New location is spacious, clean and bright with more inside seating and a patio with wicker tables. Menu is breakfast and lunch focused, egg sandwiches, burritos and pancakes, sandwiches salads and soups. 2 soup choices, a quiche choice and on this Saturday, an omelet bar.
My egg sandwich was perfectly prepared-soft seeded kaiser bun brushed lightly with oil and grilled, with two fried eggs, crispy bacon, melty cheese and a set off in the most sublime manner with with light smear of mayo. I added a cup of spicy and flavorful pork green chili, well rounded flavor and a satisfying level of chili infused
warmth.
Food is five stars, better than I expected and certainly what is needed in evergreen for a non-wait alternative to the always jammed Wildflower.
The service however, Would benefit from some process improvement. The ordering process is not clear, the full menu menu is not posted,And I waited at the counter not knowing what to do-- and finally asked the young lady working there if I could see a menu. She seemed a little bit detached and like the others working there, was involved in doing Multiple tasks including getting the drinks and set ups etc. There were three people working that I could see, one making omelettes, one cooking and prepping-- what was awkward is that he was also serving customers that were waiting at their tables. It might work better and be less chaotic if each worker had a task and they enlisted a food runner to bring food to the tables, get drinks, and keep things moving. Additionally, set ups were not brought when the food was brought, so the gentleman delivering the food had to run back inside to get them, adding to the disorganized vibe.
The choppy service would not stop me from coming back, it is a casual place so it can be overlooked as a flaw. You walk up to the counter, you order and about 10 minutes later your food comes to your table. The food was solid, hot andand I hope that Dandelions in its new digs is here to stay!
