"Astoria has a new farm-to-table restaurant in the form of the intimate, precise Daphne downtown. The brainchild of Chef Jake Martin — who’s known for his work as the executive chef for Adrift Hospitality out of Long Beach, WA — and his partner Silquet Ra, producer manager at the North Coast Food Web, the kitchen knows local food. It does particularly wondrous things with vegetables, appealing to the eye just as much as the palate. Expect a blend of classic technique and fresh takes on Pacific Northwest upscale cuisine. A recent dish showcased yaya carrots, sliced and splayed almost like a brilliant orange pine cone atop circles of carrot top pesto. A 3-course prix fixe menu is easier on the budget. Reservations are recommended for the warm, wood-paneled dining room with midcentury modern styling." - Jennifer Burns Bright, Alex Frane

I absolutely loved the dining experience at Daphne. Our server was amazing and was so helpful with recs for our appetizer and main course. Every dish was amazing and felt very clean and fresh. They had a fantastic wine selection we really enjoyed. I've definitely saved this spot to return to. I've also recommended this spot to friends and coworkers when they're at the coast

I can’t express just how good the food was. We eat at a lot of restaurants and this is the best we have tried. Heading back again this week for more. I had the chicken and my girlfriend had the salmon. They were both incredible. A+++

Daphne is an absolute gem in Astoria. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and every dish felt thoughtful and beautifully made. I had the chicken with morels and potatoes—it was rich, perfectly cooked, and honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. You can really taste the care in the ingredients and execution. Perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a special night out. We’ll definitely be back!

Last night, for my birthday, I went to Daphne with my husband. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. The staff was absolutely wonderful, taking the time to answer our questions and offer personal recommendations. The service was exceptional—my drink was always full, and plates were promptly cleared, leaving the table uncluttered. When the food arrived, we were blown away by the skill and attention to detail in the presentation of each dish. However, nothing could compare to the extraordinary flavors. Jake has truly mastered the art of pairing flavors, and with every bite, my palate was bursting with fireworks. Every detail—from the service to the drinks and the food—was breathtaking. This restaurant is a true gem, and their commitment to supporting the local community by using fresh, local ingredients is refreshing. Plus, they donate a percentage to local charities, which is admirable. If you're looking for an all-around amazing establishment, Daphne is it! You will not be disappointed!

You need to come here for not just the food, but the service. They are attentive without being overbearing and knowledgeable and kind with their approach to the experience. The chicken vin Blanc was a must have and if you are lucky enough to have a caught day-of salmon you will be delighted. Fully recommended and a must visit in Astoria. Go now.

A Must-Visit Gem in Astoria! Our first time at Daphne and it instantly became one of our favorite dining experiences ever. Every bite was spectacular — the pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the potatoes were perfection, and the fish was some of the best we’ve had, fresh and bursting with flavor. And the desserts? Absolutely sublime. Do not miss the cherry upside-down cake with miso ice cream — it’s next-level delicious and worth the visit alone. If you’re coming to Astoria, you must stop here or you’ll miss an essential restaurant in this wonderful town by the river. Daphne is a beautiful reminder of how amazing food and hospitality can make you fall in love with a place even more.

Yelp
Another amazing meal at Daphne! This is our second time passing through Astoria, and it just keeps getting better. The food was inspring. We had tuna and black cod were perfect, and the apple salad was light but so satisfying. But let's talk about that upside-down cake... I'm not kidding when I say it's worth the trip alone. I could've eaten a whole cake by myself it's that good It's rich, comforting, and the perfect balance of sweet and warm. I'm already dreaming that It will be on the menu again next time we pass though. I also have to shout out the chefs for their perfect use of salt in every dish. Both of them really know how to bring out the best flavors with just the right amount of seasoning. It's not something you always notice, but it truly makes the dishes pop and elevates everything. The place is evolving into something special. Daphne is a true gem in Astoria, and we can't wait to come back.

Yelp

Yelp
We were there on 1/17/25. The waitress was phenomenal, I am so sorry that I didn't get her name, but I know that she used to work at Buoy. She gave excellent recommendations and was extremely patient as my sister-in-law and I tried to decide which wine we wanted for dinner after several samples. All 4 of our meals were phenomenal. I had black cod, my husband seared tuna, and my in-laws had chicken stuffed with black truffles and pork with a chutney. The buttermilk bread with salted brown butter was out of this world. My brother in law really enjoyed the kolirabi soup. I know the menu changes, so I am looking forward to new local offerings.

Yelp
Had my first delicious & adventurous dinner at Daphne. The service was great, the atmosphere was chill and everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. I look forward to going back and taking out of town guests there.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Everything from the bread, the main course and the desserts were all top-notch. There were four of us and each of us ordered one of the entrées so we split everything four ways and we came away , so happy with our meals. The only suggestion I would be to have next time is to serve French press coffee, which would be stronger than the coffee they served after dinner. But we were so happy and will return again soon.

Yelp
We ended up here by accident after our original plans went south. The crew at Daphne graciously welcomed us in very last minute and gave us wonderful service. Overall the vibes were great the staff was beyond friendly and the food was good! I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area! I guess everything happens for a reason!

Yelp
Our food was delicious!! We ordered the bread, blueberry salad, and the soft cheese with peaches to start, it was all incredible. I highly recommend the cheese and peaches. For our main we had the cannelloni with summer squash, which had a delicious Parmesan foam on it. It was the perfect balance of a light, but filling meal. Our service was also above and beyond, with great wine recommendations and excellent attention to detail. Thanks for an amazing meal!

Yelp
Outstanding!!! On all accounts!!! Took a friend a couple weeks ago. Now taking a couple more tonight. So excited to share this Amazing dining experience with them!!!

Yelp
The food was either too salty (even the butter had big salt crystals on it), too tough (the pork chops were small and tough and had a 1/2 inch roll of fat around the meat), and the crepes had no flavor at all, and were burnt around the edges. However, out server was very professional and offered to replace the tasteless crepe with another entre, but nothing else seemed interesting. The chef was on the floor talking to guests, not in the kitchen actually cooking anything. I saw the person who was in the kitchen and she looked like she was struggling. It took 40 minutes for the overly expensive, salty, tough, or tasteless food to arrive. The ambience was OK, but I had to move to the other side of our table because the sun hit the parked bus across the street and shined it into my eyes. It was our anniversary celebration and we had high hopes for a nice dinner in a new place in our town, but were disappointed. We will not be back.

Yelp
I've had the absolute pleasure of experiencing the tasty and beautiful food at Daphne on multiple occasions since they opened several months ago. It quickly became my go-to place for a nice meal with family or date night. The quality of every dish on the ever-changing menu has been consistently outstanding and innovative, clearly taking advantage of the best of what's locally available. Recently I particularly enjoyed the summer squash soup followed by the cannelloni with summer squash--two entirely different and equally excellent dishes that showcased the ingredient in ways you'd never expect. I've never before been excited about squash enough to write about it! The dessert of rhubarb upside down cake was the perfect end to the meal. Daphne's attentive, friendly, and subtle service and unpretentious, welcoming atmosphere round out what has quickly become Astoria's finest dining experience. Thanks to the small but mighty crew at Daphne for bringing their passion for delicious food and outstanding hospitality to Astoria.
