I visited the new branch of Daryaganj Restaurant in Connaught Place recently, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I had heard a lot about their original restaurant, so I was really excited to try this new location. But from the moment we entered, things started going downhill.
First of all, the staff was completely unprofessional. We had to wait for almost 15 minutes before someone even came to take our order. When we asked for water, they ignored us for a long time and didn’t seem interested in helping. The service was extremely slow and careless. No one smiled, no one checked on our table, and we felt completely ignored throughout the meal.
Now coming to the food – it was just pathetic. We ordered a few North Indian dishes and some starters, and nothing tasted good. The dal was too salty, the starters were cold and oily, and the naan was hard like rubber. It honestly felt like the food had been reheated instead of freshly prepared. There was no flavour, no freshness, and nothing worth remembering.
Even the presentation was poor. The plates were dirty, and the food looked unappetizing. We had changed glasses of water thrice to get a clean glass For the prices they are charging, the quality was absolutely unacceptable.
The ambience was also loud and chaotic. It didn’t feel like a premium dining experience at all. We left the restaurant feeling cheated and completely unsatisfied.
I had expected much better from such a well-known brand, but this new branch in Connaught Place is a big letdown. I will not be visiting again, and I do not recommend it to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else where they actually care about food and customers.
