General Election 2019 | Food Guide for Campaigning in Richmond Park | Eater London

"Zone 3 is home to one of London’s best-loved gelato specialists, and whatever the forecast, it’s never too cold for a couple of scoops on the campaign trail. Richmond legend Danieli’s parlour on the Green is a Wonka-esque paradise, serving up every flavour imaginable, from pistachio and amaretto to ricotta-pear and marzipan with chocolate." - Emma Hughes

If you are looking for the ultimate hot chocolate experience in London, you need to find Gelateria Danieli. Tucked away down a little "hidden" alleyway (Brewer’s Lane), this place feels like a secret discovery away from the busy main streets. This isn't your average watery cocoa—it is proper Italian hot chocolate. As you can see from the spoon standing straight up in the cup, the texture is incredibly thick, rich, and velvety. It’s almost like drinking melted chocolate or a warm chocolate pudding. The taste is absolutely amazing: deep, not too sweet, and intensely chocolatey. Best of all is the price. In a city where luxury hot chocolates can easily cost £6-£8, getting this level of quality for just £4.50 is a steal. It’s honestly one of the most amazing hot chocolates I’ve had in London at a very affordable rate. Whether you grab a cup to warm up on a rainy day or pair it with their famous gelato, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Extremely popular chocolatier and ice cream parlour overlooking Richmond Green. Positioned alongside a charming alley and with a few tables out front this is a wonderful spot. I only wish that looking so premium they sold gelato instead of the slightly inferior ice cream (gelato has a far richer flavour and dense texture - it’s just more indulgent). If you found my review or photos helpful please leave a quick like 🩶 Thank you🍦

Perfect to have on a hot summer day. Pistacchio was delicious but dark chocolate gelato was too sweet for my liking. Two flavours in a cone was £5.50. As well as gelato, there was a large selection of chocolate to choose from.

Came here for the hot chocolate we saw online. It did not disappoint. Extremely thick and rich, almost too hard to swallow! Would definitely recommend trying.

One of the best hot chocolates ever. Almost rich and dark and thick. Excellent ice cream too. Very very much recommend it

I came here on a friend's recommendation and I'm very pleased. I said that I didn't know what to choose, and the lady serving was so wonderful and helpful. She asked me lots of questions about the types of chocolates that I liked, and chose 6 based on my answers. The chocolates were packaged beautifully and not too expensive (for luxury chocolates). This is a brilliant place to get a little gift for someone (or yourself!)

I paid 3 quid and waited nearly 30 minutes for a classic hot chocolate and wasn’t sorry! I’ll be back and yes, will join the queue again. 😋 There’s no greater advertisement than a fan line- it’s what caught my attention. I seldom opt-in to queue for anything in life. As I tried to gauge what all the fuss was about I noted occasional passersby with condescending looks-( my thoughts at first, “Who lines up for ice cream?”) As a tourist about town, I decided to shake off my judgment and join the fun! And let me tell you, for me, it was worth it.

Would recommend the pistachio and crema siciliana. 4£ for one scoop. Service was pleasant too.
