some bread to soak up the extra sauce. The third pasta was perhaps the best of all. Spaghetti alla Nerano was rich, cheesy and garlicky. I could eat this 3 times a week. So satisfying and comforting. Again, I wish there was some bread to soak up the extra sauce. We decided 3 desserts sounded worth a try. The best of which was the Caramel Apple Budino and the Passion Fruit and Pineapple. The budino was the decadent caramel pudding of your dreams topped with fresh apple and caramel sauce. The Passion Fruit and Pineapple was a bowl of sweet, tropical icy deliciousness. A pineapple sorbet topped with a coconut cream covered with a passion fruit granita. A cold and rich bowl of sweetness that was the perfect relief to a warm and sultry dinner. Service was great. Pastas took a bit of extra time to come to the table but the quality and care that made them so amazing was well worth the wait. Presentation and plating was top notch. I only hope the photos do them justice.

Yelp
You've probably heard the hype about this place. I decided to go check it out and took my friend for a birthday dinner. I love how pink everything is inside but I hate that getting a reservation is so difficult. It was packed on a Wednesday evening! Okay food. If you get nothing else from this review. Know that you need to get the Spicy rigatoni. It's the best pasta I've ever had in my life. It was the perfect texture. The perfect spice level. Just yummy. Close second is the beef agnolotti. The burst of flavor is beyond. I'd skip dessert. The options weren't super exciting. Taking one star because the service was spotty after we sat down but again it was busy. I also feel like for the price. The food could be larger. I don't think you could get full off me pasta Overall loved it

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday night with a girlfriend for early dinner after work. Ambiance: We were some of the first reservations, and not many people in the restaurant yet. The music was louder than front row at a concert or nightclub. We were seated in the back room at the end of the bar area, and when the server came to greet us she had to yell at us. Thankfully, she offered to ask to have the music turned down. Like other reviewers said, the decor is super fun up front and at the bar, which is where I would sit if I returned here. The patio also looked really nice. Food: I was underwhelmed with the food here. Overall, the dressings and sauces especially on our salads and vegetables were so light they were almost watery so they didn't stick to the food but instead sat pooled on bottom of the bowls and plates. While the quality of the fresh ingredients for the tomato and beet salads was obviously high, both of the salads were roughly chopped into large chunky pieces. The beet salad had like 2 cherries and 3 pieces of pecan total, which meant most bites of the salad were just a heavy chunk of beet. The tomato was pretty, but nothing memorable in the overly light dressing - and again, there was maybe one green bean cut into two pieces in our salad total!!? The pasta dishes were both very tasty with perfectly cooked, fresh pasta. The shrimp dish had a total of 2 shrimp chopped into pieces on the edges of the dish. It doesn't make sense to me why at these prices you could not include a more standard portion of ingredients. Normally, I don't complain about portions in fine dining when I am enjoying the flavors, sauces, and presentation in the food in a special dining experience. But here, the stinginess of ingredients was an obvious distraction all night in each dish along with very loud music, crowded tables, and a cool and impersonal atmosphere. Service: our server was polite but not particularly friendly or helpful, and she focused on getting our WHOLE order of anything we wanted for starters and salads and vegetables and pasta (her instructions) all at once up front so I felt the goal was to turn our table as fast as possible. If I came back, I would sit at the bar and choose a glass of wine and a pasta dish. This is not a place I would choose to bring my adult children, my parents, or a business group for a night out given the loud atmosphere and very tight seating.

Yelp
This place does not need my review. They were packed all day all night! They have great food! We started our dining experience with two fantastic appetizers - the broccolini and crudo. The wild mushroom tortellini pasta dish was the highlight of the night. The flavor was one so unique and complex, I have never tasted before anywhere. It was so earthy and delicious. Our second dish, the squid ink pasta was a little too al dente but it had potential. Our third dish was the rigatoni alla vodka and the flavor and texture were spot on. To cap it off, we had the heavenly apple Bodino for dessert. This restaurant was super pricey though so just wanted to make sure that you are aware of it and could plan for special occasion. The bill ran us about $120 each. We had 5 dishes, a few cocktails and 1 dessert. They were on a smaller portions compared to an entree but shareable.

Yelp
The food was incredible! I am still dreaming of the doppio pasta a few weeks later. The service was great as well. We never felt rushed, ordered everything and they worked it all out at a great pace. Also loved the patio for a nice quiet spot in Minneapolis! Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Yelp
The food was delicious and everything tasted incredibly fresh! The pastas, which are made in house, were all rich in flavor. The spicy rigatoni was actually spicy, but not overbearing. And the noodles were aldente--perfect. The Doppio Ravioli was the table favorite. An unassuming menu item but the ricotta (and spinach?) duo, herbs, and hazelnut topping made this so tasty. The crab pasta was served with a savory green sauce, some snap peas, and was generally a delicious spring dish. Our service was great. Our server was helpful, patient, and checked back with us occasionally. She gave us a heads up when things might take longer, and offered some good drink recs! The vibe has a 80's Miami Vice color palette going on with a modern upscale twist to it. There's a boujee bar complimented by some street-facing booth seating. Overall a cute spot in the North Loop for a date, happy hour, GNO, etc.

Yelp
I was excited to come here, I love fresh handmade pasta! This place is in a hard to find place, not a lot of parking. It is by a ramp but we decided to valet because we didn't know where to find parking. Valet was $15. Food was so great here! Our favorites were the Doppio and the brick chicken, so so good!! I would come back for these dishes. The rest of the pasta dishes we got were really good too. For dessert we got some fruity dessert that was amazing. I can't remember what it was called but it was good. My only complaint was the prices seemed a little steep, the food is great quality, but the quantities are a little small. Overall a great dinning experience. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other dishes!

Yelp
We had a great experience at Dario to celebrate my birthday! To start off the celebrations, we were treated to a small glass of Prosecco! For starters, we had the marinated beets and the crispy potatoes- both were unique, fun, and incredible. For pastas we ordered the spicy rigatoni and the doppio ravioli. The doppio is a double ravioli with two pockets- one is a sweet honey ricotta and the other is a savory sunchoke. Together it's a great bite! Service was great throughout the meal. We asked for each item to come out one at a time so we could enjoy everything. Decor and ambiance was a fun green and pink. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This was one of the best pasta experiences I've ever had. It WAS the best ravioli experience I've ever had. We ordered two raviolis that were very different. A meat filled and a vegetable filled. They complement each other perfectly. I especially liked the sauces of each dish. The pasta was perfectly al dente cooked (toothy), and the sauce was perfectly coated. The sauce also wasn't runny, but had a sticky texture to the pasta. Not lathered, but perfectly applied (with also the ability to scoop up a little extra... which you should do). My only complaint, is that it's VERY expensive for the portions you are getting. If you have a large appetite, maybe go somewhere else. If you want to try the top echelon of pasta making, specifically ravioli, come here.

Yelp
Lovely new restaurant in North Loop Mpls Food was really delicious but a bit on the smaller side for me portion wise- we opted to get a few dishes and share Quality of the handmade pasta is excellent and they have very tasty cocktails and wine, also I don't think I have had vegetables taste that elevated before!! And soo gorgeous presentation wise!! Only gripe was our server never gave us any serving utensils with each dish and when we would try to ask for some there never seemed to be any staff around:( Music= way too loud where you can't hear each other and did not match the vibe asthetic of the restaurant Def a higher end date night kind of spot

Yelp
Dario is a GEM in the north loop! Truly some of the best pasta dishes I've had - the potatoes are definitely a highlight as a side and I would highly recommend! I do wish they didn't switch out their menu so often - I've been 3 times in the past few months they've been open and some of the pasta dishes I had before were no longer on the menu. However, everything is made well. The interior is nice, but the tables are pretty crowded together - just as an FYI! Reservations can be tough to get, but if you sign up for the waitlist for bar seating something usually opens up. Overall, a new go-to spot for me!

Yelp
The hubby asked me where I wanted to eat for my bday dinner and I immediately told him Dario. It's been a spot I've been wanting to try and was super excited! Decor and ambience: I really like the greens and pinks, definitely the trend right now and coupled with the art work, a very fun vibe. We were sat in the corner closer to entrance and I was here for it..the openness of the main dining are is popping and my old self enjoyed the quieter corner with the hubby. Looking at drinks..I had to have the Kelly Kapowski..a rose drink and yeah..big saved by the bell fam. Whoa! It's definitely strong but really refreshing We decided to do just a couple of veggie options and try more pasta dishes, which I thought was the perfect amount for us. We got to try more and still have some to bring home for later (well...our oldest got to them first but we should just say it was his portion when we take leftovers home now lol) Flowering Cauliflower - OMG so dang good. Love the sourdough chips on top and that sauce was delish. Let's just say the hubby took a spoon to what was left and at it all once the cauliflower was devoured. Grilled Hakuri Turnips- love the spice kick and the apple added a fresh and cooling element to the dish. Spaghetti alla Chitarra Limone - my fave of the night! If you like spice and seafood this is the one for you. Creamy sauce, perfect noodle with large amount of crab...yum! Puccino Paccheri Verde- This is a heartier pasta with the bolognese and first time having it with this type of pasta, a green tube style noodle is actually really good with the Ragu, this was my hubby's fave of the night. Ricotta Dumpling - so much ricotta goodness! The dumpling was soft and pillowy and stuffed with ricotta with maitake mushrooms on top. Give me more mushrooms! They are crisp and a great compliment to the richness of the dumpling. Doppio Ravioli - wow this was like dessert and was perfect to end with. First time seeing one ravioli split in two with different fillings. It had a sweetness to it that lightened up the dish and great texture with the hazelnut element which made it a very good end to our pasta courses. And finally... Cake and Ice Cream- you have to end your bday dinner with cake! In house made vanilla ice cream with a moist chocolate cake with ganache center. Great way to end the dinner and loves the pizzelle dusted with cocoa on top!

Yelp
The service was great. The vibes were fun, and the food was amazing. Between the two of us, we split an appetizer and three pastas. Some of the pasta dishes are on the small side, so we knew 1/pp wouldn't be enough. Plus, there was a lot we wanted to try on the menu. Of the four dishes we got, we were full. We would have been fine with a little less food but also would have been unsatisfied with one less dish. So, no regrets about our choice This is what we ordered: - Raw Vegetable Salad: It was light and filling. The jalapeno dressing provided a nice bite that was nicely balanced by the mint sprinkled throughout. -Spaghetti alla Chitarra Limone: I didn't love the first bite of this, but it grew on me. The first bite tasted sour, and the lemon taste was overpowering. But after the third and fourth bites, it grew on me. Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka: This was good in the way pasta with a good sauce makes you feel good. It was a well-done version of a standard dish. Beef Short Rib Agnolotti: This was my favorite. It was just so perfect--so flavorful with a fantastic sauce. I was surprised at how spicy some of the pasta was. It was great, but I worry about the typical MN diner. It was a pricey weeknight meal for us, so it won't be a regular stop, but we look forward to coming back and trying new things on the menu or enjoying the same things we enjoyed during this first stop.

Yelp
I love this addition to the North Loop. It's a little hard to find the entrance, but you have to go through the apartment lobby to go into this pink ans green, oasis themed restaurant. You can also book to sit in the pasta room, but it's just a communal table. The food was wonderful. I love the spaghetti with blue crab and the anolini with lamb ragu. Prices are a little expensive for portion size but worth it for date night or if you are in a big group to sample different things. There's also a good sized cocktail and mocktail menu. Our server was also super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
Dario is a very welcome addition to the Minneapolis food scene! The menu is pretty extensive with a good variety of filled and extruded pastas, plus some great appetizers and entrees. It's on the pricey side and I was expecting small portions based on other reviews but the pasta is actually quite filling and we had no room left for dessert. The interior decor is lovely and very contemporary. Service was also good. We tried the following: - Flowering cauliflower (5/5): so unique! Similar to broccolini but more delicate, paired with a delicious brown butter sauce. Am trying to find a grocery store that will sell me cauliflower tips now! - Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka (4/5): classic, can't go wrong. Right amount of al dente. Good heat. - Butternut Squash Scarpinocc (5/5): my favorite pasta dish of the night. Super delicate pasta and the balsamic vinegar cuts the richness nicely. - Mafaldini Frutti di Mare (3/5): I was most excited for this dish because I love seafood but was let down by basic lack of salt/seasoning. The pasta itself was nice and there was a good amount of seafood, but just really needed salt and maybe some lemon. - Risotto Al Tartufo (4/5): risotto was well made, nice earthy flavor. Pretty good deal with real truffle shavings (usually costs extra). Will definitely be back and save room for dessert next time!

Yelp
Parking's fairly easy so that's a bonus, but my husband and I got there at 5pm, opening, so not a crowd to fight with for parking either. My husband picked this restaurant, we'd just gotten back from Italy. Nothing is the same as pasta in Italy, but we can try... I love the decor, retro, yet modern. I'd love to see a picture of this place with the open kitchen and staff next to a 1950's diner. It'd be cool to see the contrast. For drinks, we went with the N/A, Sparkling Jade for me. They were ridiculously priced at $14, when the alcoholic drinks were $16. I was hoping my drink would blow me away, but it was flat, warm, tasted slightly like pear, which was odd because pear was not listed. For food: Hiramasa Crudo: Excellent, so fresh, buttery, bursts of citrus flavors. I wanted a full platter. Goat Cheese Anolini: Heavy, a bit too salty. Fine, but I'd skip. Spaghetti alla Chitarra Limone: I wasn't expecting the spice level in this dish, I loved it. The spiciness bordered on overpowering the crab, but if you get just the right ratio in your mouth, it's perfect. That's what she said. Char Siu Pork Belly: Tender with bits of wonderfully charred strips, nice caramelized gooeyness. But, too salty, I wanted to love this. Flowering Cauliflower: Nice, we liked this. It's a bit overpriced, a little heavy handed on the salt, but we enjoyed our meal. Service was great, I feel inspired to make my own pasta at home.

Yelp
Waiter was knowledgeable and fun. Restaurant was kind of tight and loud but has nice decor and ambiance, however, I was expecting the food to be alot better than it was. The menu was very limited.

Yelp
Fun night exploring a new restaurant with a few people visiting from out of town. I thought all of our food excellent, but service was good not great and the vibes overall were a bit odd (sort of a 50s diner decor/vibe but with a nice Italian menu) and it was very loud and hard to hear. We weren't huge fans of the drink menus either. Overall good but I would rather go to some of the other places in town for a similar price point.

Yelp
Super cute interior, attentive service, and great menu items. I definitely recommend sharing multiple dishes to try more. But honestly portion sizes were bigger and better than I expected!

Yelp
Husband took me out on a date night on a weekday to Dario, the place was lively on a Tuesday night. We ordered the Oysters Dario which were delicious. The citrus shaved ice ball may be too strong for some people, in that case just remove it. We orders the spaghetti, pacherri, doppio ravioli ,and risotto. All were very yummy, out of those dishes, the doppio ravioli was my favorite! It's very different and makes you contemplate if you should order it to go! We also ordered the cauliflower and potatoes. Everything from the drinks to the service was impeccable. Make your reservations now!

Yelp
Stepping into Dario at 5pm on a Saturday is like entering a pastel themed snow globe just before it's shaken up. I can't explain it, but it's slightly magical. The interior is stunning; with a wall of windows providing natural light, pastel pinks and blues, comfortable bar seating (for once!), plenty of plants, and beautiful gold silverware, the space feels iridescent. We snagged two bar seats right at opening, and within 15 minutes, each seat surrounding us was occupied. The space was bustling, the atmosphere buzzing with excited voices ready for creatively curated drinks and punchy pasta dishes. * Gin Martini - smooth and cold. I usually prefer vodka to gin, but this one may have me switching my liquor preference. * Red Endive - their take on a Waldorf salad. Asian pears, deliciously sharp and creamy roquefort cheese, candied walnuts, and dates are hidden under bright endives. Refreshing and light, a solid starter. * Flowering Cauliflower - the bagna cauda sauce makes this dish. Think rich and buttery, garlicky and savory all at once. As if butter and aioli had a baby. The cauliflower itself is good but nothing without the sauce, capers, and lacy sourdough that tops the florets. * Doppio Ravioli - rivals my favorite pasta dish at BLG. Picture intricately double stuffed ravioli, like two twin beds of flavor explosions. One side is filled with sunchokes that seem to dissolve into instant creaminess while the other oozes whipped ricotta. Topped with hazelnuts, rosemary, and honey, the flavor combination is truly spectacular. * Mafaldini Frutti di Mare - not a huge fan of seafood pasta dishes, but enter this mafaldini and I feel otherwise. Fresh shrimp, calamari, and clams are piled on perfectly long and curly mafaldine that hold their bite. All doused in a rich, garlic-butter sauce, quite excellent. Overall, phenomenal pasta dishes in the NL. Even better? They just opened end of January and we didn't notice a single glitch. Their management was also impeccable - consistently asking how we enjoyed our experience. Not to mention the precious space! Future visits are certainly in order - highly recommend.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my first meal at Dario! I went with two girlfriends on a Wednesday night and the place was buzzing but bigger than I expected, so it didn't feel crowded. Service was very kind to answer our many questions and make some recommendations because the menu is so big, and everything sounds so good! We ordered the spaghetti allá chitarra, spicy rigatoni, doppio ravioli, ricotta dumplings, oysters Dario, flowering cauliflower and fennel. My favorite pasta was the spaghetti-- the sauce was bright and tangy and I really liked the texture of the extruded noodles. The only pasta I would skip next time was the dumplings. The fennel dish was a tasty salad, but I didn't love the flowering cauliflower as it seemed hard and undercooked. Sauce was awesome though. Oysters Dario were unique and yummy! I didn't love the cocktail menu (too much vermouth) but I ended up enjoying both of the gin cocktails I tried. Desserts were good but not great. This is a new restaurant so I'm sure these few areas of improvement will get better over time. Can't wait to come back and try some more of the menu!

Yelp
Dario is one of the newest most popular italian spots in Minneapolis. I had the vodka pasta which I thought was a very good spice level in a vodka sauce and the noodles were cooked perfectly! I had the orange spritz which was good, but definitely not comparable to an aeprol spritz if that's what you are looking for. The apple budino pudding was amazing as well! The service was amazing however there was a 15 minute wait even though we had a reservation and heavy metal rock playing throughout the restaurant which I wasn't really a fan of. Overall, good food but I wouldn't be a regular here.

Yelp
Mmmmm! The BEST food I've had in the past year. The menu is divided into sections: raw, extruded pastas, filled pastas, meat, cold veggies, and hot veggies. For two people, they recommended sharing two pastas, a meat, and a veggie/raw or two. Fennel - you must try this. Even if you don't like fennel, it is such a bright and interesting dish: braised fennel tangled with thin shaved raw fennel, citrus, and who knows what else to make it so marvelous. Rigatoni with sausage - very spicy, a little sweet and very tasty. Spaghetti with blue crab - also very spicy. If you're not sure exactly what umami is - this is the very definition of umami. So rich, so delicious. Chicken - exceptionally juicy, rich, and punctuated with lemon and capers. Horseradish potato purée hiding inside roasted cabbage. Nice side dish. Truffle risotto - oooooooooohhhh, so good. So so so so good. Perfectly al dente risotto puddled on the plate, showered with a generous shaving of fresh black truffles. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmmmm!!

Yelp
My 2nd visit was just as tasty as the first. Although even with the 7 PM reservation, we still ended up waiting over 30 minutes for a table. Our bartender made up for the slight inconvenience with a delicious twist on a cocktail. Hot tip try to find street parking if you can. They do have a pay by the hour lot with limited spots available as well as valet parking. Lots of spots in the north loop area for street parking.

Yelp
Mannnnnn was this GOOD STUFF! ‍ First let's start by giving kudos to our waiter Riley. He was cute, but he was on top of his stuff. We were seated at the big community table by the kitchen and he was taking care of four different groups. He gave us excellent food and wine advice and it really helped direct us. We started with steak tartare - a bit different than most! There was a little heat, they were served on lettuce leaves, and there was a crunchy cooked rice in the base that gave the dish something extra. Although it was a veggie side dish, we had pickled beets as an appetizer. Again - not a typical presentation, and not even something I'd usually eat, but it was executed so well with a long ribbon of shaved beets intermixed with chunks too. We shared it - and it was sizable - but we could have easily polished one off by ourselves. For a pasta course we shared Doppio Ravioli - it was a ravioli with TWO chambers - one with sunchoke (artichoke) and the other with ricotta. It was drizzled with a savory honey-sauce with hazelnuts and rosemary and it was AWESOME! I had a rather unusual dish - a sweet barbecued pork belly with a fermented black bean sauce and tiny clams - and it had such a deep, delicious flavor and a unique umami to it. My hubby had a delicious mostly rare hangar steak with a peppercorn sauce - stunning in flavor and presentation! We shared nearly orgasmic dish - grilled caraflex cabbage! It had a large and scrumptious based of potatoes mashed with Dijon mustard and horseradish covered by a very well cooked leave or two of cabbage that had also been basted with Dijon. It was so good we ordered a second one! For dessert we opted for a chocolate cake with hazelnut sauce, a little ice cream, and a dainty cookie. Service was superb. Wine was superb. Food was superb. What didn't work: the steak was served "cool" and we mentioned it to the waiter who promptly replaced it, although the second steak was barely better at lukewarm. The cake comparatively wasn't impressive at all. The coffee I ordered with it was lukewarm. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
If you're looking for a new favorite, this. is. it. We ordered three starters, two pastas, and dessert, and it was the perfect amount of food for two people. The rigatoni alla vodka was our favorite, the perfect blend of spice and umami. We also took a chance on the special of the day - garganelli with braised beef and lightly pickled peppers and it was phenomenal. Dario is known for their pastas and it shows! Our server Laura was amazing, so friendly but also very knowledgeable. We took many of her recommendations for pairings and it made the meal so much more enjoyable. This was such a cozy but refreshing spot!!

Yelp
Very cute restaurant with pink accents. The bar and wine menu has a lot to offer- I ordered a orange pinot grigio. We ordered the Hiramasa Crudo, the Short Rib Agnolotti and the Potato Gnocchi. The pasta is delicious and is made in house by Rachel McLeod. And the crudo was balanced really nicely with acidity. The only reason it isn't a 5 for me is based on price per portion and the parking around the location is a little tricky.
