We were in the neighborhood looking for dessert and this shop popped up. We stopped in Sunday at around two in the afternoon and there was only one other customer in store. This shop is ran by a friendly hardworking man who is well informed about all the delicious chocolate and gelato. This space is so cute, and there are so many different varieties!

Obsessed with this hidden gem! The variety of treats and chocolate is amazing and reasonably priced. The key lime was so tart. German chocolate cake was almost like a brownie texture which I liked. They have a cute little patio area to sit and hangout by the sidewalk/street. We can’t wait to come and get dips and desserts for our future gatherings.

Beautiful artisan chocolate shop in the heart of Victory neighborhood. Also featuring soups, sandwiches, and Gelato. In the summer they host events and have outdoor seating. Locally owned and operated. Just another hidden gem in North Minneapolis.

Four years of success! This place is one of the gems of the North Side. Owned and operated by two of the most skillful and caring people. Oh, and everything they make and sell is top quality and delicious. It may seem like it’s out of your way but it’s worth every minute it takes you to get there. Oh, did I mention how great the food is? The best chocolate in Minneapolis (and beyond). From the first bite you’ll be planning your next visit. Oh, and besides the chocolate there’s biscotti, cookies, and a variety of savory items too. Do your self a big favor. Go to Dancing Bear. Tell Steven and Joe that Chuck sent you.

The chocolate gelato was really good! And the almond clouds were delicious. I really didn't have an appetite for anything sweet at that moment but was curious about the taste. After I tried a bite, I ended up finishing it and ate another. It was really good. I'm really glad I tried this place. Will definitely go back for movie nights.

I was looking for ice cream shops on Google and came across this highly rated chocolatier/gelato/dessert shop so we went and checked it out. One of the gentlemen greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very kind and told us about their offerings. He gave us a sample of their European style “sipping” hot chocolate which was so delicious and rich. We were there to get gelato which they don’t serve in the fall/winter, but they had pints and cups in the freezer for purchase. We got a cup of the chocolate hazelnut, which had chopped hazelnuts inside, and a cup of the tres leches, which was out of this world—it was so thick and delicious. I also got a double chocolate sourdough brownie to try later and it tasted like fudge. If you love chocolate and gelato, I highly recommend checking them out! Their goods are a bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the quality and for supporting a small business. It looks like a gift shop when you walk in, which I was not expecting, but they have their desserts, including chocolates, cookies, cakes, and pastries, on display.

The chocolate is nice. It’s good but not the best I’ve had. I went in there to buy a box of chocolates for Mother’s Day but they really didn’t have a selection of boxed chocolates. They had like 3 small square boxes. So I ended up choosing a few individual wrapped pieces of chocolate. I bought a cashew cluster for myself and the rest are for a Mother’s Day gift. The cashew cluster I had was good. Bottom line, I’m more of a fan of Candyland.

If you love chocolate, this is the place for you! Not only that but you will be helping a small business owner! Doing good while eating good! This place has awesome Kodiak Dark Chocolate Gelato, hot coco that’s like melted chocolate (literally) and awesome treats to match it up like a homemade pimiento spread plus a mango curd! There’s just a lot of nice things to try! Definitely worth the trip!

This is an absolutely world-class chocolate shop. The quality of everything I've gotten from here backs that up, but beyond the quality of their many offerings, it's just one of the most charming little shops you'll find anywhere. I was invited to an event here in 2022, and ever since then I've started looking for excuses to come in. I live in St Paul so I'm not in this neighborhood that often. But lately I just make the drive when I feel like it, and it's worth it. (And for the record, no matter what they say about North Minneapolis in general, this is a super cute neighborhood.) The owners are so friendly and passionate, it's just very pleasant in there. They always have new things that are either seasonal or that they just spun up on a whim. If you come during the winter you can try their European-style drinking chocolate, which is super smooth and VERY rich. But other times of year/week will offer different surprise treats. They'll often have savory hand pies and cheese spreads & dips, and I really liked the pimento spread. They make their own peanut butter and it is the best peanut butter I've ever had; you can get it on its own, or find it incorprated into some of their chocolate and gelato offerings. Everything on their shelf is something that was crafted in the kitchen you can glimpse over the counter, and all of it would be at home at the fanciest chocolate and pastry shops you can imagine. The thing to do is stop here next time you're on your way to a dinner party or someplace where you want to impress people with a very nice gift of gourmet sweet treats. That's what I've been doing. It totally works. I seriously love this place!

A cozy chocolate shop hidden in a neighbor, near Hwy 100/Brooklyn Blvd. I attended a private YELP event here in December and found myself in the area today. Stopping in was a MUST. Not surprised to find the 2 owners hard at work making all those goodies. Today was a cold, brisk morning and walking into a warm store was refreshing. I'm assuming the keep if warmer when actively making chocolate. I picked out my faves: Kodiak bar, Big Hazel cookie and Oreo Gelato. Spoke with one of owners during checkout. While you won't find anything to compare Dancing Bear Chocolate to in this neighborhood, I believe it stacks up with world-class patisseries while maintaining its little neighborhood feel. The retail space is meant for walk-ups only, so you can't linger over your treats while enjoying the ambiance of your neighbors stopping through, but in the warm seasons there are little tables outside and plans to make their back garden a patio to linger on. Now, onto the food! There is nothing better than their hand pies, their flourless chocolate cake (Reina de Saba /Queen of Sheba), the key lime pie... at this rate it's easier to say what isn't phenomenal which is NOTHING. Chef Steven does not miss. It's crazy how good he is. It's crazy how lucky our neighborhood is to have them here.

If you haven't been to Dancing Bear Chocolate in North Minneapolis, then you need to get there. Everything they have is top notch (chocolate, pastries, and soup to mention a few). I had a crostata pastry there (blueberry and lemond curd if I recall correctly) and it was the best pastry I have ever had. Today I picked up a sourdough brownie, which was excellent, and some soup and a sorbet. The sorbet is honey and sunflower and it brought back memories of the State Fair and being with my father. Today I arrived before they were officially open and when they saw me they opened the doors early. Does customer service get better than that? Add on to that customer service that they are very knowledgeable and friendly. I will be back many, many more times. Come join me.

YUM I have stopped in here twice. Once having a key lime parfait on the little patio. The parfait was light, tangy, and perfectly sweet on a hot summer day. Today, I was in the neighborhood so I picked up a little treat this time a chocolate one. I went in for one but came out with two: English toffee smothered in milk/dark chocolate and a kodiak bar. Both are delicious, but I have to say that kodiak bar was unlike anything and well worth a trip back. The soft and marshmallow crispy bars are sandwiched together with a light and creamy peanut butter filling. The kind of peanut butter filling I think Nutty Buddies wished they were like. Then it's half dipped into dark chocolate. So delicious, easily shared, but I don't know if I'd want to. Don't get me wrong, the English toffee was also delectable. Next time, maybe I'll treat myself to the exquisite chocolates in gorgeous, shiny, colorful flower shapes. I highly recommend dropping in next time you need a treat or a gift. Plus, you're supporting local business.

Ordered their German chocolate cake, Best German chocolate cake I have EVER tasted! Absolutely incredible!! The owners and staff are a first class group. Their chocolates are nice. I travel a lot, this group's chocolates and cakes exceeds even European bakeries. Impressive!!

This place is delightful. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Everything looks delicious.

I don't know how they do it, but these gentlemen make very, very special bakery items and chocolates. Perfect balances of textures and flavors in every. single. recipe! No fire and misses here. Very intelligent, loving and impressive. My personal favorite is the almond cookie - crunchy outside, soft inside, perfect balance of sweet and salt. Best I've ever had! Definitely worth a special trip. I will especially go for special occasions and stock ups.

If you want the best chocolate cake Minnesota this is probably the place to go with a great selection of chocolate stuff this place has multiple I highly recommend this definitely 5 stars 11/10

Where has this place been my whole life? I'm sad I just found out about it now. Have a sweet tooth? This place is sure to please! I ended up getting numerous Christmas gifts for teachers, family and friends here. They have gifts at all price points and really for anyone on your list. It's covid safe too!

I have been eating chocolate for 50 years and this is by far the best I have ever had! They don't just have chocolate either! Their key lime white chocolate parfait is delightfully tart and the lemon tart is mouth watering! Their gelato reminds me of time spent in Italy and just the other day I had the hot chocolate for the first time and I've never tasted better! It is al just so good and I am not done trying things - you owe it to yourself to check this place out!!!

I cant say enough wonderful things about Dancing Bear. I have been enjoying their treats since they opened and feel incredibly lucky to live within walking distance to them. They have the best cake I have ever had. ever. Its not your typical cake-its a chocolate baked mousse that tastes like a chocolate cake with mousse and whipped cream. You must try it. Every single bite is perfection. Today I stopped by and picked up a few of my favorite items and two new ones-ginger chocolate dipped cookies and Bear Paw Fudge Brownie. The ginger chocolate dipped cookies had just finished setting-they were divine! the cookie was crisp and the chocolate was smooth and rich without being too sweet. The brownie. oh my. Please try it. you will be so happy. a fudge center with slightly crisp outside and subtle cherries and chocolate throughout...so good. It is the best brownie I have ever eaten. The quality of the ingredients and the precision of the baking comes through in every bit. its a must try...I feel bad for every brownie I eat from this point on.

Wow! I'm so truly amazed by how 1. Each time i've been to this establishment I've been made to feel incredibly safe with food safety and customer safety. Both men are wearing mask and gloves while they making food and dealing with the customers. They also make sure only so many masked people are in their establishment at once and that the few masked people in the store are standing the proper distance away from one another. 2. Now, here's the fun part. I have never had a better lemon bar in my entire life.The tiniest, thinnest, bit of crispiness on top. the lemony gelato like center that burst onto your tongue, that's so fresh tasting with little bits of zest. to the most amazing shortbread bottom. Talk about a piece of heaven. 3. The best part is that's not the only piece of heaven they create. I've had their PassionFruit Buttercream Chocolate Layer Cake and carrot cake. HEAVEN! I feel I could write a page on how each one is incredibly delicious. however I'll let your tongue discover each delicious taste and texture for itself. This establishment is an absolute must visit whether you're visiting Minneapolis or a permit fixture. I've not had another food in Minneapolis that has given my tongue such delight.

What a wonderful new chocolatier in Minneapolis!! Worth the jaunt from south to north Minneapolis. Excellent quality and friendly service. We switched all our holiday orders from a well known nation wide order company to shop local this year. Already getting rave reviews from our gift recipients.

First time visitor. Had a perfect experience. I had a special request that needed to be presented with just the right flair. They got it. It was just right- the perfect blend of things to make an "old fashioned "Grandma" collection of goodies" that was just right for the seniors I was taking it to. They took the extra time, and made me know that "it would be a couple minutes".... well worth the wait. Felt very good spending my money at this small, local business.

I cannot recommenced this wonderful shop enough. The two owners are extremely kind, caring, and respectful. The shop is very clean with a well organized table of scrumptious treats and goodies. My boyfriend and I stopped in for some chocolate covered blueberries, a chocolate covered apricot, and a big hazel cookie. One of the owners put in two extra sample treats for us as well--a peanut butter cup and I believe the other was called an almond cloud. Everything tasted amazing--the chocolate is rich and creamy. Just beautiful. If anyone deserves a long-living small business, it's this wonderful couple. Please stop in and meet these wonderful folks! Thank you Dancing Bear!
