****UPDATE**** 1/9/26 Update: I ordered the exact same items again through UberEats and unfortunately had a very different experience. The sausage was clearly old, you could smell it despite the seasoning, and it was extremely dry. The shrimp also tasted old and dried out, and the corn was hard as a brick. None of it was edible, and I ended up throwing everything away. This was extremely disappointing, especially after my previous experience. ***********ORIGINAL REVIEW*********** I decided to take a chance on a new seafood spot, and Daqs & Oxtails did not disappoint! I ordered the lunch shrimp boil through Uber Eats, it came with corn, potatoes, and sausage, all for under $20 (a total steal). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but when my order arrived, I was so impressed. Everything was fresh, still warm, and perfectly seasoned, you can tell they take pride in their food. The presentation was spot-on too, especially for a delivery order. The flavors were rich and satisfying without being greasy or overly salty, just that perfect seafood boil kick. I can only imagine how good it must be fresh out of the kitchen, so I’ll definitely be visiting soon for the full dine-in experience. If you’re in the Plano area and craving flavorful seafood that won’t break the bank, Daqs & Oxtails is absolutely worth a try!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10) daqs and oxalis is a whole vibe! The atmosphere is great, super clean, and full of good energy—you can tell they take pride in their restaurant (even passed inspection while I was there). The customer service is amazing, and the owner personally took time to talk with me, which I really appreciated. The food is on point. The fried lamb chops were hands-down the best I’ve ever had—flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The red beans and rice were fresh and delicious, and the sweet potato cornbread was a surprise that completely blew me away. Everything on my plate was cleared. Great food, great prices, great service. They even have lunch and dinner specials weekdays. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend supporting this spot. Can’t wait for karaoke on the 27th—I’ll be there!

Not sure how there is not a line out the door of this place at all time. Amazing food that is hard to find up here. Not one single thing I would change about ANY item that we ordered. Staff was AMAZING! Extremely pleasant experience! We will definitely be back!

I ordered oxtails with rice, yams, and greens. Portions were generous, yams sweet, and greens tasty. The oxtail gravy was a bit salty but still good. The cornbread was disappointing because it was dry, crumbly, burnt on the bottom, and stuck to the paper. For $33, I expected better. The voodoo punch daiquiri was delicious but very sweet. Pickup was frustrating since no one answered when I called twice, and I still waited 12 minutes after arriving. In total my order was $47.80 for the oxtails and daiquiri. The staff was polite, and the atmosphere seems nice, so I’d consider dining in next time instead of takeout.

Daqs & Oxtails has the best wings!! I got hot honey, the fries were fresh & seasoned sooooo good. I always leave with a dessert, and today I went crazy. That peach cobbler tastes just like my granny’s 😍. Definitely will be back. They have such a great staff. The vibes are here for sure!

Maybe it’s better dining in- I did delivery. The fries and wings were good. The corn was seasoned well- the bread/batter was soggy on the shrimp and corn. The eggrolls were a tad bit dry for my liking.

Had the Oxtail fries, catfish, and fried shrimp entrees. Really good stuff. Definitely enjoyed. Service was mostly good. I think they forgot about us as I had to go back up to the counter to ask for our food after watching other patrons receive their food. I'll give the benefit of the doubt as there were several people coming in and out for pick-up orders as well.

Daiquiris is a New Orleans tradition for us so we decided to show love to the Queen of the establishment and she showed love to us. She put together her fresh banana pudding with bananas and peach cobbler. We enjoyed them good ole oxtails the pasta and with rice. We also had my favorite crab legs seafood plate and some hot delicious chicken wings on the side. The cashier was very sweet and the music was on point great vibe very chill atmosphere. I think we found us a great spot. If I could recommend something to the establishment it would be a pool table. I guarantee you that would be the icing on the cake.

I hesitated writing a review for the LONGEST! lol the speed has improved. The first time I came, it took an exorbitantly long time to get my order, but that wasn't the case this time. I ordered the crab cluster boil. My only complaints are that the food doesn't quite match the menu photos and my boil was lukewarm. With the boiled crab, you don't get sausage. Once I popped my order in the oven, it was delicious! The staff is always friendly, courteous and professional. Definitely recommend supporting this BOB!

Aside from the cornbread being unfortunately very dry, the rest of the food was great. The Mac & cheese was seasoned and cooked just right. The greens, a little salty, but still delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked and the oxtail was tender and delicious! Didn't have the pleasure of trying the daiquiris.

Ordered ahead via Ubereats about 10-15 min before getting to the restaurant to pick up. Unfortunately, I waited an additional 30 min before I received my food. Thankfully the woman working the register told me I could wait in my car and she would bring it out to me. Food was definitely tasty and full of flavor, just a shame the wait time is long. Didn't dine in, but when I went inside to pick up there were only two tables occupied. The music is lively and there are a ton of daiquiri machines on display. I didn't partake on the daiquiris but they have a wide variety. It is such a niche restaurant so I would only come back if I had a major craving for oxtail again.

I ordered from Grubhub and it arrived pipping hot! Oxtails were tasty, seasoned well just not as tender as I prefer but good in general. The greens were my favorite! The yams are very good as well! Now we got to talk about this cornbread :( I was really disappointed. It was dry and hard and just not it. It tasted like a stale store bought cake. Prices are high but portions are generous. The Daqs are delicious and on drive through so do recommend that! If you're looking for soul food I do recommend this spot if you're in the west plano area. Just don't eat the cornbread.

I've been here a few times before they changed owners and it wasn't as good back then! They are under new ownership now. The new decor was nice and had a madigras New Orleans set up. They have a lot more food options and daiquiris now. I had the catfish fillets and fries, hubby had oxtails with rice, mac and cheese and greens. His entree came with a cornbread muffin which was dry as hell. The Mac and cheese was horrible, tasted like craft. It was the worst thing on the menu, it was like dry yellow noodles, not an ounce of cheese in sight. I was really surprised by how bad the Mac was considering this is a black owned soul food/ creole restaurant. The catfish was great tho! We both loved it and my baby really enjoyed it too. The greens and oxtails were on point. We got a liter of blue hypnotic lemonade and we almost finished the whole jug lol. Everything was good except the cornbread and mac and cheese. Please do NOT get the Mac! I should've let them know that I wanted a different side but the food takes a very long time to come out so I just let it slide. When you come here make sure you have no plans after because the wait for the food is prolonged, order a daiquiri while you wait!

The service was 10/10, the food is always fresh and made to order. The music is lively and plenty of indoor and outdoor comfortable seating. My favorite place to go when I'm in Frisco.

My husband and I came here and everyone was so nice and super helpful! They definitely have the best daiquiris in town, my husband loved the catfish and their wings were huge and tasty. And the music they play is really good! 10/10 recommend

Daqs has done it again with the food! That fried chicken is the best I've had in a long time. The customer service is awesome as well. Keep up the great work please.

I had high hopes for this place But was disappointed.The $33 Oxtails were way too salty, the Greens were bland and too big,. need chopping a bit,my wife had Cajun wings that were not seasoned,the fries were overcooked with no seasoning added. The cornbread tasted like flour. We asked for water when we placed our order, but when they brought the food to our table, they didn't bring water, so I asked the waitperson for water and she said ok, only to return a few minutes later explaining that they offer tap water(strange) and that they have bottled water for sale. She apologized.and said this was only her 2nd day. So, I bought 2 bottled waters, $4,.Great Value Walmart branded water, I kId you not. The best part of the meal was the side of Mac cheese and yams. After being disappointed, we didn't try their Daiquiris. Hopefully they can make a course correction or they are not going to make it

I thoroughly enjoyed the food. All of the fried items are cooked to order. For about $20 I had a two piece catfish and fries. The fillets are very large and seasoned well. They are definitely worth the price.

The oxtails were fall-off the bone tender and packed with flavor. The gravy was rich and seasoned just enough right, and the sides hit the spot. If you're craving real comfort food, this is the place!

Visited on a Wednesday around 1:30p. We were the only customers. It was not a great experience. Maybe they are ironing out the kinks. The young lady taking our order wasn't able to answer our questions in regard to the menu. I'll chalk that up to her only being there a few weeks. Then there was the issue with finding a clean table to sit at. Maybe there were more people earlier during lunch. Although we said we would dine in, our food eventually (and I stress "eventually") came out in to-go containers. For us to have been the only ones there, it took quite a while to receive our food. My friend got the catfish. I got the oxtails. I didn't enjoy my food and neither did she. See the photo of the fried catfish. The oxtails were tough. All around, the experience was a disappointment. My friend voiced this after being asked by a partner of the establishment who came in while we were there. He asked that we give it another try. Seeing that our containers were nearly untouched when we were about to leave is probably what prompted the inquiry.

ordered online because i only have a 30 minute lunch break...ordered for 12:30pm and got here and they literally JUST dropped the wings & fries at 12:40! now i have to wait to eat because my lunch is over at 1 and they're still not done! it's only 2 people in the lobby so im not sure what the hold up is. timing is VERY crucial, especially when orders are placed online. super inconsiderate as this is the only place where my order isn't ready. said that the fryer was down this morning which is not a valid excuse. had to ask tor a refund and find somewhere else to eat. the refund itself took 5 minutes and they couldn't even give me a receipt. thanks guys

Sadly I visited this place today at 6:30pm on a Sunday evening in hopes of getting oxtails and was told they had just sold out. Please make that make sense. The name of the place is Daqs and Oxtails and you mean to tell me when I arrive you don't have your main item on hand. The only they could tell me was they other items to offer. They lost me and my business ....refuse to make another visit to be disappointed. I had heard this would happen yet I wanted to believe it would not be the case and sure enough it happen. Don't waste your time. It's not worth it!!!

I dined in here on my 20th birthday with 3 of my family members expecting great Oxtails but unfortunately we received horrible wait times, horrible Oxtails, and just okay customer service. The wait time for us was about an hour until we got our food which is ridiculous considering the amount of people who got served before us. The person working up front couldn't take an earbud out and would spend free time on their phone. There was a very young child coming and going from the kitchen which feels like a safety risk but I'm pretty understanding. We did get two small complimentary desserts and the ambiance was great but the situation still ruined such an important dinner for me. I wouldn't come here unless you were getting something in the drive thru because they don't have any plates or silverware either. Overall very disappointing and I just wish they did a little more.

Man it's been 40 years since mom made oxtail. So I wanted to try it out. I received a warm welcome. The atmosphere is awesome, very home town like. Mellow music, everyone in the place was enjoying the food and company. The oxtail made me tear. It was cooked perfectly. It reminded me of the old days. I couldn't You can bet I'll be coming back. Highly recommended!!!

I was excited about this place reopening! Staff was friendly and super nice That is why I gave it 2 stars. But the food was quite literally hot garbage. The oxtails were seasoned ok but half of them were burnt. The greens were so bland, Mac and cheese was bland and the noodles were over cooked and mushy. The yams were decent. The rice was oily which I did not understand. And that sad excuse for cornbread....just why was it smashed into flapjack form? 10 out of 10 would not recommend eating here! However the daiquiris are still good and the drive thru is convenient.

Friendly service...food is overpriced and super Bland. I got the oxtails with Mac and cheese, greens, and yams. Mac and cheese was not good...greens had not flavor or seasoning. Oxtails had no seasoning and the gravy wasn't even good. Wasted my money because the food was not even edible

Ambiance is great, food is horrible to mid. Lemon Pepper wings extremely overcooked in a lot of seasoning so much so I could only eat 4 Fries are good Greens no taste and they come in large leafs Ox tails decent

The ambiance is nice, prices are extremely high and daiquiris are decent. I got the oxtail plate with two sides ( Mac and cheese ,red beans & rice) Oxtails - 2 stars -lacked flavor and had too much fat. They need to trim the fat from the oxtail. Red beans - 5 stars - really good and perfect consistency. Mac & Cheese - 3 stars- good I'll go back to try the shrimp and catfish plate

Horrible , we waited 45 minutes to only get something we didn't order . Then was bribed with a banana pudding that was dry and full of cookies to only have to wait another 30 minutes . When the food finally came out it was very salty , oxtails and turkey necks tough and greens under cooked . I do not recommend this place to anyone . Run , Run , Run . You'll be spending the worst $100 you ever have . I give them 0 stars . But it made me pick a star for it to post .

Drink pretty good - nothing to come back to get again. Food 1 star. Tough oxtails bland Mac n cheese old yams and old cornbread. Fryer out of order so impossible to get anything fried - wings fries nothing. Looong wait and we were the only customers. Highlight was the young lady tending the restaurant- sweet as can be!

Slighty disappointed with Daqs and Oxtails, I ordered the Jerk Oxtail plate with two sides Mac and cheese and yams. The food was very mid at price tag of $35.00 I was definitel, hoping for a better meal. The oxtail was okay , could have been more tender and came with more. The rice was pr boiled , please switch this possibly Jasmine or even basmati. Yams were also, just okay could have a bit more flavor.Mac and cheese was not good def not traditional soul mac and cheese, lacking flavor and cheese. The Daquiri was good and the only reason I'm giving this a 3 otherwise def 2/5. At a total of $50.87 I'm passing on the plate /food every time , but Daquiris are good.

My family and I visited this location over the weekend. The ambiance was good. They were playing old school music, and everyone welcomed us in upon entering. I ordered the oxtail plate. I had yams and collard greens, and a cornbread muffin. The oxtails came on a bed of rice and were well seasoned. I didn't need any gravy or hot sauce. They gave a hefty portion for the price. I was only able to finish half of it and I took the other half home. My boyfriend ordered a 10-piece wing with fries. He requested his wings fried hard and the chef understood the assignment. My beau stated," the wings were cooked with perfection." My grandbaby had the banana pudding. It was finger licking good. We took a 2nd one home for later. We also got a chance to sample the Oxtail pasta. This was the bomb.com. I can't wait to order it next time. The staff was well attentive to us and made us feel like family. We will definitely return.
