The Best Iced Coffee in London | Eater London

"As much as speciality coffee shops might enjoy ragging on the likes of Starbucks for ruinous coffee, too-sweet drinks, and a penchant for suing shops that want to make similar things, an austere, too-bitter iced latte isn’t hitting anyone’s spot. Dark Arts knows this, and has a collection of drinks ... inspired ... by the Seattle coffee monolith in its regular rotation." - James Hansen

Good coffee, but ONLY TAKEAWAY coffee and pastries now. Their is their distribution center. Ignore the reviews talking about the food options and the photos of food! Still, they had two espressos and two filter coffees to choose from. The filters were good!

Went into the shop on Monday and the barista was so sound and made me the tastiest latte! I bought a bag of beans off of their recommendation and she’s just as nice from home - big fan, huge. Also, will make sure to visit the shop again after such a nice experience, 10s across the board darling xo

That was the best jeffin flat white I’ve had in years. It’s a batch in the photo which was also stunning.

This is a mid tier roastery. There are far better roasters throughout the uk yet simultaneously they dont do terrible things here. If I had a week to live I wouldnt choose dark arts yet I wouldnt not brew em if thats all I had, if you catch my drift

The coffee tastes great! I love Photosynthesis. It’s a bit pricey but I love spending my money buying this, no regrets. It tastes great as Filter (Aeropress and French Press, self-optimized brewing time) and also with (oat) milk, totally unexpected (I bought at the coffee shop). The barista is very nice and delivered a good service.

I'm only a couple of months in the UK from Australia but this place had some of the best filter coffee I've had since arriving. Totally hidden and is mostly a roastery but the place was buzzing so the wholesale side of their business is obviously going well. They had 2 batch brews on offer & after enjoying one, Lincoln, the barista gave me a sample of the other. It was so good I had to buy a bag immediately. If you're serious about the coffee you drink, DAC is worth a visit. Keep in mind, there is no dine in cups, no seating and limited food (pastries and a couple of cakes) but they've got plenty of retail coffee options and brewing gear

They are not serving foods anymore. No more seatings, only take out coffee. So sad but the coffee is so so good. They have variety of options. Some pastries. Overall, a good place to grab a quick takeaway coffee. One of the best coffee in London so far I have tried.

Dark Arts Coffee is not your average café — it’s a cult roastery with a rebellious soul. Tucked away in Hackney, this espresso bar delivers coffee with precision, personality, and a bit of punk-rock flair. The beans are roasted in-house, and each cup feels like a small act of devotion to the craft. We tried the Lost Highway blend — rich, complex, and beautifully balanced. Whether it’s a flat white, filter, or cold brew orange mocha frappuccino (yes, really), the flavours are deep and memorable. The pastries — especially the pain au raisin — are indulgent and generously sized, perfect for pairing with your caffeine fix. Seating is mostly curbside, but that only adds to the charm: moto enthusiasts, heavy music, and a steady stream of loyal regulars make it feel like a scene, not just a stop. Highlights Expertly roasted seasonal blends with real character Buttery pastries and standout croissants Gritty, unapologetic vibe with heavy background music Friendly, knowledgeable staff who know their beans Final Thought Dark Arts Coffee is for those who take their brew seriously — and like it with a side of edge. If you’re craving top-tier coffee in a setting that’s anything but generic, this one’s a must.
