Google
We had a delivery problem the first time we ordered. Called the restaurant and talked to manager. They were using Door Dash so not thier problem. But the manager personally delivered our pizza to the Hotel with in 20 minutes. Wonderful pizza. Will order again when I St Paul.

Paul Economon

Google
Davannis pizza is still very good. It's probably the best pizza to eat leftover, so get a large. The service at the Grand Avenue establishment is not the best. And it's not for lack of employees because there's like 20 of them running around back there making pizzas (presumably).

A HV

Google
The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. We go with a large group once a week and they treat us really well. Thank you!!

Everett Gossard

Google
I’ve enjoyed the pizza here since 1995. It was a frequent “date night” spot when I was dating the woman who later became my wife. The pizza is solid. I especially love their deep dish white pizza, but I often ask for a sauce cup of their cheese bread dipping sauce for the crust.

Stefan Chellsen

Google
I have a soft spot in my heart for this pizza. White sauce with chicken and some veggies is truly great.

Paul Kyser

Google
Pizza was great. We had a party is the back and it was a nice space. I thought they would have plates and untisels back there at the least but we had to get our own at the front and they ran out so we got paper plates. Not a big deal but kind of annoying. Didnt cost anything for the room. Would totally do again. Shout out to Princess Party Pals. NICOLE WAS AWESOME.

Joe Haupt

Google
The pasta at Davanni's is very good and their prices won't break your budget. You make your selections at the counter and pick up your food when your name is called. The young woman at the counter who took our order was friendly and helpful as this was our first visit to the restaurant.

Justmari Beard-Goss

Google
I’ve never personally visited this establishment but got a salted caramel cookie that tasted horrible and was too salty! It didn’t quite look like the photo and was a lot smaller than the chocolate chip cookie.

Yelp
From the reservation to the actual day of our women's group! exceptional service!! Food was delicious! Chris the manager went above & beyond to make sure we were well taken care of! Diego served us with the best customer service!!! The restaurant was clean, comfy and easy to access!!! We will be back!!

Yelp
First pizza was amazing! Ordered same exact pizza two weeks later and it was all crust, a lot smaller diameter and a lot less toppings. Hoagies don't have much meat cheese or toppings on them for $11 sandwiches. Decent flavor.
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious and delivery was right on time. If you're looking for good, fresh, and hot pizza that isn't greasy -- this is the place!

M M.

Yelp
The hoagies are A1, cheaper and 2 notches up over Subway (I won't say no to subway though). Pizza is decent and affordable especially the variety of crusts and sizes. The hoagies and cheese bread are the way to go!
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Recently diagnosed with celiac disease :( BEST GLUTEN FREE PIZZA OUT THERE, OF ANY KIND! I just hope they figure out a hoagie bread alternative. I miss the hoagies a ton!

Aurora M.

Yelp
Their hoagies are my favorite. They toast them in the pizza oven and it just has the perfect crisp to it.
google avatar

Ralph M.

Yelp
Always a consistently good go-to local pizza chain. Our fave is the white sauce and I don't say that about any other place, usually preferring red sauce. Hand tossed crust is delicious, and chewy yet crisp. You can't go wrong. Deep dish is noteworthy as well. They got you covered for your hot hoagie cravings as well. They're also doing a great job at following COVID protocol as well, curbside if you wish and all staff are wearing masks.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this restaurant. I come here with my wife all the time. The hoagies are always hot and fresh. The service and ranch dressing are spectacular. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Customer service is great and everything was on time. I got the deep dish pizza and it was SO GOOD!!!!

Yelp
A great takeout location for pizza or hoagies. This restaurant is located at the far end of grand ave, very close to the college campus which brings a lot of traffic during lunch and dinner. The restaurant has a large dining room, seating arrangements are not intimate at all and the environment can get quite noisy during peak times. I have ordered take out hoagies, typically the whole turkey on wheat, no oil or mayo. The cheese is melted perfectly onto the toasted, yet moist roll and just enough turkey to make it a tasty filling sandwich. They also have some very large rice krispie bars for a filling desert. Call ahead and don't worry about giving them your real name, they typically get your name wrong and assign your meal a new one. They do have good pizza as well and provide delivery. For the are I would say this is one of the better producers of pizza and the price point is pretty spot on. Cheers!

Yelp
The original! For almost fifty years, this local pizza place in Grand Avenue in St Paul has been incredible, and so many people loved it that they spread out to (many) other locations. My personal favorite is the deep dish pizza (something that would take way too much time to do at home). People don't always realize how special it is to have an original right here in the neighborhood. Somehow, they've never gone crazy with prices, but rather, they've always kept things reasonable (but with terrific food!) Yes, they have other crusts, and calzones, and pizza by the slice, but my favorite will always be the deep dish. The people working there are always local kids, and the customers are often been going there for generations (with good reason!) I love it! If you are on the western side of Grand Avenue in St Paul, please check out this family-style pizzeria. You'll love it.

Yelp
Boyfriend and I tried to order online, but the coupon feature was glitching, as was the ordering part. Naturally, I called. The gal on the phone was very sweet (hence 2 stars and not one). She said this happens from time to time. I asked if they could honor the $3 off coupon I tried to use online. She asked her manager and he said "no". Not really condusive to good customer service on the manager's part. We canceled our order and ordered from Pizza Luce instead. For $5 more we got two specialty pizzas and now they have 2 new regular customers.

Jordy F.

Yelp
We got the meatball sub and calzone. But the real star was our server, Liam. He was very friendly, almost giddy to help his customers. His flair for life was refreshing. He was an expert on the menu, and helped guide us through our options.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I have had food delivered from Davanni's multiple times and there's a reason why we keep reordering: it's just that good. We always get Hot Hoagies and they're always delicious. Make sure that you don't skip getting the brownie! Also, sign up for their rewards program, because free food is the best food.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Zero stars!! You literally took the only reason why I come there often menu the Cuban sandwich!! Your employees tell me you don't have the stuff to make it anymore no ham no Pulled pork. What a joke will never be going back said I live in the neighborhood

Kathrine D.

Yelp
We catered a graduation party and had the best experience. The food and service was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We had lasagna, chicken alfredo, pizza and two salads. Thank you Davanni"s!
google avatar

Yelp
Great customer service at the counter. Online ordering a big plus with the ability to customize your orders. I am a big fan of online ordering and not having to hold while they are busy or become busy. Hot hoagies that satisfied my hunger and they are reasonably priced. I'm usually not a fan of hot hoagies, but Davanni's has a good selection. I like the sauce that they put on their hoagies especially the salami hoagie. Mine was terrific! This is the closest location to our home. I will be back to this location!
google avatar

Yelp
Davanni's is the best late night delivery food in the twin cities, period. Their hot hoagies, gnarly good pizza, and calzones are delivered at ridiculously competitive prices. They also offer a wide selection of choices but still manage to deliver on all of the quality. Every time I order delivery the food is delivered promptly and the food is pippin' hot, even on those oh so cold Minnesota nights dontchaknow. Definitely check out the roast beef hot hoagie (preferably on white), The Works calzone, or any pizza with anchovies (they have bomb anchovies).
google avatar

Yelp
Yup, good pizza, good sandwiches, decent service great place to bring the kids and the price is right. Like another reviewer posted, there is no denying it is good pizza, I am personally just not over the moon for it. I like it, I'm just not CRAZY about it. (I am CRAZY about Eden Pizza.) I'm here pretty frequently using the meeting room with a group or eating with the family, or hitting the joint with a sports team that has just ended their season. And I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Great location near UST. We walked over and enjoyed quick service as soon as we walked up to the counter. I had a warm hoagie on brown bread. It hit the spot. My dining partner had the half order of penne that came with garlic bread. All for under $10.00. Quick, easy, and tasted great.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered a large sausage pizza for me and my 4 kids. The total was $17.50 and the delivery man was very rude and wouldn't accept the offer of $14. The customer is always right. The service was so bad, he doesn't deserve the extra $3.50. I even offered a little but he still refused. MY GOD. This is so stupid. Never eating food from here again.
google avatar

Wes W.

Yelp
I've lived near this location for about a year now and I finally stopped by for a late night bite. I went in for a couple of slices, but it turns out they don't serve slices on weekends, so I went with just a basic pepperoni calzone. Boy was I disappointed. It was small, flat, doughy, greasy and just subpar in every way. I haven't tried their pizza or hoagies but after my calzone experience I just don't think I'm likely to return even if I'm looking for a late night drunk pizza.

Jon J.

Yelp
I have been a customer of theirs for years. It has been steadily going down Hill. Their lack seasons of people skills and attention to detail is the reason I'll never go back here again.

J.J. C.

Yelp
Effing love Davanni's. Why is it that pizza places always have the best sandwiches? I don't know, but Davanni's whips the llama's ass with a belt in each hand.
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza outside of Chicago! The deep dish crust is among my favorites, comparable if not better than some of Chicago's staple pizza joints. Service is always top notch, they are probably one of the fastest in the twin cities. It's no wonder, they have an entire college campus to feed just next door. Davannis does pizza the right way! The Chicken Florentine Pizza has become comfort food for me, being so far from home. You can't really go wrong here, whether you try their awesome hoagies, a classic take on deep dish pizza, or my favorite the "Fabulous Brownie".

Jay S.

Yelp
Me and the boys ordered some pizza from here today. Pizza arrived at least 10 minutes before the estimate! The delivery guy started to leave before we could pay, but as we are good Sunday school bois, we stopped him. Staff was kind on the phone and when we asked to have it delivered to the backyard, they did! Pizza was great and overall had a pleasant experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Davanni's serves consistently good pizza, whether it's deep dish or traditional, solo, or large, red sauce or white sauce. We had a half Chicken, Spinach, Gorgonzola and 1/2 Chicken & Roma Tomato with alfredo on the entire pizza today, and boy was it scrumptious. They also serve good hot hoagies, they have mix your own Coca-Cola beverage machines. This is close to St. Thomas for all those students and parents who might be visiting. The weird thing about the place is the microphone they use to shout out your name when the order is ready. Sometimes if the place is busy, it's hard to make out your name. Tip: give them a unique name. They know give you a buzzer as well, in case you miss your name. Good pizza!

Yelp
I want to preface with I love Davannis! They are always delicious and really fast delivery. This time I ordered pizza and cheese bread. My cheese bread got forgot, no biggie. The driver told me they would make me a fresh one and send it out. It was at my door before I could eat 2 slices and they threw in 2 free cookies. Thank you Davanni's, you have a loyal customer here!

Yelp
This is the grandfather Davanni's of them all and is a bit of a Twin Cities tradition. I worked here for almost 5 yrs back in high school and college. At the time, I always liked the food, the pizza and hoagies and even the salad bar. After I moved away, I made a point of stopping in whenever I was in town. Until recently. On my last trip to St Paul I didn't even bother cause the previous couple excursions just weren't that fabulous. I don't know if the ingredients have changed, or maybe I worked with vastly superior cooks back in the day, but the quality has definitely declined in the past few years. I would go back if someone else suggested it, but I wouldn't suggest it myself. Many changes have been made since I left this establishment. Changes to the menu as well as a thorough remodel and renovation. Though I believe 2 drivers I worked with are still there (one guy worked there back when it opened and the place was a quarter of the size)! One thing that has not changed: the deep dish pizza. You don't even want to know how much butter goes into those things, but they are delicious.
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
This place was a staple in my diet while at St. Thomas. Whether I was studying, hanging out, or out on a date this was a usual spot. The pizza and hoggies are Great if a bit more expensive than your standard papa johns or dominoz, but definitely worth every penny. The only down fall was that the wait for your food could get a little long for if they are busy... which is pretty often.
google avatar

Joelle P.

Yelp
I have never really understood why people like Davanni's so much. Maybe it's just me, but I'm just not feelin' their food at all.... -Their pizza...bleh, nothing special, kind of bland, the crust is boring and the sauce needs some work -Their pasta...meh, the meatballs are decent, but the sauce is not up to par at all and ruins the whole dish -Their hoagies...blegh, meh, blahhh, plain, boring, not enough flavor. -Their calzones...not bad! Not the very best calzone I've ever had, but they're tasty. The one thing I would recommend on their menu, but it does take a long time to bake (not a bad thing, but just a warning if you are in a rush) I feel like if there was better pizza in the area, or in walkable distance from the UST campus, Davanni's wouldn't be as popular. I mean, personally I'd rather get Pizza Hut, at least their pizza is cheap! Sorry to be so harsh Davanni's, your service has always been good and I'm a casual fan of your calzones, but your food just isn't that great, it doesn't stand out.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Davanni's is mostly known locally as a pizza place, and granted, their pizza is pretty darn good. But I have yet to be disappointed by their sandwiches. If you're trying to find a good lunch spot, DON'T skip Davanni's just because it's a pizza joint. They do lunch really well with an array of delicious hoagies, etc. I'm told their salads are good, too, but I've only had the very basic side salad. It was a salad. What more can I say. The atmosphere is as others have already described. Comfy, college-y, but not overbearingly so. I think this is the original Davanni's (someone correct me if I'm wrong), and it's basically a neighborhood staple in addition to being a popular college haunt. You'll see families, college kids, and adults of all ages. All in all, it's definitely worth the visit. Some people go crazy about Davanni's, and I'm not quite that head-over-heels about it, but it definitely gets the thumbs up.
google avatar

Mia K.

Yelp
Great old-timey college atmosphere, though you see all ages of people there (as a non-student I don't feel out of place at all). I recommend the meatball sub, if you're into those. SO GOOD. The deep dish is amazing too, and my boy is a fan of the calzone. I don't really think you can go wrong, honestly. They also deliver, which is nice, but during busy times it takes forever so you might as well just go pick it up. The food travels pretty well.
google avatar

Ericka A.

Yelp
This restaurant has saved my student sanity - what little is left of it. An oasis on campus when your choices are cold sandwiches or burgers. Davanni's is between 1/2 - 2 blocks from campus and great if you have about an hour and a half between classes. It is so easy to walk over and order. The service is fast and the longest I've had to wait was 20min. That was my fault, I ordered the lasagna. The lasagna is so amazing. The hoagies are delicious. I always get the chicken breast on wheat. They make WHEAT delicious. The best thing is that, if you're a UST student, you can use your Flex Account there. My Eastern European Club committee has held all of our meetings here.
google avatar

Cailin R.

Yelp
Okay, so although this is a chain restaurant, they make delicious delicious pizza. Crispy and doughy crust, cheese cheese cheese, and whatever toppings you can imagine. They have a fairly epic soda machine where you can flavor your soda differently. I'd never seen one of these before and was oddly impressed. Basically, if you're looking to pig out on some great pizza or subs, I'd recommend going here.
google avatar

Ninja S.

Yelp
I have yet to find a place in my travels that makes a hoagie on par with Davanni's. I was always a bit partial to the hoagie sandwitches than the pizzas which are still quite good. For your first time start with the basic perfection of the turkey hoagie.
google avatar

Alex I.

Yelp
I love Davanni's. That's all there is to it, their crust is just always so perfect, and their toppings are top notch. My wife and I like to order the Mediterranean, great with white sause. I also am a big fan of just classic sausage/pepperoni. Also, as other reviewers have said, their pop machine is EPIC.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
I love the deep dish! This is also a great place even if your not looking for pizza - they have great lasagna and hoagies. Also the staff is fun, and the music is always awesome!

Taylor T.

Yelp
Grew up here love this locally owned spot All through college this was my go to restaurant. now every time I come home reminds me of what good food is supposed to taste like. Thanks for being consistently satisfying
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
This is my place for pastrami hoagies and "The Works" (garbage pizza). When I say garbage I mean that in the best way possible, basically everything-on-it pizza...now that I am actually thinking about how I have been describing my favorite kind of pizza it is kind of grossing me out (visualizing actual garbage on my pizza). Forgive me, I digress, I normally would have given this particular location a higher rating, as this is my neighborhood joint, but the last time I came here for pizza later that night I felt like someone was pulling a sideways screwdriver through my intestines...not sure if a correctly oriented screwdriver would feel much better...in hind sight perhaps I should not have eaten the one slice of pizza that looked like it had been through Jason Biggs' personal pie party. Anywho, lived through it to Yelp another day.
google avatar

Eyal M.

Yelp
Good service, hoagie sandwich served hot was great! Even whithin rush hour the wait time was less than 10!

Paul S.

Yelp
I like their stuff well enough, but they need some stanchions to make the mess at the front more manageable.
google avatar

A M.

Yelp
The food was good, but we ordered in advance (about 15 mins before we got there) and it still took 40 minuets in the restaurants for it to be finished. Also one of the guys who brought out one of the kids pizza's dropped half of it on the floor :( My daughter was crying. Both of my kids were acting ridiculous cause they were so hungry and it took forever. My dad counted and there were 17 people behind the counter making pizza's so they definitely weren't understaffed so I don't know why they were so slow. But I will say the hoagie club was excellent!
google avatar

Barton P.

Yelp
I used to live in St. Paul, MN and one of the places I would frequent was Davanni's. Getting a chance to visit the area again, I couldn't pass up the chance to go there again. Davanni's makes great pizza and subs, but most of all I love their calzones. They make one of the best calzones I have ever eaten. While the restaurant can sometimes get busy due to the small colleges in the area, the service is pretty good. Be warned that it can be a little pricey for a family of four, but one of their medium pizzas can be enough to fill 2 - 2 1/2 people. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting a Davanni's restaurant when you have the chance. More than likely you will go back again and again.
google avatar

Ralph K.

Yelp
I used to love this spot. It's cheap, but totally fast food and very salty/processed tasting. Good nostalgia, but not amazing.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Straight up bad. Management as so awful, with no refund in sight because I paid cash. Just NO. Go hungry till the morning.

Peter S.

Yelp
No thank you. I place an order for a pizza, wings, and breadsticks at $30+ dollars it still isn't enough for them to deliver to the Hilton Double Tree in Downtown St Paul.

Gustavo G.

Yelp
I study now in ELS and this place is so good, the pizzas and burgers are amazing, you have free refills and the service is very good. I like too much when they call your name, it's ver funny. For all ELS international students, you must eat in davannis's because is the nearest restaurant you have and is very warm when outside is very cold. In conclusion, I love davannis's :D

robert H.

Yelp
Food good, censorship not! Dining at Davanni's today on Grand and Cleveland I was shocked while using their wifi that I was prohibited from accessing a particular website by a service provided to Davanni's by Norton (Symantec). While it is beyond dispute that Davanni's has the right to censor anything its patrons read over its wifi, it is an especially troubling reflection on our culture that a restaurant favors censoring particular political views. I immediately departed for Caribou on Fairview and Randolph where I had no difficulty accessing the same website via their wifi. Clearly this censorship is a matter of choice (as is my patronage)
