Not often in the Prairieville area, but found myself out there and did a general Google search for new restaurants and found this Ramen restaurant. I believe it's fairly new based on the condition of the building, interior and "now open" banners outside.
The restaurant itself is cute, great atmosphere, impeccably clean with very friendly staff. They even have a cute little robot that will follow the waiter to deliver your food to your table.
However, I was a little disappointed in the food itself. I ordered for an appetizer a set of 'Soup Dumplings' which were absolutely delicious. But the wait staff did not realize that a large soup spoon must be provided with this type of dumpling because you have to take a small bite off of the shell to then slurp out the soup portion before you can eat the rest of the dumpling. If you try to bite into the dumpling with all of the super hot soup liquid still inside the dumpling shell, at a minimum you'll lose most of your soup liquid (which is very tasty) - or worse - scald inside of your mouth. So thumbs up for the taste of the soup dumplings, just more training on wait staff needed.
As to my main dish which was the meat ramen I was disappointed in both the quality of the meats (which were sort of deli cut style) and the broth was VERY weak in taste/flavor. Okay, granted this particular dish on their menu was supposed to be super spicy and I asked for the spicing paste and oil on the side because I wasn't sure how spicy the kitchen would make it, but the basic broth of any ramen bowl regardless of spice level should still be very rich in unami flavor whether chicken or pork. I was pleased that they had bok choy as well as bamboo shoots because I like a lot of vegetables in my Ramen bowl, but the bamboo shoots were very limp where they should have been on the crunchy side. I also had to ask my waiter to nuke my bowl because it wasn't very hot. The wait staff was very accommodating, but the recipe and the kitchen work on the ramen bowl was lacking for me.
This is a new restaurant and they may be still working through a soft opening so I hope this review is taken in the spirit of which it's meant that they make some improvements on the ramen bowl, especially in regards to the broth richness.
The restaurant menu has many other items, so I do plan on stopping back again when I'm in the neighborhood to try something different.
Would have given them four stars if it hadn't been for both the temperature and weak broth of the ramen bowl.
