Came from Summerville to try this place out. Just based on the customer service alone I'll absolutely make the trip back downtown. Gary was so nice and helpful. Talked about the menu to us, took his time since he knew it was our 1st time there. He was the best 👌! The food was really good as well. I had gone to another establishment days earlier for a Philly and ended up leaving before we got our food due to the horrible service and getting a rock in our appetizer that we were told they would take off half... ended up not paying anything which was the only positive thing that happened there, anyways, I being in the FnB industry greatly appreciate how things are ran at Danny's. Can't wait for an excuse to drive downtown for another Philly. Thank you so much for the great food and excellent service!

I had an incredible experience at Danny’s Philly Steaks! The pepper cheese steak was absolutely perfect—packed with flavor and cooked just right. The carrot cake was a delicious treat, too! What truly stood out was the warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us like family, making us feel right at home. Plus, there’s plenty of parking, which is always a bonus. Don’t miss this gem if you’re in town—highly recommend!

This was so worth it. Everything was made to order, the service was friendly and even gave us suggestions for later. I got the Philly steak, and honey, got the fish Po Boy, and we both agreed it was so good. Well seasoned. Definitely a must visit.

I only got the egg rolls originally was supposed to take them back to my hotel they didn't make it out the door. I sat and ate them inside the restaurant and enjoyed a good conversation with the owners. Very loving and friendly. I definitely will go back just because they were genuine.

we just happened to pass this place on the way down town and it smelled great. on our way back we had to go in. we are glad we did. it's a small place but has plenty of seating. the philly cheese steak was awesome and everyone enjoyed their food.

First time eating here. Visiting while on business. The food here is great! If that wasn't enough, Gary is very polite and attentive. He remembers everyone's names and checks up to make sure everything is good. A big plus is that this location has a parking lot which is very difficult to find in the area. Definitely recommend getting the Philly cheesesteak!

Drove by this place many times. Decided to stop in with my kids before a show at the Gaillard center. I’m in Philly all the time for work and I can say these guys at Danny’s nailed it! Nice small dine-in area as well.

What a gem little establishment. The food is prepared and seasoned to perfection. I was inquiring where do the locals eat ? And no, not seafood. Looking for a good burger, sandwich or maybe a deli. Danny's Philly Steaks was suggested. After shopping or maybe a carriage ride ,take a stroll over. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic cheese steak sandwiches. Not greasy or fatty but quality chopped meat and onions cooked to a juicy perfection. Onion rings are crispy not floppy sad. Will be back before visit to Charleston ends, yes that good!!!!

The vibe at Danny Philly Cheese Steak was everything, clean, inviting, and family-oriented while still feeling professional. I was so caught up in the experience that I didn't even snap a food pic but, it was top-notch! I ordered the mushroom chicken sandwich and it was absolutely delicious, cheesy without being messy, generous portions that filled me up there and gave me another full meal once I got home. And the real win? Even after traveling three hours back, the bread wasn't soggy!

I walked up to the restaurant and the music was R & B old school so we knew this was going to be a good sandwich. If you're looking for the ultimate comfort food, this Philly cheesesteak is it! London does an awesome job with the Philly Cheesesteak!!The steak is perfectly seasoned and cooked to tender, juicy perfection, while the sautéed onions, mushrooms, and green peppers add the perfect balance of sweetness and savoriness. Every bite is packed with flavor and melts together beautifully with the gooey, melted cheese. Was in Charleston over the weekend and found this little place and was blown away by the service the atmosphere and especially the Garden Philly Cheesesteak. This was the best Philly Cheesesteak I have ever tasted. I'm a sauce guy but this did not need any help whatsoever purely delicious!!!!!

Tucked into this spot during a summer downpour and oh so glad we did! Shrimp is "on point". Lamb was very good as well. My favorite part was the ambiance from the GullahGeechie Tours owner! We were in the right place at the right time. Impeccable service, great food and dropped knowledge. Welcome back to Charleston!!

The service at this family owned company was nothing short of a delight. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by a husband and wife. They will give you a rundown on the menu if you are new and they are sweet! THERE IS FREE PARKING! The food was so good and filling, also not to mention this company makes most food to order so it's not quick but it's worth the extra 15 minutes. Additionally I'd like to add this company does not use seed oils in the food!

Killer Philly Cheese steak, great lemonade, friendly/helpful staff! Glad we popped in here for a late lunch. Wish they had free waters because we were thirsty from walking around but otherwise loved it.

I was driving by and saw the sign that said Philly Steaks and just had to stop in. I am from Philly and just cannot find an authentic cheesesteak since my favorite place closed. It has been disappointment after disappointment. Theresa was patient as I read through the menu and offered some suggestions. We had such a wonderful conversation as I was waiting for my order to be ready. I would go back just to talk with her. I got home and unwrapped what was one of the best cheesesteaks I have had in a long time. It is my new favorite. It was the perfect amount of steak and onions on a delicious Amoroso roll. The roll held the steak without getting soggy. The cheese fries were so good. The garlic parmesan boneless wings were delicious. I ordered way too much food, but the leftovers reheated so well. I cannot wait to try more items on the menu.

My sister and I are only in Charleston for 48 hours, and we needed to find a place where we both could eat (food allergies). She found Danny's online, and we made our way. We arrived and were immediately greeted outside the door. Everyone was kind and friendly. My sister got fried rice, I got onion rings, and we shared some mild buffalo wings. The onion rings were cooked nicely, my sister loved her rice, and the wings - so tasty! Pretty sure they brine their chicken because not one wing was dry. my sister also purchased a piece of red velvet cake for dessert. When she took her first bite, she said, "This is real red velvet." The restaurant is unassuming, and we actually drove past it initially. There's a familiar feeling when you walk in, like it's going to "your spot" when you're at home. It does take a minute to get the food, so pull up a chair and chill. It's worth the wait, and the staff will chat with you if they have a minute.

I have no ideas how my egg roll taste because it was burnt to the crisp. My first time trying this place.

Had the Fish Poboy and Cajun fries here. The restaurant has a few tables and each table can accommodate a small group of people. Fish is freshly fried although a bit dry. The spiced mayo sauce on the Poboy was spectacular. Bread is probably a hoagie roll instead of a French baguette. Cajun fries are well seasoned and crispy. Friendly staff. Near the waterfront. Nice casual atmosphere. Overall pretty good value.

Service is always great here! 10/10 highly recommend! Food is always hot and fresh! Best phillys in the Charleston area as well!

Everyone loves a simple, classic philly. Danny's is in the old Domino's building on East Bay; this is a convenient location (next to the Harry T) so you can pick up some odds and ends AND take out all in one run. What a menu! Wings, phillies, and even some Vietnamese dishes. We ordered the Pepper Steak. We loved the heat (jalepeno's), roll, and how tightly the philly was packed and easy to eat. We'd like to compliment Danny's on maintaining a reasonable price point in such uncertain industry times. And hey, Danny knows sauces! Check out the pic. Our main feedback would be to tidy up the dining room and bathroom. Yes, we understand that Danny's is mostly a carry out, business. While waiting for our order, we asked for some restroom "refills" and were ignored. Of course, we'll give Danny's (and his wings) another chance.

Happened upon Danny's while we were out walking. Stopped by for lunch after we visited the Aquarium. Food and service is top notch prices are fair and people are the best. Highly recommend. Its wide ranging menu is even vegetarian friendly.

Came back for round two and unfortunately the quality went downhill. It started when I called to place my order and the person on the other end wasn't sure how to place an order for pickup without taking the order from someone in person. Not such a big deal but they ended up getting the order wrong and we got small steaks instead of large which is a big difference. Then when I dug into the food, the sandwiches were so light on the steak... nothing like my last visit. It still had good flavor but the sandwich was probably half as full. The fries and onion rings were standard frozen and bland. Not sure I'll be back. It's disappointing becuase the first time you could tell there were some issues, but the steaks were really great.

I grew up outside Philly and comparatively it holds up! I would agree it's the best place in Charleston for a cheesesteak. It was also ready in less than five minutes! I look forward to trying some other menu items. It was expecting it to be larger for the price but it was still a descent size

1st of all I was excited about this restaurant because I thought I had found a reasonably priced sandwich shop downtown, NOT!! This picture looks just like the sandwich tasted. This was a small 8 inch & they didn't even fill it with meat. The meat was dry & hard & the bread was stale. Not only that but when I ordered on line my sandwich was supposed to be $6.43 and when I got to the restaurant and the price had changed to $11. This place is a dump, the food was nasty & I won't be back. To top it off this is the new management.

My meal was excellent! The customer service was excellent! The music was oldie but goodie and the restaurant was clean. I enjoyed this experience as it was my first time eating there. I ordered the whiting and shrimp combo with fries and a house salad...and when I say everything was fresh and looked and tasted wonderful...I ain't kidding'! If you want a great place to eat that will treat you and your food with care go to Danny's Philly Steaks they are GREAT! Oh...I forgot to write, they have Peach Soda...yummy!!!

This is the farthest thing from a Philly cheesesteak, coming from a native Philadelphian. Id try other places before you try this one. The cheesesteak was bland, dry.

I love finding little gems that are mom and pop restaurants own by family, especially when it's a random find. I was walking back home from the post office, when I came across this local gem that has been open for 2 years. I was hungry and the big sign that said Phillycheese Steak caught my eye. I guess, I also wanted a little piece of the north(I DON'T MISS IT THOUGHT). So, I ran across the street and walked into this kind of NY deli type style spot(NY slang for a place to eat) and was greeted by this man who was very personable and hospitable wearing a NY Yankees T-Shirt who had that southern draw when he spoke. I was sold! I told him, I recently just moved down here from NYC, and that I wanted a basic phillycheese steak. There were a few different options on the menu and me being who I am( very indecisive) told him what would he have. He to express he's simple and likes a basic Phillycheese steak. I responded with me too! He responded with ok, want me to make it like I make mine? I responded with HECK YEAH!!! And he didn't disappoint at all! Brotha man, cooked up something so simple but it was so tasteful. And for me that goes a long way. I don't need frills and thrills! Just make sure it's seasoned and we are golden! He did just that! It was seasoned so well, with the Basic ingredients of a phillycheese steak including the well darn seasoned steak, the melted not over powering of cheese, cooked onions and a warm roll that I'm sure was buttered! I threw some ketchup on my sandwich and it was perfection! As, I'm loving down this sandwich, little did I know I was having the pleasure of chatting with owner who also made my killer sandwich is, a 24 year old native of the pineapple state. The business is ran by him and his beautiful mother. The way they both made me feel welcome, was so beautiful and appreciated. All to say this is a must try! If you want something delicious and flavorful and quick. Go visit this gem I definitely plan on returning with my friends that first me from up north, as well as local! Btw, I did get wings! But that deserves its own post!!!! I'll do that at a later date!

I highly recommend this local restaurant. Great people work here: excellent service and delicious food! They really take good care of you. Plus they have parking, which is such a plus in Charleston. Wonderful place!

This was the best Philly Cheese sandwich I've had in a long time. It was juicy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of cheese. My husband got the chicken cheese sandwich, and he loved that as well. We came here after going to Fort Sumter. I highly recommend this wonderful place!

Wonderful true family affair! Mom at the front, son (with a chef's background) in the kitchen and Dad dropping by for support. This is the American Dream in action and these people are making darn good subs to boot! Quality ingredients and a great vibe permeated by old school R&B groovin' in the background. Best spot in town for a terrific bountiful sub and good vibes! AND FREE PARKING!

This place is honestly a hit or miss. Twice that I've ordered delivery on Door Dash, they've gotten the order wrong.

We got off the Ft Sumter ferry and were walking back to our hotel when we stopped in. Really friendly people - and delicious food. We had the mushroom steak sandwich and onion rings. This place is worth finding and family owned.

Order delivery thru grubhub. The food was good, however we received the wrong appetizer. Order corn nuggets and received cheese curds.

The owner was quick to ring up the order and personalize it to us. The place was a hole in the wall, not a tourist trap. It had phenomenal food though and plenty of options for the whole family. I highly recommend it. The mushroom Philly was my favorite!

I went to the Harris Teeter and decided to grab dinner in the area and decided to walk into Dannys after passing it on the way back: Best. decision. ever. Not only did I end up finding the best philly cheesesteak in Charleston (so long Jersey Mikes) but I also met two of the nicest people in the city. I chatted up Chris and (Theresa? I feel so bad I'm blanking on your name) and they were so nice and friendly. I will definitely be coming back.

Delicious food at family friendly prices! We needed an affordable option for our family of 6 before we visited the aquarium and Danny's was perfect. The food was delicious, the portion sizes were generous (should've had the kids split plates) and everyone was super friendly. Favorite items were the chicken tenders, wings, and onion rings. The Philly cheesesteak was missing peppers but it was still really good! Would definitely go back next time we're in the area.
