Wylie and Rum, Mai Kitchen, and Postino Wine Care Open in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"A second location of the popular Northside Drive Jamaican and jerk spot has opened on Camp Creek Parkway, taking over a former Church’s Chicken and adding indoor seating. The menu mirrors the original, featuring the well-liked jerk chicken and wings, plates of oxtails, curry and brown stew, escovitch meals, and hoagies stuffed with jerk chicken and pork." - Beth McKibben

On the south side of Atlanta we love all types of food so it was no problem to check this place out. I had heard about their original location on Northside drive but never had the opportunity to patronize the business. I was happy to see them come to our area. I ordered food through Uber eats one day because I was tired of the regular chicken wings, Pizza etc I can say I was not disappointed. I ordered the jerk chicken rice and peas and a side of macaroni and cheese and a side of kale. I like the fact that the main plate was actually a round aluminum pan and not one of those styrofoam containers. The food came hot and fresh. The chicken was not dry. So many times jerk chicken or Caribbean food comes out dry for whatever reason. That was not the case. The chicken also was not super spicy. When you hear the term jerk you automatically think of too hot to eat or rather too spicy to eat. That was not the case with this dish. The sauce was delicious and it had a tinge of something sweet which made it even better for me. The recipes were cooked thoroughly the peas were not hard. The cabbage was cooked to tenderness and it was not mushy and it was not crunchy it was just right. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and full of cheese, seasoned and even the kale was very good it was slightly gritty though. However I ate it. All in all I will go to this place again.

New Jamaican spot on Campcreek, so we tried it out. It was just ok. I got the Jerk chicken with peas and rice and cabbage. It was $17 for a small plate. My son got the oxtails which was close to $30 and they only have one size. There were more rice than peas for both plates. The cabbage was good. They give you jerk sauce for the jerk chicken. The oxtails were good and tender. Overall the food was ok but needs more seasoning. The restaurant is in a bad spot next to an abandoned lot and a storage unit facility. Many other restaurants have tried this location and failed. So if they don't upgrade marketing and the vibe, I'll give them a year. Customer service was great. I wish them the best of luck.

Loved it! Food was delicious and huge portions. It’s true that it is a bit pricey but so is everything else right now. And I don’t mind paying for quality. Will definitely return. The only Jamaican spot near me where I live is the typical chain Jamaican joint so I was happy to find a local owned spot. The food and flavor is always better .

I ordered the oxtails that came with rice and beans and greens. The oxtails were very tender and full of flavor. The gravy was so savory. It was deliciously seasoned. I will be back to try more. Im glad I didnt go by the reviews on here and gave this place a chance!

I placed my order online and the pickup time was 20 minutes. I ordered the Large Jerk Chicken Meal that comes with rice and peas and your choice of steamed cabbage or cabbage salad and plantains. The plantains are by request but no extra charge. The jerk seasoning is everything! The plantains are so delicious! And the meat…you can taste the smoke flavor and you receive sooooo much! I love two-fer meals (some now and some later). But this meal is a three-fer. I will definitely order again especially being only 5 mikes away.

Man oh man, they opened one closer to my house! @datfirejerksouth lots of parking, clean interior, great service and friendly staff. Go check out the Camp Creek Location. Only one suggestion I had for them was to get hardough bread to serve with the jerk chicken…no complaints the coco bread work just as well!

I placed a catering order online with ease. The order was ready as stated when it was time to pick it up. Most importantly, the food was hot and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the food and had several positive compliments.

I read all the reviews & was skeptical for a minute but I was hungry hell & had to take a chance. It’s pretty good. Cabbage 🥬 was decent but I was content. I had the curry, chicken, rice, cabbage & plantains.
