Dang Kitchen

The branding brought me in, and the food will bring me back. Dang offers an ultramodern vibe both on their slick website and inside the cute restaurant. We tried out one item from each section: a bowl, a taco and a sandwich. It was all good, but the "Loin King" sandwich was a cut above the rest. An incredibly creative combination of flavors that led to a startlingly fresh pallet adventure. The sandwich was the only thing that blew me away, but all of the food was worth coming back for if you're in the area.

Dang...it was so hard to choose one item! Wanted Bahn mi but saw the red curry and had to go that route. So much chicken and the flavor of the curry was pungent and yummy. Great interior and service. The food does take a minute to come out to you. Walk up counter to order and they bring it to you and clean up after you. Gotta try their poke bowls next.

The new menu is phenomenal! We split the Vegetarian Pulled Pork Taco made with jackfruit which was very good and not like anything I had had before. We also had the Thai Basil Fried Rice with chicken and white rice which was a huge and very flavorful. The Thai basil was fresh on the stem and you could add it to taste and the red peppers in it were very sweet a sign that it was fresh and very high quality. The last thing that we had was the Diver that was very balanced and had a ton of tuna. The bang for your buck here is almost nuclear and the sate sauce changed my life!

My family and I were invited to attend the "soft opening" a few days prior to their official opening on July 21st. Wow! Great food! The signature sandwiches are fantastic! Fresh ingredients, and absolutely delicious. The Spring Rolls are fresh and tasty and could be a meal in themselves. A real treat was the Vietnamese coffee at the end of the meal. The staff, though extremely busy, were very friendly and efficient. I wish Dave and his partners every success for this wonderful little eatery.

Their new menu is great. I've had the tuna sandwich (diver), it was pretty good, but the pork and honeycrisp apple sandwich (the lion king) was phenomenal, and I love their red curry (a bit more of a coconut curry than most red curry but amazing). The staff is also very friendly, there's rarely a long line, and the decor is on point if you like bright colors. This isn't your traditional bhan mi stop but is great fusion food.

Michael, the owner, has put careful thought into ensuring this is an amazing experience. Recipes are authentic and generations old. Resulting food is deep with flavor and made from quality ingredients. Prices can't be beat, facility is very clean, and staff makes you feel appreciated. (Thanks Jacob!) My favorite is the lemongrass tofu banh mi with fried egg. And of course the Vietnamese coffee. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! :)

The interior of the restaurant is lovely, with vibrant bright colors and beautiful woven light fixtures. I went in for a late lunch, around 2 p.m. No one else was in line and everyone already had their food but we were still slow to receive service at the ordering counter and slow to receive our food. I had ordered a Topo Chico to drink and after waiting ten minutes had to go back up to the counter to ask for it. Besides the lacking service, the food was overly priced, not that great, not authentic, and over-hyped. Got the Dang Original banh mi and the lemongrass pork bun noodle bowl. The bread on the banh mi was good, light, soft, with a good crust when you bite into it. The flavors weren't bad, I liked the different meats and additional flavors and sauces put into the sandwich but where were the jalapeños? The vermicelli was cold, hard --indicative of noodles that weren't fresh and instead sat chilled or pulled out of the refrigerator. No one likes cold hard noodles, no matter how much tasty fish sauce you cover it in. I did enjoy the variety of different crunchy vegetables, textures, and toppings. The lemongrass pork was mediocre and also cold. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want authentic Vietnamese food.

Took a few friends to Dang Banh Mi after it's opening a few weeks ago. We decided to go all-out and tried an assortment of dishes from their menu. We ordered the Dang Original, Lemongrass Beef, and Char Siu Chicken. Consensus was the beef was the best, but the pork was a close second. We really wanted to try the Ox Tail, but we were told it sells out by lunch. As for other items on the menu, the Pho was so so and the Bún Noodle Bowl was ok. Their specialty definitely is the Banh Mi. The service was very helpful. They provided extra bowls so we could share (even though sharing really isn't ideal). Prices were reasonable. The interior space is very modern and trendy. There are woven baskets hanging from the ceiling, which have been retrofitted as lighting. Ordering is done at the front and you are provided a number. You may choose your own table. Very casual dining.

Finally a Vietnamese restaurant that doesn't taste fusion lol 1. There was no wait time and the hostess was very friendly and inviting 2. The place was clean and looked more of a modern pho place compared to the traditional Vietnamese restaurants I have been too 3. Even though this place does serve pho, this place is more known to be the spot for Bun mi, Vermicelli bowl and Vietnamese coffee, and they were right!! It tasted like I was back in Saigon and Bay Area 4. Plating was simple , nothing fancy 5. Price was a little bit higher than what I am use too in California for Vietnamese food. But I understand every location differs in demographic. 6. Would I come back? Definitely, will be back to try the rest of the menu including their 12hr cooked Pho.

The choice to change from a traditional fish sauce without stipulating that on your menu when it's not only got spice to it (i like spice, but not my vermicelli), but it's chock full of mint (which i don't even like in my toothpaste). Unfortunately, I didn't realize there was a sauce change until I had poured it all over the meal. Which means I just spent $13 on food I now get to throw out because of there not being an accurate menu. If someone had an allergy to any of these ingredients, it'd be bad news. This was my first and last meal here. Never trust an "upscaled" version of a food that was just fine as it's meant to be served. Overpriced, flavorless, and dry with a sauce that's not at all described (and should be). Hard pass on this if you have food allergies or sensitivities as the emphasis here is more 'how fancy can we make this seem' instead of leaving a staple as it is. Super disappointing and I wish I had my money back. Edit: Correction it was $15 + the spring rolls which were eaten plain because instead of peanut sauce it was just straight up chunky peanut butter with the same mint/spice stuff put in and undippable. If you need a spoon for a dip? It's not a dip. With a mandatory set of taxes for an online order it was $92 after tip+tax with half of it being inedible food. Nearly $100 for 3 out of 6 dishes being bad - which would've cost $40 at any other local hole in the wall pho/bahn mi place fyi

What a cute little place! I had no idea all these years it's been here. My friend wanted to meet here because she said the banh mi was pretty good and I was skeptical because I haven't really heard of a good banhmi place in Austin. I have my faves in Houston only. But I was willing to try. I met her there and the hostess was so sweet and kind. I took a second look and swore I knew her and then I realized it's my son's HS friend lol no wonder ha but she seriously is the best hostess waitress Violet :) attentive sweet accommodating kind lol This place is cute and clean. Little hole n the wall. Would not have stumbled upon it. I wanted to try other things but since my friend said the banh mi was good I stuck to it. She got the bbq one but I always prefer traditional. And got spring rolls too. The price is a bit high because I am used to Houston banh mi prices but when I took a bite it was worth it. It was very tasty and I loved the bread texture which is so important in a good banhmi. The bread was perfect. The ingredients fresh. I didn't want cilantros but it was added and it was ok. I took it out. I felt the pate was a bit much and it was a bit saltier than my liking but it was still tasty and the bread alone was perfectly done. I enjoyed the spring rolls too. Very fresh and the peanut sauce tasty. I enjoyed the whole lunch experience. My only criticism was the price point. A bit high but nowadays everything is high. It's worth a visit. Cute lunch place. Especially if you aren't too hungry and wanted a yummy snack :) It's located in the strip mall behind chilis and Kung fu tea around the corner. Definitely easy access location. Now I know where Le Bleu is!

Yet another satisfying dinner this week with always very pleasant service. Highlights were 1) "Eggplants" (eggplants, basil, garlic, mushroom sauce over jasmine rice in a bowl). I chose a very tender spicy chicken as an additional protein for a few bucks, 2) "Cà Ri Chay"curry (yellow curry, coconut cream, oyster mushroom, vegetables, jasmine rice). The addition of tofu was splendid, worked great with sauce. Dish was soupy and creamy, and 3) "Spicy Tamarind Whisky Sour." Only disappointment was shrimp skewers appetizer. Meager portion, undistinguished. I love this place. Reasonable prices. Easy parking and right off of 183.

The staff here is absolutely fantastic. All the hosts and servers were extremely friendly, kind, and attentive. I came here for lunch today and I ordered the spicy chicken banh mi and the chicken nuggets.

You must get their octopus skewers! It's a little pricey and came with 3 of them but the tentacles were crispy and the body was juicy and slightly sour with the sauce! I might come back just for that. I also tried the salt and pepper shrimp which was good and their OG banh mi. I like the pate that was in it.

The restaurant ambiance is cute and has vibes. They do have cocktails here & a happy hour. We came by to just get a Banh Mi because my husband was wanting something fast and small after another dinner we had. The service was great - fast and pretty quick. giving 3 stars because the banh mi was $12.. and didn't come with anything else. Super disappointed at pricing for what you get. Husband said the banh mi was good but Houston banh mi is still better. After several different asian meals we've had in Austin... Austin is not the spot for asian food compared to Houston food. If you've never had Houston asian food, I would say this place is probably the best banh mi in Austin.

Lunch : Friendly atmosphere with both tables and booth options. The service was great as well. We had the pork egg rolls, the Brussels sprouts, beef pho and OG bánh mì. Everything was really tasty. My favorite was the OG bánh mì. The pho had too many green herbs and not enough noodles this time around. I ended up picking some of the herbs out. Still very tasty though.

Mango salad is spectacular! The papaya with the mango was so refreshing! The summer roll was great as well, the peanut sauce was amazing too! Service was great! Khanh really took care of us well. The ambiance was very cozy and intimate! Loved it :-)

It's right around the building from chilis to go! For some reason gos took us to the tea place Inside super cute! Loved the decoration and the vibe Service was ok , nothing over the top nothing that was upsetting They were kinda slow,. Food I thought was really good had the sandwich and the freshness in the pork was outstanding with the flavor ! Extremely good n pretty Hardy The aïoli could of had more flavor Prices I felt were a bit high but fair for the taste Definitely will come back again

HIDDEN GEM. Everyone needs to come here. Came here for my coworkers birthday lunch and haven't stopped coming since. Service was great and the food was even better. On my first (and every visit after) I ordered the Shaken Steak Banh Mi. The steak in this sandwich is H.E.A.V.E.N.L.Y. Tender. PACKED with flavor and juicy. I regularly order to-go from the restaurant and it is always ready in the designated time. I have been recommending this place to all my friends and especially to those who live in the area. This is truly a place you have to go to yourself.

Before the food even arrived, we enjoyed being here. The ambiance is colorful and wonderful. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. And the music was great. We were even more elevated when the drinks arrived - not from the alcohol itself (which didn't hurt), but my wife's drink was a Ginger Cosmopolitan in a nice glass garnished beautifully with a slice of fresh ginger, and it was a delicious drink. I'll order that myself next time. I had a well-chilled 512 IPA, which I enjoyed. I didn't expect such a great cocktail and beer selection from a place that's known for its banh mi sandwiches, so this was a very pleasant surprise. The chicken wings appetizer was very nice, as well. It was served in a beautiful bowl and came with a second, empty bowl to hold the bones. It came with a tasty sauce that I normally associate with Vietnamese vermicelli dishes. The wings were crispy and meaty. Nice! For entrees, I had the OG Banh Mi and my better half, who is not vegetarian, ordered the eggplant, with no protein topper. Just a bowl of eggplant served over rice. That surprised me, but it ended up being a really great choice. Their "OG" version of the banh mi was mostly traditional, with cold cuts and pate, topped with carrot, daikon and cilantro. Two things made it somewhat non-traditional. First, they added a slice of pork belly (yum). Second, there was no sliced jalapeño on top. What? But they brought a jar of house-made chili to the table that not only added to the sandwich and eggplant, but it was so good, we bought a bottle to take home! The star of the banh mi was the baguette. It was perfect! But the star of the entire meal was my wife's eggplant entree. Oh my goodness! Again - we're not vegetarians, but it blew us away! This restaurant is on the side of the strip center close to Chilis. As we were leaving, we noticed all the people in the Chilis restaurant and actually felt sorry for them! They were steps away from paradise but ended up in purgatory, lol. We'll definitely come here again :-)

My boyfriend was craving bánh mì. Via yelp search, we identified Le Bleu as has some of the best in town. The OG bánh mì did not disappoint. Perfect bread, meats, and crisp and tasty veggies. We also tried the beef pho which was very tasty as well good portion/value. they have some fun cocktails as well as happy hour. Dessert was also great. We had an Ube tiramisu which our server told us the owner makes at home :-) Another great surprise was they make their own homemade chili hot sauce, which is delicious. Super friendly service. We can't wait to come back.

Le Bleu is a nicer Vietnamese restaurant that comes with good food but at high prices. My friend and I got the OG banh mi, and it was excellent. The bread was a perfected toasted texture, and the meat was delicious. At $12, which ends up being $15+ after tax and tip, it is very expensive for a sandwich. Your standard Vietnamese restaurant is far more reasonably priced. We got the spring rolls to share, which were $9 for four small half rolls of lettuce and shrimp. They were good although very leafy, and I liked the peanut sauce, but the amount of food for the price is not a great deal. The service was very good, and the servers were so friendly and upbeat.

Dishes are very bland if you're looking for Vietnamese food in Austin. Banh mi wasn't bad but their bun bowls are incredibly flavorless and half of your serving is just bean sprouts. Meat in the bun bowl was also very chewy.

Delicious Vietnamese spot! I came here late on a Saturday afternoon for a Bahn Mi sandwich and they did not disappoint. The bread was perfectly crusty, the grilled pork was flavorful and the veggies were delightfully fresh. I added a fresh young coconut to my order and was a happy gal on my way home. Parking is a bit limited but the staff was attentive and speedy. Check it out!

The service is absolutely terrible. Also the food was disgusting. There was a sour smell to it. Like it was rotten. Be cautious when you eat at this place there's something very wrong with it . the owners they used to have a food trailer on the east side of Austin. That had a disgusting rat problem. I guess the real problem was the owners

Incredibly awful. I just got by food from Uber eats and they burned the heck out of the meat, garlic and onions so it was totally bitter and inedible. This place went downhill. Whoever is cooking needs to be fired. Called to reach the manager and apparently the manager was "out". How can the manager be out during lunch time. This place needs to go out of business. Horrible .

The food is 4 stars and it's good. I had the Bò Lúc Lắc, and I doubt it was ribeye because it was stringy, but it was flavorful. My partner had lamb bun and he was happy with it. We started with corn ribs, which are tasty but the shrimp is undetectable. We waited a bit for someone to come by, although the place wasn't full. Here's the order of our meal: 1. ordered cocktails and food, 2. got water, 3. got the corn ribs, which are very messy, with no napkins (she brought napkins several minutes later), 4. got cocktails, quickly followed by entrees. Our table was covered and they didn't remove the dirty app plates when they brought the entrees. Striped shirt with an E on it appeared to be our server, but it was her coworker who rescued us from a crowded table of dirty dishes. We had the cocktails after we ate. They were straight up with no ice, and getting lukewarm. I guess striped shirt forgot to give our order to the bartender until I asked - the he wasn't particularly busy. Not the experience it should have been for $75 plus tip. Servers can have an off-night, but she forgot about us over and over. Please do better.

The menu is a nice mix of Vietnamese classics with French influences and the ambiance is a mix of modern and home-liness comfort. One of the staple dishes you must try is their Phở, which my roommate had and said this was one the best Pho he had. He's a traveler so he has been around the globe. For those craving something with a French touch, the banh mi sandwiches are a must-try as well! But the true star of the show is the impeccable service and warm hospitality of our waiter Khanh who took the time to explain the menu. In conclusion, if you love Vietnamese food, then you should come try this gem that deserves to be celebrated. Whether you're a food enthusiast or just looking for a nice dining experience, this establishment delivers.

What a convenient and delicious spot to grab a delicious lunch! Plenty of parking and a menu with great variety for all, I was very pleased with my experience at Le Bleu. They also offer both indoor and outdoor seating (limited). We split the summer rolls to start our meal with a refreshing bite. Comes with plenty of peanut sauce for anyone to dip in without feeling like they have to be stingy. Next, we split a Lamb Banh Mi and a Grilled Pork Banh Mi. The lamb was tender and had the slight gamey taste you'd expect, but it was subtle and well balanced with the seasoning and the fresh, julienned mango that it was dressed with. The Grilled Pork Banh Mi was what I hoped for. In my opinion, it may be almost as good as Kuway's! The bread for both sandwiches was soft and palatable, but still had the nice crust you'd hope for. My lunch companion tried the Vietnamese coffee and said it was too strong for her taste. The staff kindly added more milk per their request, but it was still overpowering for them. Seems like it may be for only the strongest caffeine drinkers. Definitely returning - the passion fruit garlic-chili wings are next on the list to try! 5/5

Delicious! First time getting to try Banh Mi and it was amazing. Also my first time trying the mango salad and I was not disappointed. The servers were great. So kind and attentive. Jael in particular was fantastic. Gave great recommendations and came back to fill waters and drinks the perfect amount. The ambiance was very cute and fun. Lots of nice natural light and bright colors. The drinks looked so unique and fun but I didn't get to try them yet. The food was delectable. I got the mango salad and the OG Banh mi. I had never had either before but was very satisfied and happy. I'm not the biggest fan of like a European style liver pate but this pate that was on the sandwich was amazing! It had nice warming spices in it which made me think of a pho broth which is quite pleasant. The pickled daikon and carrots were a nice crunchy foil to the soft pate and the chewy pork belly. The mango salad was also great! Sweet, spicy, sour, salty, all of the above! Very yummy and craveable. Over all very pleased with the food. I will definitely be back here to try the drinks and other food options. We were already planning when we could come back when we were there which is a great sign in my book! Again Jael was fantastic!!!

I believe Le Bleu has some of the best banh mi I've tasted in the city of Austin. Their grilled pork is super flavorful, their bread is fresh and everything inside was super tasty. But the important thing to note is that the food at Le Bleu seems a little more than what you would pay at a typical Vietnamese restaurant. High quality ingredients but at a premium. For example, you will be paying roughly $4 extra for a grilled pork banh mi here compared to the other competitors in the area. Is the extra $4 worth it, IMO only sometimes. Le Bleu also has spring rolls and summer rolls. I would generally avoid these for the price. These rolls are about $9 a piece and you are essentially getting two full size egg rolls split into two(equals to 4 pieces). Though the peanut dipping sauce was delicious, I think these are overpriced by about $4 dollars as well. Everything we have tried at Le Bleu has been great. Just know that all the food is priced at a premium. We might be back but it won't be our go to place for when I am craving banh mi.

Le Bleu has very tasty food. We have eaten Vietnamese food all over North America, Le Bleu ranks among the best few, My grandson loves their spicy chicken Bahn Mi whereas my wife loves to grilled pork Bahn Mi, Our son likes the Mango Salad, and the Tofu Bun best. I love their Summer Rolls. Garlic Butter Prawns, Lamb Bun, and the Eggplants dinner special. The Cà Ri Chay is delicious, Tonight my delivery order was mess up by a computer problem and by near closing nothing had been delivered, .... Le Bleu called me up and said they had taken the charge off our credit card. The staff member said that they had made the food and would bring it by, in ten minutes. This gained my complete loyalty,,,

Great food and great drinks. The Pho was delightful. I would head back the next time I am in Austin

Ordered an OG Banh Mi because of the high reviews and people online saying the banh mi is good. Never again. The pork patty was clearly previously frozen and thawed. The pork belly was dry and tasted like it was cooked a day or two ago and reheated? The veggies and aioli looked and tasted old. I got food poisoning that night. After two days of diarrhea, I can safely say I'll never be back.

Fantastic banh mi sandwich. We've been going there for years and never been disappointed. The bread is always perfect. I get the pork and it is always well cooked and perfectly seasoned/sauced. My wife gets the tofu and loves it as well. The vegetables are always fresh, never anything gritty or undesirable. The spicy carrots add that extra zing. We've tried a lot of other banh mi sandwiches around town and none live up to Le Bleu.

Yummmmm, I'm so glad I got a chance to try this place! I thought the grilled pork banh mi was excellent. There was a nice char on the meat. All the ingredients worked well together in a nice neat package. I also had some of the chicken nuggets, and those were fantastic! The meat was tender and well seasoned. The ginger and lemon added a nice balance and help cut through the grease.

Ordered the OG Banh Mi and It was so delicious. The bread was nice and crunchy and the sandwich was loaded! By far the best I've had on this area so far. Also, tried the Beef Pho it was just ok. They do use the thicker/wider pho noodles. A lot more expensive compared to other pho places so I was expecting more from it. Overall I'd definitely come back for their Banh Mi.

I would give this place a solid 3.5 if yelp had a half star option! We ordered the banh xeo and their OG banh mi. The banh xeo - 1/5. This is only available on their dinner menu after 5pm. A crucial aspect to a good banh xeo is making sure it is super super crispy. It was quite soggy which already knocked it down some points. It was also lacking the array of herbs that it typically comes with. They did provide slices of mango instead of carrots which was an interesting touch! Maybe I will try it out another time and see if this one was just a fluke. OG banh mi - 4/5. Pretty good but not very memorable. The bread was crunchy and the pate was tasty. Kind of steep price in my opinion, but pretty normal pricing for some decent asian food in Austin! Ambiance was quite nice and the server was attentive as well.

Yes, it is pricy for Vietnamese/fusion food.. but MAN is it worth it! Dropped by for a to-go order after a long day and was met with friendly folks and good food! We got 1 lb crawfish (add 2 potatoes for $1) and the summer roll. The crawfish was garlicky/citrusy/lip smackingly delicious. The summer roll (grilled pork patty, crispy egg roll, vermicelli, cucumber and herbs) was refreshing with the perfect crunch. I'll definitely be back for the banh mi's!

Love this place! One of the reasons I miss living in Austin... if you like Saigon le Vendeur on the east side, then you'll love le bleu since it's the brick and mortar version! Food is great and it's nice they do table service these days. We like the vermicelli bowls and don't skip on a fresh young coconut!

My favorite and go-tos are the banh mi and vermicelli bowls. If I'm in the mood for a banh mi, I'm partial to the OG because it's one of the few places that still include pate in it. Plus it's got fresh, crispy bread, the usual cold cuts and grilled pork. Le Bleu's vermicelli bowls are my favs because it's generously filled with protein, fresh herbs and flavorful add-in/sides. They almost feel like a salad grain bowl but with noodles.

Excellence in Vietnamese Food... This isn't one of those places where you are going to find a menu a mile long - it's limited (pho, banh mi, bun, and a few dinner thingies. oh, and appetizers), but what there is is all *excellent*. Like, *seriously* excellent - the kind that you keep coming back to because it's just that good. Add in some excellent cocktails, beer, and wine, and the result is that if the booths/tables were a bit more comfortable, you'd probably end up spending the best part of an afternoon/evening here... (Oh, I should mention, very friendly staff, who are always eager to help...)

Wow. I am presently eating the lamb banh mi. Holy crap. This might be the best banh mi in Austin. No joke!!!! Delila and Bryan were outstanding. Must visit!!!

I'm glad to see the Viet food scene is starting to get better here in Austin. They have typical Viet dishes like phở and vermicelli bowls. Their pho ga was flavorful and seasoned well, so I barely added Hoisin or Sriracha sauce in it. The beef was smoky and cooked well in the vermicelli bowl with plenty of veggies. Their cafe sữa đá was a bit too sweet for my liking.. wish it was a bit more bitter with less condensed milk. Otherwise I was satisfied with my visit! Gotta come back and try their other dishes!

Great casual spot for vegans! Loved the yellow curry with tofu and the pho with tofu. I'll have to try the banh mi next.

With a friendly welcome immediately inside the front door, I placed a to-go order for the OG BÁNH MÌ, which has Vietnamese cold cuts, pork belly, Pork Liver Paté, and fresh veggies on French bread. I chose to omit the pork belly (I'm not a fan of the texture), but I didn't miss it. Bottom line: I loved every bite! The pate is a MUST. It is a generous spread on this sandwich, with a slight kick of spice. You can have it added to anything you order for an additional $2, and you won't be sorry. The sandwich was in perfect balance: the bread was perfect --crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, but not too thick. The fresh, crunchy veggies (cucumber, carrots, jalapeños, and cilantro) were a perfect complement to the pate and cold cuts. I also ordered a side of their house made fish sauce to dip my bread in. Yum. They offer a cup of plain beef bone marrow broth (Pho Bò), which I found to be very tasty, if somewhat over-salted. I added some sriracha and hoisin (packets nicely supplied by Le Bleu), along with some Thai basil and cilantro that I had at home, which evened everything out deliciously. I look forward to exploring other items on the menu after this flavorsome first visit! Update: I already returned and ordered the Grilled Pork Vermicelli (Bun), with some added green mango (optional), and it was fabulous. The pork was delicious and tender; all the veggies crunchy. I definitely recommend.

Stopped in for lunch with some work colleagues, hostess immediately made room for our large party and was very attentive. GREAT SERVICE. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere. I had the spicy chicken Bahn Mi and it was great! The bread was a perfect bahn mi bun. I added the avocado and it was an excellent touch. For a spicy chicken it wasn't super spicy but overall a good sandwich. Would love to go back to try the pho too. Will be back to try more soon.

Highly recommended. This place kills. Everything here was excellent. Fantastic bowl of noodles and steak. Great taste. Very impressed.

I absolutely love this place and have been many times, figured it was time to write a review. Banh mi with grilled pork (10/10): grilled pork is flavorful and the pickled veggies are a perfect pairing. The baguette is soft, never stale, and crunchy on the outside. Add a fried egg, it is a great addition. Rice noodle (Bun) with grilled pork (10/10): delish! Same grilled pork they use for the banh mi sandwich. Fresh veggies that aren't browning. Vietnamese coffee (10/10): dark and strong, like it should be. Chicken wings (8/10) Grilled octopus skewers (10/10) Garlic butter prawn banh mi (8/10): there is a batter coating on the prawns and the prawns were pretty large so it was a little hard to get a bite where things didn't just fall apart. Shaken beef banh mi (8/10): very saucey so it made the bread a little soggy BUT it was very very tasty. Pho bo (10/10): served with birds eye chili so there's a NICE kick. Broth is earthy and rich.

We were craving for Vietnamese food and saw this place. Majority of the items were extremely salty. The egg rolls was meh... it was so salty... the pork bun was overly salty... only good thing about it was that the vegetables that came with it were really fresh.. the summer roll had like a very bright red color to it like they put heavy red dye in it. Was not expecting peanut sauce.. I was hoping for the original sauce that usually come with nem nuong.. But not peanut sauce.. it was lacking. Banh mi OG was actually the best thing here. The bread was soft and flaky. Strawberry lemonade was pretty good. I'll be back for the banh mi OG for sure!

The food was incredible! Excellent flavors. But sadly, the service was HORRENDOUS. Our waitress was so so rude, easily the rudest waitstaff experience of my life. Order it to go and avoid interacting with front of house staff.

A hot dog IS a sandwich. There, did I catch your attention? Good. I only want to talk about one thing - the shaken steak bánh mì. It is the best sandwich in town, hands down. Chewy, fresh bread filled with marinated cubed, tender ribeye, onion, perfectly crunchy watercress, tomato, radish...the sauce that collects in the bread is mouthwatering. It is always the same and always amazing. They do other things, like the sticky pasion fruit coated chicken wings, a bánh xèo egg crepe, or a green mango salad. Eventually I'll try the Cà Ri Chay yellow curry, eggplant dish or the lamb bún but so far, I just can't stop with that steak sammy for liiiiife.

Phenomenal Vietnamese food. So I live near Zilker Park and avoid North Austin like the plague. The traffic, the less appealing architecture, and The Domain (sorry, just not a fan). But I recently discovered a little gem that is located in an unassuming strip mall up north: Le Bleu. Let me tell you, it's worth every minute of the drive. I'd even be willing to go up there during rush hour. That's how good it is. Le Bleu serves simple Vietnamese street food, but there's nothing ordinary about the flavor and fresh ingredients..... and it's hands down the best Vietnamese food in all of Austin. It doesn't have the fancy, Instagrammable, ultra modern aesthetic that so many restaurants downtown have, but it's run by a family who genuinely seems to care about the quality of their food. On this one particular occasion (I've been twice so far), my friend and I shared the spring and summer rolls. The fresh ingredients paired so well with the peanut dipping sauce. I then ordered the Garlic Butter Prawn Banh Mi, which was just scrumptious. Soft, crispy baguette filled with prawns fried in a light corn batter with scallion-garlic butter, kewpie mayo, romaine lettuce, and radish. The perfect balance of flavors, texture, and not greasy whatsoever. I was also really impressed with their drink menu. I had a lychee cocktail which was delicious and not too sweet. And for dessert I had the creme brûlée, which was also quite good. I plan to come back again soon!

I've been wanting to check out this place since they're known for their banh mi! We came here on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't crowded. We ordered the original banh mi with pork and pate, and summer rolls. I ordered a side pho beef broth with it to dip with my banh mi. For my thoughts on the food, I would say it's not bad. The banquette for the banh mi was crispy and had the right texture when you bite into it. I am usually not a big fan of pate because of its gamey-ness but it tasted pretty good here! The pork filling though wasn't as original like the ones you normally see stuffed in your banh mi's (chả lụa, thit nguội , etc.) . They reminded me more of like carnitas meat. The fermented veggies were on point though. As for the summer roll, or nem nuong spring rolls, it was decent. I did like the pho broth a lot and probably would order a bowl of pho next time! Overall, I'd give this place a 4/5. I wouldn't say it's 100% authentic, because it had a bit of a fused twist to some of the things on the menu. The decor was nice and despite the low staff on waiters, they still are very nice and prompt with getting the food out and answering our questions/needs. Pricing was typical, the only thing that was a bit pricey was the $4 broth but it won't stop me from coming back!

I've been wanting to try Le Bleu out for a while (especially the crawfish)! Last time I suggested it as an option, it was ruled out because they only do to-go orders from crawfish. I think this is actually pretty smart since it keeps their restaurant clean from crazy crawfish messes. Crawfish - order was ready when I arrived to pick up. We got 8lbs for our family and it was packaged in a large tin container wrapped in foil. It was decently heat-insulated so when we arrived home, it was still pretty fresh. The potatoes, corn, and mushrooms had absorbed all the garlicky goodness of the sauce. If you're always disappointed by the lack of flavor in crawfish boil potatoes, you won't be here! Crawfish was fresh and you didn't get any of the baby crawfish you sometimes get in boils. The flavor was excellent - super garlicky, a little buttery, a slight sweetness, and a nice not overbearing spice. Plenty of garlic and sauce at the end if you wanted to top rice with the flavor. Tofu Banh Mi - we got two of these in case the crawfish wasn't enough. These were delicious, I've never tried tofu banh mi, but it was well done. Definitely looking to try again when the crawfish craving arises!

Yes please hunny! Their lemongrass chicken bun bowl is absolutely divine. Cold, crispy and flavorful on a hot summer day is just what I want. I also tried their Tofu bun which was equally delicious. The service is always amazing and has a very relaxing non hectic environment that is not often found in other parts of this town.

Le Bleu was terrific. Definitely a modern/upscale Vietnamese eatery. I went with some friends and everyone seemed pretty happy with their food. I split the garlic prawn banh mi & the OG with a friend and loved the prawns. The shrimp is lightly battered, kinda like tempura batter. It's not super garlicky, but each of the shrimps were large and juicy. The OG banh mi was pretty good, but my friend and I each found the thick layer of pate to be a bit overwhelming. Spring rolls were tasty, although the rolls weren't very big, each bite had shrimp and pork, so it was a win for quality over quantity. The mango salad was a refreshing mix of green mangoes and green papayas - something I hadn't tried before but the green mangos made it extra fruity. They also included a fried pork rind in there which added extra crunch and some balance to the bright, tart dressing. Altogether they use quality ingredients and it's a very tasty meal. If you go there, use the QR code to order rather than ordering online through their regular menu... Or you could be waiting extra long (it doesn't take very long for them to make the sandwiches and noodle bowl, 5 minutes per entree?, but the estimated pickup time was a generous 30 minutes)
