Dave & Buster's Austin - South

I wanted a steak for my birthday plus it had 1/2 price on games so we came here and played till they closed at midnight. Smaller than the one we're used to in Crossroads in San Antonio but we still had fun. Staff was nice, food was good, and got a lot of tickets.

During our visit to Dave & Buster’s, we requested a table but were informed by the hostess that no tables were available at the time. We were told them we would sit at bar area and wait until one became available. While we waited, my grandbaby went off to play games. By the time my grandbaby finished playing, we noticed that tables—specifically the ones we originally requested—were being filled, and we were never notified that a table was available for us. We returned to the hostess and asked if we could be transferred from the bar to a table. He informed us that since we had already ordered at the bar, transferring would be difficult and that a server might not be attentive to us. At that point, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The general manager, James, came over and listened to our concerns. He was very apologetic and assured us that he would address the situation with his staff and work on improving customer service. I would like to sincerely thank James for going out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of and happy by the time we left. His professionalism and care made a big difference in our experience.

Really disappointed in the service we received on Sunday. I reserved a table about a week and a half ago for 10 people. We were celebrating my son’s birthday. It was very clear from the beginning that she didn’t want to wait on us. I was confused because the restaurant was pretty empty. We had about 6-8 kids with us who stayed playing games almost the whole time. But right off the bat she brings full size cups instead of kids cups so immediately 2 kids accidentally spill their giant drinks on the table and floor. She never offered to get us napkins or get someone to help us clean it. I had to use my birthday napkins to clean the floor. Which in my option is absolutely unacceptable. Then we round the kids up to pass out cake and a couple of the parents sat down at an empty table. They did order food and drinks so we thought this wasn’t an issue especially since there were many empty tables. Apparently this wasn’t the case. About an hour after we arrive the waitress comes up to us and is very rude. Server - “ How long are y’all going to be here?” Me - “Probably about another hour, is something wrong?” Server - “Yeah, you’re taking up my whole section so I can’t make any money and it’s a football night.” Me shocked but still friendly - “Oh I apologize I can ask the other parents to move, I thought because they had their own tabs that they were okay to sit at the empty table.” I ask the other parents to move, which one of them was not happy because she tipped the girl $100 on an $8 kids pizza. She walks off and I am assuming goes to get the busser because as soon as she’s gone he comes out and starts trying to clean our table and take out things even though we are still sitting at the table. We ask him multiple times not take clear our things. At this point the server is now at the host stand complaining to the host and gesturing at us. She provides us no service after this. Not one refill. Not once did she come back and ask if we wanted to order something else. She made assumptions and was incredibly rude and unprofessional yet she still made $180 off our groups and would have made more had she not been so rude. I will not attempt to do that again, which sucks because we love Dave & Buster’s. It’s sad to see that the service has gone down hill here.

Celebrated my grandsons 7th birthday party here. Manager Aaron was attentive and helpful. Loved the reserved party area. It was very roomy with plenty of tables and chairs. The game room was huge and clean!

We have recently partnered with Dave & Busters Southpark Meadows for our 2025-2026 Austin Bats team! We are having an excellent experience and the service is always immaculate from start to finish. We are warmly greeted and seamlessly directed to our station upon arrival. A huge thank you to Karson at the bar, who made sure to get our orders quickly even while working our event. And thanks to James for the great attention to detail in coordinating our events. The staff truly makes our events special. Highly recommend this location!

Bar service is absent to say the least. Had to call over the bar tender and ask for a drink after I sat down for a few minutes. No “hello” or “what can I get for you”. Just a nod like I was a burden. Had to ask to order food and any refills I needed. Sat and watched the 2 bar tenders count their cash tips while waiting to close out my tab. I won’t be back.

I love this Dave and Buster’s, I had a blast here a few weeks ago with my dance team friends! It was my first time at a Dave and Buster’s, but I will definitely be coming back with more of my family and friends! The staff and the manager James were all so kind, attentive and warm, the food was absolutely delicious (the pickle fries and burgers are to die for 😋) and the games were so much fun. I loved the ambiance of this location and it’s a great place for adults and kids alike, highly recommend!

Wait staff is horrible. Walked in on a Sunday asked a table for one, was sat and then I waited. I waited, I waited and I waited. Watched over 12 minutes of football on the screen and not one single waiter approached me. Completely ignored and forgotten, I walked out. Drove down the street, struggled to find parking, and ordered my food at Jason’s Deli faster than the time I spent being ignored at Dave and Busters. It's a real shame because I was really looking forward to playing some video games and watching the Texans on the big screen.

The kids, my niece, and I came here on a Sunday evening. There was a game on, so it was lively and a bit noisy, but we were seated quickly and placed our order without delay. Most of us ordered burgers, and my daughter chose the chicken Parmesan Alfredo. The food arrived hot, exactly as ordered, and everything was delicious. After dinner, we stayed to play games, which made for a really fun evening. By the time we finished eating, the crowd had cleared out since the game had ended, giving us plenty of space to move around and enjoy ourselves. It was a great way to spend a Sunday evening, and we're already looking forward to doing it again. The customer service was excellent from start to finish.

Fun filled-spot with so much space but the only problem is that there were people waiting to us emultiple games that made the experience limited. For example, I tried to check on air-hockey table but it was always being played for 30 mins and still had people waiting to use. Same with VR games and jurrasic park shotting game but overall Dave & Busters is overall fun.

The first new Dave & Buster's in Austin in a couple decades is exciting! It's amazing to see the transformation of what used to be JoAnn Fabrics in the Southpark Meadows shopping center, and surprising how much they could fit into the building. I only have the north location near the Gateway shopping center to compare this to, and do miss the 1900s arcade style with stained glass and brass, but admittedly that was outdated while charming and this new location is very new and sleek. This location feels a little smaller too and I couldn't find any meeting rooms or pool tables I remember from the north, but all the important parts fit comfortably including a large bar near the front surrounded by three sections of table seating and then a huge arcade in the back half with an amazing selection of games. There is always plenty to play and enjoy, but this seemed to focus more on ticket games than the typical arcade. That helps with variety and new experiences, but I missed any sign of classic light gun games that were always my favorite to play with friends. There is one Jurassic Park game and one Halo game that are both sit-down experiences with a fixed gun, and one very dull target practice game, but I couldn't find any of the favorite zombie shooters or the like anywhere. However there are plenty of things I've never seen before like VR machines and other cutting edge things, so perhaps those make up for the lack of anything older. I tried a selection of their food too and enjoyed everything. Nothing is better than say Chili's quality, but it's all tasty and a good variety. I liked the novelty of the beef wellington bites, the spice of the pot stickers, chicken fried with Rice Krispies crust -- all of it was solid enjoyable bar food. And I loved the cookie station at my event that let you pour caramel, chocolate, whipped cream, and strawberries on top! Even the fresh fruit and vegetables was a treat. The one drawback besides the lack of shooting games for me was the absolute deafening volume. There was a DJ that may only be for certain events, but everything was so loud you had to shout to be heard by people at your own table. And with all the blinking lights and arcade noises too, everything was a bit of overload. But this may just be coming from somebody who has aged out of these things. Young people these days! Still, it was a great place to enjoy the evening, the food was tasty, the service was friendly, the one drink I limited myself to was fun, and there was lots to play. I need to do air hockey next time!

Took three teenagers and three adults the first week of January. Staff was so nice! We ordered burgers (a little greasy) fries, and some amazing mozzarella sticks. Super thick! Chicken tenders were crispy and all the games seemed to be in good order.

Whether it's a date, a family gathering, a work happy hour, or any casual occasion, Dave & Buster's fits the bill perfectly. I haven't been to Dave & Buster's since they used physical tickets. Yet, it was just as fun as I remembered. I would advise coming in on a Wednesday, as they offer half-off of games. Plus, they have a happy hour every weekday from 4-7 PM offering $5 drinks on select alcoholic beverages. Food wise, I was pleasantly impressed. Let's not get it twisted, Dave & Buster's is no gourmet restaurant, but it serves your typical 3-star bar food that is appetizing and won't give you food poisoning.

Despite the previous comments, I actually had a good trip at D&B. I came in on Saturday night about 30 mins from Closing. (I know, I'm horrible LOL) I asked the Bartender were they still accepting food orders, really wanted a drink and bit to eat that wasn't fast food late at night. He (Scotty) told me, the kitchen doesn't close till 1AM. Scotty welcomed me in and got me situated with my favorite drink. I decided to get a $10 card for a quick game while my food was being prepared. It was late night and people were leaving so it was not crowded at all and no kids present. LOL I came back to the bar and Timothy recommended YellowBird sauce for my Kickin Chicken Potstickers. Timothy is a genius, it was so delish, I went to HEB and got a bottle. Everyone was super friendly and nice even to the later birds that came in for food and drinks after 12:30.

We have been going to this location for quite a while, and they have never let us down. Amazing group of people working there from management to down. My daughter, Ashley, had a ton of fun at the Easter Egg Hunt, and we are hoping that the Fathers Day Games returns again this year, we loved it last time. We have never left there feeling anything but happy (and often full) from our visit. Everyone there deserves a kudos!

They reviewed every vegan option they had. Service was okay in the bar. Plenty of games for the kiddos to play but can get quite loud.

Dave and busters are always expensive for how many games you get to play. Was pretty upset that this location does not have pool tables. The chicken nachos were very good though. The bartender didn't cut the top of the lime so the tip was floating around in the drink which was kind of off putting. All of that said its the closest thing in South Austin for this type of fun.

We love coming here when it's not packed. So later in the evening and when it's cold outside. The food is pretty good we usually just gets snacks. Fun place for the family to all play together.

Portion: 10/10 - massive portions, couldn't finish any of our plates Service: 1/10 - we were never checked on, not one time. Had to ask someone else to bring our check Ambiance: 9/10 - lively, great choice to come watch a game Quality: 4/10 - husband got extremelyyyy sick the next day. He had the fish & chips, I had the steak. I was fine. So not sure if it was the fish but I have never seen him get so sick like that, He couldn't go to the work the next day. Everything we ordered: - flatbread & side salad for apps - fish & chips + steak and greens for entrees - beer for drinks Vibes are good, but due to low quality service and my husband getting extremely sick from what we think was the food... won't be dining here again.

This location is horrible. First, walking in there was a group of employees standing at the front talking. They did not greet us. We stood there waiting and then the lady with the pink hair rudely said there's a 30 minute wait for a table (even though half the tables were empty). We sat at the bar and they gave my son the wrong food so we had to wait again. Before arriving, we added VR experiences to our game cards and discovered that this location does not even have VR. Then when leaving, then same group of 5 employees were just standing there and didn't say anything. Just stared at us with rude stares. It was very awkward. We will just make the drive to the other location next time. Please train your employees on proper customer service.

frequently come here and i am really glad there is a D&B in south austin, food and drinks are good but are a bit pricey - however the service is great as well! Overall the atmosphere is a bit loud and chaotic but it is to be expected in this environment

I'm still sitting here and it is so crowded. There are two major fights tonight and I just wanted to come up to the bar and pay my tab. The manager, Chris, was soooo sweet and came and asked my name and got my card and closed me out. The customer service from this gentleman was above and beyond. We eat out a lot and we go out a lot and it's hard to find someone who takes pride in the way they look, talk, conduct business and overall just care about their customers. We have gotten a few drinks from the bar all night and Carter was so sweet and the drinks were amazing. I have been to 4 or 5 D&B's in my life. This one deserves a much higher rating based on the bartender and manager. As someone who is from Houston and visiting, come here. They make you feel so special and welcomed. Thank you both!

If I can give a negative star I would. The service was ok. The drink was just punch with no alcohol. The food came but it was cold. The cheese wasn't even melted on the burger. The burger had no flavor. Had to ask twice for mayo and mustard. The wings were lukewarm and to saucy that made the wings just soggy. The only good thing was the fries, celery and carrots. Then they held the credit card machine which they can watch the tip and the suggested starting tip at 18% is crazy.

Service was terrible. The bar doesn't have a dedicated area for people to walk up and down order. The bartenders were slow on a game day. Seems like the team has very little experience. Also, the winners circle was stocked with low quality items.

The Games were fun and I think that is worth coming here for but, the food service was awful. I ordered lemon pepper wings and they didn't season them fully and it took 30 minutes or more for them to provide us service, and mind you the wifi is bad and overall the service was terrible. I would only go here for the arcade not the food.

Sophia was our server and she was pretty fast, very nice and had pretty pink hair! The burger was very yummy, the only thing is that it was slightly overcooked. the fries were not cold but not warm but the crunch was still there and seasoned perfectly! Food: 7.5/10. Experience: 9/10

Took my wife here for a date night. We had a blast. Even though she is not great at playing video games. There is something for everyone. We discovered she loves the racing games. Will definitely return!

The "cocktails" do not contain alcohol. It's just an artificial fruit punch. The hostess was not friendly. Service was good and so was the food.

We enjoy going to the North location with the kids. Glad this one opened up South. Crispy wings, soft pretzels, the Cobb salad has a Southern spin on it. Nice and airy compared to the North location. Service was great!

My family and I went during the week around 1pm. We ordered the pretzel sticks which were mouthwatering delicious! I can't wait to go back and get those again. The hamburger was delicious. We asked for crispy fries and they were perfect. Our food was hot and we absolutely loved it. The only negative thing is the price. It is pricey. But I'll order those pretzel sticks again. The grandkids had a blast playing games and we even played a few. It was a fun time.

Just opened in South Park Meadows and hopefully closes soon, the worst service you could possibly get! I was Christmas shopping and saw there was a D&B in South Park Meadows and thought, "Cool, I'll stop in for a break from shopping" and wish I hadn't. My son and I went in and were seated quickly, because it wasn't busy at all, thought to myself this should be good food and importantly, good service, since again, IT WAS NOT BUSY. Thought I'd get a quick beer or two while shopping, kid can play and this should be great. Holy Hell, it could not have been worse! I sat there 15 mins. with no recognition I was even in the place, was going to leave when another waiter asked me if I wanted him to go get my waitress, should have left but said "sure, I would for someone to wait on me". Finally she comes over, takes my beer order and I get my kid a burger, she brings the beer and few minutes later my kids food, I never saw her again!!! It's like I didn't exist in the place at all, I saw other wait staff running around serving their customers but my lady had disappeared completely, I was out of my first beer, my kid needed a refill on his drink and we just sat there FOREVER and finally she shows back up all apologetic about how "sorry, I was in the back doing all the other employees work".....etc. It's like, get outta here, you just suck at being a waitress, don't through your co-workers under the bus! Again, IT WAS NOT BUSY and I just don't see the need to go back somewhere that can't serve it's customers! It's a customer service business, bring me food, bring me beer and make sure there are sports on the TV and all they could accomplish was sports on the TV; well, if you fail at 2 of the 3 things you're suppose to do, then just stop doing it. Pathetic! I got the one POS wait staff in the whole place and that's it, I gave it a chance, haven't been to a D&B in so long and was kinda excited to see one in South Park Meadows and they succeeded in ruining that in just one hour of the first time I went in. Won't be back!!!

me and my boyfriend LOVEEE the new location! we always dine in and staff is super friendly and accommodating :) aaron the manager made sure to visit with us throughout our meal to ensure everything was going well and our server was so fun to chitchat with!! we the strawb shortcake, our food, and the vibes/ambiance

First time there, and service at the bar was lacking. Sat with an empty glass for 10 mins, trying to order another and an appetizer. Ended up asking for the check instead and left.... Giving them one more shot at it.

Came in for my sons birthday and had a couple questions. The manager came right out to assist and was so incredible kind and made my son's birthday incredible! We cannot thank you enough Erik and we will definitely be back!

Really clean and easy to maneuver! ONLY suggestion or negative would be how loud the music was- I would have stayed longer and drank more if I'd been able to socialize with my group and not gotten a headache. LOVELY service from a small blonde/brunette whose name I cannot remember but she served us at the back booth by the server station/games on Sunday. Will be back many times.

The food was amazing, great to share, the strawberry lemonade hits so hard. The workers are so attentive and their service goes above and beyond what I expect of anyone. I like the soft lighting in the dining areas to calm down from all the excitement of the play areas. But yeah the best of all was the service, they kept checking in on us, and not just one of them, several people, but it didn't feel like bombarding, it felt easygoing and comforting knowing they care about doing a good job. I hope they get paid a lot.
