Dave's Hot Chicken

My daughter and I are regulars at Dave’s hot chicken, I wish there was one in the southlands area of Aurora closer to where we live, the closest one is about 40 min away! everything on the menu tastes absolutely amazing and the staff are always super nice with a big smile. The atmosphere is designed to be casual and fun. If you are looking for something delicious and unique, this is it!! I posted a rating and was writing this review and the owner responded within minutes even before I finished my review, that’s how awesome they are :)

Unfortunately, with this location you cannot trust that all of your food will be correct. Time and time again, my order has been wrong here. Today when I called again to speak to a manager, the person who answered would not allow me to speak to them. She asked why I needed to speak to a manager, I told her a part of my order was wrong, she said to come back with my receipt for a refund. I asked to speak to a manager, she said “She’ll tell you the same thing” Usually, they can compensate me for my next visit because I do live 40 minutes away… Maybe there’s new management because now that is not the case. I called two days ago and informed that I got home and my full order was incorrect so I asked that the item that was missing be deleted off of the order. The manager, Lily, said she would call back if she couldn’t find our order, no surprise she never called. We gave her our two different order numbers, last four digits of the credit card, and the full order with each and every detail and she said she still couldn’t find our order. Never had this issue before. Kitchen staff does not read tickets to it’s entirety.

08.23.2024 11:30am Walked in and the store is organized, nice and clean with inside and outside seating. Ordered Dave’s bites, hot flavor. The bites were hot, fresh and spice level was perfect! I was in when this location opened and ordered the reaper, I’ll never do that again 😵‍💫😂. Person taking our order was nice, polite and made good eye contact. You can tell customer service is taken seriously here. Asked for extra sauce and a bag for leftovers and the employees were happy to oblige. The pickles were cold and tart the way I like them ☺️ and the dipping sauce for the nugs was a little sweet however really balances out the spices on the chicken. All in all highly recommend Dave’s on Broadway!!

I ate here for the first time a few weeks ago. The chicken was okay. The chicken didn’t taste fresh, but it tasted okay. The fries were acceptable. I like the sauces they offered with the chicken as well. The coleslaw was absolutely terrible. It was so bland and nasty. I would recommend taking it off the menu if you’re unwilling to perfect a recipe for coleslaw that actually taste good. Hot chicken sandwiches with a nice coleslaw actually pairs well. The tables at this location were filthy. In between customers, the tables MUST be cleaned. I also felt nauseous after I ate everything. Not sure what it was, but I think it was that awful coleslaw. I’m not sure if I’ll return.

Food was served quickly and it was good. Chicken was great, sides were ok. The spice was good. Soda tasted like syrup. I recommend the Hot Sliders.

Dave’s Hot Chicken never misses! The chicken was cooked to perfection—crispy, juicy, and packed with insane flavor. I like Dave’s Hot Chicken more than I like canes! This location is great. They have very personable employees and the food is amazing, and consistent (I’ve been here 15–20 times). Shout out to Jason, he gave the vibe that he cares about Dave’s Hot Chicken. Very personable manager.

Stopppp this place is so good. Everyone i've met working here is so stinking nice. I've never had a bad experience here. The art is epic on the walls, there's always enough tables. Someone is always cleaning and tidying them up. The FOOD IS SO GOOD. I like a little spice so the medium slider is very nice with one of the hot tenders, I always add cheese but it's still good without it too. No spice and little mild is great if you're really really sensitive to spice, they do a great job of it. I love how they give u the amount of honey, ketchup and dave's sauce that u want without an extra charge per each one. The honey is such a nice touch to the spicier chickens.

Good- friendly service- attentive staff * fries only warm and not fully seasoned and they use to be great and flavorful **really sad - the actual chicken portion has been sized down by at least 40%. In other words they tenders are much smaller almost the size of any other fast food chain. The main thing besides the heat/spice level was a good portion so you're missing the "MAIN" thing to save on food cost which will eventually reduce Guest intent to return. Either under new management or the slow demise of a once fun concept. Did not meet expectations which were great in the original product. Ambiance fits the space.

I'm gonna offend so many loyalists by giving Daves an average rating. But to me, that's what they are. Maybe I did have to order Navhsville hot in order to be able to appreciate it. But my friends recommend Daves since we both adore Raising Cane's so I took their words for it. Unfortunately I found so many things different between the two. And if I love RC, I'm bound to not care for D. I can give a side by side comparison but that wouldn't be pretty. And the fact that I struggle to find parking in order to eat here further discourage me from visiting again. Sorry Daves. Sorry friends...

I kept hearing how great Dave's hot chicken was and finally tried it one day. I got a variety so I could try several things. Got the mac n cheese, french fries and a single tender. I can't handle too much heat so I always try mild when it comes to hot chicken to see how high I could go. I will say they have no spice, lite mild and then mild. mild taste like no spice. I mean nothing at all. It was shocking. It makes me wonder what no spice and lite mild even taste like. With that kind of a level i could probably got to hot or even extra hot. I wasn't a fan of the flavoring on the tender. It was so bland. I did enjoy the french fries and the mac n cheese was amazing and creamy. Not sure I would go back honestly. It was that meh to me. There are plenty of other good friend chicken places around.

First time at Daves Hot Chicken and now I am thinking of every excuse to come back again! I am hooked and obsessed! I got their #3. 1 Tender and 1 Slider with fries. I got the tender mild since it was for my two year old and got the slider extra hot. First off the Daves sauce is incredible. Make sure you get that with your meal! Secondly this may just be me but I sometimes associate mild as a lack of flavor option compared to a spicier option, this is far from true at Daves Hot Chicken! Their mild is full of flavor and covered with seasoning! I had to double check that it was actually mild because I didn't believe it. The slider was amazing! They give you a generous size piece of chicken and the bun goes so well with the sandwich. Their fries are good too! Perfectly crispy and hot. For the adults they do have beers and seltzer. The restaurant itself was pretty clean, the bathrooms very clean. Taking off a star because no changing table! I had to change a blowout on the sink, not cool. It can't cost that much just to add one in, very inconsiderate to families. Also you need a code to use the restroom. Anyway.. this place has better chicken sandwiches than any other chicken fast food chain I have been too.

Dave's doesn't disappoint!! My brother lives in Denver so Everytime I go, we grab Dave's. Here's the highlights: Service: always sweet people ready to take your order. Ambiance: is clean and simple. Has a ton of personality. Food: great portions at a great price with amazing sauces. BUT the chicken is great without the sauce, that's when you know it's good.

This place has us in a chokehold. I think we've had this place 3 times within a month which is rare for us. The food is always fresh and on point when it comes to flavor. Service is always A1. We don't eat in the building we take it to go but the building is a little vibe. The food stays warm until we reach home not to mention the reheat value is amazing. 10/10 highly recommend.

I went to Dave's for chicken on 3/5/2025 while in line I seen a manager with name tag "Eddie" Eddie threatened a gentleman with a broom for being homeless and existing in the restaurant and proceeded to kicked him out in the most disgusting inhumane way I've ever seen a person be treated. The man said his peace otw out but NONE of the staff stood up for this gentleman. Or against the disgusting manner in which Eddie was treating this HUMAN BEING. Will not come again I refuse to shop in a business that thinks it's okay to treat people like that.

Food is really delicious. The tenders have great flavor and fries were crispy. I also loved the sauce. The inside is kinda gross / scary. Service was good.

Be prepared to get messy! It seems the messier the food is the better it tastes and this applies to Dave's! The tenders were big and juicy and perfectly spiced. I liked that I could decide the heat I wanted on my chicken. The staff were friendly and eager to help. I would definitely return! Notes: street parking is not good for this location. If you're lucky, you might snag a metered spot out front. However, there is a parking garage below! More than likely, you'll need to park there. Also, bathrooms require a code, ask staff for it.

My go-to Dave's as it's on my daily commute home from work and it's a banger! Workers are always so friendly, quick and accommodating. I usually get the tenders for that ~protein~ but my new obsession are the bites with medium spice after Yessica recommended it to me. Comes with 10 juicy white meat bites, ample fries seasoned to perfection, pickle chips, a slice of white bread, and three containers of sauce! I drizzled honey on top of the bites this time around and the mouthwatering mix of sweetness, spiciness, and saltiness of the chicken was so addictive, I was seriously considering throwing in a second (or third...or fourth) order for my next meals. Solid 10/10, if you're on the fence, definitely bite the bullet and try Dave's!

I ordered from them last night and the employees just kept looking at me and talking with each other before even coming up to me and asking if I needed assistance. They automatically spoke to me in Spanish and when I apologized and said I didn't speak Spanish, I was given a dirty look and the Girl had rolled her eyes before speaking to me in English. I had such a terrible experience with the staff however the food was delicious

Very yum, no matter what day, time, anything, it always hits. the parking sometimes is a hassle but it's worth it

At the end of July I received a Yelp message that referenced my review. It said one word only. And it said that it came from Dave's Hot Chicken. It said, "Liar." Now this is confusing to me. Who sent it? Why can't I get the Yelp app to show me who the message was from, aside from simply saying "Dave's Hot Chicken"? Why did the person say I was a liar when my photos showed that I was telling the complete truth? Why would Dave's -- if Dave's it was who was trolling me -- accuse me of not telling the truth when what I said was correct? That a company would single out a (former) customer and waste its time untruthfully verbally attacking someone for telling the truth about its practices is very scary. I'm going to dig a little deeper and see what sicko is responsible for that message, and I'll get back to you. But this is just weird. Sign me, David "mystified" M

This place never disappoints. Moist chicken, flavorful fries, delicious sauce, friendly staff. Eat here, it won't disappoint!

Was looking forward to trying but portions were small and chicken was not crispy. I would give it another shot because the flavor was good.

I love the chicken here! good variety with flavors and the fries are amazing. the sauce is great and the customer service is fantastic. very polite people at the cash register! ambiance is also very fun, I like the wall art a lot.

The chicken was decent but overpriced, while the fries were quite good. Although I wouldn't return, I appreciated the exceptionally friendly employees. Their willingness to walk me through the menu, knowing it was my first visit, made for a positive experience.

After a few drinks down the road, my friends and I were walking down Broadway trying to decide if we wanted a bite to eat or grab another drink. We walked by Dave's and discussed whether we should try it or not. Another group of people overheard us and shouted "Yes, check it out. They are amazing!". We took the strangers advice and headed in. I got the slider with the hot seasoning. It was the lowest level of "hot" but still really spicy! I would eat this any day over Chick Fila or Raising Canes. Service was quick, people were friendly, and they had beer cans as well for drinks options. Wish I lived closer by.

My kids absolutely loved the food and the customer service was exceptional. It was their first time here and we will definitely be coming back

Tried this for the first time tonight & absolutely LOVED it! Simply the best chicken hands down since I've been in Colorado. The prices are great too & love the serving sizes, for the #4 as shown in photo, it was $9.99 and again, absolutely amazing chicken! Restaurant is kept well clean & bathrooms were also clean. The parking is metered right outside & parking can be hard to find so either get their earlier in the evening or ride share. Definitely worth the travel out to Denver to try this great spot! Will be coming again in the future!

Please DO NOT open a branch in Aurora! I will go broke buying the cauliflower tenders every single day! Today was my first of many meals at Dave's. I've never had cauliflower tenders like these. I wouldn't have known I was eating a vegetable, had I not placed the order myself. Service- 5 stars. Ambiance- 5 stars. Cauliflower tenders- all the stars. Please open a branch in Aurora. Please!

I've been here a couple times, and honestly the worst thing they have on the menu is the chicken. Their sides and fries are extremely delicious. The problem with the chicken is it is WAY over seasoned and incredibly salty to the point where I couldn't finish the 2nd chicken tender. Is it hot chicken? You bet, just as advertised. Very spicy even at just the Hot spice level. The chicken itself is actually really well prepared, juicy and cooked to perfection. But they ruin the fine bird by just absolutely drenching it with this salty seasoning which has a very sandy texture that just isn't pleasant. The other thing I don't understand is the two plain slices of white bread they serve the chicken with. Am I supposed to sort of make a sandwich with it? They serve it with pickles as well so I tried that and the bread was so dry it just broke when I folded it. I honestly can't think of a reason why two pieces of plain, dry white bread were on the plate. But again, great sides. The mac and cheese is delicious and fries are A+. Service is also very friendly, prices are good. But the way they season the chicken is a serious issue for me and I likely won't be returning.

Got the blazing and although I can handle most of the hottest seasonings/spice blends at 9/10 restaurants my regional manager I ordered this a few weeks ago for A quick work lunch. I took one bite and couldn't taste anything, but about 20 seconds later my mouth was literally burning. Alarmed I gulped down my drink and Mac n cheese. Even more alarmed as I thought of my white suburban boss who definitely doesn't go for the spiciest option all the time. I flung my door open to find her doing the same. We tasted nothing. Just burning. Now I know it was supposed to be hot but wasn't j supposed to taste something too?

Service was good. Food was great. Great portions. Roomy. Received our food pretty fast.

Finally! It's been my goal to explore ALL the hot chicken eateries in Denver, and how can you NOT notice constantly driving by Daves? Such a great location. Walked here with a friend while working out of a nearby coworking space. Thankfully there wasn't much of a lunch crowd. I went to the counter and ordered the #3 (1 Tender + 1 Slider w/ Fries) at the HOT level. Extra charge to add cheese, which you should always do. Ended up being a little too much food, which is better than the other way around. I really wanted to try a slider, but next time I would get the two-tender meal instead... though it still comes with sliced bread. Definitely getting the mac & cheese or cheese fries in the future. Can you tell how much I love cheese? The chicken itself was fantastic. The pickles, too. Service was alright. Very fast food feeling. I mean obviously... it's a chain. With that said, ordering Daves to-go sounds like a great option. Gotta make sure I have the sauce and potentially a milkshare to complete my meal. I do like the inside of this restaurant. I'm glad my friend and I experienced that. Excellent for groups or solo dining. Can't wait to come back again.

I had 2 chicken strips and cheese fries on 11/23/24 around noon thirty. Bread was dry and hard. Chicken and fries were just a tiny bit on the salty side. I am a one and done based on the hard and dry bread, won't return. The bottled water was good.

Really like it here it's walking distance from where I live it's very convenient for me! I haven't had any problems at with my service so far the food is good and fresh and the milkshakes they make them once you go and pick up your order so it's made fresh! Great place, great food, and great service!

My cousin's friend recommended us to try 'Dave's Hot Chicken' and I have to say, we were not disappointed! I have a small appetite, and I don't usually finish a standard serving size of food, but the portion here was the perfect amount, and I left neither too full nor still hungry. I was surprised that they have a variety of heat levels. I am a lover of spicy food, so I was delighted to see the options! I'm glad that we stopped by to try out 'Dave's Hot Chicken'!

This is hands down some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I got the sliders with medium spice and it came out so quick and was the perfect level of spicy. The fries are well seasoned, but the Dave's sauce and honey are great to dumb on your chicken. The coleslaw on the sandwich is outstanding as well. So glad I didn't do another underwhelming fast food chicken place and came here instead. I will be back for sure

Who is this Dave? and how legit is he??? Dave's Hot Chicken ain't Hattie B's, Bolton's, or Prince's butttt....when not in Nashville Dave's il do you aight. Pretty good chicken slider with nice crispy chicken ( medium was not hot at all...Hattie's would smoke this one). Crispy seasoned fries were good and crispy. Def a Disney like vibe...okay Dave and Busters, TGIF, etc. Great drunk eats imho.

One time I stood in line for two hours at the #1 rated restaurant on Yelp in Los Angeles. It was the first time I'd ever invested this much time waiting for food and it was my first time eating hot chicken. It was one of the best meals I've had. I've been trying to find a comparable hot chicken sandwich for years. Most are disappointing and little more than a fried piece of chicken with Frank's Red Hot poured over it. Sometimes I wonder if the "hot" in the descriptions refer to temperature instead of spice level. We finally found our spot at Dave's Hot Chicken! The sandwiches here are a sublime combination of hot, crispy, spicy, sweet, and sour. The fried chicken pieces are made to order and crisp on the outside and oh so moist and steamy in the inside. The heat levels are no joke: reaper will burn a whole in your b-hole as Gaming Foodie likes to say. My go-to order is two sliders one hot one extra hot.

Very nice chicken strips, wonderful taste of the sauce. And juicy chicken. The only straggle is the parking.

Has Denver become a gold mine for hot chicken? I'm gonna say yes. Dave's is bringing the fried chicken love to South Broadway's party scene. Stone cold sober or extremely intoxicated, this chicken goes down smooth. More so than the product itself, I'm impressed with the dining room set up, late night hours and staff efficiency. There are multiple entrance doors, a separate window for pickup/online orders, and a microphone yelling out table numbers. It's a party at Dave's, be warned. The menu is simple. Hallelujah! More restaurants need to do this. Less is more. Chicken is the selling point here, you just have to decide if you're putting it in between two buns or on top of sliced bread. Touché. 2 Hot Tenders w/ Cheese Fries // with 7 spice levels, I chose "HOT" which is number 5 on the scale. The chicken is crispy as hell. Almost too crispy? No it can't be...maybe it's just a personal preference. I appreciated the chicken actually being hot and having great depth of flavor. Many hot chicken spots simply don't produce "hot chicken." It's evident Dave did his research and knows how to crank out spicy ass chicken. Paired with Dave's sauce, you can't go wrong with anything on the plate. The kicker of the whole experience were the cheese fries. I wouldn't have even ordered them if the cashier didn't recommend them. Props to you, my man! These cheese fries were everything you've ever wanted from cheese fries. Remember those shitty ones from stadiums and ballparks? Those places need to come to Dave's to learn how to execute drool-inducing cheese fries. This place is absolutely going to crush it on SoBo. Right in the party district, they're extending the party inside their restaurant with bright lights and craveable late night grub. Saving that 5th star for another visit and because I personally prefer the new hot chicken spot just North of them. But to think I won't be recommending this place is naive thinking, because I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner!

Delicious every time! The chicken is crispy and just spicy enough (medium is my preference)! I feel like I always get the tender and slider and fries combo. I love the house sauce. Definitely a solid go to if you're down for some spicy chicken. My boyfriend has nicknamed this placed Spicy Dave's. Hahahaha! I will be back soon!

Loved it!!!! I can't believe that it took me so long to try this place. My daughter loves it and spoke so highly of it but I slept on it. Customer service was outstanding. I was really thinking that it would be just a chicken tender similar to Canes (no shade). But baby, this chicken was so moist, tender, and flavorful. I had a mild slider with macaroni and cheese. Even though the macaroni and cheese is just noodles and sauce, it was still flavorful. The dipping sauce and pickles were even good. I neglected to take a picture before I started eating but I did get one before I finished. And I forgot to take a pic of my husbands food altogether but he had the tenders and cheese fries. All delicious! Hey Dave's, I'll be back!!

This hot chicken place was great! I got the tender and slider combo. I chose extra hot for the tender and hot for the slider. Neither of which was anything super unbearable. Cannot wait to try the reaper spice next time! Staff was super friendly and very helpful with my questions.

Great chicken and nice staff! A bit pricey but you get better chicken then other fast food places. The inside is very clean and it has a very pleasant atmosphere. I ordered a slider as I was trying to sample their signature. I will definitely come back but I will keep the look out for another chicken place that is not as pricey!

Short review hwre guys, because we all know the food here is awesome. But the service, !!! We showed up 10 mins before closing, and they not only allowed us to eat there, but they setup the paito just for us. They brought our food out to us. And before shutting things down asked if we needed anything else. I wish all restaurants had service like this!!! Incredible!!!

The name doesn't lie. The chicken is HOT. we came here on a lunch jaunt when driving past Denver and found it approachable and fast. we had our dog with us and the patio was perfect for us. The portions reflect the cost. I thought it was kinda pricy, but we also had 2 times the food we needed. Could have easily split a #2 and been happy. The flavor is super good on the chicken [and since that is 95% of the menu that is good.] Everyone working there was super kind and helpful. [no masks on the staff, so I guess Denver has different rules than where we live, which isn't the staff's choice, but rather the management so I wont pass judgment there] Will go again when the opportunity presents itself, and this time split.

I wanted to like this place, but the chicken was really dry and the rub had a harsh saltiness that wasn't for me. The service was very friendly, food came out fast and the place was clean with ample seating. The chicken just didn't do it for me, I wanted it to be juicy and it wasn't. The pickles and honey helped.

Love this gem on Broadway!. This is a good spot to enjoy some people watching while having a bite to eat. I suggest sitting outside to get the best experience. Be aware that homeless people may come up to you asking for handouts. I don't mind this at all, but don't be rude if you don't wish to give. The chicken is one of the most tender I have eaten and plenty of flavor. The food also came very quickly and the staff was attentive and constantly cleaning. I would definitely recommend this place and check this place out.

The best day is any day with a Dave's slider! There is no better combination than that warm chicken (medium spice is perfect), cold pickles and coleslaw. Add a slice of cheese and dunk it in Dave's Sauce. Nothing better. Both Denver locations are clean. The staff is friendly and quickly get a meal out to you. Always a good meal.
