So glad Damas opened in this spot! Food was delicious and very well priced for the size of the portions. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating. Overall 5/ 5 experience- coming from people who LOVE Mediterranean food. 💛

I am sooo excited about this new restaurant in LP! This was such a great dining experience. I went with a group of 4 and we ordered a LOT of food. Tried probably 1/3 of the menu and it was all so delicious I have zero notes. The best part though was the BYOB. We brought in a couple bottles of wine that the owner kindly chilled for us and brought out as needed. This was a game changer because we ordered that much food and for a group of 4 it was roughly $19 each. Everything is so well priced for the quality, atmosphere and service. I will be coming back and am so glad I got to try this place before word gets out and it'll be hard to get a reservation 🥲

Food was extremely bland. It was as though it was made 2 days ago and reheated in a microwave, and the person making it 2 days ago was in no particular mood to try hard. We ordered Humus, Shish Kebab, Chicken Shawarma Plate and Beef Shawarma Plate. Only the Humus was good (delicious, actually). The rest was noticeably home-made (and not as in Ratatouille, but as in your mom fixes you something in 3 mins because she needs to go ASAP). Extremely salty, meat was overdone, chicken was bland. There was no flavor besides salt and protein. Also, fries were obviously made from a supermarket bag, not cut in the store. If it was cheap it would be OK, but you are paying ~30USD per person for food that would be sold for max 10 bucks per person in a street Shawarma cart. The plate in my pic costed 28 USD!! Ambiance was good, but we were the only table. After eating the food I know why. I'm also inclined to think that either quality went downhill QUICK (this place is new) or their other reviews are fake. There is no way in hell it deserves the 4.8 stars it has right now (which is the only reason I went there)

So far, the best tasting Mediterranean food I have tried in Chicago and north suburbs area Chicken shawarma hit the spot 10/10 and the kibbeh is a must try

The service was wonderful and our waiter was the best! The hummus was absolutely delicious and so was chicken kabob plate & chicken shawarma plate. Will definitely be returning

I love Mediterranean food, and theirs was delicious! I had lentil soup, baba ghanoush with pita, and mujadara with tomato and cucumber salad. Wonderful atmosphere for a relaxing meal, very friendly service. A great addition to the neighborhood!

My fiancée and I got dinner today at Damas on their first day open and were very impressed with the food as well as how hospitable the owner was. The owner was very welcoming and on top of things. We are big fans of Mediterranean food and this place is right up there with the best. The falafel is a must order as an app, and we highly recommend the Beef Shawarma sandwich and Kafta kabob (pictured). We will certainly be back to try more of the menu items!

I came here on a Monday night and the restaurant was empty! We had the whole place to ourselves. It was a quiet, simple spot. The waiter/host(?) was very friendly and we learned this is Syrian cuisine. Everything tasted fresh and we loved that it was BYOB. The food items we got were the spinach pies (id pass), the hummus (yes, delicious), the lentil soup (just okay) and the combo plater with rice which was so flavorful and tasted so fresh! Highly recommend that and you can share it.

Ahh! This used to be Plates Grill, remember that? I had a Lentil Soup. The place is small, low key and intimate. It's still a Soft Opening for a couple weeks until the Grand Opening. PS. They don't have alcohol yet. So, it's BYOB.

For the price it was soooo average, the only good one was Shish kebab The service was ok, I won't come again

Ordered beef kebab. Very dry and very small portions for the high price. The bread provided tasted old. Overall I would not recommend

5 stars.. 10/10... This place is my new Mediterranean food obsession... first of all I love that it's BYOB!! They offer alcohol you can purchase there as well, but my friends and I were able to bring in 4 bottles that they chilled for us and it made for a much less expensive dining experience. The food was fantastic, so fresh, came out quick and paced out well since we ordered shared plates. The restaurant itself is so peaceful and gives off a very warm vibe. It's clear that it's family owned because of how much the owner cares for the guests and the authenticity of the cuisine. Overall I'm so excited about this new addition to Lincoln ave. Everything was very reasonably priced, large portions, DELICIOUS, good menu variety, nice restaurant ambiance, and the BYOB itself is a major selling point.

I ordered food to go and I got the beef shawarma plate just to see that it was missing all the veggies. The only thing that I got was beef, fries, and pita bread. I'm not sure how that's even possible.

Food was delightful and the service was lovely. Not to mention the portions are enough for two meals! A cute spot in Lincoln Park that deserves more buzz.

We just moved into a condo a block away and were super happy to find our favorite kind of food next door. Everything was great with a special mention to the fantastic hot dolmades.

Delicious food. All the Mediterranean classics but with such a fresh taste to it. High quality ingredients. A little pricey but you get huge portions. Byob!
