This is one of the few times 5 stars is not enough. Everything about Dano’s was better than excellent! We ordered the schnitzle (gluten free), goulash, spatzle, red cabbage, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut for our main course. Each dish was spectacular although the goulash stole the show. For dessert it was braised pear and strudel. Both delicious but the strudel was amazing. The mulled wine was also great! Service was impeccable. I only wish we got there earlier to see the sunset and the lake.

Google
Had an absolutely incredible experience at Dano's. We did a chefs table dinner shared with the four of us. Incredible beer, cocktails, and of course stellar food. The spreads, breads, sausages, schnitzel, salads, everything was amazing. We were so lucky to enjoy the sunset on the back patio. We are so sorry that we forgot our servers name, but she was absolutely incredible and treated us so kindly. We hope the staff enjoyed the wine we brought along to share.

Drove here for 40 minutes from Ithaca on a Saturday lunch with my friends. The exterior of the restaurant gave me a very good first impression, especially the entrance and we got the outdoor seats. The staffs were effectively fast response and super friendly also they gave us a heads up that the offered menu is authentic Austrian food which was why we went to Dano's in the first place! The foods were all delicious, I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel – the taste was super clean and the hint of salt on top of the crunch enhanced the flavor even more. My side dishes were Spätzle, a small noodle with eggs which was okay so I saved it with a bit of salt and pepper, and seasonal veggies to supply my daily intake of vegetables. The vibe was super nice as we could see the beautiful Seneca Lake from the outdoor :-)

Google
Amazing Eastern European food, wine, and ambiance outdoors. We shared three dishes and enjoyed them all, as well as the Austrian dessert we got. The wine is well priced and amazing! Highly recommend!

Google
Amazing lunch! We got lucky because we didn't make reservations ahead of time (we just happened to be in the area) and they graciously made room for us on the outside patio. The food is incredible and the folks who work there are very nice and accommodating. One of the best meal experiences we've had.

When you are in the Finger Lakes and have a craving for Austrian or German style food, make your way here. This is an excellent restaurant to get your grub on. Their schnitzel and red cabbage is amazing. They have a charcuterie board to die for. Apple streusel is a must. The wine list is as if you were in a winery on the Danube. Get here for the sunsets, get a glass of Riesling, and relax and enjoy.

We walked in on a Friday night as we were visiting the area. The service was very good, prompt and friendly. The food was very authentic!! The view was amazing and thank you for a lovely dining experience!

Google
A dang good lunch stop while visiting some wineries! They have both indoor and outdoor seating options as of September 2020. We called ahead to make a reservation, so I recommend doing that! My mom and I ordered mugs of house wine, I ordered the Remembrance Farm Fields Greens Salad, and my mom had 3 of their spreads (artichoke lemon was definitely our favorite!). Really sweet staff and service was decently quick. Wonderful views from the back patio seating area. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Delicious flavors that transported me back to memories of when I was stationed in Germany! Make a reservation! This a quaint restaurant and fills up for weekend evenings fast due to the amazing quality of the food being served. Our party of 4 dined on a night they had Jazz on the patio and enjoyed an amazing view of the sun setting over the lake.   We started our meal with a sampling of three of their spreads accompanied by their home made basket of bread! On this visit we tried the following meals; Farmers plate (smoked pork chop topped with pork belly, knackwurst, sauerkraut and knodel), the Wiener Schnitzel with red cabbage and spatzle, and the roasted pork! Everything was absolutely delicious!   Even though we were full from dinner, we had to try their desserts and sampled the strudel and torte.   One thing we all commented on was we were never rushed during our visit. We were made to feel like we could take our time, relax, and just enjoy our visit.   I highly recommend Dano's if you are in the Finger Lake region.

Yelp
Went here while staying nearby with my friends. I ordered the beef goulash special that was supposed to come with root vegetables. It tasted nothing like goulash but exactly like beef chili, when I asked where all the veggies were they said they were ground up in the sauce. The linzer tart was pretty good for dessert, nice crust. Service was super slow from waiting awhile to be seated, to waiting a long time to be noticed to order and the food took a long time to get to the table. Seemed like they are understaffed or not use to being full on a Saturday night.

Yelp
View is amazing. Food was so good I ate everything and finished it. Try the sausage sampler after going through some wineries. Best alcohol soaker. Catfish was tasty and fresh. My fiancé had the schnitzel and he said it was smooth as butter to cut. Service is amazing and most helpful. I had to order the sachet torte plus one to-go as it was the main draw for me to come. Come tonight coz they are not busy. Unheard of! Lovely view! Amazing view. Great people. What more can you ask for a lovely Friday night.

Yelp
Oh my gosh... I don't know how I had never visited this restaurant before. This is truly a gem of the finger, lakes and not to be missed. When we first pulled up the exterior was a bit offputting, and we wondered where we had arrived. And then we got to the front door... The majestic front door... Opening the door to the amazing interior of the restaurant was just the start of a fabulous lunch. The staff was incredible. And food spectacular. Definitely worth a day trip from Rochester or Syracuse!

Yelp
Phenomenal food, service, and ambiance. I've been here once years ago and wanted to take my husband. It's Austrian food, which I had never had before visiting, and I fell in love with the spices, fermented foods, and spreads. We brought our parents back another night, and they raved about their food. They both had the catfish sandwich and loved it. My husband and I stuck more to the traditional fare and finished all of our food each night. Try the goulash, but you can't go wrong with anything. The pork was also tender and a fav from the bento box. Farm to table and made to order. Homemade desserts were also top-notch! If you're looking for something unique, definitely stop in for dinner. We view the lake and the lovely setting.

Yelp
Always a must-visit when we go to finger lakes. Austrian style menu and of course great wine. Beautiful sunset views.

Yelp
Food was outstanding, kitchen was accommodating to dietary restrictions and swapped out things for us, servers all so sweet pleasant, view was beautiful, highly recommend!

Yelp
We walked in to find a woman (later finding out the owner) who just said, NAME? No greeting whatsoever. She walked around 2 minutes then told us, FOLLOW ME. Sat us and didn't say another word. Our waiter came over for a drink order after sitting for quite some time. Service was slow, waiter could not multitask. He would continually walk past our table without looking or asking if we needed another drink, etc. otherwise we enjoyed our very long meal, over 2 hours!

Yelp
Beautiful view, great ambiance, perfect service, delicious food thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for a sophisticated meal not far from Watkins Glen, this is an excellent choice. Cold poached salmon with cucumber was perfectly cooked and perfect for a light summer evening. Husband had wienerschnitzel, also awesome. Ask for schlag (sweetened whipped cream) with your coffee! We had the Mohr torte for dessert & loved it.

Yelp
Coming from a home with an Austrian Mom, who is a great cook, it's difficult to hit the mark for me with this cuisine. Dano's certainly did!! After a day cruising Seneca Lake our party of 8 arrived for an early dinner on the patio. With 3 children in our party our server recommended family style for our group. What a revelation. She proceeded to bring all the apps on the menu, each of which were excellent! In particular the smoke trout was a hit even to those who weren't fish fans to start. After our apps, main dishes and sides were brought individually. The pacing and portion size were perfect to share and persons was able to hone in on their favorite! From Wiener schnitzel to homemade wurst, each and every bite was delicious! I'd highly recommend any large party enjoy Thule dinner this way. The meal was effectively billed ala carte, and an incredible value for a meal of this quality! Service was impeccable, setting beautiful and food amazing! What more could you ask!

Yelp
Great menu if you want to try a bunch of different Viennese bites. Lots of veg friendly options. Come with friends who like to share. Everything was good, the views of the lake from the patio are even better. Friendly staff. Worth checking out if you've never been.

Yelp
Food, service, ambience was all very good. Unfortunately, we have learned that it will be closing by December. We will try to make it back before you close for one last time.

Yelp
After visiting one of my favorite wineries, Silver Thread, we were hungry and looking for something good to eat. Literally around the corner, Dano's came up so we decided to check it out. Nice building, large patio, beautiful views. Reservations suggested we arrived at 4 on Saturday and Patio was full as was the restaurant by the time we left. Not rushed at all we were able to enjoy our food and conversation leisurely. Opening the door we were greeted with the most amazing smells that brought me from hungry to starving. A la carte menu makes it easy to pick and choose. We decided to share a charcuterie plate and added the most amazing homemade focaccia I have ever eaten. There were two pate one beef with pickled onions and one made with chicken skin and carrots that were very good on the fresh made grain bread and baguette slices, smoked pork loin was tender and flavorful. Hungarian Chicken wings blew me away with flavor and tenderness. Dill pickle slices, cheese, mini spiced pickles, and an amazing Riesling mustard were wonderful accompaniments. The cured Belgian ale sausage was a treat. There are many options the bento box served nearby looked very good as did the Farmers Plate piled high and my pick for the next visit.

Yelp
The woman who hosted us at her AirBnB used to work here and suggested we visit even though we otherwise planned to cook at 'home'. I'm glad we followed her recommendation. The view from the outside patio is amazing, but my husband wanted to eat inside due to the heat. We were the only patrons inside, and I think there was about three couples spaced out on the patio. Seating is very limited right now so reservations are an absolute must. The current routine is calling when you arrive and being brought in to sign a tracing form and use hand sanitizer. The menu is Viennese food, which has a lot of overlap with Bavarian food. My husband and one of my sons each had bratwurst. It comes with this great dijon mustard I'm pretty confident you can't find at the grocery store. My husband also had a burger, which had a very distinctive flavor (in a good way). I had baked chicken with a slight kick to it, seasoned mashed potatoes, and spaetzle, which I probably haven't had since I was a child. It was all great, but I devoured the spaetzle. My other more finicky son ate a bit before we came, and just had the bread basket. Fortunately it had a lot of sour dough for him. I'm otherwise not a fan of bread from that region. The other heavily seeded bread reminds me of German bread. It's authentic, just not our thing. Service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. It very much feels like fine dining without the fine dining price tag. Our drinks were great, too. My husband said it's the best Manhattan he ever had. I had something called a Caywood Cocktail that had limoncello, St. Germain's, elderflower syrup, and I think a splash of bubbly. It was very refreshing and perfect as a palette cleanser. We only dined out once during our trip, and I'm glad it was here.

Yelp
Fantastic experience - delicious food and ambiance. Not the fastest service but that is actually a plus here. We were able to enjoy the evening in a very special place.

Yelp
Dano's deserves a review that doesn't even have words, just explanation points and emojis. On my first visit I was obsessed with the dips and salads. I didn't quite know was salsify was but was determined to try out. A description I read saying it has sort of an artichoke flavor is reasonable enough. It was great, as was the pumpkinseed oil dip. The celery root was exotic on paper but the sauce perhaps covered up some of its celery rootness. The main course was the three-meat Farmer's Plate, including the spectacular pork shank. For my second trip I didn't feel the urgency of outsmarting (all the other) tourists so went with the Yelp-approved Viennese Bento Box. A smaller pork shank turns up here, along with a knockwurst. Other highlights of the box include the liptauer cheese bread, and in a restaurant full of intriguing meat options, even the vegetables are great. With this remote, rustic setting I wouldn't want to drive too far late at night, but the sunset view is dazzling.

Yelp
I love this restaurant because it has great food, great location overlooking Seneca Lake, great sunset views, and excellent friendly servers. In July, when we visited, we chose the slightly warm outdoor covered terrace rather than the very cold air conditioned indoor dining space. The indoor space is very attractive, modern, with very high ceilings and beautiful contemporary artwork. Our server Laurie provided exceptional service, but the entire staff was welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend the sweet homemade strudel dessert. The day we visited the flavor was apple rhubarb. I believe they rotate the flavors that are offered. We also ordered the mohn (poppy seed) torte, since we are huge fans of poppy seed cakes, but we found it a bit dry and not that sweet. I would not order this again, although I did finish the entire portion, so it must have been good enough. I followed the advice of other reviewers, and on my way to be seated, I passed the deli showcase and studied the salads and spreads available for purchase. I spotted fresh, delicious-looking poached salmon, so that is what I ordered as my main course, along with cucumber dill salad and potato salad. All three were delicious, but both the cucumber and potato salads were vinegary, so I recommend not getting those as your only two sides. The bento box entree seems to be popular and looked great, since there are a wide variety of different dishes in the box. That's likely what I would have ordered had I been a meat eater. Thursday nights there's live music dinner time. Check the schedule online. It was outdoors on the terrace the evening we visited and we enjoyed it.

Yelp
My wife and I love to come to Dano's any time we are in the finger lakes. Their food is excellent every time and they have authentic Austrian/German dishes. If you consider yourself a "foodie" I would check this restaurant out. The wait staff is very helpful with food recommendations and wine as well.

Yelp
We ended up here randomly because our second option after Solera, Scale House Brewery, was closed for a private event. This place actually ended up being quite upscale, authentic Austrian cuisine. The kids had the currywurst sausages. I had the goulash with spaetzle, which was good, but the spaetzle was not seasoned, yet the goulash was too salty. So, they worked well together. Our friends got the chicken and they raved about it.

Elliot H.

Yelp
Good food, great service! and the ambiance was amazing. i would recommend the schnitzel and their farm fresh spreads.

Yelp
Excellent! Reservations a must! Sat outside for lunch! Service was courteous and nice - explained menu well. The food was super and very flavored. The presentation of food also was good. Would overall recommend highly when on lake Seneca! Perfect

Yelp
This restaurant has a nice view and light music. I like the sausage and the European food here. Be noted that the service is kinda slow because here is an Europe restaurant.

Myriam H.

Yelp
This place is ridiculous. Half empty restaurant and would not accommodate my family for a meal. Sorry but if your establishment is reservations only it needs to be on your website. Incredibly surly manager and staff. I would take my business elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
Came for dinner with my girlfriends. We are not super familiar with Austrian food but we enjoyed the meal. We shared three dips - lemon artichoke, red pepper and liptauer. All were yummy and the different breads were great. Two of my friends got the chicken schnitzel which they liked okay. I had the 1/4 chicken with cauliflower and mashed potatoes. It was good but the real star of the entrees we ordered was the stuffed green peppers. Great flavor. The ambiance was great and the staff was friendly. We wished it had been warmer so we could sit outside and enjoy the sunset views over the water. Maybe next time.

Yelp
Dano's is a beautiful restaurant with a garden, an open dining room and a beautiful patio. This is classic Viennese food. We opted to sit inside for some AC as we were outside all day. They were taking COVID seriously which I appreciated. We started off with three spreads and a half bread basket. Gorgonzola, roasted red pepper and horseradish walnut. They were all delicious and very spreadable. The bread variety was delicious and paired well with the spreads. The weinerschnitzel was great, but my goulash did fall flat on flavor. It needed some salt and more depth. I love love loved the buttery spaetzle and braised cabbage. One more thing of note, they are adding 20% to all checks. I totally understand why they would be doing this and I am on board, but a heads up would have been appreciated...

Yelp
It was a beautiful summer day, 75-ish degrees, and we arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon, not normally the busiest time of day. We requested an outside table but were told that no outside tables were available for unreserved guests. We chose to eat inside, our waiter, Brian, was outstanding, the food was delicious. We couldn't help but feel so bad for the establishment because apparently all those reservations they had for the outside tables never showed up. Outside tables remained empty for the entire hour and a half that we were at the restaurant, no one came to claim them. We would have so very much enjoyed an outside dining experience, but those mystery people who filled the reservations list for the outside tables prevented that from happening. Just know, whomever you are, that your lack of consideration impeached on the enjoyment of others. PS. This would have been a five star review except for the rude hostess who wouldn't let us eat outside.

B L.

Yelp
Probably one of the most delicious serving of food I have shared with my wife in my life. Gorgeous views attentive staff and gloriously prepared food. All local products including drinks and the strudel!

Al C.

Yelp
We went to Danos on a Friday night. We made reservations a day in advance. Unfortunately, there was no outside seating available but the hostess did check for us anyway. The inside was pleasant and every table has a view of the lake and sunset. If we go again we'll try a less busy time so we can sit on the patio. The location is really spectacular. They had a decent assortment of local wines and beers as well as some Austrian choices. Be sure to try the bread and spreads. The tapenade and hotel sucher were quite tasty. We enjoyed both the Vienna bento box and the farmers plate. The portions were large and the bento box had a wide variety of things to try. We were too full for dessert but they all looked great.
google avatar

Margaret C.

Yelp
We went on a pretty busy night. Like everywhere else, Dano's is understaffed. Even so, the service was good and friendly. The cocktails were interesting. My Wiener schnitzel was nicely done. Everyone was happy. The lindzertorte was hard rock hard. And I wouldn't do an after dinner drink again. But overall a very nice meal and the patio is a great place for letting kids run while waiting for food
google avatar

Alexander B.

Yelp
Wow what a night! A Taste of Vienna FLX on Saturday evenings is one of the most creative things I've been to. You get one of everything on the menu and each dish is fabulous. View of Seneca Lake complements the scrumptious Austrian food and drinks.

Foodie S.

Yelp
The stars aligned for us and we had a pretty perfect dining experience at Dano's. They were busy, so service was a little slow, but it didn't matter to us as we were in it for the long haul and enjoyed a beautiful summer dining experience on their outside patio. Everything from the weather to the vibe/look of the restaurant to the delicious food to our helpful waiter, Will. All fantastic. We started with the soup of the day - which might sound boring (cream of tomato) but it was anything but boring. A vibrant red with so much flavor! It was a perfect start to the meal. For dinner, I had the goulash with spaetzle. This dish was incredible! The sirloin chunks were incredibly tender with tasty root vegetables making an appearance. The sauce had such an incredible depth of flavor. The kind of flavor you get with a skilled cook letting it stew slowly for hours. My spouse (with Will's help) opted for the Farmer's Plate. A meat lover's dream that was thoroughly enjoyed. Save room for dessert because they are houemade. We split a red raspberry Linzer Torte that was a great ending to a perfect dining experience. Thank you to this hard working crew! It was evident to us that you all put the time in to make your restaurant shine. We had a terrific experience!

Yelp
This place offers a unique variety of food in a gorgeous setting. The view is relaxing and we managed to catch the sunset, which was beautiful. Inside had a great ambiance as well, it's a perfect excuse to change from your hiking clothes to something chic. They offer a variety of refreshing cocktails and a good beer selection. To share, we got a variety of cheeses- which were delightful. It was a great appetizer to share. In addition, I ordered a fish plate. Everything was fresh and it worked so well together. It made the perfect meal. To be honest, I still think about the wonderful time I had here. We look forward to coming back here next time we are in town.

Yelp
Oh Dano's.. what a dissapointment dinner was. Such a great reputation but on a busy Saturday night the service was poor and the food was subpar. Who ever heard of dry goulosh ?!! My guess is that they were swamped and it spent too long under the heat lamp. This being said, we had a great time and I would just chaulk this up to being a bad night. When in the area I will try this place again
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
We had three small dishes with the farmers entree of meats and dumpling. Half a bread basket was perfect for us. They are a very nice staff and make you feel safe and comfortable. Definitely going back soon!
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
My five stars are for the desserts and coffee. We came from another place where we had lunch and decided to have dessert here. The funny thing was that my wife led the way for the four of us and when she tried the front door it didn't budge and she said, "it must be closed." Odd, it was the middle of the day and lots of cars out front. I then tried the door and it opened. It's just extremely heavy LOL. The outside is nothing to talk about, but inside the decor is modern, lots of glass and a great view from the deck, which is where we sat. I can't comment on the other desserts, but my bread pudding was the best ever. Coffee was perfect. Next time we'll come for dinner.
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
We were so smitten with the food here. First off the horseradish spread and tomato soup with the bread basket were all amazing. I ordered a vegetarian entree and my husband ordered the pork. Mine came with a fresh salad that was very local and delicious. The pork melted right off the bone. Came over sauerkraut that was delicious. We ordered a dessert of pound cake with a cherry sauce and cream. So good! Local wine and well made cocktails after dinner. And then there was the view! Amazing. The inside of the building was also unique. Great service too!!! All around great experience. I wish I lived closer, I would def go back.

Milton D.

Yelp
Went last night and I must say the service was fantastic. I hadn't been in years and was surprised to see reviews here with negative commenting on the service. Our server (didn't ask her name) was great! In addition to doing the things a server should do (explaining options, staying connected and checking in) she also took the time to clarify/confirm things in the kitchen regarding our daughter's food allergies. I believe she said she has a child with similar allergies. Great to have a server that is genuinely friendly. Not only was our server great but I noticed there were plenty of staff doing a great job of keeping all the tables happy. They also worked together in helping each other with tables that weren't "there's". Everyone (including the woman mentioned in earlier posts) was working hard and as welcoming and friendly as can be. Great food, great service.
google avatar

Justine S.

Yelp
Every single local we asked for a dinner recommendation suggested Dano's. They did not disappoint!! Beautiful sunset view, great service, good wine list and (while I have nothing to compare it to), great Austrian fare. Had just as much fun deciding what to order as we did eating it. Also, my favorite part--their kitchen opens up into their garden which they use for their farm to table menu. Great all around!
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant as I enjoy Austrian/German food. It has a nice setting with a view of the lake. It was a bit of a strange welcome as the waitstaff met is outside the front door to make sure we had reservations, which we did, but they had them under the wrong name. So she proceeds to tell us that we need to wear our masks in the restaurant even at the table when wait staff is at the table, oh and you must use some of their chemicals to sanitize your hands. We were given a nice table by the window which I appreciated. A young lady approached the table and was very friendly and kind but requested we wear our masks while she was talking to us.... She explained that it's not law but they require it in their restaurant. So we dutifully donned our masks while talking to wait staff . We tried to order the spreads and salads but were told we need to order everything together so they could better control the flow of food. We ordered the Liptauer spread which was okay, cucumber salad (very good)and farm field salad (a little to healthy tasting for me). For our main dishes we ordered the Wiener Schnitzel - which was tough and chewy - the breading was falling off the meat and the meat looked wet so I'm not sure if it just came out of the freezer or what? I didn't finish that. I got a side of braised red cabbage and spatzle. The red cabbage was delicious but the spatzle was tasteless and not worth eating. We also got the Farmer's Plate which was good. The smoked pork was delicious on the outside with a good smoked flavor but the taste faded and it got drier as you got deeper in the cut. Overall a good dish that I can recommend. So, starting at 5 stars, I dropped 1 star for the disappointing Wiener Schnitzel and Spatzle and another star for the draconian mask requirements. (It made it uncomfortable any time wait staff approached the table to see how we were doing because we felt guilty for not having a mask on while eating. I wish them the best as they find their way through the flu season.

Yelp
Such a beautiful spot off the beaten path. My husband and I stopped on a whim driving through and were pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. The service, food and drink were phenomenal. I felt like I was back in Germany!

Yelp
Well worth a drive to enjoy delicious food with a view. We decided on a Sunday dinner and took a leisurely drive going south from Geneva. Even in late fall, the countryside along 96A and 414 is varied and for the most part scenic, although you can't always see the lake. Dano's is not impressive from the road, but once inside you are in a modern dining room and greeted by an Austrian desert case! Whoever makes the cocktails knows what they are doing as the house Manhattan and horseradish Bloody Mary were done well. We decided on a small bread basket with some great artesian breads, enough to take home. Our entrees were the half chicken and the Wiener schnitzel. Sides included a potato casserole with leeks, Brussels sprouts, spätzle , and red cabbage. All rated thumbs up. Unfortunately, no room for desert. Prices are in tune with a destination restaurant, not inexpensive, but you can do it for less by getting a bunch of spreads and appetizers to share. And if you have a designated driver, there are many full bottles of wine to choose from, more economical than by the glass.

Yelp
One of the best meals ever -- food was delicious, setting spectacular, lovely service. Can't wait to come back!

I had a wonderful time there a few years and heard it changed ownership, but thought I would give it a chance. My recent experience was a complete 180. I worked in the service industry for years and give a lot of wiggle room for servers, but this was a super weird experience. They were half empty, but we waited extended periods for everything. Even a drink took twenty minutes. They brought me the wrong entree and not even an apology. The waiter actually acted like I messed things up and was rude and passive aggressive. If they had even offered a free coffee/desert just a gesture it probably would have been forgotten, but felt like we were treated poorly for bad service and the food was mediocre . I love the ambience and view and was looking forward to returning, but won't be back after this last time. Also very strange that they charge for bread if you order a spread.

Yelp
Service was slow and the waitress was rude. Not an inviting environment, don't recommend.

Yelp
i was part of a visiting group of 12 last night and we had a wonderful meal at Danio's. The low rating is from the horrible service we received from our waitress. First off we weren't allowed to have separate checks. Second was the long wait for her to return to serve us. We were there for 3 hours! Most of it was waiting for her. When we received the final check the total was to be divided up by us and mind you there were service charges, tax, and a mandatory 20% gratuity fee in there also. It is a shame we had to end the meal by doing administrative tallying to handle our bill. Especially when we all felt that the mandatory tip of 20% was not earned. People, our food was great but my suggestion is to only go in a small group.

Yelp
Been to Danos twice with friends and super yummy each time. The building is very unassuming, beautiful little veggie garden in the front (want one at my house). Once inside huge windows that look out onto Lake Seneca. Interior design is modern and slick (without being off putting). We sat on the back patio today with our 2 kiddos (3 & 4 years old). It was great as there is a large lawn for the kids to run on and get out their energy. We knew it would be great when we saw a few other families w kids outside too. Food was fantastic. We ordered 4 spreads + bread as appetizers. Artichoke lemon, pumpkin seed + 2 others (which I can't remember). Lunch: Viennese Bento box- assortment of pickled cabbage, cucumbers, sausage, pork and a side of bacon sauerkraut. (Split between 2 adults and 4 year old). Salmon Herring Burger All was super tasty, even though I didn't collect info from the other diners:) Service was leisurely, but I do not think it was bad. It is not a restaurant that you stop for a quick bite. You stop for good food & conversation (put away the phones!!!!)

Yelp
excellent! beautiful view with distant outdoor dining- i got the vegetarian bento box that came with bread from a local bakery. Such an interesting array with everything tasting delicious especially the eggplant. My husband got the wiener schnitzel with spatzel and mashed potatoes which always also excellent. They had a great local wine and beer menu. Overall very happy with our food and the measures they took for covid.

Yelp
This is my favorite Finger Lakes restaurant. It features excellent Austrian food -- their Austrian Bento Box is inspired -- great desserts and a wonderful view of the lake. And if you don't mind the sun, outdoor seating is great. I've probably eaten there and half-dozen times over the years and have never been disappoinated.
