DasPosthotel, an SLH Hotel

Our family of four just spent the week of Christmas at Das Post Hotel. This hotel is fantastic. The staff goes out of their way to ensure that your visit is perfect. We stayed in one of the 3 room suites. Everyone had plenty of space which our two teenagers greatly appreciated. Skiing at the nearby Zillertal Arena is extremely easy. Walkable in 15 minutes or 4 minutes by the ski bus. As a guest of the hotel you have access to complimentary ski lockers right at the base of the gondola. The lockers have integrated boot and glove dryers, which is brilliant. After skiing, we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and sauna each afternoon. We booked in to the restaurant Die Marie for the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner, which was excellent. The bar is open until midnight each night which is great if you fancy a late night cocktail or glass of wine before bed. The breakfast every morning is perfect. I highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to returning one day.

We stayed at DasPosthotel for 3 nights from 23rd to 26th December 2025. We booked the Magic for Christmas package for the full stay. Room: we stayed in the sky loft suites (Hendrick). The views from the room were excellent. The bathtub with a view was a great addition. We loved the spacious feeling. The beds were two separate ones pushed together. When we checked in we were told we could have something to put on top of the bed to reduce the "gap", we said we wanted this but it never arrived which was disappointing. The TV in the room had a netflix button but when we tried to log in only the audio would play, we reported this to reception and was told someone would look into it, but this never happened. The rooms got very warm at night but this was easily addressed by opening the window/door or using the AC. There was a fridge in the room however you had to use the app to request items for the minibar. The rooms were tidied up each morning (I wouldn't say they were thoroughly cleaned each day). Bathroom facilities in the room were great the shower included a sauna which we did not get the chance to use. The toiletries offered were also very nice and natural. We couldn't work out how to turn on the heater towel rail or the extractor fan so the bathroom did steam uoa kit when showering. Having a separate WC is always a bonus. Overall we were happy with the room however compared to other luxury hotels we have stayed this fell short. Magic at Christmas Package: we paid 2,000GBP for 2 people for 3 nights under this package. It was great as it included lots of perks such as Xmas cookies on arrival which was a lovely touch that we enjoyed.The magic of Christmas package also included a 50 euro voucher for a spa treatment. When we tried to book there was little availability as it was very busy, they managed to squeeze me in for a manicure which was 80 euros and in my opinion was not worth it. It was not a very good manicure, although the nail tech was lovely and I enjoyed the relaxation time. The package also included full access to the spa and facilities. We were supposed to also get a carriage ride with mulled wine, when we checked in we were not informed when to book this or when it would be happening. The next day we asked reception and was told that we had missed it but someone would come and talk to us about another time to book. We asked again at reception the next day and was told someone would speak to us but this didn't happen however they were kind enough to compensate us on check out. Food: The magic at Christmas package included breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet was very well stocked and you could order egg dishes from the kitchen. The dinners were really great and we enjoyed all the meals very much. The drinks / alcohol were an additional cost (in total we spent an additional 500euros although we did have alcohol through the day and with our meals. The Magic at Christmas package also included an afternoon tea at the neighbouring/partner hotel MarlisGarden which was one of the highlights for us. We actually thought it would have been better to stay at that hotel than the posthotel. Staff: all the staff were friendly. They were busy and managed dinner service timings well for the Christmas night. However for the non Christmas dinner nights, food service was a little slow. The bar tender (Simone) was exceptional, very friendly and entertaining and made great cocktails. Overall for a luxury hotel we did expect more especially when compared to other stays we have had. We were content with our stay but was disappointed with some of the things mentioned above 7/10.

There is a lot to like about this hotel, but some improvements could be made.||The hotel is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, but a few aspects didn’t feel luxurious. ||On the positive side, we had great service from most of the staff. Our luggage was taken to our room and our car parked for us while we had a welcome drink. ||There were however a couple of occasions where staff acted like we were a nuisance, despite it being nearly empty. It didn’t always feel warm and friendly, and sometimes it felt like they weren’t used to seeing two men on holiday together. ||Our room was spacious and we were grateful for an upgrade to a pool view. The bed was comfortable, but we struggled to sleep as the room was far too warm all through the night, even with the fan that we had to request. ||Apparently the hotel is working on installing air con, but to not have it did not feel like luxury to us. I had to sleep with only the sheet for the duvet and even then I was too warm. ||There is some kitchen equipment but no coffee available. We were told that we could order what we wanted, but sometimes you want to wake up and enjoy a coffee on the balcony without having to call someone. ||We were sent information about cuisine, but only one restaurant option was open to us because the sister hotel was closed. This ruled out the fine dining option that we wanted for our honeymoon. We were not told about this before we arrived. ||It also meant that we struggled to get a spa treatment at a time that suited us. I don’t know how they were so full; we saw less than 10 other guests the entire time. This was a major disappointment as only one of us could get a facial. ||The food was tasty. Breakfast had a good number of options and a hot choice. We had dinner one night and it was delicious. We enjoyed our drinks too, but wine was overpriced and there was no English menu. ||The spa area is clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed that a lot. The gym was small and basic though. | |The pool area is lovely but it does not get a lot of sun and it is overlooked by apartments. ||Overall we had a pleasant stay but we booked this hotel expecting luxury and instead received something more basic. ||We have experienced better elsewhere and most likely wouldn’t return.

We stayed at DasPosthotel this summer for 10 days and this were 10 very good days. The service of the staff, the room, the breakfast and all the other facilities, very good! Thank you for all making our stay at your hotel one to remember.

My husband and I stayed here for a long ski weekend. We had never heard of the resort before and took a gamble as this was a last minute booking. ||The hotel was fabulous, luxurious, quality decor and very attentive staff. We stayed in one of the loft rooms which was spacious and had mountain views on both ends (with a sunken bath to relax in whilst looking at the view!). The room even had a small kitchen, basic but unexpected and surprisingly useful (one night we bought some wine, bread and cheese and ate in our room). ||Breakfasts were amazing, with a vast array of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries along with eggs cooked to order. ||We ate dinner in the hotel twice. The food was expensive but high end, using quality and locally sourced ingredients. There are other cheaper places to eat, but they tend to be in other hotels. ||Skiing - there’s a ski bus that runs every 20 mins ish right next to the hotel, which takes 5 mins to the main gondola up to the slopes. All the ski lifts were really quick so we were able to cover a large area despite the poor weather conditions (fog / mist). ||The hotel is on the main road through the town, and next to the railway line. I didn’t notice the noise at all. ||We had a a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend a his hotel. Thank you

Our ski vacation at Posthotel was an unforgettable experience! As one of the few 5-star hotels in Austria, the property excels with exceptional service—from the warm reception to the restaurant that impresses with its excellent price-performance ratio and outstanding quality. As a passionate foodie who frequently dines at renowned fine dining establishments worldwide, I can confidently say that the culinary offerings here are truly remarkable. The extensive wine list leaves nothing to be desired.||Additionally, the complimentary parking and spacious, freely accessible parking garage add to the convenience. The hotel's immediate proximity to the Zillertal Arena makes it the ideal base for a perfect ski vacation. A flawless experience that truly stands out!

Just got back from a week's stay at this wonderful hotel in the picturesque village of Zell. From the moment I walked through the door and was greeted by Lea on reception, to the day I left, I loved staying here. It's very near to the ski bus stop which is then just a few minutes ride away from the lovely Zillertal Arena ski area, but also near enough to the local train to get to the other ski areas in the valley. All the staff were great and attentive. I took advantage of the two days of ski guiding with Johannes, a fantastic guide who helped me achieve two of my goals - to ski the glacier area at Hintertux and to do the complete Arena circuit from Zell to Krimml and back. The spa area and pool are exceptional and a great way to relax and recover after a day of skiing. I would highly recommend and can see myself returning many times in the future.

The finest hotel experience I have ever had in my life. The guests are treated like royalty, the rooms are beyond beautiful and the amenities beyond belief. Well worth the cost of the room and I recommend this hotel highly.
