Das Schindler

Good lunch restaurant located in the city center of Innsbruck, along the pedestrian Maria-Theresien-Strasse. This place is very lively and crowded with tourists. However, the restaurant is on the first floor and offers a beautiful view of the pedestrian street, its magnificent buildings, and has a good atmosphere. The staff is professional and efficient, the food is Italian and while good, it's nothing too fancy. The menu is a fixed price at lunch, you can choose between 4-5 options.

It wasn’t easy to find the restaurant, it’s not actually inside the shopping centre, but at a separate entrance before it, on the first floor. That said, the food was very good and it made for a great final meal in Innsbruck.

My sister was in town so we decided on a visit to "Das Schindler", one of my favorite Lunch Restaurants in Innsbruck. They serve a fixed lunch menu and you can decide between four different courses, either 2 course or 3 course lunch. There is always a Vegetarian meal available too. After we ordered our beverages, 1 glass of Prosecco and 1 beer and a mineral water, the waiter asked what we had decided on. My sister and I both chose the Shrimp Satay, a delicate appetizer with a hint of spicy Indonesian flavor, shrimps and some delicious veggies. My wife ordered the salad which looked very fresh and she said it tasted scrumptious. As our main course we ordered three different dishes. The traditional "Wiener Schnitzel" and potato salad. The Schnitzel was a pork cutlet. I ordered the Beef Goulash with "Spaetzle" and the meat was incredibly moist and well cooked, the sauce had a touch of mild paprika, just enough, but not too much. I really enjoyed it very much. The grilled Salmon filet was served on black rice and was so tender it melted in the mouth. The total bill for three people, including tips ended up being 90 Euros, well worth the visit and the quality of the food. I always enjoy going to "Das Schindler", however this time there was one thing that kind of bugged me. I am used to excellent service there, but this time the waiter was efficient but very impersonal. That was the only disappointing detail.

restaurant in the center of Innsbruck, beautiful and elegant venue, adequate service. modern cuisine which however is not worth, dishes well presented but not well executed. prices above average.

You clearly pay for the restaurant’s location. We are used to fine dining and it was not. All ingredients are fresh and local which is a good point, unfortunately there’s a big issue with seasoning : no salt or pepper in any of the dishes we ordered, everything was very bland. Sorbets were very good but that was the only part of the dessert we enjoyed : the apple cake strongly tasted like egg and the baba au rhum didn’t smell or taste like rhum, it was a simple cake. Waiters didn’t seem very knowledgeable as I asked for a local drink or alcohol and he offered me apero spritz which is Italian

Good Wienerschnitzel, the salad and potato sides could definitely use some improvement. The waiter seemed to rush us through in the beginning of our dinner, but as the restaurant became busy the rush decreased. Very good location.

Tasty cuisine with high-quality ingredients and interesting flavours. We enjoyed our lunch a lot. Service was very attentive and helpful. Will definitely come back again.

Super centrally located with a modern feel, this place had a very delicious schnitzel with veal. It was so good, I ate half of it by forcing my partner to share with me. I, on the other hand (unclear why) ordered a generous portion of their Caesar's salad, which turned out to taste great, but I decided to add the smoke chicken breast on it, which was not the best decision. So I'd recommend just ordering the salad without the add-ons because it's delicious just the way it is. In addition, for those of you who appreciate wine come by this place, try the gelber Muskateller. Delicious.

This restaurant has good food, great service, and has great views since it is located on the second floor of the bulding. Location-Great location, right in the Alstatdt area but no too touristy. Food- the food was great. Fusion with some German and Austrian specialities, one of these being the schnitzel, which was from veal and quite good. The fish tartare was phenomenal, as was the beef tartare. The desserts were great too, the sorbet as well as the apple dessert. Ambience- very trendy, modern, and nice, but sophisticated. They have a smoking lounge, which is separated, so the restaurant doesn't smell like cigarettes. Service- classic, polite, prompt Price-it's pricy but somewhat worth it if you're like us and want good food with a trendy, but not stuffy ambience, which can be a problem. We came in casual clothes(short sleeve tshirt) and did not feel out of place.

I want to start by saying that there aren't many options if you're in Innsbruck for multiple nights. The food at Das Schindler is good, but not spectacular. I dined here twice (both dinners). I got the steak as my entree both times. Their menu is limited, but they do it pretty well. The first night I had the tuna appetizer and the second night I had a salad. They were both good, but again, nothing to write home about. I think this is one of the best restaurants in Innsbruck (from what I've heard) and it definitely gets the job done. I would eat here again over any of the other restaurants I tried in town (except Wirsthaus Schoneck but that is a special occasion meal for sure).
