Lovely hot chocolate with melted chocolate shavings. However, no semi skimmed milk avaliable on our visit, so i had almond milk. It would have been so much nicer if there had been somewhere to sit inside instead of a bench in the street outside the shop. Just as well the weather was nice! An amazing range of artisan chocolates to buy and take away, but very expensive. Good service by pleasant staff too.

Google
The hot chocolate at Dark Sugars was just the best — rich, creamy, and full of deep chocolate flavor. Probably the creamiest I’ve ever had! It felt like drinking pure melted chocolate, but perfectly balanced. A must-try if you're in London and love indulgent treats!

Google
The hot chocolate here is absolutely divine—rich, velvety, and full of deep cocoa flavor, possibly thanks to the generous sprinkle of chocolate on top (which I secretly love!). It adds such a luxurious touch, making every sip feel indulgent and perfectly balanced. The shop also offers a tempting variety of other chocolate-based treats that are hard to resist. On top of that, the staff were incredibly sweet and attentive, making the whole experience even more delightful. A must-visit for true chocolate lovers!

Google
The best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! I’d been wanting to visit this place for a long time, and it definitely worth the hype. I ordered the salted caramel, and I’ll be back to try the dark chocolate next time. The aroma is incredible, and they have a huge variety to choose from!

Google
Wow, these chocolates were amazing and especially the classic hot chocolate. The drink was so rich in chocolate flavour and they added some dark and white chocolate shavings for an extra kick. Bought lots of them for the office as souvenirs. Spent over £60

Google
Love this chocolate shop in Brick Lane! I discovered it on Instagram and visited at once when I learned it is independently owned and is careful about how it sources its chocolate. The truffles are absolutely delicious and the price is by the pound so you can mix and match and fill a bag up with goodies. Small bags make fantastic gifts too and just being in the shop is a delicious experience. A little expensive but worth it!

Google
Visited Dark Sugars for the first time and had their original hot chocolate with the mixed shavings on top. I really enjoyed it, the chocolate shavings provided something different compared to previous hot chocolates I've had, definitely worth paying the extra 50p for them. As the chocolate shavings melt you get an even stronger taste towards the end of your hot chocolate. The drink was prepared quickly and the staff were friendly. I would recommend if in the area for a hot drink to enjoy on the go.

Google
Fun staff! The hot chocolate is yummy and very fulfilling. I could skip my dinner after 1 cup of hot dark chocolate. 🤣 There are two outdoor bench seats. A great relaxing place to balance your busy shopping day at brick lane.

Yelp
The best chocolate I've ever tasted. And I have tasted alot! All sorts of mix ins truffles, bars flats oh the decisions! Not the sweet sugary type but real cacao and quality nuts, fills or fruit And amazing hot cocoa with real chocolate chards mixed in.Yum. The chocolates I've bought as gifts for home are never going to make it. I think I'm gonna have to make another visit to the shop

Yelp
The variety of chocolates available to select from at Dark Sugars is quite impressive. Everything is sold by the pound so we were able to grab a few different types of chocolates as we browsed around. They had a lot of different types of truffles which looked more simple compared to the fancy chocolate pieces that had little pipettes with flavored purée (which as raspberry & mango). Most of the chocolate seemed to be dark chocolate, lesser amount of milk chocolate, and a few white chocolate pieces. If you're around this store, stop in to grab a sweet treat!

Yelp
An extremely cutesy hot-chocolate boutiquesy. Offering a wide array of individual chocolate candies (mostly dark, From various parts of the world), dark sugars also whips up a mean dark, hot chocolate. For real. Whoever thought that just basic hot chocolate would be so good. The peak flavor arrived when you blend the different craft chocolate shavings into the drink and stir mic it up as if it were a martini. Exquisite. The price is a lot though. Almost $9 for hot chocolate.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing! Chocolate! What quality! What presentation! What?! Over $50 for just three drinks and a bag of chocolate?! Jesus! Ok, you're losing a star.

Yelp
Wow, Love of Chocolate! I had an Irish Hot Chocolate with dark chocolate shavings. Great!!! You have to try!

Yelp
We stopped by Dark Sugars for two hot chocolates--one with ginger and one signature hazelnut praline. Unfortunately, they both tasted the same; the ginger and hazelnut flavors were lost in the sea of chocolate shavings. It's incredibly rich--after a few sips, I was done, but it's hard to toss at £5.50 a cup. The shop was packed with only one attendant, so be prepared to wait. We also picked up a few chocolates (chilli, mango, date, and hazelnut), but honestly, nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Dark Sugars was posted on social media as one of the best places to get hot chocolate in the UK so based on that we decided to check it out. The place is relatively small but the staff tries to go through the customers efficiently and effectively. There are many options and I got the basic hot chocolate with dairy-free milk. the hot chocolate was a good portion size but the taste was underwhelming. i had high expectations given the rush and the ratings it had received but it was an average hot chocolate. if you are in the area stop by but i would not go out of my way

Yelp
Amazing chocolate shop with huge selection including many vegan options: chocolate covered apricot, mango, dates, ginger, then some chili chocolate truffles, all dark chocolate, etc. The chocolate is very high-end. The hot chocolate creations are also delicious and they can make many of them vegan with soya, coconut, or almond milk. Our hot chocolate with soya milk was so rich and creamy and the perfect nightcap. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
This review is has been 3 years in the making. Ever since I saw Dark Sugars' decadent creation on Insider, I knew I had to have it in my life. Sadly, Dark Sugars has never come to the states. But I did thankfully get to visit them over the pond! Inside is small but filled with chocolate. When you go place your order, you'll notice there's already a cutting board filled with thick chocolate shavings. Ready to be lovingly placed in a cup of hot chocolate. I ordered a classic and got my order pretty quickly. Servers were polite and kind even during the rush which was appreciated. Took a bite of the chocolate shaving and was surprised by how high quality it was. Took a sip after the chocolate had all but melted and it was pure decadence. Sweet and rich, a stick your bones type of hot chocolate. One of the rare few treats that was definitely worth the hype!

Yelp
We came originally for a nearby fish and chips shop. We were disappointed with the fish and chips but happened to see this on the way back and had to stop. Hands down best hot chocolate we've ever had! Sipped it in the park and enjoyed every sip. Will miss this next time we are craving it in the states!

Yelp
I made it my mission to check out all the recommended hot chocolate places in London during my visit and this place is definitely very high on my list!! Learned about this place via IG and I thoroughly enjoyed my cup of delicious salted caramel hot chocolate with extra chocolate shavings. They have a wide range of hot chocolate drinks that you can choose from, and on top of that, you can add chocolate shavings into your drink. The shavings are a combination of dark, milk, and white chocolate which they often shave and add into your drink right in front of you. The salted caramel hot chocolate was on the sweeter side but I loved the subtle saltiness and the caramel flavors also came through in addition to the strong chocolate aroma. Once you walk into the store, you can just smell the cocoa/chocolate flavors and they have different types of chocolate and truffles sitting in bulk around the store. Some of their promo flavors are also available for you to try! There are some pull out seating outside the store. If I'm back in London, I will be sure to come back for more!!!

Yelp
If you don't want to come for the chocolate (which you should, because they are so good!), come for the hot chocolate. You could just go for a plain one, but instead go for a ginger one. Or salted caramel. Or chili. But whatever you do, do not forget the chocolate shavings! They'll pile them on and when they melt, it makes for the creamiest hot chocolate ever. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and the line moved quickly. Even on a busy Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
**July 2022: Saturday Afternoon Visit** HOT CHOCOLATE REVIEW: I remember doing research on best hot chocolate places and Dark Sugars came up high on the list. The photos of the display looked so exotic and presentation of the hot chocolate chocolate shavings looked so extra. Naturally, I wanted to see if they lived up to the hype. Upon recommendation I got the hazelnut praline (£5.50) and paid extra £.50 for the chocolate shaving. It's really a showstopper and I tried to take as many photos as possible before it all melted into the drink. Finally I mixed in all the chocolate shaving and gave it a sip. It was very okay. I think perhaps the barista put in too much milk, because even with the extra chocolate shavings it tasted very thin and liquidity, whereas I expected something more rich and velvety. Not sure if this is the norm but I'm glad I got to try it out.

Yelp
Obviously, a chocolate shop. They sell a variety of truffles, and chocolate drinks. We got some of both. They were very good. I tend to be a purist about truffles, so those didn't appeal to me as much (since they add chile and various other things). My wife loved them. The hot chocolate was unadulterated, and very very nice.

Yelp
*Music notes* Chooocolate's on my mind; I gotta haaaave it all the tiiiiime. Aaaaayyyaaayyaaay! Choooocolate craaaaayyzaaay! Okay! I've had this place saved in my bookmarks for 2 or 3 years. Finally got to go on my first trip to London! So exciting! I love dark chocolate, so I order the "Pitch Black" got chocolate. So freakin' rich! I enjoyed every bit and I stayed and chatted with the guy working the store. They have alternative milks for vegan friendly hot chocolate! They have a great selection of chocolates and I'm still working on the £20 box I purchased. You can select a box with a flat rate and fill it up with what you like. It may be a stretch and a hop across the pond, but please bring Dark Sugars to the U.S.! Side note: they have 2 locations. This one is the original location, small, quaint, and cute. The other is larger with seating and ice cream. They are 5 mins walk from each other.

Yelp
Simply put...the best hot chocolate I've ever had. This very special chocolate cafe has the most extraordinary truffles to boot. The flavors are not just unique but they're decadent and beautifully balanced. I particularly like the overdose truffle along with the dark chocolate honeycomb. The cacao is so pure and the love with which these creations is made oozes out of the handmade sweets. The story behind the female entrepreneur and chocolatier is cool and the goods well worth the jaunt to trendy gentrifying Shoreditch. I loved it so much I have already inquired about shipping to the US. Do not miss this very special experience when in London.
google avatar

Anitha K.

Yelp
Get the classic hot chocolate!! This is how hot chocolate should be made. They have flavors you can add as well but I'd stick with the classic. Watch them make it. They also sell boxes of chocolate to take home.
google avatar

Diana D.

Yelp
You can't miss this shop if you are walking around Brick Lane, this is a chocolate lover's paradise. They have several different varieties of chocolate, even some for vegans. Chocolates are served by the pound, you can grab a bag and fill it up with truffles or other chocolates of your choice and pay it based on the weight. I also tried the hot chocolate which was good, not the best though. I loved how they put the chocolate shavings on top.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a pass. Note from my pictures how cool it looks from the inside? It's in a really neat area and the way they have the chocolate displays are really quite creative and very interesting. The chocolates also look really good and they have a large variety of flavors. The smell!!! They have interesting music playing in the store and it really feels very boutique. Problem is, the chocolate wasn't all that great. I tried a few of them in hopes that this would be a new come-to spot when I'm in London for business, but I wasn't really excited by what I tried. Sort of tasted a bit dry and the chocolate flavors didn't grab me. I'd much rather go to Fortnum and Mason and have the chocolates from there. No need for me to return.

Yelp
Unbelievable. I don't even like chocolate.but I was breathless at the intoxicating smells, tastes and sounds of this culinary Meca of chocolate from around the world. Hard carved chocolate shavings love only prepared for each and every cup. Food is art and this is the Louvre.

Yesenia C.

Yelp
Friendly staff and yummy hot chocolate. Very rich and chocolaty. Definitely a sweet treat ID you're on the hunt for one.

Yelp
Chocoholics and chocolate connoisseurs, beware! You may have just met your match. You won't find any other sweets shop around here to give you the decadent pleasures you'll find at this one. It may not be enormous, but the delicacies they sell don't need a whole lot of room to entice the random passerby into spending all of their money on their wholesome variety. You won't just find normal, run-of-the-mill truffles inside. They have tables, bowls, and even decorative trees laden with different types of chocolates with flavors ranging from the exotic with unique ingredients like chilis and fruits, to boozey ones complete with tiny bottles filled with liqueurs like Bailey's, rum, gin, whisky, and champagne. The nut clusters are great, as well, and they even have chocolate-dipped dried fruits for those with an extra sweet tooth. They even sell good coffee and hot chocolate that also comes in different flavors, from the spicy to the extra sweet, all of which pair perfectly with their chocolate. As you might expect, these tiny concoctions don't come cheaply, but if you think you can control yourself you can buy just one, if you happen to possess that kind of willpower. Don't be afraid to ask for free samples to help you decide!

Yelp
Omg....can't wait to go back to London to have the delicious hot chocolate from Dark Sugars. So creative from their part to put all those shaved chocolate on hot milk. Beautiful display, lively boutique store. Must go when in London.

Yelp
What is this?!!? I wish I could afford to try it all. I chose: Hazelnut crunch Matcha pearl Hazelnut pearl Jamaican rum Strawberry rose All my options were fabulous. I wanted more! There are so many options and they all look so pretty. You can hear them saying "eat me". These little pearls look too precious to eat. I questioned if it was chocolate or decorations initially. Their seating is very unique too. Friendly, attentive staff.

Yelp
On our wander along Brick Lane, Steph and I smelt this place and had to go in. It smelt heavenly. Rich chocolate with hints of citrus, berries, alcohol...who could walk by? There was a young man at the entrance with a lovely wooden platter filled with slivers of chocolate -- white, milk, and dark -- to sample. It was difficult not to grab the whole thing! The chocolate. Both the dark and milk were rich in flavour with a nice creaminess to the milk. I didn't touch the white -- I've never appreciated white chocolate :D Convinced I needed more, I wandered in. This place is gorgeous to look at, smells heavenly, and is filled with choices. So much chololate, so little time. It's not cheap -- a small gift box that fits 4-5 chocolates will set you back 5 quid -- but for good chocolate, that's actually very reasonable. The chocolates are displayed on heavy wooden slabs and glass table tops supported on polished wooden branches. It really is a very pretty shop. Add in the colours of sweets like the (very tasty) Strawberry Rosewater or the (equally yummy) Chocolate Orange Slices and it's hard to look away. I ended up being generous and picked up some of the pipettes for my friends. The chocolate shells are perfectly made, the delicious ganache is creamy and rich, and the pipette of alcohol adds a delightful note to an already tasty treat. Steph picked out an assortment of chocolates for a gift box. Someone got lucky!

Yelp
You will drop a small fortune here but it is TOTALLY WORTH IT. The handmade truffles are amazing and so creative - be wary of the Chili one... its a slow burn. They have a bunch of vegan options, which are nearly as flavorful as non-vegan. They will give you a decoder map when you check out, so don't worry about mixing a bunch together.
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
We didn't mean to go into a chocolatier. We were just walking by and their irresistible displays caught our eye. What a cool-looking spot. The woods they use, with their shapes and textures against the warm tone of the chocolates were intensely inviting (and I'm not even that keen on chocolate!) We tried the pearl chocolates, shiny and colorful, with different flavors inside. Strawberry and coconut were delicious. One of us really wanted to try the Poire and Raspberry Pipette, a pipette of raspberry lays on top of the chocolate truffle, ready to be squirted into the center before you take your bite. It was pretty good! I prefer the pearls over the pipette chocolates personally, but I don't think you can get anything bad here.

Yelp
Wandered in here on a walkabout through London and happened into THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE IVE EVER HAD!!! Words cannot describe the Chocgasm going on in my mouth right now. If you're in the neighborhood and your sweet tooth is nagging at you...take that poor child here. It will be singing songs of goodness. I will dream Chocolate dreams tonight about DARK SUGARS!!!

Yelp
Came across this whilst exploring Brick Lane in Shoreditch, they have a smaller shop down the road but this bigger version comes with an attached café. It looks and smells very inviting and the staff are great! We got to sample the mango pipette chocolate which was delicious, very kind of the staff to let us try it for free. You remove the small pipette and squeeze the coulis on to the chocolate then chomp away, a fun novelty. We bought a bag of 5 chocolates, mostly truffles for around £5 based on weight. You can also buy set price boxes and cram them full too. I don't mind paying for good chocolate, my favourite brand is Prestat and they're not cheap but totally worth it! In comparison to Prestat these chocolates didn't quite compare but they were nice enough and worth the price and customer experience/service. The shop is really cool, brilliantly decorated with fun artwork that you can buy if you've got a coupe of grand lying around :) My favourite truffle had to be the passion fruit one with it's fruity, gooey centre. I wasn't keen on the salted caramel AT ALL, neither was my friend but I guess it all boils down to personal taste.
google avatar

Yelp
Good selection of chocolates near Spitafields Market in London. The chocolates are set out on several tables. They're priced by the pound. Grab a bag and place your selection in the bag and then hand the bag to be weighed, pay and you're on your way. Good chocolates for a reasonable price. I particularly liked the Vodka with Orange and the Strawberry Rosewater.

Yelp
Delicious chocolates! And a gorgeous store, open late. Everything you could want in a chocolate shop, with delicious gelato or hot chocolate right next door (same business name but you have to pay separately.

Yelp
When we were wandering around Shoreditch for the Street Art Walk, a couple of yelpers in the group, pointed out Dark Sugars and told me that I had to try them out. I'd promised a friend I was visiting over the weekend, that I would pick up the rainbow bagels for her, so it was the perfect opportunity to try Dark Sugars Chocolates too. There are large bowls of beautiful chocolate all around the store. Neatly labelled. You have the options to go fruity or alcoholic. I of course, chose the latter. I asked the really sweet and helpful lady manning the store if it would be possible to try a bit of chocolate before I chose. She told me to look around and choose any flavour I fancied. I thought she would give me a bit of a scraping from the white and milk chocolate bars that she had on the counter, so this came as a complete surprise, but it was a foretaste of the generosity of spirit of Dark Sugars. I tried the Tia Maria on her recommendation and was hooked. Its an excellent quality chocolate shop without the fancy pretentiousness of other chocolatiers (who shall not be named). All sales are by weight and all chocolates cost the same. So no complex mental maths involved in the purchasing scenario. It seems a little radical to pop assorted beautiful chocolates into a plastic baggy like a candy buffet, but its definitely cost effective. If you aren't buying chocolate for yourself and want to gift it, they have different sized gift boxes and each size has a fixed price. Where you are allowed to stuff in as much chocolate as can fit. I made up a box for my friend and took it to the counter, the lady told me I could still fit in a few more chocolates and took me back to the bowls and asked which ones I wanted more of. She managed to fit in another 4-5. I mean, who does that? I'm blown away by how friendly and generous this shop is. The pipette chocolate looked interesting and I asked her how it worked. Instead of just explaining to me theoretically about squeezing out the liquid in the pipette and throwing the plastic pipette away, she demonstrated one and gave it to me to taste. I made up a few plastic baggies for me, the husband, the brother, the sister. I have a full house at home right now. and a gift box for my friend. The chocolates were immediately devoured upon my arrival home and I'm waiting to head into shoreditch again so I can try the hot chocolate too and pick up more chocolate. If you are visiting, I'd say : Definitely pick up one of the Pipette chocolates. They are amazing! The Irish kiss is obviously my favourite. Also, when I brought the chocolates home, they were voted the best of the lot.

Yelp
Great hot chocolate! Wish it was sweeter though, but that is just because of my liking They cut up all of the chocolate they put on top right in front of you, and it's so delicious! I got the Salted Caramel but they have so many exotic flavors like White Chocolate Matcha & Saffron! They have a variety of chocolates like truffle chocolate, hot chocolate, and ice cream. Cute place with gourmet desserts!

Yelp
Yum yum yum!!! I had just returned from Switzerland but these chocolates were so pretty and the whole place smelt so amazing I had to get myself a little box. There were so many choices I took a good 15 minutes to pick my box. Everything I tried was amazing. I'd definitely recommend the truffles with the stem ginger. I was on my way to lunch so I didn't want to fill myself up, but the hot chocooalte looked and smelt divine...

Yelp
"You used to call me on my cell phone, late night when you need my love..." - it's Sunday afternoon at Brick Lane market, why is Hotline Bling blasting on this corner? Intrigued by the blaring dancehall tunes that start playing after my boy Drake, I follow the music and end up at this spot. I'm now witnessing a dude dancing on the cash register counter while lip syncing and handing out free samples of chocolate. Is this a dance club or the storefront of a chocolate purveyor? Either way I'm hooked. The staff that work here could not be more friendly. This spot also looks like the most fun place ever to work at. I honestly couldn't tell if their job is to just give potential patrons free chocolates or actually sell them, because there was no shortage of free samples being handed out to the steady crowd gathering in the tiny storefront. Note that they have another bigger location a couple of blocks up on Brick Lane, but I've not been so I can't speak to the vibe at that location. Those melt in your mouth truffles though. They let me sample a chili truffle - the heat doesn't kick in until the last bit of truffle has vanished, but then the spice hits you hard. If you're a fan of heat in your chocolate, this is for you. I've tried their other chocolates, including the liquid filled sea salt, hazelnut crunch and honeycomb, but those truffles are where it's at. I opted for the cardamom hot chocolate, which took at least 5 minutes to prepare as she graciously kept piling shaved milk chocolate and white chocolate into my cup. The hot chocolate has real crushed cardamom (not the ground powder!), so you're sacrificing a smooth texture (you've gotta spit out cardamom shells in between sips) for the most freshly spiced and insanely decadent hot chocolate you'll ever taste.

Yelp
This place is heaven for chocaholics! Located on a corner of the very trendy Brick Lane, Dark Sugars is perfectly placed for that mid-shop chocolate hit (although if you're anything like me you won't want to leave the place). They have mountains of chocolate (literally), with something to suit every taste. I tried the dark chocolate salted caramel and the milk chocolate hazelnut praline and couldn't fault either of them. I also read afterwards that these guys make an amazing hot chocolate, raging I missed out on it. Oh well, I'll just have to plan another visit!

Yelp
Calling out all chocolate lovers to this spot! My favorite here is their classic hot chocolate drink! I've seen a video about their unique hot chocolate from Facebook and decided to give it a try since I'm in London and visiting shoreditch area. The hot chocolate is very very rich (it's like eating chocolate in liquid form) , topped with fragrant white, milk and dark chocolate. It's £4 per cup. I also enjoyed watching how the barista make the drink, it's interesting to see how fast they slice the chocolate. I've been here twice now. The first visit is on a Sunday afternoon, put in mind that the shop will be very very crowded and the wait time is quite long as well ( but it will worth the wait). This is definitely not a spot where you want to hang out with friends as there is not much seats available, more likely to order for to-go. The second visit is on 10am in the morning ( where their stated opening hours), but they only open around 10.20am, which made me to wait for quite some time. Luckily there's just so much to do in shoreditch that made me feel occupied. Maybe a great tip is not to go in at 10am, but around 10.30am.

Yelp
This place was everything I imagined it to be. We started by being welcomed by the delicious aromas of rich chocolate. Then the aesthetically pleasing assortment of chocolates ranging from white to dark. The variety was INSANE. I loved how the whole place was based around the wood design. The drinks were made in front of us and the chocolate shavings were shaved on a cute wooden table. Everyone was very sweet and descriptive about what there was to order :)
google avatar

Steve P.

Yelp
I've walked by this place many times, admiring the truffles stacked on the beautiful wood bowls. This night I went in and checked it out for the first time. They've expanded to take up two former units, which means even more chocolate everywhere you look. I didn't get any truffles but was after a hot chocolate instead. They had several flavours, I got cardamom. The hot chocolate is created in front of you from scratch by streaming milk, prepping your flavour choice and shaving a huge pile of white and milk chocolate which they fill your cup with. Keep stirring as you drink as there's a lot of chocolate in there! Overall I loved the hot chocolate, was fresh, thick and sweet. One thing I wish they also had here is a seating area. Enjoying the hot chocolate in mugs instead of paper cups while in their atmosphere would have been great.

Yelp
Decent chocolate options. I perused the hard chocolate section and ended up settling on some chocolate covered figs, matcha cubes + hazelnut pearls -- figs were definitely a standout. My sister went for their house special of hot chocolate, topped with milk, dark + white chocolate shavings - she finished it in a matter seconds. Unfortunately, the service was sub-par. The lady preparing and running the cashier at the time had an attitude (her co-worker who had just finished her shift on her way out--on the other hand--was friendly and engaging) from the start did not budge even when I tried starting a conversation about her Lauryn Hill Spotify playlist. C'MON NOW -- it's Lauryn. Sucks cause I love to see black-owned businesses thrive and what not, but we quickly finished our eats and left to seek out a less hostile environment.

Yelp
Sorry for the caps lock but THIS WAS THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE OF MY LIFE!!!!! So ridiculously delicious. Get the chilli version. It's made with love, chilli and at least three different kinds of chocolate. Fantastic. And of course a tonne of other delectable chocolates to choose from as well... Yum. (They also have a selection of vegan chocolates, if that's your thing.)

Yelp
Loved it! They would have got five stars but terribly unsanitary. Nothing is covered and it's all about the shop while people walk around and breathe on it! They need to have covers. They could do with some glass!! Aside from that - I'm not a chocolate lover but I am because of their amazing choices. Hope they open up in North America .

Yelp
I was off to dinner with a couple of friends at the Old Truman Brewery and on the way the the tube, we spot this new Dark Sugar store in sort of soft launch and just could not resist... That's a master move from the guys at Dark Sugar. 2 shops in brick lane, literally a stone throw from each other. These guys wants us to be fat or what? :) I am not a fan of carbs and sugar as a general rule, but I grew up with cocoa farms and chocolate so it's hard to say no. The variety of chocolates these guys have over there is mind-blowing. The creativity is impressive, and the staff... Let's just say that they know how to get their ladies to make us buy more. All with that hipster my touch and smile we love from Brick Lane. If you fancy some great coffee to go with your chocolate, they do have cheap options on the other side of the shop. An all-in-all experience that will please more than one, no doubt! This shop seems bigger than the other upper on the lane, and more woody/hipstery too. And this was just soft launch... I can wait to return there once it'll be fully opened. As one the guys said to me: people f'ing love chocolate. I agree, so I'll be back shortly!

Yelp
Marvellous and delicious chocolates. Need I say more? There are so many beautiful chocolates and the way they are arranged is just gorgeous. The solid wood shelves and bowls lend the whole shop an earthy elegance. They're simultaneously simple and exotic. The chocolates are remarkable both in how skilfully they're made and in the unusual flavours. On my first trip I sampled chilli; vodka and orange; apricot; and gin and lime. The flavours were delicate and carefully balanced. I hope to be back this way to sample more. The chocolates are out in bulk and you simply select the ones you want and pay by weight. I found it fairly affordable to get 3 or 4. I didn't get the exact hours, but she was open fairly late on a Thursday night (9pm). That makes it a great place to stop by on brick lane after dinner and pick up coffee and chocolates for dessert. Well worth a stop.

Yelp
The aroma is fantastic and so is the layourlt of all the chocolates. They are very exotic and the musice there puts you in the mood. It is definitely a place to go again. Don't forget to ask for help on how the pippette works for those chocolates that have one. You will be in for one great experience! The proce range might be a little more than your average chocolate shop but this is absolutely not an average shop, it is THE place to go if tou are around and craving some dark sugars.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. I've been to brick lane twice this week and have 'had' to visit dark sugars both times. Walking into the shop you're hit with the heady chocolate aroma; it's an experience within itself. Stand in the middle, breathe in and open your lungs. It might convert even the most resolute chocolate haters amongst us! Whilst the chocolate can be quite expensive, it's worth every penny. Freshly made, well presented, moorish and simply addictive. I went for a selection of the truffles, pearls and the pipette chocolates and I cannot fault them on taste, consistency, construction. They were simply divine. I also like that you can choose the ones you want yourself and they are simply weighted for price. I tried their chilli hot chocolate on my second visit. This comes laden with dark and swirls and whilst I throughly enjoyed it with it's thick and creamy consistency, I would recommend against it if you're not really a chilli fan. I really am, yet I found this to have a very substantial kick.

Yelp
PERFECT! This chocolate place is the best that I've tried in my entire life! First time, I tried their truffles in Broadway Market on Saturdays and loved it. Then found their place, bought bunch of different truffles and dark chocolate dipped fruit slices! All of them are amazing! Fig, date, orange,.. Plus, I tried their hot chocolate! That was also the best hot chocolate in my life! How surprising it is! They use milk instead of water, and they cut chocolate directly from those big blocks, amazing amazing! Just go, and try, you will be satisfied my friend :)
