Truly the best Indian food and dining experience I've had in a long time. The food was AMAZING (price point is also very reasonable), the atmosphere was relaxing and our server, the restaurant owners' son, was extremely personable. He took time to explain the dishes to us and even shared stories of the restaurant and the inspiration behind the dishes. It's very apparent how much love and care they put into their food and customers' dining experience. Easily my favourite restaurant in Montreal now. 11/10 Must try!!

I lack the words to truly capture how phenomenal the food here is. Every dish had a wonderful mix of flavors – sweet mixed with spice, mixed with heat – your taste buds won't believe what's happening. An incredible amount of attention and detail has gone into each dish, and the owner (Simar) coming to each table to serve and explain each one himself. Don't even get me started on the mixed drinks and tea options! Definitely recommend everyone to come here. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely place run by a lovely gentleman! The food was authentic and delicious, served in Indian designed plates and bowls! We had a veg thali and dal makhni with garlic naan along with malai kofta and saag paneer. The only thing you need to keep in mind is to make advance booking for your meal.

Amazing authentic indian food. You must come and check it out yourself!! But in busy nights the service may get slow so be patient, it is worth it! Plus the servers are extremely friendly and helpful.

In brief, phenomenal food and terrific homely service. All for a reasonable price. My partner and I were visiting from Toronto. We had the pleasure of dining at Darbar on Saturday evening. We started with the Murgh Malai (phenomenally spiced chicken, deliciously delicately paired with a light dipping sauce). Our entrees consisted of saag paneer (terrific balance of flavors), butter chicken (somewhat cliche but still a fan favorite), garlic naan (soft toasty and perfectly garlicky) and basmati rice (delicious feat. Pomegranate bites). To pair all, we enjoyed a crisp draft beer not too heavy and not too light; just right (Taj Mahal). Admittedly, I’m hypercritical. I normally find something critical to say about whatever I’m eating at a restaurant; however, I genuinely and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service at Darbar. No knocks from me. Very highly recommend. Meant to capture photos of all the food, but we were too excited and dove in to our entrees without thinking after the Murgh Malai appetizer.

We were there yesterday, truly enjoyed the food and the gentleman that served us. I was with my sons girlfriend and mother, who are Pakistani, and they corroborated my initial impression. Some foods are on the sweet side. I would ever so slightly cut a little of the honey, for the other spices to come through. Nevertheless, one of the finest Indian establishments I have frequented.

Amazing little place, offering delicious cocktails and food. Service was top notch, the cocktail list was very interesting and the food... well it was just blissful the Naan was perfectly charred and the lamb vindaloo had the perfect lecel of spicy to it. I will be coming back to this place everytime I am in montreal, high recommend it!

This is an unbelievably costly place, we bought Pulav for take out and they gave us a small container of rice (picture attached). This was sold at 12$ + tax! Even many famous restaurants dont sell rice or pulav of so small quantity at such costs. Avoid this place unless you have money to waste.
