I really wanted to love DaMò Pasta Lab. The concept—customizable, fast-casual pasta made to order—sounded like a dream. But sadly, the execution left a lot to be desired.
I ordered the Cacio e Pepe, expecting a simple, peppery, cheesy classic. What I got instead tasted more like a jarred Alfredo—thick, overly creamy, and missing the signature sharpness and depth that makes the dish great. It just didn’t hit the mark.
My friends had a slightly better experience with their dishes, but still nothing that stood out. For a place focused on fresh, made-to-order pasta, the flavors felt surprisingly flat. Definitely not worth the price point.
Ordering was another frustration. You place your order at a screen, which seems efficient in theory, but with so many options, it quickly got cumbersome. What really bothered us, though, was that while we were still figuring it out, the staff took the order of the person behind us at the counter instead. It ended up delaying us quite a bit—even though we were there first.
We tried to salvage the experience with dessert, but the tiramisu was a miss too. It was way too sweet, with none of the balanced, coffee-forward richness you’d expect. A couple bites in and we were done.
To their credit, the staff was very friendly—welcoming and helpful the whole time. I really appreciated that. But overall, the food just didn’t deliver, and it wasn’t a great value for what we paid. I love the idea behind DaMò, but unless the flavors improve, I probably won’t be back.
