I heard good things and wanted to try. It was definitely better than some of these restaurants that over charge you for chicken and waffles. But it was just ok to me. The chicken was medium hot but that wasn't spicy. The actual chicken was bland. The waffle was good. It was fresh and had flavor. Not too sweet and didn't taste like fried doug.dough. for $10 it was great.

First time trying Dave’s hot chicken. To be honest, it was really good. I wanted to try the spice so I ended up getting hot and it was really good. Gave me a little sweats lol. I got the one chicken tender and one slider combo and it seemed like they put two tenders in there so much food I couldn’t even eat it. Highly recommend this place service was awesome.

Google
The hot chicken is hot but not flavorful. The non-hot chickens are just kinda mediocre as well. I wish I had requested it to be more crispy. Fries are actually pretty good though. The sauce is just ok. Not bad but I would not come back willingly.

Google
This chicken and fries were so amazing. I ordered the #3 with a Reaper level of spice on the tender and Hot on my slider. WHEW!! That Reaper heat was INSANE!! It was over the top. I love super hot stuff and it blew me up. I challenge anyone that loves super spicy to try it... it's gonna hurt, though... but it will be worth it. The Reaper heat level was so hot. I got my wife to taste a crumb of the Reaper crust and it was so hot for her, it blew the top of her head off. I alm9st ended up in the doghouse over that deal. When we first came in, the manager came out and described their whole process to us so we would be informed. He even gave me a free shake to help my burning wife to survive the heat. We loved this place!

Shout out to Mel, she is so sweet and full of excellence! I appreciated the awesome customer service. Chaundra was also so kind. Thanks for your kindness and smile (heart). The food was A1 and the ambience was too! Parking is a little tricky but it’s worth the try and hassle (depending on the time you arrive). My friends loved it so much!

Food came out really fast and was a great price! Chicken was juicy and crunchy. 10/10 would come again

Google
Daylon was amazing! He introduced his partner who was bagging and quickly made my milkshake to hand to me before walking off. The chicken is amazing! I got the Dave’s Bites in medium. I ordered two orders of Dave’s Bites but ended up with one Dave’s Bites and a me strip 🤨. Whoever was responsible for boxing the order and checking the order didn’t get this one right. Assuming the same person (can’t remember his name) that bagged it and handed it to me was responsible for checking. Again… Daylon was great! Hopefully someone in charge sees this and reaches out since they have a sign that says go give them a review on Google. See my pictures below.

Yelp
First time trying out Daves. The staff was A+++ friendly and helpful. ordered the #4. Chicken sandwich with cheese: spice level mild. the sandwich was good and I do like the flavor of the chicken. I would have went to extra hot spice level, because the Mild had not spice at all. Fries: I am usually not a fan of crinkle fries, but these were cooked nicely and I love the spice to put on it. sweet and tangy. dipping them in the daves sauce is a bit addicting. Chicken tender, extra hot: It was a very moist tender and the flavor of the breading and spice was sweet and tangy. However not really that hot to me. The pickles are good and the slaw was also very good. In general If you are looking for a spicy chicken sandwich I would recommend. However I will say that nothing I had was the best ever. all the ingredients were quality and the staff was so friendly, but the price is a little high. I would recommend and return.

Yelp
The hot chicken craze has died down a bit but I always enjoy a good hot chicken sandwich. I have been to Dave's Hot Chicken's location in Sugar Land quite a few times and this location twice. Located in Midtown, they do have a parking lot which is definitely clutch for this area. Service (4/5): This is a quick-service restaurant so service isn't a big part of the experience. Place your order at the counter and they will call your number once your food is ready. Easy. Ambiance (3/5): Pretty much what you would expect. Modern and clean with a good amount of seating. They have a couple of tables outside too which is nice. That's where I sat on my most recent visit. Drinks (3/5): Your typical soft drinks plus shakes. I always appreciate a place that offers shakes but I have yet to try them here. Food (3/5): I've had their hot chicken sandwich and their fries and mac and cheese. Good and bad here. The mac and cheese underwhelms so I'd avoid that. Th fries on the other hand are legit. They're crispy and seasoned well. And now, the star of the show: the hot chicken sandwich. Like most places, you choose your hotness level. Unlike all hot chicken joints, here you'll get their special chilled Dave's Sauce (similar to Cane's sauce) and honey. Lather your sandwich in Dave's Sauce. It's legit. I wouldn't put Dave's at the top of the hot chicken standings (there are some local spots I like better) but for a chain, it is solid. If you're looking for a quick meal, and some spicy food, check out Dave's!

Yelp
My fiancé and I are big fans of Dave's Hot Chicken! This location is probably our favorite as the staff is just simply amazing. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the experience with the manager and everyone there was unexpected. There's more parking here, too, and for some reason... the food just tasted better! I think it's a less chaotic atmosphere and would absolutely recommend it!

Yelp
I was in the area one day craving a chicken sandwich and I have never been to Dave's so I thought this was the day. The lady that helped me order was very nice and explained how everything works. From the spice levels, to what is on the sandwiches. Unfortunately, I was let down by the taste and spice level. I got the 2 sliders with fries in the spice level "extra hot". I would say that my spice level is pretty good and I can tolerate a good amount of spice. I think they said the "reaper" spice level required a signed waiver and I didn't really want to do that so I just went one spice level down. I got my food to-go and ate at home. The food was still fairly hot when I got home and the smell of the spices smelled promising in the car. The fries were good but the chicken sandwich was not spicy at all. I was really let down because I wanted it to be spicy and even any remote flavor. The sandwich had some kind of sauce on it and pickles and I would say that the pickles were the best part of it. I wish that if the sandwiches were that much and spice level the second most hottest, that it would be pretty good. They provided extra of the sauce that comes on the sandwich but I think that it didn't help make it taste any better. Overall, i'm still glad I was able to try it and but I don't think that I will be back anytime soon :(

Yelp
I only recently discovered Dave's, and I love it so much!! The chicken sandwich combo with mac and cheese is SO delicious and filing! The medium spicy chicken is just the right amount of heat, and I love the crunchy pickles! The mac and cheese is delicious and always satisfies the craving for some good mac! This meal really fills me up and I usually can't even finish all of the mac. It is just a great deal for a meal, and I can't wait to come back soon!! :-) This location also has a decent sized parking lot and some spots dedicated just to Dave's!

Yelp
I just knew this place was going to be good by the amount of people I saw going in and out. Mannn when I tell you I was wrong, I was WRONG. They were understaffed which led to a wait time of 30+ minutes for a 3-tender plate. That's not the staff's fault but is apart of the overall experience. Once we tried our food back at the hotel, the chicken was very bland with almost no spice (we ordered hot which was medium/high in their level of spices). I guess I had high hopes because of how delicious Hattie B's in Atlanta is.

Yelp
Niece in town and heard about the place via TikTok and insisted we check it out. We went on a Wednesday afternoon ... place was not just. Plenty of parking in their parking lot and plenty of street parking. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Unsure of the heat levels, they offered great insight. We went with one plate hot and one medium to compare. Fries were crispy with great seasoning. Chicken was cooked to perfection... moist on the inside and not soggy on the outside. Hot has a slight kick to it and will get your nose running . Medium was a good light heat. (Note: I like hot stuff). Slider comes with slaw, sauce and pickles. Their signature sauce was a mayo base, nothing too crazy, but went great with the chicken. Very good flavor and not overly done with seasoning. Indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and sit. Open M-Th 11a-11p, Sat-Sun 11a-midnight.

Yelp
My friend Pat and I saw this place while walking to our Yelp function we decided to drop in on our way out. I took a picture of the menu and talked to the manager about the food. I did a check in and got a free drink. I was going to get it when I came back, but the manager said she saw it and gave it to me right then. Knowing me, I'll probably be back within the week for one of their delicious sandwiches.

Yelp
I wanted to like Dave's Hot Chicken, but it turned out to be just average. While the chicken had a good level of spice, it unfortunately lacked depth in flavor--tasting more like plain heat than anything else. On a positive note, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, which I enjoyed. The service was decent; you order at the counter and pick up your food when ready. The setting is casual, and it's a plus that they stay open late. There's also a decent-sized parking lot, which is convenient.

Yelp
One thing about me... I will always say yes to hot chicken! I was having a conversation with a friend and she brought this place up and was surprised I had never tried it. 15 minutes later we were on our way to Dave's hot chicken! I like some spice but my friend recommended I get the mild since she found the medium to be unbearable. I regret listening to her because although the mild did have great flavor it did not have the kick that I wanted from "hot chicken". I ordered the slider and tender combo and WOW the chicken was perfectly crispy. The sauce was super flavorful as well and I loved the thick cut pickles that came on the side. The fries had some sort of old bay seasoning (my favorite) and were also perfectly crisp! Personally, one slider is plenty of food for me. These are not "sliders" they are full on sandwiches haha. I could not finish all of my food unfortunately but everything was very very good. Special shout out to the staff working the Friday lunch rush (2/9). So friendly, lively, funny, and made my first Dave's hot chicken experience memorable. It was truly something that stood out to my friend and I. Not only did they treat us so well, but they did the same with every single person we saw walk in and out of the restaurant. This is rare and I hope they know it does not go unnoticed.

Yelp
I have had better "hot chicken" from other places in the city. I ordered a medium spice level but to me I would consider it mild. I tried my sister's "hot" level chicken and it was still not that spicy. So if you want spice you have to level up. The coleslaw is made with Kale. It's supposed to be a healthier version. It was ok. What was off putting was that I came with my family after putt putt golf. This was the closest halal restaurant downtown that was open past 9pm. We were a family of 8, so we had to slide a few of the tables and chairs over to make a big enough table for us all to eat together. One of the workers there gave a "annoyed look" and said can you put the tables back when you leave. She then proceeded to say that she was irritated because the last customers that she asked to put the tables back did not. Her comments did not settle well with me.

Yelp
Went at about 8:30p on hump day. The place was empty aside from a couple people waiting for their orders. I ordered two sliders a hot and an extra hot with mac & cheese instead of fries. I was told by a friend that the sliders are small and I would need two. He was wrong. The sliders are pretty huge. One was enough with a side. So far I've only eaten the extra hot slider and it's pretty good! Not the best I've ever had, but great place in the neighborhood that I can see myself going to every once in a while. Mac was all right. Nothing special.

Yelp
Went to this Dave's Hot Chicken as this is now the closest one to me and a couple friends who were in town wanted to go. The parking on a Friday evening is not ideal, which was to be expected given this location is in the middle of midtown. I ended up parking on the street and paying the parking meter. Upon entry, this location (as the parking indicated) was PACKED. The line had stretched to the door and there was no indoor seating. I ordered the #2 Slider Combo, which comes with two sliders and fries. I opted for a hot and medium spice level. The workers were quick and to the point so a positive there given the hectic environment. Despite the long line, I got my food in a somewhat reasonable time (less than 10min). Although, I got the hot and medium slider, you couldn't tell the difference in spice between the two. I might as well have gotten no spice because that's what it tasted like. I understand in a setting on Friday night, where quantity is more important than quality...but a correct spice level would have been nice. The fries were okay to mediocre at best. Overall, every time after eating Daves Hot Chicken, I feel extremely sick and nauseous afterwards - may be due to old oil that needs to be changed. Not visiting a Dave's location anytime soon and disappointed is an understatement.

Yelp
Always been passing by this spot, finally had a chance to try Their hot chicken sliders are top notch. No complaints at all. Ordered the medium spice level and had a slight kick to it Fries were alright Friendly staff! I understand it's midtown and parking spaces are scarce, but when a lot is shared with a food hall, it can be a little stressful to find a spot sometimes (Side note, Found it a little funny that one of the employees walked in with a bag of Popeyes)

Yelp
Very solid service and amazing food. It was great and tasty. I recommend this to everyone

Yelp
I came back here for lunch and it's even better than before. Food was fresh and hot. I forgot the lady name at the register but she was so nice. Sometimes you can tell that people are being nice just for the job. You can tell that she was genuinely nice and I left feeling satisfied. It's a nice casual place to eat. The hot flavor on the chicken has a nice kick. I'm nervous to go one step higher. Maybe on my next trip I will try the extra hot or reaper.

Yelp
Calling all chicken tender lovers - Dave's chicken is crazy delicious!! I wish there were more location in the great Houston area. Pros: Quality: You will be amazed by the quality of ingredients used at a place that I would consider a fast food restaurant. From the fries to the chicken to the homemade ranch, everything is tasty! Portion: You get what you pay for at this restaurant. The chicken tenders they serve are essentially mini dinosaur legs lol. The price doesn't match the amount you get, but in a good way. Uniqueness: The moment you walk it, you can see this isn't your ordinary restaurant. The menu is very simple but that keeps the wait times very low. Cons Location: This parking lot is not very customer friendly and is always packed. You either have to park on the street or search for parking within a block or two from Dave's.

Yelp
Came here to order Togo and the cashier Kourtney did not acknowledge us for at least 10 mins. We were in a rush so being left at the front without even being greeted was frustrating. When she got around to helping us her attitude was very poor as if she was annoyed to help us. I like Dave's Hot Chicken and I visit frequently but I feel the cashier needs etiquette training because in my opinion, she's pretty rude. It also took a long time to receive our order.

Yelp
I had been in the area for a while and noticed this establishment steady filling up their parking lot, so yesterday I randomly decided to try something! I love the look and location of the establishment, and it looks really nice inside. The graffiti-sprayed walls adds a nice touch to its interior. Aside from the look, the food was really really REALLY good. I'm a simple man when it comes to chicken...spice (seasonings), juiciness, and crunch (crisp) are the three factors I look for. Dave might have the secret formula for all 3 factors. I got the 10 piece Dave's Bite, with the "Hot" spice flavor. For my spice enthusiasts, you're probably gonna want the "reaper" if you want a REAL spice level, but I think it's suitable for those who can handle a lil hotness. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and extremely flavorful, and those fries were a good pair. They're SUPER nice with the seasonings on both items AND they didn't hold on the sauce!!! Shoutout Mel (front desk lady) cause she sauced me up without me even asking! Customer service was amazing on her end. All in all, this place is GREAT! I have one minor complaint: the sauce. It's good, I just think it could be BETTER. Consistency is amazing and the flavor is there, I just think they could season it up just a bit more. Other than that guys, this spot is it; whether it be for lunch at work or a late night bite, Dave's Hot Chicken might by Houston's Hot Chicken they way they frying back there!!!

Yelp
Honestly this chicken is just not my cup of tea, the spices are very smelly, as soon as I opened the chicken there was a very strong smell. Now I like my chicken seasoned don't get me wrong but there's something about the spices they use here that is very fragrant to say the least. It surprisingly doesn't taste how it smells but it immediately upset my stomach. The service was friendly and I like their backstory but I just cannot eat here. The French fries were good and their sauce was sweet and tasty. I honestly enjoyed everything but the chicken unfortunately. Doesn't hurt to try unless it does hurt your belly like it did mine lol.

Yelp
Parking was a bit tough, but the chicken was super good! I come to this location pretty often and the seasoning is always good, especially with the honey.

Great food and great service. Has a nice patio too. So many different levels of spiciness. Pick your poison!

Yelp
I absolutely loved Dave's Hot chicken. From, the moment I walked in, I felt so welcome by the staff. The cashier taking my order was so patient with me since it was my first time. Answered all my questions so well. The place has such a great urban vibe. I love the graffiti murals. It wasn't full when I went, but I can imagine it gets busy since the food is so good. I did a take out order of the chicken sliders. Let me tell you, I was surprised when I opened my meal that they call these sandwiches sliders! After having the chicken and fries, I can truly say that popeyes and chik fil a have competition with the spicy chicken sandwich!! Despite being take out when I got home, the fries and chicken remained crispy. The humongous chicken tenders were crunchy on the outside, and juicy fall apart on the inside with a perfect touch of spicy! The crinkle seasoned fries hit the spot. The biggest unknown perk to me was that I got a discount for being a healthcare worker without even knowing it!!! They automatically applied it, and I am so grateful. I will be returning to try the shakes that looked so good on the menu!!!

Yelp
Location: midtown (across from Gloria's) Staff: Aarian was lovely! We were greeted at entrance and she asked if it was our first time and went on to elaborate and explain the menu Price: average Parking: plenty Clean: area/location very clean Drink: chocolate milk shake was delish Taste: we opt out for #4 with medium and other one light. Both were a great taste. Dip was delish! Fries not greasy at all. Will definitely be coming back

Yelp
Hot Chicken - oh yes you can always count me in, I love that every version of hot chicken across the country is different so it's my mission to try them all if the opportunity presents itself, although the genre is the same it's still about the choices and the presentation so even though I knew somewhat what to expect I still had to decide on the heat level. This is a really a cute restaurant that's built quite narrow in design which I'm guessing was intentional to allow space for the private parking lot which is somewhat genius considering the location. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Taylor J - she is awesome and the type of person I'd want to greet my customers especially after making this kind of investment. Taylor explained the process, the construction of the sliders in regards to ingredients and the levels of heat, she is pretty awesome. I was hungry and was in the mood for something Hot Hot Hot - even after I explained my love for hot and spicy she still recommended the medium but I decided to kick it a notch to "hot" and was hoping this would be a fun-da-mentally good decision. I decided on a slider, a tender with crinkle fries and a large chocolate shake - I also took advantage of the YELP checkin reward and got a large fountain drink on the house in anticipation of what's to come. If I have any negative comment it's the wait time after placing my order the wait started, although there were a number of "to go orders" coming out of the kitchen overall this place wasn't busy - I can appreciate everything is made to order but it seemed a little ridiculous. After nearly 20 minutes and after looking at the bottom of my shake my number finally came up. This place definitely delivers on flavor - the slider is my recommendation the complex flavors are built in layers, the slaw, sauce, pickles and hot chicken really pairs well and yes the heat at the hot level will have your taste buds dancing but the condiments balance it all out - the individual tenders provides you with the full fiery experience so if you like it hot hot hot you won't be disappointed I definitely plan to return when in the area and I have the hot chicken urge...

Erika C.

Yelp
Dear Dave's chicken, I am not impressed by your flavorless chicken. The fries crispiness was the best part of my meal. I had an unsweet tea with no sugar substitute because YOU DO NOT PROVIDE IT !!! What the !!!!! The staff is not welcoming at all and I have to go get my own food but yet there's an option to leave a tip ? I'm confused. 0 stars out of 5 given . Also I'm a big back and these chairs are a no no. I'm literally sitting here on the edge of my seat typing this. DO BETTER!

Service is great, food smells delicious and they also have a great selection of shakes

Yelp
Dave's Hot Chicken is just another version of the Nashville Hot Chicken craze that hit Houston beginning with Gus's on Washington a few years ago. I usually enjoy visiting these restaurants and this was one of them. Dave's is in its own building with its own parking lot. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and is a counter service restaurant. At that counter the menu is simple with basically 3 options of tenders, sliders or both with french fries. They also offer mac n cheese and kale slaw as other side dishes along with milkshakes and soft drinks. I ordered the #3 which is 1 tender, 1 slider and fries and added a soft drink. With tax the total was $15. Dave's offers 7 heat levels and I went with mild which is the 3rd lowest on the spice spectrum. The food was ready in about 5 minutes and served hot. I started with the slider but is larger than a typical "slider" with a big seasoned chicken tender on a bun with slaw and sauce with pickles on the side. It was flavorful, filling and I enjoyed it. Ditto on the other tender that was sitting on a slice of bread that you could also make that into a sandwich if desired. Dave's provides honey packets to drizzle over the chicken which I used and really appreciated. Providing honey for this purpose is something that their competitors don't offer. Also I'm glad I ordered the mild heat level and would maybe consider going up only one more level (for me) at the most. Finally, I liked the crinkle cut seasoned french fries that were both hot and tasty. All in all this was a very good tasting and filling meal that was reasonably priced. I would be glad to return.

Yelp
This place serves some legit sandwiches. While a little bit overpriced, it's still very well seasoned and companies with its sauces. We went with a double sandwich platter and strip platter. I went with level 4 spice which was pretty well seasoned and spiced up. I think level 5 would have too much. The sandwiches as mentioned before were very good. The French fries were golden, crispy and also seasoned very good. Their sandwiches have pickles and cabbage/cole slaw along with its house sauce. The strips come with toast which actually is good because if you're eating a level 4 or 5 spiced up chicken, then u need something to diffuse the hot fumes, and nothing better than some toasts to subdue the spice. I see myself retuning here soon

Camilo T.

Yelp
The Chicken was too much seasoned, you can literally see the spices, and the costumer service was not good at all, I never coming here again

Yelp
My first time at any location . Staff members where very kind and ready . I ordered the #1 that's a two piece strips of chicken with any flavor of your choosing. For both pieces . Some Cajun spice fries , and two pieces of breads. I got the medium flavor for one piece and the hot on the other piece of chicken . The hot was definitely hot. Sent my mouth to another level . It's like a honey spice. They have more hotter flavors then the hot. The medium was where it's at . Next time just going to stick with the medium flavor .

Yelp
Rude and unprofessional - I have been to this location 3 times and the last two times have been enough to make me not want to return. The first time I realized the manager and staff were rude and unprofessional was when we went in about 45 minutes before closing (it's fast food - the food should not take long so we SHOULD have had time to eat there). We sat outside and eventually (after 25-30 minutes) received our orders (it was a party of 2) and while we were eating, the manager (female, obnoxious, with a loud mouth) comes to start closing down the patio, telling us we need to finish h up and leave or go inside (which was filthy). The second and final time, I ordered through the app and when I was there to pick up, asked for extra honey, sauce, and pickles. The same manager told me I should have ordered it through the app because they charge but she'd give it to me for free this one time. Her friend (dressed in causal clothes, making more than small talk with her) was hanging out near the register and makes a comment about the requested pickles. Took them more than 5 minutes to fill my request and in the back, I hear her complaining about the pickles. All this headache for 5 pickle slices!!!!! Yes - 5! I am sure you hook up your friends with shakes and sliders, and here you are complaining about a customer asking for some extra pickles and would not address where the button to request said extra pickles and pay for them on the app was so I could pay for?! Too many other fast food chicken places to worry about this one - I will not be back and would suggest you avoid as well.

Yelp
Love this hot chicken place in Rice Village! Got the medium spice chicken sandwich with a side of fries! The chicken was tender and the breading was crispy and flavorful. The medium spice wasn't that spicy, recommend getting the hot level! Recommend asking for honey to drizzle on the fries!

Yelp
Great spot for a late night snack/meal. It's in the heart of Midtown so you might anticipate the type of crowd late on a weekend. They do close the doors around 10 or 11 and will only take orders online, but it works well. The chicken is really good and could probably go up a notch in spiciness. Their milkshakes are a bit runny. At the time we went, there was a check in offer for a free milkshake that didn't seem to be honored anymore, so just a heads up. This is no fault of the restaurant, but the bathroom was pretty trashed, as was the outside tables. I think it's mostly the patrons that are making this mess. Otherwise the food is good and it's a convenient spot.

Yelp
Currently still in its soft opening because still not serving alcohol, though came for a work lunch and wasn't able to have a beer anyways. Parking - private and street Currently my go to spot has been Cookshack and I'd have to say we really enjoyed the spices and juiciness of the chicken here at Dave's although the sides were way off point. The cheese in the mac tasted like it came from a can and the kale slaw was missing creaminess and flavor. Will have to try other sides next time. Staff - Friendly and helpful Seating - indoor and outdoor

Yelp
True this place on a whim and glad I did! I ordered the extra hot combo 3 which included a slider and a tender. You get fries, pickles and a sauce for dipping. For me the spice was just right, hot, but not inedible. The coleslaw on the slider took a higher ranking over the simple tender because of the sandwich crunch. A couple of things to note, it's a small location so it's easy for them to get overwhelmed. Our milkshake was forgotten about, but the order taker apologized for it. Parking was plenty and right in front of the restaurant with tables to eat outside. Based on the others that ate with us. Anything less than "hot" had no flavor. The dipping sauce was "okay".... Raising canes sauce is definitely better. Overall, good spot, good food, would go again.

Yelp
Delicious and super flavorful! Came here for a late night snack. My partner and I split the two slider meal and it was the perfect amount of food for us. We went for the medium which was a good spice level. Enough to give you a little tingle but not enough to make your nose runny. Will definitely be craving this next time we're out late.

Yelp
Yummy, delicious, scrumptious. Juicy and tender, I went on Drake birthday so the line was long and the employees did take quite a while with each customer.

Yelp
My kid loves this place. His taste, as a 12 year old isn't quite gourmet. But the ambience hits right. Bonus points to the staff for taking care of our kid and offering him a drink. Chicken is 'aight. Tenders somehow lack savory chicken flavor and are served on remarkably Sunbeam-style white bread. Regardless, we enjoy the shop and it's often friendly service. Cheers to the Chicken that sustains our Chids!

Yelp
Staff has been real friendly each time i take my food to go. I just love friendly service I think it makes the food taste better. I love spicy food but the hot chicken here said "move out the way bish". this was definitely spicy like spicy enough to teach my tongue a lesson in spiciness! on my first visit here I had the hot slider and hot chicken tender combo and I m not going to lie it was a little bit spicier than I expected . Like spicy enough that you won't forget the next time, and you order the mild on your 2nd visit kind of spicy. Since I'm a masochist I've been here 3 times so far and I will be coming for more.

Yelp
The food is good but overpriced for what it is. I've ordered from here a few times, and I appreciate that "mild" is mild and "hot" is hot. I'll go over each item below: - Slider: A solid choice. A good slider. The sauce tastes good, the chicken is good, and the overall texture and eating experience are good. - Tender w/sliced bread: The tender has good flavor and texture, but it's a little sad eating an untoasted slice of bread with it in my opinion. - Fries: When I see crinkle-cut fries, I get scared, but the fries were seasoned well and surprisingly good! Overall, I think Dave's Hot Chicken is good but overpriced. It's not a place I think about eating at, but it doesn't fail to satisfy me when I end up ordering from there.

Yelp
Really good chicken. Service was quick. Love the crinkle fries and the dipping sauce was nice. The shakes can be hit and miss. First one was really good. Second one was terrible. Tried to get a free shake from the app by leaving a review, but the review wouldn't show up so I couldn't show that I did it and never got a free shake. Portions are nice sized and good value.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times. Both times I was able to park in their private parking lot, but I did notice that there were plenty of people who parked in the lot and then walking across the street instead of into the restaurant. My second time being here, I actually had to wait a couple of minutes for a spot even though the restaurant was pretty much empty. The first time here, I went with 'hot' spicy level and I thought it was a bit too spicy for me considering that I'd stopped by here after I'd had a few to drink. So the spicy and buzzy combination wasn't a good feeling for me. This visit was later at night and I dined in and I remember that I had to walk all the way towards the back to find a decently clean table because there was none. I had to grab some napkins and cleaned our table before we sat down. The second time around, I decided to get 'medium'. I hadn't been drinking at this point so I enjoyed the food a whole lot more. This was a to-go order so I didn't have to deal with finding a table. However, just from eye-balling the dining area, it looked like they had more clean tables ready. The first time I heard of Dave's Hot Chicken, I thought it to be a fast food restaurant. But both times I was here, I spent well over $30 for two people and I honestly can't think of any other fast food restaurants I'd been to in recent years, months, or weeks where I'd dropped that kind of money even for two people. To be fair, their chicken strips are good-sized. Especially if you're comparing the strips to strips from Raising Cane's. Moreover, when you pay with a credit card, it had that 'add tip' option - which you don't find in any other fast food restaurants. So is Dave's a fast food restaurant? Wouldn't mind going back when I'm in the midtown area, but I wouldn't drive all the way out here just to get some strips or sliders.

Yelp
All these hype about their Chicken sandwich, for me it was just meh... nothing special, nothing much to write here. Maybe I've tried Howlin Rays in Los Angeles before, so I set the standard too high. But Daves doesnt even come close to them, bland chicken, no kick spice to it even though i ordered very hot and too small size. Good fries tho. Overall i would not come back and will try other similar places. Advice and notes to management, your team are severly understaffed, service was unnecessarily long because the cashier was working 2 jobs as the servers too. Food 6.5/10 Service 6/10 Place 7/10 Price 6.5/10

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is definitely some of the best hot chicken I've had in Houston so far! The discount for Rice students is also a great perk. Pricing is decent and the food is delicious and fresh. Vibe: Small interior with decent seating, also some space in the outside patio. Cool wall art inside. Good amount of parking on the side with Velvet taco. Food: We got a two slider combo and a strawberry milkshake. There's a decent wait if you don't order ahead - I think this is likely because they get a TON of online orders for takeout (lots of people came in and out) and the meals are cooked to order. We ordered one slider with no spice and the other as hot. The food was worth the wait. The chicken and fries came out steaming hot, and we even nearly burned ourselves (which is a fantastic thing)! The chicken is seasoned very well, and the "hot" sauce is actually pretty spicy, but in a way that enhances the flavors of the slider rather than overwhelm you. Chicken tenders are huge, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The secret sauce is tart and acidic, which goes perfectly with the toasted brioche bun, savory spicy chicken, and refreshing + crunchy slaw. All the components of the slider harmonized. The crinkle cut fries were also excellent, great crunchy exterior and fluffy inside. The strawberry milkshake was also super good. Incredibly creamy and malty with the flavor of real strawberries, it was a perfect dessert and complement to the hot chicken. The portion size for this combo was very generous - we actually split this combo between the two of us and were pretty satisfied. We think the price is justified by the quality of the food. Overall, we were very impressed with the hot chicken served at Dave's Hot Chicken and definitely recommend that you give it a try! This restaurant is Let's Eat Houston approved

Yelp
I can honestly say this place slacked in my expectations horribly. Everything was significantly underwhelming from the service, the price, and most importantly the food that was provided to me. The inside of the place is also nothing to marvel at. Just a typical quick food lobby with some tables and chairs. I walked in with high hopes as I had a hankering for some good chicken tenders with a new flavor. I was sadly disappointed. To begin, I wasn't even given the right order. I ordered the slider and one tender combo, and was given two tenders with two pieces of white bread. I ordered the second most hot flavor (extra hot) expecting a nice heat with flavor but it was nothing that I expected. The flavor was too Smokey and lacked a nice heat. It was more of a lackluster smoked heat flavor and it tasted terrible. The sauce provided was even worse. The fries were soggy and lacked seasoning, I could've bit into a barely cooked potato and been confused on which was which. The only reason I'll give one star is the chocolate milkshake that was just straight from a frosty style machine. Nothing exciting is going on here whatsoever and I don't think I'll ever go to another Dave's Hot Chicken as this was a terrible experience.

Yelp
Decided to give it a shot. Have to say it's some pretty darn good chicken. I absolutely loved the fact that you can choose your hotness level. The sauce is also really good. There is also a free beverage or shake when you check in to Yelp! Definitely a place to try out
