"This sky-high eatery might have the best view in town. Perched on the 34th floor of the RSA Trustmark Bank Building, Dauphin’s is a Mobile date night favorite thanks to the sweeping vistas, as well as French Creole-meets-Caribbean fare and a lively piano bar. Menu standouts include fried mojo alligator and fresh catch glazed with a signature Caribbean spiced rum sauce. Dauphin’s jazz brunch is also a crowd-pleaser, especially for locals entertaining out-of-town guests." - Sarah Bisacca

We had a lunch reservation for 12:15 on a Friday. We walked in and no one was behind the hostess desk for a few minutes. As a result, I looked around me and noticed how the carpet needed vacuuming. Finally someone came out and was friendly and seated us. We had made a reservation but I thought the place was empty based ok how quiet it was so didn’t mention it. After being seated and noticing tables with better views I asked the server if we could have a better view since there were 4 2-person tables open. We got a better view and then waited for a while for a server to show up. I think they were understaffed because everyone was very personable but it was quite slow. No big deal as we were not in a rush. We finally got our drinks and food and bread. The bread was great with 2 types of butter. The food was good but not quite up to what I expected based on the reviews. I would say this is a great lunch place but I’m not sure I would want to spend the dinner prices there based on the food being more good than great. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back. PS love the $4 mini desserts for lunch. Great idea (see the pictures)

We had an amazing experience for my birthday dinner. The fried green tomato dish was perfection. The contrast in the hot tomato and the chilled shrimp was incredible. The swordfish was well prepared and flavorful. The prime steak had a perfect char on the outside while being tender and the correct internal temperature. The desserts are as delicious as they are beautiful. My favorite is the creme brulee. Definitely make a reservation and give them a try.

Service excellent, clean, professional knowledgeable and attentive GM Anthony, excellent at customer care & service. Atmosphere--- TOP NOTCH, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, neat & clean place!!! FOOD---(LUNCH) POOR! Well maybe semi-bad. Crab claws were good (MKT price) entree cold chicken w/ marinade poured on the plate (yes, marinade, not a gravy or cream) - shrimp & grits were not good. Grits were great, but the roux w the meats was a hard "no" - greens were not good either. The restaurant needs to decide the cuisine. Those collard greens had no business on the menu, tasting like that. Shrimp tacos were good, minus the cheddar cheese & Catalina spray bottle brought to us to use. Toasted tortilla, great tasting shrimp, cabbage, cheese (should have used a creamy cheese or cojita) food was a let down with such an exquisite view. Meh. I really hope they can get a better trained chef.

In town for work and decided to check out the best restaurant view in Alabama. The food didn’t disappoint — I had a Wedge Salad as a starter then had the Rasta Pasta as my main. Plenty of shrimp in the dish and packed with flavor. Will be back in the future with my wife.

Google
Great Grub. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Was there with a group. We had several appetizers, spinach dip, crab claws, fried green tomatoes with shrimp on top, and the cheese plate. Then had a ceaser salad. Then for the entree had the prime ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert I had a couple bites of the cream brulee with priesters pecan twill. Then they brought out the smoking bon bons as a thank you. Everything was incredible. And the 34th floor view of Mobile was amazing. And Linda took great care of us...she was super nice and have top notch service.

Google
Thank you, Ken, lovely, professional, welcoming service for out of towners. My husband was under dressed and they gave him a dinner jacket to wear during dinner it was hilarious because it was too small for him, but the gesture was so nice because we would've have had to sit in the lounge area.

Google
We went to celebrate our anniversary and it was perfect. You can not beat the view and atmosphere of the restaurant. I had a filet and my husband had fish. Our server, Nay, was excellent and very helpful in answering questions about the meal. It was a perfect evening. My only complaint was that I ordered black and blue topping for my filet. Unknown to me, it had horseradish in it, which I hate. Horseradish is a very strong ingredient to not include in the description. Not a big deal, I just skipped it.

Yelp
The service is always A-1. The food is delicious and the views and ambience is TOP TIER. Dauphin's is a fine dining restaurant in Mobile, Alabama, known for its upscale Creole and Southern-inspired cuisine. Located on the 34th floor of the Trustmark Building, it offers stunning panoramic views of Mobile Bay. The menu features fresh Gulf seafood, prime steaks, and classic dishes with a modern twist. It's quite affordable. I have been for both lunch and dinner... Dauphin's never disappoints! This time I tried- Corky's Granny's Conecuh Tomato Gravy over Saffron(yellow) rice with a side of side of southern greens. It was a hit. Comforting and savory I tired Sangue Di Giuda, Sweet Red, Lombardy... it was just the right amount of sweet, light and fruit! A nice red wine. All and all everything was great!!

Yelp
We've dined at the Dauphin's a few times before during previous visits to Mobile, AL and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit during Memorial Day weekend was a bit of a letdown. While the service was okay, the food left much to be desired. The main issue was the white fish of the day limon style, which was overcooked ~ extremely dry and hard with a side of overcooked, slimey asparagus. This was quite disappointing, especially since it's a dish I've enjoyed here in the past. However, the rest of the items we ordered were pretty good, maintaining the quality I've come to expect. I have to add that portions are above average size so if you're looking to try dessert, you may want to skip appetizers. One consistent highlight is the view from the 34th floor, which is simply amazing and adds a wonderful ambiance to the dining experience, especially during sunset. The cocktail with thyme is also great. Overall, this visit was not as impressive as previous ones, but I hope it was just an off night for the kitchen. We may give it another chance due to the beautiful setting and the generally good food we've had in the past. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I'd only be able to give it 3 stars.

Yelp
What a LOVELYYYYY Brunch experience. Wow! I am truly astounded by the views, service and prices! Being from Atlanta, this experience would have EASILY cost 2x-3x as much. At Dauphin's you get what feels like a 5 star experience for an affordable price. We were so pleased with our experience (and our server Stevie P was a delight!). Can't wait to come back here and try out lunch and dinner. If you come, you HAVE to try the beignets! And ask for window seating because the view is amazing.

Yelp
Dauphin's is supposed to be one of the nicer places for dinner around town, but I'll admit I was not impressed by the service or food. The view was beautiful, and the dress code was nice but not enforced. We checked the website and called to verify about the open-toed shoes, and all the dress code rules were reiterated. We were happy to oblige. Upon entering there were several folks wearing hats, some wearing jeans, and a few wearing shorts-- all against their "dress code policy." Okay. Our server was nice but seemed very anxious or unsure. It took a long time to place drink orders, then my drink was spilled on the table and phones when placed in front of me. No help or apology to clean up. Our food orders were taken in the most random order, and one member was skipped altogether. Our server had to come back to get his order. Lastly, out of all six of us eating here, only two people actually enjoyed their meals. The oysters weren't great; the flounder tasted as if it was not fresh but frozen; one of the filet mignon entrees looked like a tiny meatball and was bland as ever; and the tres salsas fish entree was a bust for both people that ordered it. The price wasn't the problem; the value isn't there. This place is striving to be fine dining but missing the mark on truly achieving it. This meal was a celebratory outing, yet it was not very well enjoyed by the group. It's a shame, really. We'd have had a better meal going to Baumhower's for wings!

Yelp
We made a reservation, so we got sat fairly quickly. But there was a large party happening in one section of the restaurant and our server was taking care of us.And um, I believe participating in taking care of that large party and I felt like we got put on the back burner because yeah, we were not the large party, so that was a bit disappointing. I had to ask three times for more water. And the food was okay at best.. i think this place is a little too hyped up. And I might have been expecting a lot more from the service in the food.

Ivy C.

Yelp
Food, service and the view were all top drawer! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Donna R.

Yelp
March 29 dinner service was excellent with a party of seven. Our server Crow took great care of the table and everyone enjoyed shared appetizers, desserts, mains and cocktails. I have enjoyed lunches, brunches, and now a dinner service here and all were beyond reproach. Admittedly my dining partners on these occasions many times are favorite people adding to the experience, but non pressured and paced dining (especially hosting teens in prior years) as well as thoughtful servers and a beautiful room adds to the experience. I love Mobile restaurants who smartly present her story through food and this is one of them. Always a pleasure!

Yelp
The prettiest view in Mobile - day or night. Upscale atmosphere that had a piano player singing in the lounge area, but not too loud that we couldn't converse. It was packed on a Thursday evening but service was attentive. We were a larger group for a business dinner. Delicious bread with a hibiscus butter. Appetizers included fried green tomatoes, alligator bites in a sweet Thai chili sauce, and crab claws. All great to share. Tasty soup du jour was a creamy potato soup and wedge salads were good with bacon and a blue cheese dressing. Filets were prepared perfect temps served with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Huge portions on the Shrimp & Grits. One guest got the fish grilled. Although we did not have room for dessert, a fun presentation of cold chocolate mints were provided. Great for business or a date night, and a perfect way to view the city lights.

Eugenie B.

Yelp
Awesome service, outstanding views, Jazz music playing, and so so relaxing. It's a nice break when driving to Florida. Our party of six were quite pleased to find this restaurant. Thank you Dale for chatting us up! Delightful conversation.

Sophie Jane K.

Yelp
Amazing experience! We had the most beautiful view and the ambiance was incredible. The food was so so good too. We got the crawfish cakes as an appetizer too and they were delicious. The service was decent and our servers were friendly and kind.

Laura P.

Yelp
This restaurant is spectacular! Couple callouts: -shrimp and corn soup-YUM -poke bowl-could have come straight from the big island! -crème brûlée-outstanding! -incredible views! -our server Alison-THE BEST!

Eric B.

Yelp
A usual we sat at the bar. Jessie the bartender was a delight. The staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. I got here grumpy and they changed my mood to happy locality-split. The beer selecting although canned was great local, regional, and all the usual suspects beers. Wine list made my wife happy. Kept seeing yummy cocktails going out. Fair whiskey selecting. Moderate gin grouping. From the crab claw appetizer, to a lovely Baldwin spinach salad we were really delighted. They have the food down. The tacos and the shrimp on grits were super. And the decent key lime pie topped it all off. The view is spectacular all the way around. Would love to come here again.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service at the bar was phenomenal. The happy hour specially were very high end. The atmosphere is very classy, intimate and good for an impressive date

Nunnie A.

Yelp
Harley was our server. She was so polite and attentive. She was knowledgeable in the menu options and made great suggestions. As for atmosphere, it is very chill and the pianist was amazing. It was nice to have conversation with my date and take in the ambiance of the scenery. Our food was amazing. We highly recommend the Bon Secour and the Rasta Pasta!

Bill K.

Yelp
Dine here periodically, but mostly for apps since the main fare hasn't show well. Lunch today - reading off the menu, and five items were all very good - step in the right direction. Waitress was not good. Slow service - inadequate service that probably cost the restaurant (at least) five more cocktails and maybe more but she couldn't be found. Rating up - heading proper direction. Chef is better - staff is not.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times, once my wife and I the second time there was four of us. Both times all of us enjoyed our meals. The first time we were there my wife and I both had the dolphin or mahi-mahi. The second time most of us had something different, I had the fillet, which was excellent.great atmosphere and views of the city. Great service both times.

Michael M.

Yelp
Everything was good!!! The biscuits and butter appetizer was good. The Joe Cain Dip Appetizer was good! Both Entrees were good. I think the portion size of the Beef Grillades was lacking. This was not the case with the Banana Dock's French Toast. It was a good portion size. Great presentation. I ate the island bread pudding so quickly that I forgot to take a pic. It was outstanding. Received great service from Monica. As far as the ambiance it was not as nice as we expected it would be. We went for the Sunday brunch. Maybe it has a better vibe at night.

Carlee W.

Yelp
Great place for fine dining! We went for a friend's birthday and they were very accommodating to us, even with a large group. Service was excellent and the drinks were fantastic as well!! My filet mignon was delicious and cooked just right!! They also had my favorite wine, that is hard to find. The view is spectacular, especially at night!! I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fine dining experience!

Susan V.

Yelp
Such a fabulous destination for our lunch in Mobile. The view from the 34th floor is spectacular. And the food was amazing. We both had the shrimp chowder and the Cajun paella, both were full of favor and a manageable portion. Live in Mississippi but we will definitely be back. And our server was delightful as well.

Julia R.

Yelp
The view is absolutely breathtaking! I went to lunch with a group of coworkers and could barely focus on conversation because I just wanted to stare out the windows. The food was great as well. A generous portion for lunch and at an affordable price.

Don W.

Yelp
Excellent service. You could tell John, our waiter enjoys what he does. Food was excellent. Swordfish was cooked perfectly. My wife had the shrimp restaurant pasta without the rasta or peppers. It was excellent. The entire staff was attentive. Highly recommended.

Chris L.

Yelp
Awesome and affordable brunch and service was excellent. We went on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all.

Sara W.

Yelp
Attended for brunch, the food was underwhelming but the views are excellent. We didn't have the greatest service but the saxophone player was fabulous.

Synergy Realty Group K.

Yelp

Vicky L.

Yelp
Food is great with reasonable prices. Attentive service. Excellent view. Reservation highly recommended.

Mindy R.

Yelp
Best lunch, great views of Mobile Reasonably price. The home made hibiscus coconut butter is to die for, a must have. Great service by Ken

Dawn B.

Yelp
Really great lunch specials. The view is spectacular. The food delicious. The service refined. Highly recommend.

W.S. W.

Yelp
I have not been but find it quite odd that Bob B. as owner only replies to the positive reviews. Guess he doesn't care that some patrons did not enjoy the experience. Makes me not want to take the gamble.

Denise C.

Yelp
It's like eating a meal in the clouds... especially the night I was there with almost 100% fog. This made for an ethereal, enchanting experience. It was a hard choice on my entree but I went with Port Royal chicken, served on a bed of rice, green tomatoes and zucchini. The chicken was cooked well and seasoned perfectly, swimming in a pool a pepper jelly sauce. My only complaint would be undercooked rice and zucchini. Some of the rice was hard and really crunchy. The happy hour drinks ($9.00 cocktails) were a hit. I ordered the Thyme Out made with vodka, thyme syrup, elderflower, lemonade and pomegranate liquor. The flavors danced on my palette with the thyme rounding out with a bit of savory. I also had a Cuban Mule. Not to sweet, but not as good as the Thyme. Great ambiance and a lovely, attentive server.

Hakim M.

Yelp
Was here for dinner but got great views. This is a lovely place and the manager was very friendly and inviting. The food was good and the service was fast.. sorry I was caught up in the skyline!

Sana K.

Yelp
Had the best seat in the house imo somehow. First time here. It was on the top floor of the moon pie building. It sat just across from the tallest building in mobile. I apologize I don't know their names. The city was lit up in purple (my fav color )for mardi gras. Beautiful views of the skyline and water. Would have been nice to see it during sunset. Bread service came with flavored butters but I ordered the original. Not that hungry so ordered crab claws. They were delicious! Got complimentary dessert which they gave everyone. Not sure if this happens nightly or special occasion? Must do in mobile!! All around windows to take in the views! Would love to come back and try other food. Live music as well!

Stephen S.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Amazing 34th floor view of downtown Mobile and Mobile River.

Rebecca Q.

Yelp
Beautiful view ! Breathtaking ! The food was delicious and server was very kind And accommodating ! Will go again

Daryl G.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Very good flavors and variety. Not your average restaurant. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Prompt service too, excellent view.

Sarah W.

Yelp
This review is only for lunch. They may be more focused on dinner. The prices were great for lunch and the views were cool! The food was just ok. Overall, it felt very outdated.

Michele R.

Yelp
Met some college friends here for dinner. Food and service both excellent. I had Ahi Tuna Steak and it was yummy! Everyone at our table loved their food choice. The view from the 34th floor is breathtaking! Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! Will definitely return if we are in Mobile again!

K W.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for a drink and dessert. Old Fashioned and Key Lime Pie met my expectations.

Sherron G.

Yelp
Small plates but the food is great, service is always outstanding, and the atmosphere is very romantic with amazing views.

Alexa S.

Yelp
Hello Fellow Yelpers! I am in Alabama! I have loved my visit to Mobile, AL. I had dinner at Dauphins and it was amazing. The ambiance is chill and the view is spectacular. I ordered the Baldwin salad, the Rasta pasta with shrimp, and the Cuban mule. The Baldwin was tasty the strawberries were fresh and the goat cheese and walnuts was a great combination. The Rasta pasta was spicy but not too spicy so it's good for most folks to try. The Cuban mule was the best mule I have had thus far. I highly recommend you visit Dauphins. Tip: there is a dress code, therefore, dress accordingly. Also make a reservation. Lastly, it's on the 34th floor, I hope you're not afraid of heights.

Lee Ann S.

Yelp
This was our first time at Dauphin's, but it won't be the last. We went for our fourth anniversary and we had an amazing time. The staff was very polite and helpful and our server, Cody, was excellent! The food was beyond compare. Oh, and the drinks! Hubby had beer, and I got the mint julep. It was hands down the best one I'd ever had. In fact it was so good, I had another All in all, it was a most pleasurable experience!!

D W.

Yelp
Fabulous views Fabulous service Fantastic cocktails A unique experience in downtown Mobile Food good Cocktails fantastic

Della N Jason J.

Yelp
It was so good! A Father's Day dinner with my family and the views was a beautiful scenery of the Mobile Bay Area.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
High prices with not so high food quality. The ambiance is top notch but it ends there. If this restaurant put a little more into the food quality they could be amazing. We didn't have a dish that blew us out of the water. I even returned a gumbo appetizer, which I've never done before at any restaurant. They were still packed out. I think this place can get away with it due to its fantastic views. One and done place in my opinion.

Dana P.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Nicole was on top of everything. The place was clean, the ambiance was perfect, and the experience all together was memorable and perfect. Thank you very much!!

T B.

Yelp
THE Company owner of Elevate Workforce took us there for lunch and the service was great, prices and view is awesome.. felt like I was truly Elevated!!!

Brad C.

Yelp
Amazing food with an amazing view. Went in on a Thursday without reservations, and we were seated right away. The service was very attentive. The Joe Caine dip appetizer is outstanding. Our meals were prepared perfectly.

Rhonda W.

Yelp
Ambiance was amazing. Cloth table coverings and napkins. Big band music playing plus an amazing view. Shrimp and grits were so delicious. Can't want to go back. And our server was so helpful and pleasant.

Alexia H.

Yelp
Came right at 4 for dinner on a Tuesday. Happy hour was still going on (3-6:30). My co workers and I aren't from the area and weren't aware of the dress code. Gentlemen have to wear collared shirts. So we couldn't sit in the main dining room, but we sat in the front area near the bar. I had the thyme out cocktail. It was a little sweet, but I don't mind sweet. We started off with the Junkanoo fries. Sooo good. That cheese sauce was delish. Ate them too fast to get a picture. My co worker had the poke, she enjoyed it. My other co worker had the Rasta pasta with chicken, he enjoyed that as well. And I had the port royal chicken. The chicken was packed with flavor. Rice was a little undercooked but over all I really enjoyed the dish. For dessert we shared the chocolate cake and the bread pudding. The chocolate cake was warm & delicious. The bread pudding was a bit of a let down. Service was great, very attentive. I'd come back.

Anna F.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is great! Definitely more upscale so make sure you dress appropriately! Service was amazing and their birthday treat was great!
