"The restaurant of the Papa Rhein lifestyle hotel combines a tasteful maritime vintage look with good, fresh cuisine, offering dishes such as cod in a potato crust with balsamic mixed vegetables and lentils and pesto. There is a wonderful view of the Rhine and the surrounding vineyards – in summer guests can enjoy sitting out on the delightful terrace!" - Michelin Inspector

You definitely need to reserve a table on weekends , it gets quite busy. I really liked the quality of the food; it was tasty and well-seasoned. The staff were nice, though they could use a few more people on busy days. Parking can be a bit tricky, so it’s better to come by metro (get off at the “Nußdorf” stop and walk a bit) or park on the back street. It’s a charming place, and although the prices are slightly above average, it’s totally worth it for the atmosphere. The portion sizes were quite small for the price.

The location is splendid — right on the Danube bank, with a beautiful view of the river. I had the fish soup, possibly the best I’ve ever had, and the fish and chips were also very good. The staff were nice overall, but many of the interns responsible for clearing tables didn’t seem very attentive, which took away a bit from the otherwise great experience. Still, the food and setting make it well worth a visit!

Stunning location on the Alte Donau. This has become our favourite restaurant along the river, as they offer a great mix of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes. The staff are very kind, the dishes are served with care, and the flavours are good. The portions aren’t very large for the price, but I personally prefer quality over quantity.

Amazing place. Great interior and very delicious food. This was probably the cleanest toilet I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. We tried many things from the menu and everything was just perfect.👌🏻

Lovely lunch on November first, after a very nice walk along the Danube we found this lovely restaurant: fantastic area, delicious food, friendly and quick service… great atmosphere! The fish and chips were delicious, so the pasta with sea food, can warmly recommend!

Disappointing Experience Despite Beautiful Setting – Das Bootshaus Wien I recently visited Das Bootshaus Wien with my family to celebrate my husband's birthday. I had made a reservation well in advance and even followed up by email to confirm specific arrangements for the occasion—such as a specially prepared table and pre-selected wine. I received a written confirmation, so I expected everything to be ready. Unfortunately, when we arrived, none of the agreed preparations had been made. There was no wine waiting, and the table was not set up as requested. On top of that, we waited over 30 minutes just to place our order. Although there were many staff members present, the service was disorganized and lacked coordination. It felt chaotic and inattentive throughout the evening. The food itself was good, and the view is undeniably beautiful, but the overall experience was greatly diminished by poor service and long wait times. It's a shame because with better organization and attention to detail, this could have been a truly special evening.

Overall a good experience. Came here for the goose, which was excellent. Great service, nice ambience. However, the desert was mediocre at best as the core of the chestnut pastry was still frozen.

Unfortunately, I left quite disappointed. I had been looking forward to visiting this place for a long time—it’s quite a journey from where we live, and my expectations were high. On a positive note, the ambience is lovely, both indoors and outside. The setting definitely sets the stage for a great experience. However, the food fell short. The fish and chips were probably the best dish we ordered, and even that was just average. The batter was thick and lacked the satisfying crispness that defines good fish and chips. The fries were quite greasy and underwhelming. The paella was especially disappointing—the rice was undercooked and there was no sign of the golden crust (socarrat) that gives this dish its character. The lamb skewers were tiny (individual pieces were like 1.5 cm cubes) —and unsurprisingly, the meat itself was dry. Service was slow, even though it was a quiet Monday evening, and overall, the prices felt unjustified given the quality of food and service. Sadly, despite the great atmosphere, we won’t be returning. 😔

Yelp
The best thing about this restaurant is it's location, the floating terrace, and the cool interior with rowing skulls mounted on the ceiling. Very nice. As with many scenic spots, the food and service are not up to par with the setting. First the food...Meh. Chewy octopus, fried not sautéed, Calamari fried correctly but devoid of any flavor, the Fish & Chips were passable, but not worth a separate trip. The best items we ate were the exceptional fries, their truffle mayo and their lemon mayo. Drinks are expensive, but in line with other popular places. Finally, service. I had made online reservations a week early for a Saturday table. I followed up with a personal email requesting (if possible) a nice table to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived (to a half empty restaurant) I mentioned to a waiter who approached us that we had a reservation for 2. He didn't check any reservations list, just motioned us to a table in the main isle surrounded by two families with loud/noisy children. No offense for the kids, they are kids. The parents were, shall I say "laissez-faire", again not my business. That said, it is the business of the service staff. They all heard, saw, and even interacted with the children, with zero concern for the other guests. If someone had referenced our reservation request maybe it would have dawned on them that this location wasn't conducive to an anniversary dinner. In conclusion, on a warm evening sit on the terrace, enjoy a drink then go elsewhere for a nice meal.
