"There’s a huge amount of passion channelled into this welcoming little wine bar. Hungarian-born Zsolt Lukács has an infectious enthusiasm for wine, which comes across in his carefully curated list that gravitates towards small artisan producers using organic and biodynamic methods. Accompanying the wine is a selection of sharing plates – like kingfish crudo – that are exactingly executed, deliver on flavour and provide brilliant value for money. The regularly changing artwork from local artists is on sale and is curated by co-owner Edel." - Michelin Inspector

I had a few hours to kill after a long conference weekend and decided to drop by on a whim before my train to treat myself, without a reservation (which on a Saturday night, I hadn't expected to be able to do). Adam and Iseult were phenomenal hosts. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, the staff were fun and cheeky, and the food was well worth the price. I am so pleased with the experience. Much love to the chefs who kindly accommodated my milk allergy. The cuisine is thoughtful and elegant, and I especially loved the locally-picked blackberries with the venison. Thank you for a lovely evening. Can't wait to return!

Stopped by for a light snack after dinner. The Irish cheese and meats platter were quite tasty. The host gave us a back story on where all the cheese came from. She also offered great wine pairings. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable.

Amazing wine bar experience in Galway! Foods were absolutely fantastic. Even with reservation, we had to wait for a bit but staffs looked after us. We were able to order wines and starter while we were waiting as well. Highly recommend to book in advance and try dining here when you’re in Galway! Highlights of the night were lobster tartlets and monkfish. We love seafoods so it was like in heaven! Would love to try lamb or other meat dish next time.

Delightful, small plates of food. 2 to 3 per person is likely needed at a minimum. Lovely, thoughtful wine list and the knowledge of this in the team there. Quiet enough to hear your own conversation even when full. It is an open-ish kitchen and I had some odour on my clothes later. Mill Street car park around the corner, €2 euros needed if you arrive at 5:30pm (machines out of order when I was there) and there will likely be some spaces. Would 100% visit again. For a glass of wine, the small plates or ideally both. It is not a big place, so suggest booking is needed.

Outstanding. Excellent service, nice atmosphere and superb food. We ordered five dishes and two desserts. All wonderfully presented and not a single miss in taste. We cannot pick a favorite. I suppose the single fault would be the price per portion size. But this is supreme food and well worth experiencing.

An excellent little wine bar with a tapas style menu. We had the Connemara oysters with Michal poitin and lemon oil. The concoction enhanced the fresh oyster flavor brilliantly. The Dexter beef tartare with caper emulsion will surprise you. The emulsion casts a spell on the tastebuds, and will leave you wanting more. The staff are knowledgeable about their wines, and our waiter Thomas was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable - he cleverly steered us to the Rully 2022 which paired so well with our dishes. I’d highly recommend this little wine bar for those looking to add a little informal sophistication to their wine-dine experience.

Our experience was so satisfying. Everything we tried was so delicious. Service was very good. Everyone was so friendly and chatting away, explaining dishes and wines. If you see Tuna Tartlets on the menu you must try. Oysters were amazing too. And of course Hamachi Crudo was another great one. For wine I tried Etna Rosso it is such a good wine, might not be best pairing wine with these dishes but great balanced red wine.

Great experience all around! We ordered the Zucchini blossom, lobster tartlet, beef tartare, scallops, and lamb. The scallops and beef tartare were the stars of the show, but everything was delicious. The service was top notch, telling us to start with 5 dishes and go from there. (The 5 we ordered were plenty). The atmosphere was great, very busy but not too loud. It's a really small place but definitely makes it feel warm and inviting! Would proudly recommend!

Yelp
Daróg was probably THE best meal I had my entire time in Ireland. A lot of people talk about Cork being the foodie capital of Ireland, but Galway really surprised me in the best way starting with Daróg. As the name would imply, the place offers an incredible selection of natural wines. The food menu uses fresh, seasonal ingredients so I'd recommend perusing it in advance since it changes frequently, from what I could gather. I sat at the bar this particular night. My one qualm about Daróg is their bar seats. Let's just say they're not really made for people with hips on the wider side and I felt a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, everything was spectacular. The bartender, a very nice but serious man from Germany (I learned), had incredible recommendations and judging by how spot on he was, I would trust him with my life. The kingfish crudo was the best bite I had during my ten day trip. The pork chop almost outdid the kingfish. The oysters were good as well and the presentation was beautiful. I even made a friend at the bar and she agreed to eventually split the steak tartare with me. She revealed that she used to be vegan and red meat, especially RAW red meat, is not something she would've ever considered eating before but she loved it. That's how good that steak tartare was. I would come back a thousand times if I could. It is well worth the price and I highly recommend anyone in Galway check it out.
