The 22 Best Date Night Restaurants In London (Right Now)

"Darling's Eatery And Studio, a Hackney Wick pasta restaurant, is a place for seductively twirling a noodle on your fork as your date admires you in the golden hour glow. Come in the evening, when the candles are lit and the space fills with noise and laughter. There are two big wooden sharing tables, but we prefer the small circular tables off to the side for intimate dates when we don’t want to be overheard. The pasta looks like the bowls you’d see on Instagram, and it's tasty, photogenic stuff." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

Darling's Eatery and Studio - Review - Hackney Wick - London - The Infatuation

"Darling's Eatery and Studio, a Hackney Wick pasta restaurant, is a place for seductively twirling a noodle on your fork as your date admires you in the golden hour glow. Come in the evening, when the candles are lit, large groups arrive, the space fills with noise and laughter, and everyone relaxes. Otherwise, during the daytime, the minimalist room can feel a little sterile. There are two big wooden sharing tables, and a few small circular tables off to the side that we prefer for quick, casual meals, or dates when we don’t want to be overheard. The pasta looks like the bowls you’d see on Instagram, eaten by influencers who are partial to Saie skin tints and gingham linen—and it's tasty stuff. Just don't expect hearty portions and wholesome sauces. Instead, light, delicate flavours—caramelised onion, white beans, sundried tomato—and very small slivers of focaccia are dispatched to photoshoot-ready tables. photo credit: Martyna Wlodarska" - Sinéad Cranna

Darlings is an absolute must. A true hidden gem in Hackney. Charming little restaurant with gorgeous interiors, very relaxed and chic vibe. Service was incredibly attentive and didn’t skip a beat. The food was perfect. Best focaccia I’ve had in a long time. Don’t miss the tuna melon dish. The truffle burrata and the sausage leek and fennel mafaldine was heaven, finished with the tiramisu with their house amaro. This spot is so fab for any occasion. Looking forward to coming again!

I recently enjoyed the most gorgeous dining experience at Darlings, over a long lunch with friends. Every detail was carefully thought about, and the food and drinks flowed throughout which is credit to the incredible service and staff. Stand out dishes included the tuna melon starter, focaccia, the anchovy pasta and of course the tiramisu!! Most importantly, don’t skip the amaro at the end, it’s the perfect pairing with desert. So looking forward to my next visit already!

My partner and I agree that this was the best meal either of us has ever had. The burrata and focaccia were stars of the show. Lovely atmosphere and service as well.

we got a mix of starters and mains to share, our fav was the honey truffle burrata with focaccia for dipping. one small thing, both tables either side of us got a complimentary dessert from the chef at some point as we dined, except us?? do we smell, you can be honest 😔

A lovely restaurant hidden somewhere in Hackney Wick. The atmosphere is good, staff are friendly, but the pasta were not 100% our type, a bit too dry, taste of sauce could be better and more. The truffle burrata is amazingly delicious. Good spot for local to chill.

It gives off “hidden gem” vibes but it really isn’t one. We were initially very impressed with the starters especially the burrata with honey and very much looked forward to the pastas but they were a bit of a let down. Very average, even a bit bland and portions were small. A very cool and romantic place though with lovely staff.

Took my boyfriend for a celebration yesterday and we really love this little hidden gem on Fish Island! Loved the food, the atmosphere and how quick the service was! Will definitely come back another time.

This cozy spot in London is a real gem. The tuna tartare is super fresh and full of flavour, a great way to start. The handmade pasta is the kind of food you think about long after it’s gone, rich and satisfying without being heavy. And the tiramisu? Don’t get me started… light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. A great place for a relaxed night with seriously good food. If you’re in London, don’t miss out!
