Everywhere They Eat in ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot ‘And Just Like That’ | Eater

How to Stock an at-Home Bar | Eater

"Currently ranked No. 1 on the World's 50 Best Bars list, this establishment emphasizes style as much as technique: the head bartender advises choosing barware that is both functional and attractive so tools can be displayed on a bar cart to "put on a show" for guests. The team prefers coupe glasses over V-shaped martini glasses for their practicality and elegance, and encourages stocking a variety of bitters to experiment with cocktails. Overall, the spot projects a sleek, presentation-focused cocktail culture that values aesthetics, thoughtful garnishes, and approachable yet refined service." - Maxine Builder

Brand Ambassadors Decide Your Favorite Cocktail for You | Eater

"A noted cocktail bar where bartender Stacey Swenson, a Campari advocate, warns that large liquor companies and their brand ambassadors can steamroll the market by pressuring venues to choose certain products, disadvantaging smaller brands; she emphasizes that personal relationships and big budgets can influence product selection and that this dynamic can reduce genuine experimentation behind the bar." - Jaya Saxena

We were a bit disappointed in our experience here. It is unquestionably a high end restaurant, with some real high points like the green spaghetti, and my entree, the lamb shank was very good. The service was top notch. The soup was salty though and they have a salad with a soft lettuce that I think is called butter lettuce. The leaves of the lettuce are uncut. They are about 5 inches around and are very floppy. You kind of have to eat them whole because there isn't a good way to cut them. So you look like you are stuffing your face with a giant leaf almost the size of your own face. I returned one of my drinks (a hibiscus tea concoction). The first one was perfection, I ordered another which came out very different and overly sweet. I believe this is the first drink I've returned in my lifetime. So three strikes, at what should be one of the best restaurants in town.

Google
upscale spot with creative dishes . it offers a chef’s tasting menu, standout pasta, and a top-tier wine list. Perfect for special occasions or foodie nights out. Great service, cool vibes—totally worth it . Reservations recommended!

We had a lovely birthday dinner for my boyfriends birthday! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Almost all the dishes were delightful! We tried the tasting menu, and overall we enjoyed it. However I have three complaints about our experience. 1. The steak dish was OKAY. Nothing overly special, it felt like the most underwhelming dish. 2. The dessert was incredibly dense and heavy. The cake seemed old/hard. The palate cleanser was actually more enjoyable than the main dessert. I honestly would have been happy with that AS the dessert. 3. The cocktail list was strange? Every cocktail I tried wasn't my favorite. Thats probably just a ME problem though. I just didn't find any of them appealing to MY personal tastes. However all the fish dishes were wonderful, especially the starter. The pasta dish was also one of the best bites! I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was very very good! I'd definitely recommend trying the tasting menu, it was a very enjoyable evening. Our server and host were fantastic also!

Google
Phenomenal experience. We came for Valentine’s Day and did the 5 course tasting menu. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and creative. All of the staff members were so friendly and our waitress Benita truly made our evening special. We were told the tasting menu changes weekly so we will be back!

Finally had an opportunity to try Dante. Blown away by the food. I was very impressed with the quality…better than most in the Cleveland area. Looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes or the tasting menu.

We were given a gift certificate for our 25th anniversary from our dearest and close friends. It was the best gift! The experience was wonderful from the moment we got here. Seamus was attentive, hospitable, and engaging, yet not intrusive. We were given time to really relax and enjoy our dinner. The food is an experience in itself. It was delicious and so unique. Things and flavors you might not think to put together were masterfully done in a way that made your taste buds sing! Every dish we had was amazing! We will be returning!!!

We had an amazing experience at Dante's Restaurant during our menu tasting, and Aaron made it even better! His service was top-notch—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. He made sure everything was perfect and took great care of us throughout the meal. A special shoutout to Hale, who prepared an incredible duck dish that truly stood out. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and you could tell it was made with skill and passion. Overall, the combination of excellent service from Aaron and outstanding food from Hale made for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Dante's Restaurant, and as always we'll be back.

Google
Dante is the best food spot in Cleveland! My husband and I had our reception in their Next Door space last year. We went back tonight to celebrate our one year anniversary and the staff made it so special. They reserved the back vault for my husband and I and we felt spoiled. From the service to the food - everything was intentional and excellent. I highly recommend going here - not only for a meal, but any celebration you have. It is amazing!

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our 10 years anniversary this week and we came to Dante! Atmosphere was cozy and warm. I love the chandelier and the candles. The hostess was so welcoming and had a beautiful smile! I was worried about how to dress but some people were very well dressed and some people were in a hoodie and jeans so I was never uncomfortable! We ordered the experience with wine pairings. Before you get started they will ask about allergies, preferences, and if there is anything you wouldn't want to eat. I decided I didn't want to eat octopus. You really need to put some thought into this because I did not expect to actually be served octopus. The service was impeccable! Everyone that came to our table was so determined to make our experience the best one they could! It was all hands on deck in the most calm way! Our waters were never empty! The bread was filled, they always came to check on you to see how the next course was. Just WOW! Next time We come I will be getting a huge steak and I am so excited!

Yelp
Came to Dante for our anniversary and we agreed it was the best meal we had in Cleveland! We got the chef's tasting with a wine pairing and it was a superb experience. Each dish was so unique and delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and so special. The wine pairing came with 5 generous pours - we were glad we did not drive to dinner!! Highly highly recommend Dante's for a special occasion and a fun night out. Expect to have a 2+ hour meal if you choose the chef's tasting.

Yelp
I had a wonderful time at Dante. Let me start off by saying how awesome the service was. Our waitress was very helpful, patient, and sweet. She was always available in case we needed anything. We started off strong with the Hawaiian tuna tartare and the carnaroli risotto which we both really liked. I am not normally a risotto person, but I can tell you this dish just may have transformed me. Next, we got the main dishes which were the linguini alla carbonara and the swordfish. Though I liked the carbonara overall, I will say it was a bit soupy. Not the best carbonara I've ever had, but tasty! This is a great place for a date night or a special occasion. They have many different plates you can taste or go for the entrees as we did.

Yelp
This restaurant was sooo incredible, definitely Michelin vibes (although there's no Michelin restaurants in CLE). Both dishes were amazing but the polenta literally altered my brain chemistry. Restaurant was gorgeous, dimly lit, with a giant cellar that they use as a private room. Service was thorough and waiters gave excellent food and wine recommendations.

Yelp
Nice to get back to Dante - excellent dinner. No resting on the laurels here, at all. Sat at the bar early - super lively scene. Great to see Paul back behind the bar - he and Chris make up maybe the best bartending duo in the city... Line up was the tuna tartar - really good but Dante Michael Mina is calling from San Francisco and says "Quail Egg!!!"... foie gras amazing as always... then we had the polenta with lamb confit the cassoulet... both were great but the latter especially good We are so lucky to have this gem in our metro...

Yelp
I never expected a Michelin Star restaurant in Cleveland of all places. The portion sizes are an expected size of a fancy restaurant: small. They also don't offer to-go boxes for leftovers, so prepare to finish everything you're served. I had several courses. All of them were above average. Excellent dishes all by themselves. The foie gras was the highlight out of all the courses. I wish some of the courses would be sold individually. Some of the courses I could've skipped. Make reservations. Dante does not take walk-ins. Besides, the same chef also opened a pizza restaurant that constantly has a line out the door. So I'm glad Dante is a reservation-only place.

Yelp
I was pleased by the beautiful presentation of each dish. The handmade pasta and every plate I was truly impressed and everything perfectly cooked. The service was attentive and our waitress was very knowledgeable making recommendations. The ambiance is a great combination between casual and upscale.

Yelp
I was very excited to have dinner at Dante while I was in the area. I have heard wonderful things and it definitely lived up to my expectations. As always I called beforehand to see if they could work with my allergies. Then I booked a reservation. First impressions, wow is it loud. It wasn't even a very busy night. We were sat at a small table in the corner overlooking the street. Which added to the ambiance. Our server greeted us promptly. She was friendly and explained the menu. Appetizers - I ordered the Hawaiian Tuna Tartare. The Tuna was impeccably fresh. I loved the dehydrated olives. It was a good dish but for me it definitely needed some acid to cut through the fattiness of the Tuna and the Remoulade. Once I added some lemon it was even better. Crispy Calamari and Shrimp- My husband ordered this. He loved it. I tasted it as well and would definitely order it next time. He loved the marinated Shiitake mushrooms which he thought took the dish over the top. The breading was not overly thick and the Calamari was tender. For dinner we opted for Pasta. Due to my restrictions I ordered the Carbonara and he ordered the Bolognese. We both decided to go with the Main size portion. In hindsight we should have inquired about the portion sizes beforehand as it was much more than we could eat after the appetizers. Great for leftovers though. Next time we will order the Appetizer size. Linguini Carbonara - Not a traditional Carbonara which was surprising. I expected it to be. This was a Cream Sauce. Very rich and decadent. Pappardelle Bolognese - Looked Delicious. It tasted delicious my husband said. He loved it. Most Bolognese sauces don't wow him so I know it must be good if this did. They have a nice a Wine list. Which included a NZ Sauvignon Blanc. My favorite. The beer menu had a good selection as well. Definitely a great experience and wonderful food with fresh ingredients. I was grateful they were able to work with my Allium allergy. Thank you again to the Chef. My husband gave it four stars, which is shockingly impressive for him. We would both gladly return next time we are in town.

Yelp
Anniversary dinner with the chef's tasting menu. Stuffed, delicious, attention to detail. Worth the time and money. 5 course chef's menu that detours from the regular menu and we are so happy we went this way, every server we interacted with was kind, light, and knowledgeable about the dishes. Wasn't busy at all for a Thursday. Interior is beautiful, I believe it was an old bank?

Yelp
The ambiance was great, I really enjoyed the music, and thought the restaurant was aesthetically pleasing. Our server and busser were both fantastic, very attentive and friendly. The food was WOEFULLY BAD. We ordered the tasting menu and holy hell it was terrible. Our first course was a beet and cucumber crab salad. All the flavors clashed, we couldn't taste the crab and the cucumber flavor overpowered the whole dish. 2nd course was a Ramp Pasta. Best course by a mile. 3rd course was a tiny piece of cod, no sauce. Couscous and some sort of tapenade. There was no inventiveness in this dish. It was black and lacking any flavor or thought. Cheap fish, cheap dish. I really couldn't have been more disappointed with the fish. Steak was 4th course. Served blue, which while I like but most people do not want their steak raw. It was fine, nothing special. A steak you could easily make at home. Last course was a dessert chocolate pistachio mousse cake. I thought this tasted good, I didn't get any of the pistachio notes, but at this point I wasn't holding out much hope for the food. Luckily we ordered the Hong Kong mussels and they were great, as well as the bread. I would recommend going off the normal menu if you come here. Feels like a Sous or line cook put these dishes together. The dishes were a complete miss. I am visiting Cleveland, but if I were to return I would not come here.

Yelp
Top notch restaurant with amazing food, decor and service. This place was awesome, we arrived early and they seated us anyhow, which was nice. Service was top notch, very attentive, polite and helpful. The food was amazing and they also have good sized portions. We ordered a number of apps, entrees and then the desserts and for the table of six, everyone was really impressed. The desserts were a work of art!! The ambiance in the restaurant was nice, beautiful and the A/C worked really well. (It was uber hot during our visit to Ohio) Pricing was good too. I wanted to do the tasting menu, but it was a whole table experience and we had a picky eater with us. LOL. Definitely worth checking them out, I do not think you will disappointed.

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary dinner. Easy to make reservations online and got something only 1 day before! No parking lot because Tremont and entrance is very inconspicuous but I knew where to look because of Gingko. Waitstaff were very attentive! Almost too attentive! Like, let me get the chance to evaluate my food before 3 different people ask how it is, lol! I was nervous about the portions but they were not terrible! The appetizer size was reasonable and the tasting portions of their pastas were all not bad! We were easily full without having to order a crazy amount. The complimentary bread was really good and I'm picky about Italian bread. They even gave us free sparkling wine to toast to our special occasion! I got Prosecco and BF got sparkling lemonade. Space inside was arranged kind of awkwardly though. It still looked like a bank with cubicles and sectioned off areas. You can sit in a vault!

Yelp
I throughly enjoyed eating here. I will have to say that I've been to many restaurants and by far this is on my list of top 5 restaurants I've ever dined at. To start off I had the chilled oysters and and crab rangoon spring roll, for my main meal I had the pheasant meal , which was roasted breast and braised thigh, parsnip purer, marjoram , savory vegetable pot pie. Which was amazing. This was my first time having pheasant . And it was cooked to perfection. The pot pie was amazing. I never tasted anything that amazing. Our waiter was phenomenal, they kept our water cups filled and very pleasant. Made sure our table had what we needed. Even though I was full beyond words. I pushed myself and got the Carmel Bourbon Cheesecake, and it was phenomenal. Best cheesecake I have ever had. I will have to honestly give this restaurant a 10/10. This was definitely an awesome, amazing, dining experience. Restaurant was beautiful.

Yelp
Although known for their 5 course tasting menus, we decided to order individual entrees instead. We started with the Salad of 7 Vegetables, which was fresh and dressed perfectly! However it was topped with chips, which was an interesting choice. I loved the option for "tasting" portions of the pastas. The pastas and risottos came in three sizes: tasting ($9), appetizer ($18), and main ($27). On so many occasions, I would like a sample of something on the menu, but not a full meal, so this is a great concept! Especially for someone wanting to try multiple things (or knowing too much carbonara would hurt their stomach). For my main, I ordered the Monkfish Piccata ($40), and the chef was able to prepare it for me without any dairy! This was extremely nice, and I appreciated the extra effort going into the dish. The fish was good, but I wish there was more lemon flavor. Even a lemon on the side to squeeze over top would've given the meal an extra flare. I'm not sure if they were running low on dishes or just overstaffed, but multiple waiters asked if they could remove our plates (an excessive amount of times) throughout the night. They asked if they could take the bread, starter salad, and even drinks when we were not finished with them. Hopefully this was just a one-off situation, because it got a bit awkward repeating "no, we're still eating" many times.

Yelp
Nothing has changed. Absolutely everything was wonderful! The facility, the service, the wine, the food... Just marvelous. Just reread my previous review and that's what this visit was like. Consistency... I love consistency.

Yelp
The polenta surprised me - absolutely delicious!! Overall great experience. Attentive service and delicious food. So many vegetarian options I actually couldn't even choose! In terms of taste: Cocktails- 2 - a little too sweet for my liking Grilled zucchini salad- 3.5- solid salad. Light flavors. Loved the greens on this but could have used just a tad bit more flavor. Polenta- 5- excellent savory and filling option. The grueyere made this dish Sweet corn ravioli 4- so beautifully balanced with a mix of flavors and textures!! Main entree of braised leek- absolutely superb! That's why I gave the five star rating. I have been so bored by the usual food options and was pleasantly surprised with the flavors and combinations in the vegetarian entree dish. Excellent service: we were celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary so they started us off with some complimentary champagne.

Yelp
Went for the 5 course meal (gluten free) with wine pairing. Decent, but nothing amazing. Smoked salmon appetizer was the highlight. Pork cheek mushroom risotto was not - flooded with oil (why?) and risotto was undercooked. Pointed the oil out to the busboy but received no response. Also, meal was not fully gluten free as I was having issues when I returned home that lasted through the night!!! Wine pairings were also poor. Update- received a wonderful call from manager. We went through each course to confirm they were GF. Nothing resulted from the discussion, but I appreciated the call. Raised my review accordingly

Yelp
Amazing salmon and mushroom ravioli. Carbonara was mid. Great portions. Worth every penny.

Yelp
Second time at Dante, first time doing the tasting. It is worth the price, though it is expensive. I would recommend the wine pairings as well. The food is truly unique, thoughtful and delicious. The service was excellent with knowledgeable wait staff, and I liked the very slow pacing of the dishes. Cute space as well. Will definitely be going back when we can.

Cathy I.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the 7 vegetables salad and the stuffed tomato. My vegetarian entree, leek and rice strudel, was also delicious. Everyone seemed to like their entrees and the service was impeccable. My daughter and I split the dessert tasting menu. We liked the chocolate tres leches cake, but found the pistachio danish disappointing. It was tough and lacking flavor (we couldn't taste the goat cheese or pistachios!). Our third choice was the artisan cheese selection which was supposed to come with toasted pecan raisin bread, but instead came with plain bread. I'm sure we'll be back, but we'll skip the dessert in the future!

M R.

Yelp
Great food, service and ambiance. I went on a weekday for dinner with friends. I started with the salad of 7 vegetables which was delicious and enough to feed two people or make it a meal alone. I chose the pappardelle bolognese for my entree....again delicious! Lunch was awesome the next day!
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
Food and service was great. I really did enjoy the food. However suggest being overly clear on any diet restrictions. I ordered the vegan tasting menu and I told them I was a vegan but will eat fish. (Should have just left it as vegan) Waitress acknowledged but to my disappointment I was served ricotta ravioli which I gave to my husband. Other dishes were fine but suggest being extremely clear. I was surprised for this price point and having a vegan menu option of the confusion.
google avatar

Leah H.

Yelp
Walk with me past the bar, and wander into the kitchen to the romantic wood lined back room... the wine list is fantastic, cheers to their importer! The waitstaff is attentive and friendly with just the perfect amount of polish. Scott our waiter was lovely. We tried all 3 of the new spring menu pastas as well as the Porterhouse for 2. The mascarpone pasta is ridiculously delicious, I would eat this everyday! For deserts we had the banana torte... reminiscent of a bananas foster with a dash of chocolate. Full bar for after dinner drinks... Macallan 12 neat is always a good choice. Highly recommend Dante.

Yelp
Came here for a small bachelorette party. Upscale ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating. Servers were knowledgeable and helpful. Took a bit long to get food to our table but not too long. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. A table favorite was the Linguini Carbonara which was so very creamy and flavorful. It was like "Last meal" good. Food was a bit pricy for the portions but great quality, so just be aware of that. Would come here again for special occasions.

Emily Z.

Yelp
High expectations, high sodium content. A little disappointed to say the least, after hearing such good things about it. The service was great, but we went on a slow Tuesday night where our waitress only had one other table. The amount of times our water cups were filled clearly indicated how salty the food was... we had the calamari, parppadelle bolognese, and the duck entree. Did not care too much for the hummus that came with the focaccia bread, but the bread itself was nice with a good crust. The container it arrived in was difficult to reach in and take out each quarter. Onto the calamari: I enjoyed it, but this was over salted. The creamy spicy mayo had a nice lemon/acidity to it that I was not expecting. Each piece of calamari or shrimp was just too salty! Then the mushrooms were unexpectedly sour. Hard to pin down the flavor, but they were both sour and salty. Saving grace for me was the green onion garnish to refresh the palate. Bolognese smelled of Chef Boyardee but in the best way! Nostalgic scent for me. A touch too al dente in some pieces but overall it was a classic dish done well. One interesting thing to note however... I usually never think about spoon shapes, but this spoon was weirdly too narrow at the end. When I pulled the spoon out of my mouth after a bite, the edge would feel too small -- like it was curved prematurely. For a decadent dish with such wide noodles, you want the spoon to have a wide circular shape to accommodate the mouth feel. The duck dish was one I did not eat, however I sampled a bit from my partner. It should be noted that the entire bottom layer of the dish was beans... quite filling but overwhelming. There is a tasteful amount of beans to be had in a dish, and this overshot it. Overall, I am interested in trying again. The guitar pick included at the end receipt was a fun trinket and a nice touch to the end of a night.

Yelp
Dante's just keeps getting better every time I go...a true culinary gem. Not to be outdone, the service is fabulous, the wait staff is so full of knowledge. Make a reservation, it's a must if you don't want to wait for a table to open up. Everything is fresh and well imagined, the flavor combinations are perfect. From the drinks, fresh oysters, the fresh catch or the filet, you cannot go wrong. We sat as a party of 5, ordered soup, salads, oysters and a few bottles of wine, it was perfect. I know I should give details, but you have to trust me, make a reservation, take your servers suggestions and you will not be disappointed, the food is answering. As I end, I'm getting ready to book brunch reservations because their yogurt parfait is that good!
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Excellent professional and polite service for our group meeting. Amazing pasta carbonara with egg yolk that burst into creamy goodness over the delicious hot pasta. The salmon was cooked with perfect juicy fish under a crispy delightful skin and was atop mushrooms and a delicious sort of herbal avocado purée. Everything was plated beautifully as well. High quality food at a very classy establishment every time I come!

Yelp
Wonderful chefs table experience! The chefs table allows you to sit in the kitchen and watch the action unfold. Best seats in the house. The staff is so professional and lovely. The food was amazing. It's a wonderful experience to watch the kitchen do their thing on a busy Saturday night. It takes about 2-3 hours.

Yelp
Dante is fantastic! I'm in love with the food here. Made a reservation for Friday evening and the person assured me they'd be able to accommodate my current dietary restrictions. They seated us promptly even though we had arrived early for the reservation. The risotto is probably the best I've ever had and don't even get me started on the fois gras. Service is par none, multiple people asked to ensure our food was perfect. For being such a fancy place the portions were plentiful and we left satisfied and full. Took my wife here for our anniversary a couple months back and they gave us complimentary wine for the occasion! A very nice touch, thank you Dante and your amazing staff!!

Yelp
This place was amazing. We went there for my Birthday dinner. Everything was perfect. Our Server Scott was very atentive. He made this more than a meal. He made it an experience. The portions we huge which made for a good lunch the next day. We sat at a table in a vault which has a real cool ambiance.

Yelp
By far one of the best restaurants I ever been to! My husband and I decided to celebrate our 1year and it did not disappoint. We tried the 5 course experience and was amazed by the food that was brought out to us. Our favorite was the salmon and gnocchi pasta. Definitely recommend trying one of their cocktails for the experience. We will be visiting all of Dante's location now!

Yelp
This is my fist time back at Dante in several years. The food was very good and I really like the option to get small portions of meals if you wish to try out several menu items. The server was good but slow. This may be a restaurant issue as I experienced the same slowness other times. The risotto was fantastic as was the mushroom crepe. I was very impressed with the Redfish meal as it had lots of flavor and the small shrimp were delicious. I do wish the menu had a few more entrees to choose from.

Yelp
Oh. My. God. This place truly puts every other fine dining restaurant in Cleveland to rest. We came here for a birthday and reserved the vault ahead of time did the chef's five course tasting. Everything was so mouthwatering. Anthony gave us Michelin-star service every step of the way. Course 1: hamachi crudo with some apple, and other perfectly paired accoutrements Course 2: a tomato and garlic white wine perfectly Al dente pasta with shrimp Course 3: redfish with bismati rice, mango purée, and some other tasty stuff Course 4: scallops and parsnips (again, I'm missing some details here) Course 4.5: in-house made grapefruit sorbet palate cleanser Course 5: some unreal pistachio-y dessert that I can't even describe with another in-house made made sorbet Worth every penny and then some. Truly. And they change the chef's 5 course every 2 days AND always make sure every course is something not offered on their regular menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Not what expected! Limited menu and not the best of food taste! Small dining area and service quite slow!

S G.

Yelp
Love this place for a date night. My partner and I have been twice now, and both times we had the tasting menu with wine. The servers are very knowledgeable about the food and describe each course in great detail! The wine pairings are quite good and sometimes surprising. The food itself is spectacular and there is always something that blows your mind. The restaurant is small, and can be loud but we enjoy that kind of ambiance. It is expensive but well worth it if you enjoy fine dining. Looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
AMAZING experience at Dante. The food was amazing. We sat at the Chef's table, watching the team at Dante put together amazing dishes.

Yelp
The food and service were nothing short of incredible. Suggest the various tasting items, which were quite large, but it gives a good sense of the kitchen's talents. We were originally concerned with what to wear, sadly west side Cleveland prevailed, as we saw t-shirts, Hawaiian shirts and very casual wear. Extra credit to the kitchen for home made pasta noodles. Demerit to the management for 2% credit card transaction fees despite not using a credit card. It felt like being robbed without a gun, or a really tacky money grab you'd expect at a Shibley restaurant. Valet parking was $10 + tip. Reservations recommended. They had two mens/womens rooms upstairs with single toilets and staff said there was also a bathroom downstairs.

Yelp
I came here on a Valentine's Day date with my boyfriend at the time. I think I was most blown away by the service -- it was a very busy night and we hadn't made a reservation because none were available that day, but when we went, they were able to squeeze us in at a bar seat. The bartender was really funny and friendly and actually offered me a drink for free because he had made it by mistake for another customer (I gladly accepted the free drink). The food was pricey, but the ambiance in the restaurant is very upscale and the food was good so I'm not surprised. We had oysters with a very interesting marinade that I've not tasted before (was my first time having oysters so didn't have anything to compare to but I really like it!!). We also had a 3 course pasta dish, and a meat dish that included fois Gras (also my first time tasting it -- the menu states it is sustainably and ethically sourced so no force feeding of the animals they get it from; I thought it tasted TOO rich actually but my date really liked it and said it was great fois gras). Just to add on - the bathrooms were very clean and the hosts/hostesses were also really nice and remembered us after we left during the wait for a table to hold the seats when they were ready. Would definitely eat here again :)

Yelp
Brought in by family because this is one of their favorite restaurants in the area and let me tell you it did not miss a beat! I have to say is was undoubtedly my favorite meal from all the places I tried while visiting. I don't even need to waste any time trying to describe the food because the photos speak for themselves. When I return to Cleveland another reservation is a must.

Yelp
love the taster, app and entree sizes on the menu! spaghetti was the favorite of the night (and great leftovers too!). Staff was kind, attentive and knowledgeable. salmon was good but a little too sweet for my liking. will come back to try more things!

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, and it was good! We had a 6pm reservation, and the restaurant didn't really start filling up til 6:30 or 7, so it was a good time to go. The ambiance is trendy, dark, and intimate, great for a date night. I started with the Up in Smoke cocktail, and my husband got the Great Lakes porter on the menu. We both enjoyed our drinks, just know that the beers are not on tap, so no samples! For food, we split the Hawaiian tuna tartare, the foie gras with rum glazed donut, the pork belly with polenta, and the striped bass. The tartare was good, nothing too exciting, the foie gras was okay but the components all together didn't quite make sense, and we both really enjoyed the polenta and the bass. The desserts we got, the ricotta cheesecake and the apple cake, were both just okay. The food was solid, and our server was super friendly and attentive. Our only gripe was that we specifically told our waiter that we wanted each dish staggered so that we could finish each dish before being served the next one. He assured us they could do that, and we still got served dishes before we'd finished our previous ones, so we just felt rushed. We probably would've ordered another dish and more drinks if we didn't feel so rushed. Overall, solid meal, pretty good service. And honestly my husband and I are food snobs so I wouldn't take my complaints as a reason not to go, definitely check Dante out, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Beautiful gem of a place in an old bank located in historic Tremont. Gorgeous ambiance, food, and service! Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We got the tasting experience with wine pairings. Worth every penny.

Yelp
Amazing culinary scene in Cleveland's teeming neighborhood. My wife and I came in early 5 o'clock and ate at the bar. I still had the same exquisite meals that others had at the table with the reservations made weeks ago excellent wait staff knowledgeable and happy to recommend dishes if you have questions.

Yelp
We had a large party for a couple of birthdays and although I have been to Dante before I've only had the kitchen experience. We arrived at 7:30 and from jump Street it was a painful experience to endure. We have a party at 12 you don't assign just one server to it. Now I realize people may say blah blah covid listen we're two years into this we should figure this stuff out by now. Large parties are often understanding especially when places are short-staffed but in no way shape or form should it take 25 minutes to get a drink. While we're waiting for our initial round of drinks I took the opportunity to look around the place. It appeared to be about 60% occupied. Our server was nice enough and seem to be a little Hasty in her step, but there were other servers lounging and drinking coffee which infuriated me because clearly are water glasses ram-t our drinks were empty and it just seemed like not my table not my problem. Generally after drinks you can take an appetizer order which she didn't want to do until the drinks were delivered which was odd to me. My friend wanted the mushroom soup and for some reason it took nearly 40 minutes to get a cup of soup out to the table. We've managed to get up to three rounds before she took our dinner order. By that time we were pretty well ready to eat. But it was weird it was almost like she was avoiding our table. We were finally able to order about 8:30. We had kept asking for some bread or something to nosh on and it finally came out. The dinners came out about 9:45. Of course at this time the restaurant was just about empty we couldn't help but wonder where the heck are food was. Overall the pasta Bolognese was my choice and was actually pretty good save for the chunk of wood that I pulled out of the sauce. I don't know what it was hot and where it came from and at this point all I wanted to do was leave. Overall I enjoyed the pasta which was the only saving grace but an imminent return to Dante is probably never going to happen.

Yelp
I started off with the oysters which were quite fresh. The sauce that was on it was overpowering the taste of the oysters in my opinion but the waiter was amazing and he got me a plain oysters with lemon replacement which was wonderful! They accommodated me and I really appreciate that. The blue crab soup was really good as well! The favabeans in it were the best I've ever had and I usually cook with fresh favabeans that I take out of the pod myself. I had the red fish as my main entree and it was tender and just lovely! The only complaint I had was the the sauce it came with was a touch too sweet for my taste but probably perfect for the American palate. The avocado tempura was the perfect texture with the crispiness of the light breading and the creamy richness of the avocado inside. The daikon and cabbage were fresh and delicious as well! I'd come back here again!

Yelp
Honestly I did not recall being that impressed when I first came here 5 years ago. But I'm glad we gave it a second chance this time! We came here for Valentine's Day; the service was excellent despite the busy night. We decided to forgo the Valentine's special. Instead, we splurged for the seven course chefs menu. No regrets to be had! The menu does fluctuate depending on the chef/ingredients so it's unlikely that the same courses are offered (see pictures). All in all, everything we had was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend coming - and check out the tasting menu if you can!
