Dark Hall Coffee offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere perfect for a quiet coffee break or catching up with a friend. Their pastries are definitely the standout—especially the maple scone, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly crumbly. The raspberry crumb was also enjoyable—moist with a pleasant sweetness, though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more raspberry to balance the richness. Their cookie was nice a crisp texture. As for the matcha, it was decent—smooth and drinkable, though it didn’t quite stand out compared to some other spots. Still, paired with the pastries, it made for a satisfying experience overall. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by for the baked goods alone as well their support for the community.

Google
This is an amazing coffee shop! We've been here multiple times and love the coffee, the delicious fresh baked goods, and the friendly staff. Juan in particular is awesome- he always customizes the drinks perfectly and even checks on how we like the sweetness level and the temperature of the water. Amazing barista and owner! The atmosphere is eclectic and goth and fun. Very diverse and welcoming environment. I highly recommend it!

Google
I love coming to Dark Hall with friends. They have a great assortment of desserts and baked goods that change daily. Their outdoor patio is dog friendly, which is another plus. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. I especially love coming to try their cake flavors.

Google
Bright and cheery in the Dark Hall. If you’re in the Phoenix area and love coffee, it’s is a must visit! The esthetic alone is worth a stop, and the coffee is just as impressive! My grown kiddos enjoyed the tonic coffee and Arnold Palmer coffee. They were delighted to see both on the menu. I’m more traditional, but there’s something for everyone. The least ordered is the Chia, if you’re a chai lover this one might miss the mark. Overall awesome experience. Friendly staff, clean and unique atmosphere, impressive menu, and great flavor! We left with coffee, t-shirts, stickers, and a wish that we had a Dark Hall in Oklahoma. It’ll be a permanent spot for every future visit.

Google
terrific spot! Yummy pastries too. decor is fantastic and totally on-theme. Felt very at home because I saw what the shop stood for second I walked in (ACLU rep with a funky deck of stickers, pins, taking some interest forms, stickers for human rights causes at register). 100% recommend in every way. A lot of cafes don’t have herbal tea options, which is sad because my digestion can’t tolerant acidity in any way practically. But I had a loose leaf blackberry green tea and it was very aromatic and delicious! LOVE when coffee shops actually have decent high quality teas. They’re so under appreciated

Google
The BEST caramel oatmilk latte I've EVER had hands down. I've been here three times and each time the taste gets better and better. The workers are super kind. It is slightly cramped in there because it's so popular but I'd rather wait in line knowing the place is getting business!

Google
Some of the best pastries and cold brew in town. They make all of their syrups in house and I don't know of any other bakery that can create vegan pastries this tasty.

Google
Delicious coffee. I’m a bit of an espresso snob and they have great Americanos here. Cassidy and the staff are very patient, friendly and helpful. Plenty of outdoor seating and a comfortable cozy indoor space with WIFI so I was able to get some work done without distraction. I have been back twice now and will come back again.

Yelp
I stopped by one morning to try this place, because I kept hearing about it from a friend. I got a chai with oat milk, and a lavender chocolate chip scone. They both were very good. They had a mini quiche that looked good, as well as a whole bunch of other treats. It's cute inside, and also has some outdoor seating. The service was great as well. This is such a great neighborhood coffee shop. I definitely will go back.

Yelp
I stopped by Dark Hall Coffee this weekend for a quick caffeine boost. It's super cute and sleek with a gothic vibe. The customer service was super friendly and along with drinks they have a pastry case all which are plant based! I ordered a caramel black mocha latte with oat milk. I was hoping to get their house blend milk which is an almond coconut blend but sadly they were out. I thought it was neat they offer that and I'll have to stop in again soon to try. I also grabbed 2 macarons for my kids which they loved. It was $16 for a coffee and 2 macarons. The bean blend was soooo smooth and their house made syrups are great! I cannot wait to stop in again soon! Thank you!

Yelp
I found this place on Instagram, and I didn't want to end my road trip without stopping here. Such a vibeeee. We got an iced caramel latte and an iced black mocha (DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND ORDER IT-it's delicious). As well as a dark chocolate salted cookie-truly the best cookie I have had in a while! And a raspberry crumble coffee cake. I wish there was a little more raspberry in it, but still really yummy. I will make it a point to come back if I'm in the area again!

Yelp
Such a perfect little neighborhood coffee shop. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. Fairly large selection of pastries and even a few GF options. They make a coconut almond milk in house with dates for sweetener. Love the theme and skull cups :)

Yelp
Dark Hall is superior for vegan pastries! They have made whole cakes for us and I have enjoyed every pastry and coffee I have ordered here. Always a 10/10. The service is fast and friendly, beautiful seating area and again the most delicious and visually impressive vegan pastries. Highly recommended.

Yelp
When I first walked in the cafe, I was greeted not only by the friendly welcome of the employees but by the glorious coffee aroma. The baristas behind the counter were very friendly and welcoming. The store was clean. I love the gothic/darker aesthetic so I felt right at home. I had the iced matcha tea with oat milk. Tasted just right, not too sweet. I appreciate that they have the unsweetened matcha. The quiche was a little dry but that's not their fault. Definitely coming back. Also dog friendly, so bring your pups!

Yelp
A friend picked this spot to meet for a drink while I was in town and I was so charmed by it. There's a small attached parking lot and a larger one across the street, and I learned they share the space with a restaurant/bar next door. The interior is fairly small, there's a couple of tables and bench seats, but it was more or less occupied during my visit. They have a nice back and front patio, but it had just rained so one patio was closed and it was really too cold to enjoy the front. I did endure it for a bit while I waited for my friend and two seats to open up inside. I'd just left brunch so I had a hot tea and got an Arnold Palmer and sugar cookie to go. The service was great, I thought everything was fairly priced and I enjoyed everything I purchased. I'd love to come back and try their coffee as well as try a meal next door.

Yelp
Amazing local business with awesome coffee and community presence! A must visit for great coffee, vibes and service.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
I liked the gothic vibe and the way it was decorated. Customer service and location was great. I came here on Memorial Day and pastries available were not the same as what was showing online. That was disappointing. The caramel latte was equally disappointing.
google avatar

Alicia W.

Yelp
This place definitely lives up to the hype. The inside has a super cute goth vibe and they have a great patio area too! The employees are super friendly and the service was great and speedy. Everything is plant based and their syrups are made in house which is awesome. They also offer house made cashew milk which I had never tried, but I'd highly recommend. And they have a wide range of pastries and other sweet treats. 12/10 would recommend trying to carrot cake!! I think this is my new favorite coffee shop
google avatar

Yelp
After eating at the Coronado for lunch, I love to stop next door at Dark Hall and get an espresso drink and some desserts to take home. Their drinks are great and their desserts and pastries are some of the best I've ever had. On Father's Day I picked up a box of brownies and my husband and the rest of the family absolutely loved them! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Lydia P.

Yelp
So glad I was able to stop here while passing through Phoenix recently! I've been dying to try this place. First of all, let me tell you, the decor lives up to the hype. It's spooky and just amazing. The service was super friendly - 3 baristas said hello to us when we walked in. It seems like such a small gesture, but it doesn't always happen. Our coffees came out quickly and we're delicious - but the real show stopper was the shortbread! I love that Dark Hall is completely plant based and I can order without any anxiety!
google avatar

Alyssa B.

Yelp
I think it's hilarious that people are shocked Dark Hall is "dark". Did you not do your research before your visit?! Anyways! I love Dark Hall for their coffee, their pastries and what they stand for. They're one of the best coffee shops in the valley. We had them make the desserts for our small wedding and everyone loved them! The new location is beautiful and we enjoy stopping by. Definitely somewhere to visit!
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
I absolutely love the decor & name of Dark Hall! Not only the interior design, but also the names of their drinks and desserts. They definitely keep it consistent. I love the goth theme. But, what is it really all about? The delicious desserts and coffee. Tucked away behind the Coronado you will see a cute outdoor patio with a door that takes you to dark hall. If you're lucky enough to try Coronado, make the effort to try the "pop tart", it's from dark hall and it's delicious. Strawberry, so yum! I tried a few of the other desserts, but I will say one thing that will keep me coming back consistently is the cinnamon rolls. I don't want to say I'm a vegan cinnamon roll connoisseur, but I might be. They have a soft gooey cinnamon inside but the thing that sets them apart from the rest is their icing. I don't know how they do it but it tastes like "cream cheese" and it is 100% plant based vegan. That is real pastry chef skills! ^Don't wait too long to go because they do sell out . Or special order like I did!
google avatar

Jan Michael F.

Yelp
The space inside is not as spacious, but there are plenty of seats inside and outside. They also have a parking space in property and right across them. The baristas are all nice and friendly. The drink was great, the pastries were also delicious!
google avatar

Talisa M.

Yelp
A top favorite coffee shop in Phoenix, AZ. 100% vegan. Housemade mylks and pastries that are 'deadly' delicious. Coffee creations from simple to more done up. The setting is so great. All back, goth decor/vibe. It's a fun and unique experience, one of love partaking in as often as I can when I visit this area. WiFi is available for those who purchase and are chilling in the space. Bathrooms available and well kept. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and next door to Coronado which is a great l local food spot. And finally, always great service.
google avatar

Yelp
A hidden surprised chic dark / floral decor with variety of Vegan pastry selection and informative server and helpful. Also a gr8 spot for meet and study Must Try their expresso + tonic, stir lightly to elevate their floral flavor
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Great treats savory and sweet amazing coffee, teas and lemonade but the 5 stars comes from the people. It may be a dark hall but the people are as bright as any around. Makes your day having a nice conversation and being scene. Will be back to try more savory and sweet treats!
google avatar

Sabine T.

Yelp
What a neat little place! The coffee is good, I didn't have any of the pastries but they looked delicious (also, everything is vegan) and the decor is delightfully goth. It's right around the corner from the Coronado, a great place for a meal that you can now combine with good coffee. Friendly barristas and not too crowded when I stopped by just after lunch on a Friday. Fantastic decor and atmosphere, too!
google avatar

Tyler C.

Yelp
We've been walking to Dark Hall since they've reopened in the Coronado Neighborhood. The service is always friendly and the Lavender Oatmilk Latte is FIRE. Their baked goods are insane and shareable. All food and drink options are vegan, and some are gluten-free as well. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop by this cafe @darkhallcoffee for a while and was pleased when the girls and I got to visit today. It's so thoughtfully decorated with dark florals and gorgeous pen and ink framed drawings. The entire backsplash wall is tiled in black honeycomb pieces. The summer menu was out and I decided to try the hot Sadako, a latte with Ube and sweetened condensed coconut milk. The girls got iced oat vanilla lattes. My latte had a lovely lilac foam topped with blackened coconut shreds - so pretty! It was delicious. The girls tried and agreed. It wasn't sickly sweet like the syrupy drinks at other cafes. The taste was lovely and subtle and sweet in a good way. There's a little patio at the front entrance showcasing the gorgeous wall mural slightly hidden under creeping fig Ivy, and there is a larger, more casual patio in the back, as well as seating inside on jade green booth seats or blue velvet chairs accented with gold and black. The pastries here look like pieces of art themselves. We need to return for some dessert soon.

Yelp
Definitely will be a regular haunt in this fine establishment! The interior speaks my literal love language, it's everything I need/want in a coffee shop. I had a Cortado that was perfect and a black sesame shortbread cookie, deelish! The gals behind the counter were lovely as can be, I can't wait to pop in here again!
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
this was our first time visiting them at their new location but not our first time supporting dark hall. The vibe here is incredible. Love whoever came up with the design and choice of decor. Service was pretty straight forward. Staff were a little rushed because it was busy. For drinks we ordered a black mocha and their chai. The black mocha to me had NO flavor at all besides bitterness from the coco powder and milk unfortunately it was a super busy day so I didn't bother asking for a new one but it was so bad i dumped it. The chai stood out as a clear winner. It was flavorful with a touch of sweetness. I liked it and I would come back but maybe next time stick with the chai and make it dirty so I can get a caffeine hit. xx

Yelp
Arrived upon opening hours and it smelled so good. Service was quick & prompt. Ambiance was inviting. Grabbed my latte & a few GALentine treats.

Yelp
There's something about Dark Hall Coffee that stirs the glutton that lives inside of me so it's only fitting that I ordered the special "Gluttony" iced mocha! Oh but I didn't stop there. I had to go and also get two other of their baked goods that were available that day, a blueberry bar and a cookie to enjoy later in my hotel room. The Gluttony drink is out of this world delicious and the skull cake is dark chocolate and terribly decadent. Really, it's the perfect drink and I'm not sure how long it's available but get there ASAP and order it. All of their baked goods are divine. I was slightly sad they were already out of a few things but hey, when your stuff is this good, it's going to sell out. I love the new large space! As much as I loved Dark Hall before, the tiny space didn't lend itself well to working on your laptop or anything. That has changed with a good amount of indoor tables. They also now have a cute front yard that's nice and shady, along with a side patio that's not shaded however I think I heard that they'll be extending their hours into the dark, dark night. Really, it doesn't get any better than this (super sweet staff, too!)

Yelp
This place is bomb! All vegan and dog friendly patio nice baristas with great recommendations and the aesthetic is on point definitely a fun place to check out :)
google avatar

Gisselle G.

Yelp
Darkhall has the best vegan pastries that are to die for!!!! Seriously so good. They have a lot of areas to study or do work in their front or back patio and is overall a great vibe.
google avatar

Kassey T.

Yelp
What a cute little spot in the Coronado neighborhood! They had so many delicious treats to choose from, but I settled the on the cherry filled scone. It was so yummy! The oat milk vanilla latte was also delicious. The inside is pretty small (don't recommend a stroller if you have a little one) but the outdoor area was a perfect spot to enjoy some early morning coffee in the shade with space to put the stroller out of the way. There were also many people with bikes!
google avatar

Yelp
Order some Halloween treats: a black out cake with red ganache and glass shards for a small wedding ceremony, dozen macarons and 6 black out cookies (and yes, my friends are the epitome of Halloween haha). These treats are going to be an amazing fit with the Halloween decor theme! This newer location seemed much bigger and with additional coffee shop seating inside and out. It was supposed to be just a pick-up order, but I had to try their nitro cold brew, which was more like a cold brew with no nitro creaminess...still great! Also decided to take a fruit galette to go as well, and that was a little sweeter than I'm willing to admit, but we'll worth it, especially being vegan and dairy free. The woman that rang me up also offered to help me bring my order to my truck. So awesome of her! Thank you for a great experience. I'm crossing my fingers, these treats make it to Halloween as I may eat them all tonight.

Talisa V.

Yelp
My to go coffee spot!!! Drinks are amazing, always love when they role out with seasonal drinks. The Vibes, fit right in my personality and dark romantic style Barista and owner are the best and very welcoming to all!!!! Pup friendly Honestly, Can never go wrong here. The only bad thing is when I didn't order the oatmeal cookie or cake slice and then regrets kick in for my own dumb mistake
google avatar

Tracie H.

Yelp
We ended up coming here every day during our trip to Phoenix. Everything was delicious. Pastries do sell out so learned quick to get those early. Also throughly enjoyed the Heatwave Horror menu. Loved the theme, unique drinks and the two we tried (Ghostface and Sadeko) were both tasty. Not overly sweet which I appreciated. Staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. If I was a local, I would be in here all the time.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Always my favorite coffee shop stop in Phoenix! Vegan, cute, friendly, tasty. What more could you want?
google avatar

Nathan B.

Yelp
Cannot recommend this place enough. The caramel latte w oat milk as well as the Pastries we picked out were so delicious! Juan was so kind and welcoming to us. We will be returning
google avatar

Kam M.

Yelp
I had to stop by my favorite coffee shop in the Valley as I haven't been here since they moved. The new location is gorgeous & so roomy. I must bring my laptop in here one day & hangout. I came in for some yummy pastries & Ofcourse coffee. I had a cinnamon roll which is still so good but it apparently shrunk they were never this small before Lemon cake I've never had before but like everything else there it was yummy. espresso + dark crown tonic you have to wait about 15 minutes for it but so worth the wait so good. I will always be back.
google avatar

Brooke A.

Yelp
Walking into this place smelled absolutely amazing! It's got a unique dark ambiance with a handful of tables inside and many outside in front and back as well. I tried the banana tart which was so tasty with the caramelized crust on top! I just got a regular latte but the flavors are made in house so would definitely be worth trying on a later visit. The barista was talkative and helpful when customers had questions but he was the only one behind the counter so it took awhile to move the line along.
google avatar

Jodie O.

Yelp
Everything I got from Dark Hall was great! They change their baked goods Almost every single day so I recommend checking their Instagram to see what they have today! I had been told that if I ordered online early they would save me the items I ordered but when I got to the shop they had not saved me anything. So I was missing some items which was very sad because I woke up pretty early (like before they opened which is 6am ) to wait till they opened the online ordering to order specifically for that reason. The items I got were their Chocolate Chunk+Sea Salt Cookie, Cayenne+Cherry+Cinnamon Cookie, Cherry Shortbread, Rose Crystals+Pistachio Shortbread, Lemon Cake w/ Almond Buttercream & Toasted Almonds, Carrot Cake. My favorite was there a chocolate chip cookie and the little shortbread cookies!
google avatar

Clarissa N.

Yelp
I've always heard about this spot and which I'd come sooner! Matcha was perfection. Nice spot to hangout outside and chill :)
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
It's vegan. Which is fine. Coffee was good. Would go back. The interesting mix of satanism and animal rights
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Hip dark-sided cafe with great roasts. Excellent oat vanilla latte. Ask for a blessing on your coffee & maybe you'll get a pentagram
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
We have been coming to Dark Hall for years, back when it was a tiny wittle shop on 7th Ave. Now it's conveniently located only a 15 minute walk from our house so it's a staple of ours, as they have amazing vegan pastries, cakes & cookies, along with savory scones that are to die for. Their weekend offering of cinnamon rolls should not be missed, either. They go FAST! Their coffee is mostly no frills, but in the best way possible. You have a few flavors you can choose from, I usually get an iced black mocha as it can do no wrong, the coffee is good! The ambiance is cute & gothy. Not at all offensive or scary like someone recently commented. It's harmless & fun. It's an open & inclusive space that is safe for everyone. Some of the staff still wear masks & while that might not be important to everyone, it's still important to me, as an immuno-compromised individual. They also now have a nice back patio for outdoor seating in the sunshine. We love Dark Hall & are blessed to have it so close to us now. We are spoiled!
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
One of the best vegan cafes I've visited in the valley. Their coffee is excellent. Their vibe is impeccable: dark painting, velvet chairs and benches, and all the gothic characteristics. I have had some of the best vegan pastries here! Their scones are so flavorful, and their chocolate banana cake??? Delicious! Staff is super friendly. Highly recommend for those with and without dietary restrictions.

Leo E.

Yelp
Drinks and pastries are super tasty; however, the register service could really use some work. It seems like some of the people who take orders treat people differently depending on if they perceive them as someone who will tip versus not. The contrast in how they engage is apparent. Unfortunate because of how much I enjoyed their drink and pastries, but I don't plan on coming back because of my experience. Not bad if you don't care about how you're treated. I think it's important to note that this review isn't about all the baristas but two specific ones that were present when I went.
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
Super cute coffee house! They have their own small lot in the back. I got an iced cardamom rose latte and it was really good! They have plant based only milks so I opted for oat milk. They were making fresh pastries in the morning, so the entire shop smelled amazing. I got a freshly baked black pepper scone which was so good and paired well with my iced latte. Come check them out!
google avatar

Cassie P.

Yelp
This place is always consistently flowing with customers and I'm not surprised either. With their location, friendly staff, and quality food and drinks, it's no surprise that they always have people there. This is a great spot for a coffee date, a good place to do work, or enjoy their delicious pastries, Dark Hall is a place for everyone. Their parking is fairly small but you can park at the lot across the street. It's also conveniently located within The Coronado, so you can have a meal and coffee at Dark Hall afterwards.
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
Dark hall is my favorite spot in Phoenix. Great coffee, INCREDIBLE pastries, and great vibes from the staff. I am dairy free and a huge cake lover and there is truly no better place to find QUALITY vegan cakes and treats. This is the only place I order my cakes for birthdays and will more than likely where I order my wedding cake
google avatar

Grace H.

Yelp
Stopped by Dark Hall as part of the Wanderlust Coffee Tour and I was not disappointed. I had been to the previous location which felt incredibly small but this new location is HUGE! So much seating (indoor and outdoor) and so beautifully decorated. I loved the small details of the skeletons and disco balls and pictured in my review. I think they did a great job of theming this place it's extremely cohesive and a fun vibe. I want to come back and try some of their other drinks and food. I just got an iced americano which was delicious. They had lots of fancy looking vegan drinks which I'll have to try next time :) I love to support vegan businesses and it's very easy to support Dark Hall as their coffee is DELICIOUS! I'll be coming back soon. And getting more merch because it's soooo cute
google avatar

Misha T.

Yelp
Good coffee (tasty cold brew) and a good spot for working (despite the yelp categories saying it's not). Lots of power outlets and parking too. Took some beans home to SF.
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
I have been dying to try dark hall and came today before a delicious breakfast next door at the Coronado! My sister got a blackberry jasmine tea and I got a golden mylk with oat milk. I love that everything is vegan. We were definitely eyeing the cake slices, but got a hibiscus shortbread cookie to share. Yum! Loved the decor in here too and the art outside. They have a cute little patio area. Our drinks were good too.
google avatar

ellie k.

Yelp
My best friend and I were looking for a place to get coffee and Dark Hall was one of the only places open near us at the time. I think the guy we talked to was the shop owner. Well he was a lot of fun and super helpful and accommodating about our drinks. We'll definitely be back

Brittney N.

Yelp
Spent $7 on a cold brew that tasted awful. Worst coffee I've ever had. Took one sip and threw it out
