WHERE DO I START? I really wanted to give this place a good review. I visited twice in one week just to make sure my initial thoughts were accurate. My pics will support this review. Look to the pics and come to your own conclusion.
FOOD - INCONSISTENT- My first visit I ordered the Oxtail plate with mac and cheese, white rice with oxtail gravy, yams with a cornbread muffin.
FOOD - WHAT WAS GOOD - FIRST VISIT: The food was all fresh, the oxtails were tough, but not terrible. The mac and cheese was good, but needed some salt. The rice was fluffy and covered with oxtail gravy. The gravy needed some salt but did have some nice heat. The yams were delicious, my guests thought the yams were too sweet, but I do not agree.
FOOD - WHAT WAS BAD - FIRST VISIT: The cornbread muffin was hard and dry. Food needs some seasoning, salt can only take you so far.
FOOD - SECOND VISIT - Wings with fries, yams, mac and cheese, rice with oxtail gravy, sausage.
FOOD - WHAT WAS GOOD - SECOND VISIT: Fries were fresh.
FOOD - WHAT WAS BAD - SECOND VISIT: My order was in-house NOT to go. Wings were fried, but not crispy, wings were soggy, but had good flavor. The rice was served in a to go container, undercooked, I had to ask for more gravy as the pic shows...rice was dry. Mac and Cheese was not fresh, also packed to go, take a look at the pics. The cheese is crusting on the plastic container side. The sausage was not edible, we all took a taste and all had to spit it into a napkin. Yams were packed in a to go container. Compare the photos in the black container to the plastic tub. Do you see? Yams on the second visit was mostly syrup. Look again...where are the yams?
Ler me be clear, the photos in the black container was first visit. Fresh and delicious. The photos of food in the plastic tubs are on the second visit. Most of the food in the second visit was thrown out.
IF you visit this restaurant, let the staff know you want FRESH FOOD, not packed containers of food sitting for hours.
Tables rock left to right, one had a broken leg. I told the server, he seemed interested, but did not fix or remove the table. It almost fell over when my group was going to sit there.
No plates, no silverware, foam containers for fresh food and plastic tubs were also used. Plastic spoons, forks, outdoor seats used in-house. The management should shut down the seating area and just have to go orders.
I attached my receipt. You know I only give accurate reviews of food I actually order and eat. No refunds, no send backs, review is based on what is served.
